Ann, you have a bad, bad case of the hoya sickness. We may have to plan an "intervention"!

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Christine please don't encourage her addiction...Susan is right,Ann needs an immediate intervention"!

LOLOLOL so sayeth the pot to the kettle. ;) I remember once saying to PanamonCreel that he was nuts collecting so many.........he came back with "yes and your point is?!?"

At least it's a healthy addiction (ups the oxygen levels in the house). I really do want to see all the low zoners collections (and where they house them........and themselves) when their babies grow up tho. ;)

edited to say including myself. ;S

Ok so I did receive some hoyas from the pimpette yesterday, and I also received some from Logees too. And on Wednesday I received some ok, 2 linearis, BUT that does not mean I'm addicted! Unlike Ms. K and the rest of you addicted hoya addicts, I can quit at any time:-). This is what I received from the Pimpette:

australis X subcalva
citrina IML 734
cominsii IML 294
cv. Christine
Hoya rigida IML 1395 DMC 5626

Logee's
3 serpens
2 affinis

As soon as I get my order from Ted Green, I'm sure I'll stop:-)

Blessings,
Awanda aka not addicted to hoyas!

Heeee Heeee ... I see the great (former) Hoya Jedi Master is really nothing but a simpering addict like the rest of us. Sure, she can quit anytime.....(lol)

That is a BEAUTIFUL haul, Awanda!!!

Make sure to let us know what cuttings you get from Ted Green (so that we may continue to "jones" for that ever elusive hoya that we don't have but are sure that we need).

If Awanda is our leader, exactly where is it that she's leading us??? Could she be another pimpette in disguise??!!! Can she really "stop" anytime?? Are all these questions just my way of avoiding admitting that I have received my second order (fabulous h. magnifica) in less than a month from THE pimpette??? Oh, where will this addiction take us.....

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Here is one of the cuttings I received from Ted Green, this one is fusco-marginata. It has really large leaves.

Blessings,
Awanda

This one is sp Borneo 80-03, it also has large leaves. I also received sp. rundum, the flowas on it are awesome!! Karen, Karen, Karen when will it end? I am still the hoya-addict leader, it's just that I had a "senior-hoya addict moment", but I'm back on track now....just follow me:-)

Blessings,
Awanda aka I can quit at any time Clark

Awanda...great looking leaves!!! Good cuttings!!! You are a wonderful enabler...but I think I am far too over the top...no help! Going far afield to fill my cravings....

A dear friend went to Thailand 2 weeks ago and wrote me she met the Thai I gave her the name of (a friend of Michael Miyashiro) and she is coming back with TONS of plants...hoyas among them. I am hoping for the 2 obtusifolias...and I am hoping they make it!!!

Lets just relax and see where this leads us....

You guys are too much! This thread has been driving me crazy for days.

Las Vegas, NV

Awanda, That's your story and you are sticking to it, right? So you can quit anytime? Sure you can!

Deb

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

Dear Awanda-can-quit-anytime...
If you decide to quit completely, I'll be happy to give your hoyas a home.
I'll give your greenhouse a good home, too.
Just say the word...I'll be right over....just let me call my daughter to borrow her truck...

I don't worry about obsessions!!! As long as I am not drinking, smoking or cramming it up my nose they are healthy!!! I wonder if the obssession kicks in with that first whiff of fragrance... maybe it IS bad?????????????

Carol

Chowchilla, CA(Zone 10a)

Those cuttings are stunning Awanda (former hoya jedi master)!!!
I love those huge leaves!
Ann

Chowchilla, CA(Zone 10a)

And, I say, "hey, if you wanna cram hoya up your nose, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else it's fine by me." (lol!)

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Carol of course you don't worry about obsessions, our obsessions is what keeps you happy:-). I have disbanded the "hoya addict" club, no one wanted to sign up:-). Sharon dear thank you so much for your offer, but I'm afraid I'll have to decline it. Ann those are some BIG leaves huh? My reasoning for buying so many hoyas is that since I don't work, I don't have to buy as many clothes:-).

Blessings,
Awanda fka "President of the hoya-addicts club"

Awanda, do you mean you don't work outside the home in the cash economy? I suspect you work plenty - just not necessarily for a wage. (sorry, it's my knee-jerk reaction ... I get students who will tell me their mothers don't work, and I remind them the fact that they can wipe their own rear-ends tells me that their mothers work -- just not for a wage).
Smiles,
Ann

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Ann I don't work outside of the home, and very little inside the home:-).

I have been tracking my package from "Le Pimpette" all week - - it left Hawaii on Tuesday and was scanned at the local FedEx office mid morning today. I had all but given up hope of receiving it today when my doorbell rang at 7:00 p.m. IT WAS THE FedEx MAN WITH MY BOX OF HOYAS!! Whooo hooo! They're FINALLY here! Doin' the happy hoya dance....HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!

Hello everyone. I am new to forums, and just joined this forum today. I joined Garden Web forum too, and don't usually post, I like to just read. I have a few hoyas. One was my grandma's, and three came from Lowe's here in my town.

I was on ebay and lost an auction for a hoya. The lady who was selling the cuttings is in California, and she said she would sell me a cutting even though I lost. She has been helping me know how to root this hoya cutting, and thought I would like this forum. She told me that the only way to learn about hoyas is to ask ask ask. She has a forum too she said, but it is very academic, so I joined up here too.

I have been reading this forum this morning, and found lots of subjects about hoya pimpette. I really like the hoyas I am seeing but don't know where everyone is getting them. The people I am meeting are very nice, and I thought they may be able to help me find good hoya sellers. Thank you. I am sure I will have lots more questions, but the lady in California said that it is how all hoya growers learned about their hoyas.
