First blossom this year.
Teresa Wilder just awakened
Good luck
Oh Brad, I'm so glad you posted the pix of the TW, I thought something was wrong with mine.......remember, you sent me the cutting? The inflo "stem" thingy is getting so long, and she hasn't put out any leaves yet. This is my first bloom and I didn't know how it was supposed to look.
She had a rough winter, and I was holding my breath until I saw the little bubbles on the ends. (Don't you just love my techno talk) LOL
What a beautiful flower to look forward to!!! I just can't wait to show my stingy neighbor, you know, the one that has a forest of Plumies and doesn't share cuttings or information. All his yellow ones are blooming now, but he will be blown away by TW!!
Pati
Awesome, Brad! Congratulations! Man, that looks so lovely against all the palm trees. Wow! Look at all those inflo's! You've got a bunch of them! Yippee!
Agree w/Clare....beautiful bloom AND beautiful back drop!!! I've got 3 leaves now...and my Dukes got those "purple blisters"!!! :)
lovely photos thanks for sharing. i can imagine they smell incredible

The white -- yes. But Teresa -- no. I think they swapped fragrance for beauty.
I guess one can't have everything.
Be well
Please forgive the cheapie throw-away camera, but if you look in the top left hand corner, you can see her inflo showing up against the dark pot. Of course the Singapore White is showing off with leaves and one inflo. He is not supposed to shed his leaves in winter, and did indeed manage to hold on to ONE leaf all winter! LOL
I can't wait to see your TW when all those blooms pop. Please post a picture and give me permission to use it as "wallpaper" on my computer.

Gotcha!
But you are already off and running. She'll be beautiful.
Be well
Brad
Beautiful pictures, Brad!
Congrats on your inflo, Pati! Singapore loses its leaves here too. I think it is only evergreen in truly tropical regions. My Dwarf Pink Singapore, however, did keep its leaves all winter long.
Thanks Clare. My Plumies had a rough winter (me too) here. No rain to speak of and a couple of 4 hour freezes! Worse have been the high winds, but the Cannas suffered more from those. I'm really excited about my first year for blooms!
Pati
this year my singapore lost its leaves as well...but there are gorgeous new ones coming..
Pati, I bet your cannas will come up again nicely soon. Mine always look a bit ratty in the winter so I end up cutting them down to nothing, and new shoots come up in the spring.
Wowee! Gorgeous! Can't wait for my TW to bloom!
I've got this one as well and can't wait till mine gets big enough to bloom.. such gorgeous coloration on this one. Thanks for the pics flyboy
Thanks so much Brad. These pictures are just breathtaking! I will certainly enjoy seeing them on my screen!
Pati
WOW she is lovely!!
Thanks guys.
:)
She is lovely, Brad! I accidentally knocked off two buds that were about to open when I moved her out of the little greenhouse that I have sent up. I was so mad and called myself an idiot! Thankfully, there are more buds waiting to open so I will wait for them. Thanks for the pictures:-)
And closer.
I'll miss her, while she's filling out and putting on leaves.
Funny thing. The driver who was taking us to the airport, jumped out of her car to stare at it. She is young, from VietNam -- and was bubbling -- frangipani -- frangipani -- frangipani. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful..
I finallty suggested she clip off a cutting, while we are away -- after she told me how many she was growing -- and I could have as many as I wanted; etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. And she told me she knew precisely how to cut it; etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. All I hope is that she uses a sharp, clean, pair of snippers.
Anyhow, by the time I return, the blossoms will be gone -- and a yellow fungus will have started creeping across the leaves.
: ).
Beautiful photos of your plumies, we call them frangipani's here :-) I've only just joined DG and I'm still finding my way around the different forums. I have about 6 different varieties of frangipanis growing in my yard. They're one of my favourite flowering trees and the scent from the flowers is wonderful.

You're lucky. Mine are absolutely odorless. I think the propagators went for color.
I have this Teresa Wilder and an anonymous "White." -- but several trees of each. (from cuttings.)
What is the weather in Brisbane? I know it's winter when we have summer, but that's all.
How tall do your plants grow?
Be well
: )
Hi Brad!
Your TW is soooo beautiful! That was really nice of you to tell the cab driver that she could take cuttings while you are gone. I hope she takes them in inconspicuous places. The form you have is so beautiful. Bayleton granules is said to help with that rust problem. You can just add them to the soil beneath the trees. I don't blame you for missing them. Have a safe trip back to NJ:-)
Welcome to Daves, Tea Tree! It is so nice to have another franipani lover here. Welcome! Yes, you must be having fall now and getting ready for winter. We'll show you our pictures over your winter, and you can show us your pictures over our winter, and we'll be looking at pictures all year 'round!
flyboy: Yeah we have the odourless ones here too, but I think I'd rather have the perfume over the colour any day. I'm not sure what some of my varieties are as they're all from cuttings.
The weather in Brisbane is sub-tropical. It has hot and humid summers and clear mild winters. Whilst summer maximum temperatures average around 85-90F, the summer months have some extremely hot days. Most of our rain falls in the summer months too.
Our winters are mild and pleasant, it being the dry season. Most days are sunny with average temperatures of around 65-70F. I do get the occasional frost in July which can "burn" a few of my more tender plants. These frosts only last for a couple of weeks when the temp dips at night to about 35F.
My frangipanis are slow growers but I have two that are about 10ft tall, the rest are of varying heights. :-).
Clare: Thanks for the welcome! :-) Yes I'm into late autumn here and winter officially starts in June. Oh and that's a great idea about seeing pics them all year 'round. I look forward to seeing them! :-)
clare~
I'll try Bayleton next fall. I gave up on them because they were about to drop, anyhow,
Yes, she said she'd take "one" piece.
Oh yes, and the seed pods are still hanging. I rewrapped them -- another pair of my DDW's panty hose, gonzo.. How long does it take for the pods to to pop?
Be well
Brad

Brisbane, sounds like a nice place to visit -- but it is so far away. Maybe in my next life.
And, I am going to try to get a scented variety. They sound great.
Be well
:).
Tea Tree, your weather sounds wonderful and ideal for plumies! It's great to have you here! I agree with you that I would rather have perfume over color, but a garden filled with both is even better! LOL! There is a really sweet lady named Shazz in Australia over at Pals. She has a link over at http://www.plumerias.com called Shazz's Travels. Check it out if you get a chance. She is a big plumeria lover too. Maybe you guys can hook up on one of her travels if she comes your way. I know Australia is a big place, but she gets around!
Brad, my first TW bloom is opening today! Yay! I did detect a very slight sweet fragrance. If you are in need of a sweet smelling plumie, Brad, I will set you up. Just send me a d-mail and tell me where to ship, my dear. Seed pods can take as long as nine months to ripen. They turn brown, crack open, and the seeds scatter into the wind so you are wise to re-wrap them with pantyhose. You just don't want them to get wet and stay wet for any length of time because they can get moldy and turn to mush.
