Good Morning,

Well, what do you know, first time for me first up and posting.

My db and dsil brought a dog for us yesterday, an older great dane named Lexus. It was interesting to see the interaction between mine and the new one. Lexy is 7-8 years old. Her former owner sold everything and then had no place for a dog. My db was keeping her at his house until Jeremy and I returned from the job.

Anyway, the new dog is for Jeremy. He's given her the mattress off the old daybed for her to sleep on. The daybed was thrown out by the burn pile. Jeremy is graduating to the futon.

Even tho I don't speak everyday, I am here lurking. I know how to post the new dailies and the links back and forth. So if you would like me to take May, I have no plans to be away that month and would be happy to do it for that month.

Good Morning everyone- frosty here, but sunny...got down to 29 last night. And I did cover things in the greenhouse, but I may have covered dead things too LOL

I was up at 3:30am and finished a book, read for about an hour then went back to bed. Slept good from that time on. I think I am starting on a 'get up' phase again. Much better than laying in bed and thrashing..

This morning when I got up I found half a dozen lupines on the floor- darn cat was sampling them. I tried to replant them, but doubt if they will make it- I am so ticked at that cat. She's outside looking in for now and I'm not making eye contact with her.

Glad Darius checked in - is she staying long with her sister? Hope things run smoothly for them.

My mom called last night from just south of Nashville, TN. I was taking a bath, so DH talked to her. He didn't ask about the storms (men...) They'll be home in 2 days- hooray!! Now I need to get my hinny in gear and clean this pit!

9Kit- wow- how many plants do you have? And how many morning glories??? Do you save your own seeds? Don't they polinate each other? I have several I got from a co-op from Japan. I've never started them - maybe this year. And I've never soaked them - just nicked them and planted them. Tell me what you do when all of them!! Japanese beetles love them here and it is always a battle with them...some years they win and others I win!

Well, I head DH trimming his beard (he was looking like an ill kept Kenny Rogers) I need to go check him out!

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Good morning Molly! And everyone else! A new dog to join your family! And a big one, at that! What a shame to lose his family at his age, but lucky that he came to you. Nice to see you back, we suspected you were lurking, but busy. All your new plants must be thriving now with the warmer weather. We had a good frost last night, which probably isn't our last. I'd like to put that big potted geranium out on the deck after it's long winter in the dinette. It keeps blooming and dropping petals on the floor.

After losing two long blathers yesterday, I'm relieved to find out it's not me.....it is so annoying to see them disappear. I had no updates on new posts either, so something is awry in the works. (I'm copying this just to be safe.)

Susan we saw Ice Age II on Friday, but I didn't get to see the end because DH is always ready to hit the door before the crowd gets on their feet, thanks for the details!! We liked it as much as the first one. Very clever. Somehow the Disney animations don't come out as well as theirs.

Ann and Bonnie, I had to look and see if I still had my bicycle scar! I took my sister's Schwinn out for a little spin, (I wasn't supposed to) ran myself off in a ditch and hit the barb wire fence,, nice long bloody scratch. Had to blame it on the neighbor's cat to cover up my dirty deed. There will be a pale image of it when my legs get tan this summer, but for now it's not visible. Can't wait to see the twins on their new bikes!

Mary, that incident is enough to upset anyone. It always seems to have more impact in a small community. Postal jobs are very stressful...my SIL works there, they treat the employees like backward children, the evaluations are frequent and lengthy, and many of the managers have been promoted beyond their capabilities, and take their petty grudges and views with them. Employees get frequent memos and little "reminders" of the fact that they are being observed by cameras at all times. And I do mean ALL times. Would you want to work in a place where you knew your employer thought you were an idiot, didn't trust you, and constantly reminded you that you were being watched? No thanks.

She has had surgery for carpal tunnel injuries twice, due to the manual sorting of mail that she did for years. Now they want her to find a job somewhere else, but aren't willing to give her workmen's comp. They have her on restricted duty, which means no lifting bags or sorting mail, and every time she gets a new supervisor, they try to make her do the jobs she has been told by their own doctors NOT to do. They can't fire her, but they sure make her life miserable. She's looking forward to retirement.

