"Search" troubles

It seems like this is a continuous problem for me and I blame myself for my own short comings.

But now today, maybe it isn't me. I did a general search in the forums using the keyword: rootblast It came up with one thread from 2002 in the brugs forum. Don't know why.

So I opened a thread in the Garden Products forums with a title including the word rootblast and in the content I used www.rootblast.com I saved the entry then went back and did another search using the exact words I had put in.

Still the search results took me back to that one thread in the brugs forum.

Why can't I make the search feature work for me?

Molly I think there's something not working just right with the search engine's indexing of new threads. (I mentioned the same thing to Dave late last week.)

But remember, the search doesn't look at the title of the thread, and I'm not sure it can pick up a keyword within a URL. The better test is to use the word (alone) within a post in your thread, and then see if the search picks it up.

Thanks Terry,

That same thread I started has 2 responses to it now and the word rootblast is in the message text of the second one.

The seach still brings up that same thread in the brugs forum.

Yep, I think there's something askew in our internal search engine's "indexing" of new threads - it's just not picking them up in a timely manner.
