Worms, that is.
Don't you just love them?
They make me all happy inside.
Just the sound of the word "worm" is fun!.
Say it while looking in the mirror.

Never tell your hubby that you found a 10 inch worm. Show him and leave it there. (You do like being married?)

Is that all it takes?
lol

heheheheh......just went and looked at myself saying the word worm......pretty funny!

I am amazed at how many more worms I have in my soil after adding mint compost to it. They LOVE that stuff and I have soooooooooo many now!! I LOVE IT!!!

What is mint compost?

Citra, FL(Zone 9a)

Exactly what I wanted to know. I've got mint growing everywhere!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

It's what the farmers sell after they have harvested their mint. They let the rest of the plant sit around for awhile and then they sell it.........it's wonderful stuff. I guess it could be considered more of a mulch than a compost.........depends on how long you let it sit around. I added some into my dirt and then I mulched with it too.

I got this truck load for $20.

Wow, that looks pretty good. No seeds that will grow and be a problem? I bought a small plant of spearmint htis year but the leaves are thick. My neighber had aome last year and they were thin. I think hers had a better smell too.

4paws. I do love worms. When they are up I try not to step on them. I also love toads, frogs and turtles. I despise grasshoppers and crickets!

I think it has sat around long enough that seeds won't be a problem. Usually you see great big steaming piles of it next to the farmers fields. I'm not sure if it's from this year's crop or last year's.

I doubt we have anything like it around here. You're lucky.

Citra, FL(Zone 9a)

It does look wonderful. We have lots of mint growing all over - I'll have to add that to my list of things to try - make mint compost!

How does it smell?

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

When you're driving by the big steaming piles it smells terrible! Too overpowering. But in the garden it smells wonderful at first. After awhile it loses it's smell....or maybe I'm just used to it?
