citrus tree help please!

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

If anyone who knows about citrus, please help me with my little tree :)

This is a dwarf citrus tree that is about 8 years old and has been somewhat happily living in my yard for about 5 years. Up until last year, it had been crowded by some "heavenly bamboo" that were removed last year. Two years ago, it started producing flowers, but as of yet, does not fruit. It's either a dwarf orange or tangerine, but I forget which.

Someone told me that it might need a mate to cross polinate with, so I would need to find it a partner of the opposite gender to get fruit. Does anyone know about this and if that would help?

If, in fact, it does need a hot date with another tree, is there a good way to tell which gender it is and what exact tree it is? Could it be possible to cross polinate without having to squeeze another tree in the yard, say, by getting some frowers from another plant of the species?

I'm very sorry if this seems silly, but I want to learn and help this tree be as happy as possible. A couple pictures of the tree in question are attached.

You will have to ID the tree before you find it a mate. Citrus have perfect flowers (that is, both male and female cells are present in each flower), but are mostly not self-fertile. You can try pollinating with its own pollen, but an outdoor tree that is barren is generally self-sterile. Yes, if you swipe a few flowers from somebody else's tree of the same species and rub them together, it can make fruit. With citrus, a lack of water after bloom can cause all the fruit to blast, so don't let it get real dry after bloom, even for one day. Good luck.

Some citrus are self fertile and some are not, I had one for a while that was, but it still didn't produce fruit, either because it was still young or maybe I didn't fertilize it enough. If you know what type you have, you should be able to do a search and find out whether yours is a self fertile type or not, and if not what you'd need to have to cross pollinate it with (it's not necessarily another tree that's exactly the same)