So happy that some of you were able to get out and get your hands dirty yesterday. I have those lilies I potted, sitting alongside the garage wall, and the frost hasn't seem to hurt them. They aren't doing much though. Did all the green house plants survive, Sarv? Naughty kitty! Looking for a spring salad??

~~~ to all, off to the shower, and out to breakfast, Might have to order the country fried steak after reading Elaine's dinner menu ....love that country gravy. See y'all later...
Sheila
Schroon Lake, NY(Zone 4a)
hi all! Sunny and 24 here, brrrrrr.
Molly-hi! thanks for the update on darius. Would love to see a picture of Lexy!
sarv-I hope your plants survived. Sorry about the lupines. I didn't think cats would nibble them. My cats definitely prefer daylily seedlings!
Elaine-Glad the worst weather passed you by and that you got some rain.
9kitty-I think you win the prize for garden work for yesterday! wow! impressive amount of greenery! I like light hearted movies these days - enough drama in the real world for me!
Ann-the grandkids are just so precious! See, there's life after teenagers!! It sounds like such a joy to have them.
Mary- That's awful about the PO shooting. I guess it's everywhere. No rhyme or reason.....Glad you got to ride. I was talking to my horse friends about endurance riding, I think I may be more suited to 10 miles at a pop connected by coffeeshops!! I hope to "get horsing" today after church.
m5-congratulations on your crocus! how cold did you get last night?
McCool-I hope you're feeling better. Ugh on the nasty viruses....Enough already
GG-Speaking of "enough already" I hope you're luck is all turned around now!
Off to clean myself up for church - Palm Sunday-have a great day all!!
Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)
I wanted to get a photo of all 3 dogs together so you could get a feel for the size of Lexy. Less that 24 hours acquainted, they are not ready for a shared photo-op.
Here's Lexy and ds.
I will let Darius update yall on her improved relationship with her sister and her move down.
We had lots of rain last night (I am so happy about that) so after restocking our larders at the market today, I hope to put in some of the native plants I bought yesterday morning. It's overcast and cool now so a perfect time for gardening.
I'll catch yall later. :^)))
Wow! That is a gorgeous dog, but large.....I wouldn't want to spend a whole north country winter cooped up with a dog that big!!
Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)
Good morning. There's just enough light to see that it is frosty. No big surprise. Hubby just read the thermometer, 28.
Wow, BIG dog, Molly. It's really nice of you to give him a home. He looks like he could put his front paws on a person's shoulders pretty easily and be nose to nose with you. I'll be looking forward to hearing about Darius' new relationship with her sister, which I hope will be good for both of them.
One of the ways I loose posts and get the "page cannot be found" message is that my internet connection is not connected. So I have learned to go down to my start menu, and get connected again and then click send. If I get the page not found message, I click BACK, go to START and get connected and then send it. Learned that the hard way.
I think that part of the reason that we see postal employees (and others too) doing things like killing their bosses is because of seeing so much killing in the movies and tv and video games. It is so casual, the plot goes on and often there are no consequences. People see it as a solution to their problems. Same with school kids who do things like the Columbine shooting. So now there is a family without a wife and mother, and one without a father and husband since the killer will likely spend the rest of his life at the Graybar Hotel (prison), and a town that will never be quite the same. More on this from time to time as the case develops. It takes a long time to get these cases to trial, the case is scheduled for Grand Jury on Wednesday and then other court dates will be set, mental evaluations, delays, etc. In the old west he would have already been tried and hanged, or just lynched.
We are going to Boise today so will be gone all day. Have a great day everyone.
Gravois Mills, MO(Zone 6a)
Remember I told you a tornado story not long ago???? I told you about a man and his family caught in it. Well he has been charged with child molestation in the first degree. Now I have known him well for over 12 years. I have fished with him and everything else. I am shocked. I should have seen something I think as I have had training about peodphiles. There was absolutley no indication. Even in this small town nobody has any tips on what he is suppose to have done. Everyone is shocked.
Hi, Gang! I made it safely to Kissimmee, which is a miracle. I was too tired to even drive, plus there was a high wind advisory. I have a platform in the back of my truck above the wheel wells and everything was on top of the platform so my center of gravity was quite high.
Therefore, I took the back roads rather than the interstate and turnpike. Surprise, surprise, the traffic was light (I've taken that route many times) and I was only half an hour behind my sister who drives too fast in my opinion and she took the fast roads.
