Tapestry remains hanging on the wall...

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Hello all,

First let me say that I do not wish to partake in a religous
discussion, but this does involve religion.

Okay, some of you are familiar with my travels and finds
at a home which is in the process of being bulldozed.
I have permission to remove plants, junk, whatever I
want for the most part.

A while back, the previous owner's family held a yard
sale, basically selling the contents of the home. What was
left remained there, including a small fabric tapestry of the
last supper.

This home has been open to all walks of life in the past
few months, folks taking things, stealing things, whatever
the case may be. Throughout it all, the tapestry has
remained on the kitchen wall. The windows are out, the
doors are wide open, you name it. Everything is gone.

In my last visit I noticed the bulldozers have done a lot
of work, and it appears the gas and electric lines are
being shut down, pulled out, etc. so I don't doubt the
house is due to go soon.

Though I am not religious, I couldn't help but to feel funny
about leaving the tapestry to face the bulldozer. I think either
my aunt or my grandmother had the same tapestry.

So, I removed the fabric, which is terribly old, from the walls.
It was simply driven into the wall with nails. Now what shall I
do with it?

I would feel funny about selling it, so giving it away is more
what I had in mind.

Ideas, please. Many thanks.

I see what you mean. You're a good soul.

Our City Mission has a second hand store. If it were me, that's where I'd take it.

I was once at a Salvation Army store and saw they had one of those , I don't know what to call it.....like a box you hang on the wall to keep a communion chalice in. It was finely decorated and well taken care of. They had a $250 sticker on it! So just about any second hand store would probably like to have it.

Or if it's in decent condition, offer it to a church. Some pastor would probably love to meet a person who just couldn't let The Last Supper be bulldozed!

Maybe a nursing home would like it?
