Lets see........leaves have been removed, dogs gifts have been disposed of and ponds have had an initial skim. BTW I do live one full zone lower than you!!! ;)
Canadian Contingent @ Dave's Garden
How sad for you. I would like Zone 6 to 7 if I had a choice. but I left that when I left Seattle. I like the excitement I get when I get to start in the soil. I have been watching the compost pile all winter planning who gets it this year. Well I had planned the new bed but the oldest one got it. Now all the plants in it are haveing a "hoe down" with the new soil they get to inhabit. Yee Haaaw. You can see my empty compost area.
Some days I feel that way too. ;) My compost bin *might* be defrosted now.
Welcome aboard Joan and Sphynx! :)
Looking at everyone's location down east a RoundUp there would have excellent attendance!
Echoes you moved back to Winipeg from Churchill. I didn't think you lived in Churchill. You were just playing with me.
Also done
I think we should all do the Voyager thing and meet at Rainy Lake for a round up. We could bring plants in our canoe rather than Beaver Hides.
Good morning,
I editied mine slightly to say Gloucester, ON although Gloucester has been amalgamated with Ottawa. It puts the marker a bit closer but still not accurate to where I live though I can see my street if I zoom in enough. How does one move it? I tried dragging it and it wouldn't budge.
Very interesting to see where others live. Also welcome to out honorary Canadian gardener across the St. Lawrence in Potsdam, NY.
Ann
Thank you, Ann and Lilypon! Canadians are a much friendlier bunch than most of the members in the N.E. group. Some of the more southern members are just as nice, though. But, my zone and area is more in tune with Canada, so here I am. BAM
I can't move mine either.
I can't remember the steps I used to move mine and I'm at work without my password ..... I'm hoping Ginny/Brenda/ Milan (or someone else who figured it out) will stop by to give the step-by-step directions.
I didn't move the marker, just typed in a new city. Think I did it under edit.
It might be under the My Frapper option that you can move items manually within the map. Unfortunately my work link was logged out so I can't confirm it.
Given your location BAM you've definitely found the right forum. ;)

Yeah so did I echoes and I put the correct city too. Hee Hee. But the blog placed me 5 miles away from where I am though it chose a nice farming area on the Flathead River.
Waiting out there for you smart people two tell me. Back to the garden lunch over.
To move your marker:
1. Click on the *My Frapper* tab.
2.Where it says *My Profile*
Name: your name
Location: your location
Click on (Edit My Basic Profile)
3.Under *My Location* you will see:

There I got it. thanks Pam.
:)
Also if you chose to manually move the marker to a different location be sure to click on Save Marker Position when you are done.
edited to say the above is located under the map.

The west is looking more populated now........good to see you Lynn and our far away from home Laura (Kooger).
I'm in a cluster along with Erynne, Serena, heavenly bubbles, Kitchener,ON and ginnylynn, Blyth, ON. Or I was there. My profile is over to the right but I can't find my marker. Can anyone else locate it?
Not much room to add anyone.
Todd looks kind of lonely there in Newfoundland.
Joan
When people click on your name on the side Joan there will be a box that pops up with a directional pointer that links to your marker.
You can also click on the guy/gal markers in the lower right hand corner box labelled *legend* and it will remove the markers of the colour you clicked on. If you do that just the gal markers would be present (or guy's) or none at all (if you clicked on both and you want a better look at what the area looks like without markers).
More markers can be added....tho the East will certainly look to be crowded.

Also on the top left hand corner of the map there are four arrows (under the ? mark) and what looks to be a zipper under them. If you click on the arrows you can move the map over Ontario. Then click of the plus sign at the top of the *zipper*.......it will let you zoom in and you will get a close up view of your area. At that point you will see that there is lots of room for more markers.
Well, I went there and moved the marker AND clicked on Save marker position, but when I look at it on the map, it's still in the wrong place. Will try it again tomorrow after a good sleep. good night.
Ann
But I'm in the wrong place Pam. They don't show Mississauga on this map, but I should be more toward Oakville, which intertwines with Mississauga. For all intents and purposes they are one city.
Will try to move meself again. lol
Joan
Here's an example of where two people seem to be sharing the same marker. PanamonCreel joined first and then Sphynx did (so at normal resolution her marker seems to cover his). Both have Montreal as their location and the computer automatically set the marker's position, within Montreal, when they joined. PanamonCreel however moved his marker to a slightly different location within the city.

Added mine.
Ü Now I'm off to *see* where you live Linda. Ü
You look a little lonely too......and now I can understand your zone 2.
Don't think I like groups like this; so I've removed mine. Sorry.
Ann
No problem.
I'm not sure why Ann chose to pull out but like Dave's the map is online. Most have chosen to use a handle when registering and have let the computer place their marker. If you chose to put the marker in your neighborhood I wouldn't place it right over your house.
I think Ann is afraid the Black Shoe Society will find her too easily on the map.
Linda won't have to worry about other markers crowding her, "boy way up there", she says as she looks across to Wpg.
Laura, it looks like I am your closest Canadian location if you have to make a run for it.. ha ha ......Just zip on straight up that highway.
With my very old processor, I can't use Frapper, it crashes my whole system, after freezing it. :-((
Would you like to be put on it Marilyn? I could register you when I'm at work tomorrow. I'd just need an email address of yours dmailed to me.
No, definitely won't have any other markers crowding me. I remember when I first moved here from Toronto at age 19. Boy, what a culture shock. No night life at all. Everybody is so laid back here. Love it now though, all except the 'zone'. Just a couple of zones warmer would be nice.
I think this map is terrific. It's great to see where everyone lives. Waving hi to Brenda.
i typed in my town and postal code and it would not take it any sugestions? is it because our community is so small.
Hi broots you are almost a neighbour, i live only a little south of you.
Hi there trailingon, Cochrane, ON wasn't on the list either, only Cochrane, AB & I just emailed them & asked for it to be added & then checked the following day & it was there.
Is Dobie anywhere near KL? I've heard of it just don't know where you are located exactly.