This AM we unloaded both vehicles into the 2 car garage. Left some stuff at Molly's due to lack of space. Molly has offered to "babysit" more of my plants that are here so I may make a trip back in a couple of weeks with plants and get more stuff I couldn't pack. Price of gas is a killer, averaging $2.79 but saw some as high as $2.94 just for regular!
Hope to get my own computer hooked up tomorow. I can't remember the password for my regular email, so can't check it from this computer LOL.
Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)
Hi every one,
have been lurking reading every body's post through the week. I have been busy with the garden, the young man who helpd cutting lawns and other garden work was here, ordering MG for my earth boxes, they delivered it yesterday, getting things staightened out with the accountent. Seems I have to get to the market more often then usual to buy food for Samson, he is such a glutton, lol
That is a good sized pet, Molly,looks as large as Samson, if not bigger also nice to see a picture of your good looking son. I hope Darius is going to enjoy to be with her sister and not end up as they didthe last time, just wish for both of them the very best.
I have been writing the above quite a few hour ago, my daughter stopped by , we had a nice visit walked around the garden but had to put Samson in the car, he goes beserk when any one comes , I don't seem to be able from stop him from doing that.
Talk about nibbling plants, earlier I discovered something is eating up my tulips, some were even pulled out of the ground because it is quite soggy after all that rain but only the foliage was eaten, probable a naughty bunny, :-(
I have a friend I spend a couple of hours with on Suday afternoons, always have tea with her, she just returned from Florida after a month it where she has a home, it will be nice to see her again.
SYL and hello to all of you lovely people
.
waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)
Beautiful dog!! Lexy looks well cared for. Nice glossy coat, alert and watchful! Just put him in the front yard for a while and you won't be bothered by any unwanted guests!!
Thanks for the update Darius, I don't see much difference in time on the back roads either. If I take the Xway instead of the two laner down to where I do my shopping, the difference is less than 8 minutes, and is a heck of a lot easier on the gas comsumption. I paid $2.79 to fill up with mid-grade yesterday, and this morning out with DH he filled the truck with midgrade for $2.59. Grrrrrrr. Would have been worth the trip. I have a little notebook by my computer with all my passwords listed in it, because I can't remember squat! Hope this visit with your sister works out better than the previous ones. If you two decide to live together will the daughter come along?
Still waiting for that mini food processor I bought on Ebay when the dishwasher melted my work bowl for my little chopper. Paid for it on 3/14, got an email from the seller after I questioned him about it, saying he had some personal difficulties, still hasn't sent it. The tracking number shows he printed a label through the site on the 24th, but that's all. Maybe he didn't like selling it for 99 cents, although the shipping was over $10. If I don't see it in my mailbox tomorrow I'm going to create some heat.
I'm goin outside, plant some sweet peas, and some moonflowers, smack some weeds (the ones that look just like dcat's) and maybe dig up the rudbeckia and move it. DH is off to "sweep" his buddy's yard, they split the cost of the sweeper. Much better than doing your own chores....uh huh. Where's that 2X4??
Did have the country fried steak this morning, yummy. Now I have to go work it off...frost melted quickly and it's supposed to be in the sixties all week!! Sure hope so. Have a sunny day everyone!
Later!
Sheila
Edited to say Hi to Maria....are you feeding him the recommended amount for his weight? Dogs will eat as much as you give them whether they need it or not. They are beggars too, always wanting a handout. He needs to learn sit and stay at his puppy school. It's just like raising kids, consistency and you being the *Big Dog*, as they ae pack animals. Isn't it nice to get outside for a change? When are your DG visitors coming? That will be such a treat for you!!
I do feed him the recommended amount, Sheila, he does eat everything een my grapes and bananas he just sits there waiting forme to give him a bite, lol how can I refuse him but he never gets anything else of my food.
Yes, it is wonder ful to be able to get out of doors and hoping there will be no more snow of no importance!!-
Late afternoon here and I just finished off the last of the ice cream. It is like cigarettes for me - I just am not happy until it is gone...then I will moan about not having any and buzz to the store for more...
Darius - glad to see that you arrived safely - gas prices are the pits. I was at our little local station when ours went up 16 cents...They are saying 3 bucks by this summer...who's getting rich? I like back roads much better than the x-ways except when I get behind a real poker and can't pass.
I've been outside for several hours - but it is chilly here despite the sun. A cold breeze coming from VI! LOL but is supposed to warm up and up this upcoming week. My beds still need a lot of work...tomorrow..
