Hey I'm still watching this thread.LOL
Congratulations Dave - do you get to retire now?
stop digging in these threads or you might find something spoiled
Coffee Break!!
Hey, Dave, I'm still here. That's really something to celebrate. Personal satisfaction is important, but it's really nice to get some external recognition, too. Congratulations! Nice to know I hang in such good company.
Way to go, Dave!
Way to go Dave - does that mean you are officially old now? Funny to see this thread again. The coffee breaks started around this time last year, if I remember correctly.
I don't get to retire, but I just don't have to do anything anymore.
I'm almost 52 but I have a 7 yr. old. I think I will be working a long time.
Thank you everyone for your kind words.
Anita - I don't think the forum started until the first of the year. I knew a lot of the regulars before this forum started and joined in shortly after - for those of you who wondered ;)~
Dave - hi Dave
You may be right Al - I'm not a good one for time. Never ask me when as I usually don't remember
When was the Battle of 1812?
hmmmmm
in Grant's tomb
No. That is where they bury the survivors!
Wow! I just checked. We first got this forum on Jan. 28, 2006! We are not even 10 months old! I would have thought it was much longer. I guess that is because I can't imagine DG without it. Thanks to all of you for all the added information, support & laughs you have brought into my life.
BTW: The first time "Dave (NOT DAVE)" was used was Jan. 29.
it does seem longer.
Congrats, Dave. and no, I guess with a 7 yr old you aren't planning retirement anytime soon. LOL Still it's nice to receive recognition for work done well. Hurrah for you.
Glad to see the thread wake up again too. Winter is a-comin' . Less outdoor stuff to fill the days. Good to have a place to chat. It's a lovely day out there... time to cut down the sunflowers and the datura - less clean up in the spring. LOL
~~Blooms
Thanks Blooms! Still mild here this weekend. We are getting some bonus time with our tender plants this year.
Dave
Dave, my dentist, who is at least in his middle 50's, has a 4 year old. He always says the same thing when I ask him about retirement. I'm glad, cuz I don't want him to retire while I still have any teeth left LOL
(no, Dave is not my dentist)
Someone, outside of Hollywood, will be an older Dad than me!!
Speaking of Dentist - I am supposed to go back on Halloween for my permanent crown. Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to go back sooner. Unless I have motrin actively working in my system, I have pain in the tooth he worked on. My mother mentioned the word 'root canal'!!!!
Uh-oh, Anita. you should probably give him a call. Mom knows best.
Bummer, Anita. At least you won't ruin Halloween if you take care of it sooner.
I've never had a root canal before so I don't know what to expect.
I don't think they are as bad as they used to be.
Anita, I've had lots of them. they make it sound like a big deal, but it's numb and you won't feel it. they clean out the root pulp with little files and replace it with something. then they fill the tooth like usual and put the crown on. not a technical explanation. I did have one years ago with no novacaine. that wasn't fun, but they don't do that anymore.
Anita; It's true they are no big deal. A little lenghty that's all. I've had root canals without crowns, and have had no trouble with those teeth since. Grampapa - no novacaine - thats barbaric! It's not just pulp, they remove the nerve!
Thanks. I'm going today at 2pm.
Can someone please put on a fresh pot of coffee? I would - but I don't know how to do the hyperlink thing.
I would love to! http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/664228/
