Clare,
What a beautiful Carribean Sunset color!!!
Teresa Wilder just awakened
clare~
Congratulations. And it looks like an ample inflor.
I feel just like Johnny Appleseed.
I won't get back south until October -- so, please, give me a raincheck.
Brad
Of course, Brad. You just let me know when you are back and ready, and I'll send you a wonderful smelling one. You are Johnny Appleseed! You've spread joy all over the country. You should feel good about that, my friend. It's another gray day here, and it is starting to rain again, but as soon as some nice hot weather kicks in, we'll have blooms galore. I'll be sure to post more of TW as she reveals her splendor.
Thanks, Chantell! This was a gift from a certain charming flyboy:-)

Did the "whites" survive?
If not, I'll send you some more.
Brad
Hi Brad! I think I lost a couple this winter, which I'm embarassed to admit because whites should be the easiest to root, but I'm pretty sure that I have at least one white which rooted, and it is a big one with three branches. I may have more than one white that rooted. I'll have to look for it! I smelled TW again this evening as it was starting to rain out. I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice mild scent. It could be the conditions here which are bringing it out. Scent tends to vary with conditions as the color does also. I'll take another picture tomorrow between rain showers. You're such a sweetie;-)
Flyboy: Yep Brisbane is a nice place, but I may be a little biased there :-) It's not that far away lol, but then again I've never been to FLA either.....haven't been that far south on my travels in the US yet......Good for you getting the scented variety too, it's a sign of summer here to have that great perfume wafting through the air on a summer's day :-)
Clare: I agree about having both colour and fragrance is a big bonus. It is pretty good weather here for them and they all seem to thrive. All I do with my cuttings is just stick them in the ground and away they go. Thank you also for the link and info, I'll check that out :-)

I guess one needs quiet, sultry weather, for any scent to be apparent.
That must be the white. It IS prolific.

Florida is pretty long -- north and south, that is. So, the weather varies, tremendously. Where we are it is fairly temperate most of the year. It snowed once -- in the past thirty years. We have an occasional freeze -- but our being on the water tempers it.
Be well -- guys
: )
What a great looking plumie. And I love your trees too. I am so desperate to grow a big plumie tree myself.
kell~
This was my first try with plumies.
I bought it at a show. It was four years ago. Three feet high, with three branches.
It must like where it's at.
But, at the same time I bought three little cuttings. One survived. A white. Three of its descendants are now trees. They're brittle, and what the winds break off, I shove into the ground -- and, voila!
Be well
: )
Clare~
I can see that it found a happy home.
Enjoy it.
Be well
Brad
Thanks, Brad! Here's another picture today. By the way, I found three Brad's White in the yard today! Yippee! I can't wait for it to bloom too! My most fragrant delicious-smelling plumies thus far are Celadine (white/yellow), Key West Pink (Pink), and Kauka Wilder (Red). I can send you all three when you return. Just let me know when you are ready. I love TW and am enjoying her very much. Be well too:-)
Magnificent colors.
Wait until it matures. The inflors will be twice (or more) as populated.
And, good for the white. Stand back -- it's a jack-in-the-beanstalk grower.
Be well
: )
Thanks, Brad! I can't wait! Hmmm, I may have to make a Brad's White a permanent planting in the yard! That's good to know! Hugs, Clare
Clare~
Atta girl. Keep me posted.
: )
Clare,
Is Theresa Wilder related to Kauka Wilder?
I see some similarities
Hi Michael, I think there is something in J.L.'s book about those two names and how they came about, but I'll have to check and get back to you. I don't think they are related genetically. KW is more of a red, and TW is more of a rainbow, but I see what you mean;-)
Brad, will do!