Molly that is one huge dog!! You won't have any unwanted visitors now!! Those kind of dogs are magnificient! They can almost look you in the eye! I've planted all of your white 4 o'clocks and they are all doing wonderfully!
Maria, that Samson is such a card and a big begger!! He eats fruit! At least it's not cookies! On my garden walk I noticed that several of my tulips were bitten right off - deer! I walked in my neighbors garden and she had the whole bulb pulled out of the ground!
So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)
Maria! DON'T GIVE SAMSON GRAPES!
http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/raisins.asp
Grapes killed my beloved Morgan, put her in renal failure and she was dead in 6 days. I had occasionally given her a grape or two over the years, but this time it was fatal.
Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)
Ok, Darius I won't, sheesh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope I have not done him any harm ;-(
Central, WI(Zone 4a)
ooooo, long post,,,,poof, glad I copied it.
Hi All,
After Sunday School, I decided I have been a slug all winter, it is Beautiful outside and I'm going to get the blower out and blow the leaves off the 2 Front Gardens. Got one completely done and the big one about 2/3 of the way done. Had to quit,,,arms were getting too tired. (Note to self,,,,don't put so many leaves on beds this Fall!!!!!!!!)
Found all kinds of stuff coming up,,,daylilies, tulips, striped squills, Pulmonaria (which I can hardly believe cause that stuff hates me,,,won't ever come back a second year), Cornflower, crocus, Allium,,,even my 'Pineapple Upsidedown Cake' hosta has a leaf that didn't die,,,LOL So far all my Heuchera look good also. 8 hostas coming up in the bed on the East side right next to the house. Have had bunnies nibbling here and there,,,will put hair down tomorrow to keep them away. Would like to use a 22,,but am in town so can't do that,,,maybe a BB will do the trick.
Molly,
what a big sweetie pie,,,,Lexy looks just wonderful. Bet she will be fun to have around.
sarv,
Men,,,here's the 2 x 4,,,give him a good one. I always nick and soak my Morning Glory seeds,,,works great. Have little tails to plant.
M5,
That's so not fair when companies make your life miserable just cause you can't do certain things,,,wish there was something that could be done about that. Sure hope for that guys sake, your food processor is in the mail tomorrow,,,LOL,,,Poor guy if it isn't. As soon as sarv is done with 2 x 4,,,grab it.
dmc,
Thanks, I hope it has,,,LOL
Mary,
You're story is so disturbing. I'm sure you whole town is in shock. Hope you had a good day in Boise.
oz,
What a slime ball. oooo, what I wouldn't like to do to people like that,,,grrrrrr Glad they caught him!
darius,
Glad the trip went well. I also keep a steno pad in my puter drawer for all my passwords,,,if I didn't I would constantly be "clicking here if you forgot your password",,,LOL So sorry to hear that's what took Morgan.
Maria,
Mooshka loves certain fruits also. Cantaloupe, Watermelon, Oranges,,,,can't remember which other ones,,,,likes corn on the cob also,,,really funny to watch her,,,Bill will hold the cob and she will work on it with her front teeth,,,LOL Have a nice visit with your friend.
Well, was going to take a quick nap,,,may still do it. Gonna make fish for dinner tonight, so won't take that long. Bill is out this afternoon (Hallelujah)
Hi to all who haven't checked in yet.
BBL,
Kelly
Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)
Spent the day cleaning up beds and fertilizing. My irises were under a ton of leaves and a couple seem to be gone. Others are up nicely and gave them all a nice dose of Black Kow and bone meal. I'll wait a little longer before I give them anything stronger. I have had so much better bloom results since using Peter's Bloom Booster that I am going to use it on everything. I might even try some triple phosphates. Our soil is very low in phosphates here.
I divided some Louisiana iris and plan to pot some and submerge it in my pond and sent some to jerodsmom. Well, the package is in the car and ready to be mailed tomorrow.
I also dug up old brug stumps, watered everything in the greenhouse (a daily chore) and worked in the rock garden. I am tired and sore now. Glad my spousal unit is cooking.
He has spent the last month widening our driveway and leveling more parking space all with a shovel and wheelbarrow. I can't count how many stumps and rocks, some quite large, he has dug out. Now he has planted the top of the bank and down along the rest of it in vinca minor which he got from a neighbor. What he planted earlier is already blooming.
Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)
Hi everyone,
Just checking in for now. Back later or tomorrow for commentary. LOL
Have a question for Sheila re Moonflower. I bought some seeds. Was surprised to find they were 3 times the size of morning glory seeds. I've soaked them for 24 hrs and they are still hard as rocks. If I try to nick them, what should I use? Or should I just soak them another day?
BBL.
Ann
Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)
Ann, I have sometimes soaked mine for a week, they eventually kind of crack and you plant them. I have some now that are soaking. Yes they are 3 times the size of MG seeds. They will get bigger than that when they finally soak enough.
