Updating Images / Use of Botanical Illustrations

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I would like to request or know if there is a way to update images that we've uploaded. I've submitted several images that I've taken just after a plant has been purchased from the nursery. Whenever there is no image for a plant that I have I feel 'obligated' to provide one so that would-be plant hunters can have a look. However, they are not always the most ideal images. The plants usually look much better and are much more identifiable after a season. I also feel bad posting more than a couple of images....so I'm wondering if old not-so-good images can be replaced or removed in time?

Additionally, are botanical illustrations allowed if we own the copyright (I drew the ones below)? Illustrations can often show details that would be missed or be unclear in photographs.

We can change the photo order within any entry. We can also delete images. However, if you've submitted photos of juvenile plants, those are often just as helpful as those of mature specimen - I'd encourage you to reconsider before asking to have them removed altogether. But if a better photo is submitted down the road, we can put it in the "top" position which means it displays as the representative thumbnail image in the summary search results.

And yes, if you have botanical illustrations that you own the copyrights to, they are welcome as well.

Willmetge, those illustrations are beautiful! are you in that business? I hope you are putting your talent to work for you.
Congratulations!
Josephine.
