Some members have no zones

I wanted to know the zone of a specific member who'd posted on a thread in the dahlia forum to see if it was the same as my own, but no zone is listed for her. Not in the thread postings, and not on her homepage. Then I looked around and saw that there are others whose zones are not listed. Some are new members, but some are longtime members. It's not important, but I'm curious now.

That is a personal thing that the member has to do on their own page. Many times people don't think it's important, until they ask a question about "will this plant do well in my garden" and we need to know what their zone is.

Usually someone reminds the member about doing this and they fix it. So next time you see no zone, kindly nudge the member to put it on their preference page.

Well, I used to have it on mine but it disappeared and I can't seem to reset it. Must be doing somehting wrong.

I don't have my city name listed, and even though I have Zone 7a selected in the drop down box, it won't list my zone unless I type it in the "Your City" box. Now I look goofy having it listed twice! Anyone know why that is?

Edited to say: Well, for Pete's sake! I went and fiddled with it, and now it works! I bet I've done that 20 times and it never worked before. Dave, are you playing tricks on me?! LOL

Something I just discovered is that zones don't show up in Dmails. I have checked myself and 3 people I've had dmail communication with, and everyone's zone shows in postings, but not in dmails.

Sheesh, now how did my Zone show up? Hmmm, maybe it was in the DMail it wasn't showing and I didn't even notice that it was in the forums.
I am sooo confused.