Lookie here, here's me HAPPY!! The sun is shining! I "went horsing" all day. Put a saddle on Tully for the first time (she's one year old this month). She was great with it. Then my friend and I spent over four hours trail riding. I rode Jared again. Just had to share my big old smile.....
What a day you all have had. The sun was great but the wind waas brrrrrr cold.
Sarv I was up fro 3 till alomst 5 am, I'M'd with lani for quite awhile , read and finished a Stephen White book called "Cold Case" and am now am starting as my woodstove book Lisa Jackson's "Final Scream".... still haven't decided on my book for bed. Ya ahould have given me a kick in the butt I made Blueberry Grunt arount 4:30 am and had it ith my fav ice cream. Now to all of you after your day is over please have some warm Blueberry Grunt either over ice cream or whipped cream. Know ,be FOREWARNED I am notorious for baking around the 3 - 5 am hours as I cannot sleep..... just forget others are awake and might want a piece. Please so help yourself. Just started
apple sauce so tomorrow's surprise will have that in it at least.
Now Sarv we need to have a serious talk as we are both voracious reads - ummmmm how can we exchange titles???????
Hey Grannie Ann how was the BD blast? Loved the pics.
Just need to clarify a few things with my mIL in her new nursing home. She arrived quite unexpectedly the second week in Janaury.... was immediately placed in a Semi although she only has coverage for WArd and we will not be paying the semi rate. When DH and I arrived on Wed they explained they will be keeping her there at the ward rate and go ahead and decorate. The first 2 days off in a row I will drive up and paint her section of the room whatever colour she wants plus hang her pics of her kids, Grandkids etc. Gaye as my MIlL is known is in seventh heaven. Thank God someone has looked down on her and smiledTomorrow she will be able to have a telphone installed into her room with her OWN number, I have placed a Pass word on it for the long distance calls so everybody and their aunt can't pick up the phone and call Timbuktu. The home itself has been fantastic. We have abeen apprised of all situations including lossof the money. a couple of falls in the shower room and some agitation revealed later at night. We're are all new at this and we will consider ourselves SO lucky to have this placement.Warren and I live the farthest away plus still work many regular hours.We have a 2 - 3 hour drive one day on a warm summer day, the rest are closer and inbetween,Enough bellyaching.......
What did you all do this grand weekend??????
Hugs and smiles across the miles
O.K. Third and final time if this goes poof too everything will be tossed out the *$^^@ door and into the rain!!!! Well yes I am cranky. I am having an affair with my heating pad currently.
Hi to all and..
Molly, wow what a dog!!! Love the picture, he looks happy. My dog has always picked and ate her own grapes...going to have to pull the vine and get rid of it...
Dmc, she is a beauty. And looks like she is going to be big when she grows up.
Can't remember what all said but to all I hope you have sunshine in your gardens and mud under your nails :) and all is growing and going great for you
I have to go DMSO and rewrap Salsa and then muck again. That horse can sure poo..
Take Care...Hugs to all.....Lauri
Himrod, NY(Zone 6a)
Well I started this once befoe and forgot it when the phone rang, so here I go again. Has anyone heard from D'cat? I know there were bad storms out her way and was wondering if anyone has connected with her.
We are in for another cold night, last night it got down to 21* and the gh got down th 42* lower than I like but the electric heater was on high. Everything looked good this morning and great this afternoon.
Molly the dog looks like a small pony to me, hope he is a pussycat!
Sarv and kg, you drive me nuts with your reading. I have to hide my books or I would get nothing done if it is a busy time around here. But give me a day or two off and I can't put them down. Read the whole Mitford series by Jan Karon during February. What a great series if you like sweet and homey. At a dr. appt. for my Dh I was reading an early book in the series and the lady next to me had the latest! What a Hoot!
Dmc, great picture and you look so happy!
Am trying to get my business in shape for opening day the 29th but I am dragging my feet and must stop it. Tomorrow I go paint the walls a soft yellow and hopefully start setting up. Our son leaves for the Virgin Is. to visit his sister on Tuesday so I lose a whole day getting him to the airport and messing around at a large wildlife refuge on the way home, big Easter dinner with df,db and ds and their family at mom's nursing home Sunday and then a missionary conference the 23rd thru the 26th at church I think my work is cut out for me. I'm in charge of the kitchen and getting food in for the different events during the week. All I have to do is get a thousand or so minis set up with out playing dominos to many times. I will be trying to keep up with you all and I forgot that on top of all of this I want to play outside. Busy, yes, but thankful to never be bored.
~~~~~~~~~~to all,

