Here is the other angle in the shop!
McCool, yes we did enjoy the refuge we saw 9 blue herons, an osprey, many many many Canada geese, lots of ducks and a beautiful sunrise. Will post some pictures when I down load them
Coffee and...For Tuesday, April 11, 2006 =^..^=
McCool, a click-click sprinkler is one of those that has a stake that goes in the ground. It sprays around in a circle saying click-click-click-click, then it turns back the other way and goes ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhooooo, click-click-click-click.
I'd read the package for the proper name, but it's out in the burn bucket somewhere.

Well, I am back. Supper turned out well, roast pork loin, buttered peas (canned) some oven browned potatos, green beans and rolls. Helped DH freeze some fish after supper, he went fishing yesterday, and caught about 45 crappie. Good sized ones, so we froze them to use during the summer/autumn/winter/spring. Honest to goodness, we have 2 freezers full, why don't all of you come to Ky, and I will host a genuine southern fish fry, hush puppies and slaw.
Joyous, once DH started my tiller, it was no problem for me to start during the day. I admit I go nuts the first time I am able to get out and get things done. I still have a bed where the dahlias go to till, and 3 flower beds at DM's to till. DH had pooh poohed my "little tiller", and today, he actually took it to the veggie garden to till around the cabbage and broccoli, and the peas. He said, that is one sweet little machine. So another convert!!
Darius, will you call a service person to come tend to the freezer? If it is a warped door, it is probably not something that we mere mortals could successfully fix.
M5, gosh, you did get a lot done. The garage, is DH's domain, so I just go in and get what I need, (if I can find it) and he takes care of straightening and cleaning it.
Maria, yes those are pretty creatures, but they are not pretty when they invade my gardens, flowers or vegetable either one. We have tons of deer here. We have a woods behind our house, and we can sit on the deck in the evenings, and they will come out and graze. Pretty brazen also. This morning, fairly early, I was out, and it was so peaceful and quiet, and heard the wild turkeys calling from the woods. The birds are just chirping their little hearts out, and tonight, stepped outside on the deck, and boy could you hear the frogs!!
McCool, glad you enjoyed the card. Hope that your cold/flu is getting better every day. What is your favorite Indian food dish? I went with a neighbor last summer to an Indian restaurant, and as I had never eaten Indian, just followed her lead. I can say that I neither have a good or bad opinion. Really don't know what I ate. The only thing I told her was that I did not want any lamb. On my next
try, if you suggest something, I will give it a whirl.
GG, that salad sounds wonderful. I have resolved that we are going to eat more salads, because we both could stand some lighter meals. Glad that you got your birthday present early. Grin. Sounds like a good day to me.
Sarv, that Chinese salad sounds really good also. Glad that you can sit and wait for DH to bring the food. I have never been that lucky. And besides, don't know if anything DH would make would be identifiable or edible. Guess the thought would count also. Where in the world have you been? Never had banana pudding, now that is one really good dessert. I think that is may be a southern dish. No pot luck here is complete without one banana pudding.
Molly, glad all the dogs are getting along. I knew that given a couple of days to do the sniffing, etc, that it would work out. The sprinklers sound like it will be sufficient to water everything you have. Will your well handle all the watering? Wouln't want you to have to have water hauled.
dmc, I am fine, my back did give some twinges today, but I completely ignored them, and am feeling fine. Hey, don't worry about the W+, when you are able to get out and start to work, those pounds will start to melt away.
Viann, you are quite the cheerleader. Hope that you can keep the weight loss participants motivated.
DR, although you haven't posted today, you have been in my T&P. Since dahlias seem to be your "plant of choice", why don't you buy a special one, and plant in memory of your DB? That way, whenever you looked at the dahlia, it would remind you of happier times long ago.
101, hope that you have enjoyed your company. You will have to sign in and tell us what you fed them. You always have some really good sounding recipes. I always drool when you fix the "sizzling shrimp" dish. It probably is not called that, but that is the picture I have in my mind.
lauriewilson, please tell us about Salsa. What did you find out? Hope it is something treatable and he will be fine.
Well, DH and I both have appointments with the chiro in the morning. I need to make a stop at Lowes, then if indeed the weather people are right, and it is raining, have a few indoor projects that can have my attention. I need to take the tomato babies to the garage and put them under grow lights, so will probably do that, plus, I need to put the finishing touches on a birthday gift I am making for a neighbor. If the weaher people are wrong,and we get no rain, I will be outside again tilling, planting, and pulling weeds. Oh how I love spring!!
Well, off to do some other things, may be back, but if not, have a good peaceful, restful night.
