I'll bite. What are the plants?

The first two are plants you are supposed to buy to keep stray cats and dogs out of your yard. The third one you are supposed to buy to keep skeeters away from you.

The first two are actually the same and they look like some sort of Coleus canina hybrid. The skeeter plant looks like it might be some sort of a Pelargonium.

What's sort of funny is that I could see that half of the tables were sold out of these plants. That means that people are buying them. Great marketing scheme. I thought the tags were great and was sort of tempted to buy one as a joke for a friend of mine who has problems with stray cats around her house hanging out under her bird feeder but then I thought she might not see the humor given cats are eating her birds so I took a photo instead. I haven't sent her the photo but I might. About the only way I see any of these plants "repelling" cats is if you planted thousands of them around your yard about 2' deep and then sprayed them with wolf or coyote urine.

The first two are plectranthus. They smell much like a long dead dog. Lois woodhull is the cultivar I think. It has a beautiful flower but water the thing on a hot day and RUN!!

"Long Dead Dog" smell??? Why frogsrus, you have such a way with words. So lemme guess here- the only thing this plectranthus will keep away is people, right?

Dogs really are not too crazy about it either lol. Keeps DH's away though.

OK, if I plant Plectranthus in my back yard, can I not mow there? Will it spread?

Which plectranthus do you want to plant? Some are much better behaved than others.
