How do I delete old D-Mail messages?

Cedar Springs, MI(Zone 5b)

I've looked and looked and cannot find a delete option???

Rose,

There is a thread with this info, but briefly, understand that your d-mail also belongs to the person on the other end. So it cannot be deleted. If you don't care to look at it anymore, you might want to create your own folder there, name it "delete" or "trash" and move your completed dmails into it.

A d-mail basically is equal to a private "thread" between 2 people.

I'm glad you asked this, because I couldn't figure it out either until I created the "wastebasket" folder. Really helps cut down on the searching through old Dmail for something specific.

Thanks for the info but it doesn't make any sense to me because after awhile will have tons of pages of D-Mails you will never read again.
Each person should be able to indivdually delete messages.

Rose, it would be like me deciding to delete this post, since:

a) I participated in it; and
b) I don't want to see it any longer.

If I deleted the thread, you wouldn't have any way of knowing why it was suddenly deleted, or whether your question was ever answered.

In the same way, a dmail is a "thread" that only two people can post to - you and the other person. If either of you deletes it, the other one no longer has access to it.

A "deleted" folder is your best option for handling messages you've read and are done with. Yes, it will get big, but that's okay - if it's truly "trash" you'll never have to search through it to find something.

Wasn't complaining, just seems kinda odd and not how the typical private messaging systems work.
Made a trash bin.
Thanks! ;-)

And you move it over into the trash folder how? I'm confused. And suddenly everything is huge! What happened?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

The huge-ness is something within your browser settings, and I'm probably not the best person to ask. (The Computer Talk forum is great if you don't get help within this thread.)

1) Once you've set up your deleted folder, click on "inbox" and you'll find a little box to the left of each message (the column is titled "move".

2) Use your mouse to click on those boxes next to the items you wish to move

3) Scroll down until you see a pull-down list of your folders. Select "deleted" (or whatever you called it) and press submit.

Everything is huge? Did you inadvertantly click on the text size choices?...under view on Netscape at the top.