Ann, the kids are darling... but I could just wallow in those crocuses!
Hi all
Finally got here again tonight. Whew ... don't seem to have as much puter time as I like with spring! It looks like everyone has had nice days, though. :)
Defoe~ have missed you. Thanks for the compliments on my recipes. I get most on the net, so can't take credit for them. We had fajitas for supper tonight. Turned out good. One of those copycat recipes.
Lauri~ did you ever get a report on the horse? Hope he will be okay.
Meezers~ oooh, slow down! So glad you didn't get buried!
Joy~ all those sweets from the Amish and Mennonites sound wonderful!
Maria~ so sorry to hear about your deer problems. :-(
Carol~ still saying prayers for your family tonight.
Happy birthday again to McCool and Kelly!! So glad you both had a nice day! :)
Hugs to all ...
~~~Elaine
Yes I have overdone and it even hurts to sit on my computer chair. Can't pick a spot on my body that doesn't hurt. But I just keep doing don't I???
The least hurt is my shoulder. Isn't that ironic. My back and my buttock are the worst and my feet are really barking. LOL
Well, that's all I'm going to say today, I bet you were glad you waited for that.
Susan
=^..^=
I did manage to get the daily started...
Hope to be more cheerful tomorrow.
Maria,
They are beautiful animals,,,when they're not eating our plants,,,LOL
M5,
Filet stirfry sounds wonderful.
McCool,
Happy Birthday to you also. Terrible to be sick on your b-day,,,,yuk! I did enjoy my day although they are never long enough. I guess we always have Something to complaine about. Bill asked me last night if I wanted to go to Eau Claire (about 60 miles) tonight for dinner,,,told him I would get much more relaxation and enjoyment if we went Sat. night,,,so we're going then,,,he also asked what I wanted for my birthday,,,told him I got it already,,,he got his job back,,,
Joy,
Thank-You,,,,I love it also,,,in fact I don't think Gran was out the door yet and I had a bowl out and had that for breakfast. I think I ould eat the whole thing at one time,,,LOL Shop will be so cute when you get it all organized.
dcat,
Good ole fish fry sounds great,,,let us know when,,,LOL Yes, I did get an early b-day present,,,Bill getting back to himself. He's the type of person who has to be busy all the time with something that makes him feel like he's accomplishing something. Since we didn't have much money put away, he couldn't really do things in the house that need to be done,,,,so he was terribly bored,,,which means terribly grumpy. I tried giving him a few suggestions about how he could fill his time and all I got were kinda grunt sounding noises. He's now back to feeling usefull and therefor back to himself. Thanks God!!
Ann,
I'm like Darius,
The kids are really precious and look like they love their bikes, however those Crocus' really are beautiful.
Well, Thanks again everyone for all the wonderful birthday wishes,,,,they all really meant a lot to me.
Kelly
Darius, that freezer can be adjusted. We had to do that with ours when it was moved and then had a huge gap too. You can adjust the hinges on top and bottom. Try it.
Happy Birthday, McCool and GG!
Ann, thanks for saying I can talk to you guys. But I don't want to be the negative person here at times. That 1 1/2 # sounds great. I am walking and moving dirt in the yard so I am trying too. Just need to get some weight off for that dang swimsuit in less than a month now! Love the pics of the kids riding their bikes. I remember those days, sigh! I also like the pics of the crocuses. Tho you sure are behind me now. Mine have already bloomed a month ago. LOL
Sarv, was it from me those calla lilies??? I think so. I just looked up on my trade list and it was me. You also had a blue bellflower. Did that make it too???? I'm glad that they are doing well. You can have them. I still am trying to get rid of them in my yard. What a pain in the neck now. Never realized that they could be a problem for me. They do like to spread here.
Thanks, Elaine for your kind thoughts.
Bonnie, that is a great idea. I think I will do that, get a special dahlia. Cool, you have great ideas! The farmers market is opening up this weekend and there usually is a booth from a dahlia farm so will look for one to buy.
Well, today was a nice warm day here in Oregon. I was actually hot, it was up in the mid 60's here.
Ended up hauling more dirt to the backyard.
As for my dad, today is his 86 birthday along with McCool and GG. But he isn't doing well. Is still very weak and tired. Will have his 2nd chemo. tomorrow so shall see how he does. As for my brother, still trying to find his will or will have to go thru probate court and we know nothing about that at all. That will be interesting for sure.
As you can see in the pic is my front yard last week with what is blooming. Even today much more things have popped, like the rhodies blooms.
Well, need to get to bed so nite all.
Carol
