Parking Lot vs General Discussion...

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

What is the difference between these 2 forums?

I have wondered the same thing.. I really thought when I was first here that the Parking Lot would be about peoples cars!

The Parking Lot is completely off limits to non-subscribers while with the general discussion forum , non-subscribers know of its existence and can read the first post in each thread.

People asked many years ago for a completely off-limits forum that only subscribers could have and that was the Parking Lot. :)

Good to know! It really is a good idea - another score for Dave.

oh! that explains something I've wondered too :)

PL is also where I post photos of family etc, since it not seen by non-subscribers.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

The funny thing is, Parking Lot used to be most private type discussions, pictures of family, personal advice one wouldn't want floating out there everywhere, etc. I notice a lot more posts there that really don't need to be in a *private* setting. Of course I have seen a few in General Discussion that I thought maybe should have been a bit more sheltered. LOL

Badseed, AH, that sheds even more light on the topic. Didn't think about it being a privacy thing from non-subscribers! So PL should be more personal and General is for all to see. THANKS!

Hey Dave,

Since this is a common question do you think you could make it a voting booth question? It would help move the forums to the right room! =)