Joy

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Hey Joyous, thanks for asking about me. Yes we did have storms Friday afternoon, and Friday night, quite a few tornados, but none very close. That was thoughtless of me, I will try to let you all know that I am okay. Hey, I feel like a kid again, mom is worring about me!! My gosh, slow down, please your schedule sounds like it may belong to several people.

I've read all, enjoyed the dog, horse pics, dmc, that is a purdy horse, is that Jared or Tulley? You can still see thre winter coat, they almost look like bears until that sheds, and yeah your smile is contageous. Molly, that dog is a small pony. Have already forgot her name. Oh, Lexy, looks like somebody has already bonded!!

Lauriewilson, are still having the page not found issues? I hope not, it makes me think some dirty things. What's wrong with Salsa? Going out in the rain, and mucking out, that is enough to make anybody cranky. Are you having aches and pains? If so, hope the heating pad helps.

KG, wish you and Sarv were closer, we could have our own Not Slumber Party. I tend to roam in the wee hours also. Went to bed last night, and was there about 45 minutes, coughing my head off, so came to the couch, and still coughing, so just got up and read. Count me in as a voracious reader. I read istead of watch tv. Can't stand that drivel on the tube. Glad all is working out for mil. Sometimes they are not that satisfied.

Viann, will you plant the moon flower inside for now?

Kittymom, do you start the morning glory inside then transplant it out when the weather is nice?

GG, those leaf blowers get heavy don't they? They are really good for uncovering the beds though.

Woodspirit, I was wondering if I needed to fertilize iris. I will just give them some bone meal for the time being.

Darius, I didn't know that dogs weren't supposed to have grapes/raisins. I knew about chocolate, but not grapes.

Maria, oh, no, please don't give Samson any more, we don't want anything to happen to him.

Sarv, laughed about ice cream being worse/better than cigarettes. That addicting huh? I don't care for sweets, I eat some ice cream occasionally, but I have a lactose intolerance, and I pay for eating it.

Oz, I can't believe that man. If you had been around him, and not noticed anything. Oh, yes, I can, several years ago, there was a man in this community, who purported to be christian, took in several troubled boys, and later was proved to be a pedophile, and child molester. As far as I know, he is still in prison. What did Mary call it Greybar Hotel. LOL

Darius glad you made the trip okay. You must enlighten us about the renewed relationship with DS.

M5, sounds like breakfast was really good. I usually don't care for breakfast if I am home, but when we are on vacation, breakfast is my favorite meal. Will usually eat breakfast, then nothing until dinner.

Well, hope I didn't leave anybody out, but due to the sleepless night last night, the eyes are getting heavy. So will try to be a little better tomorrow.

Have a peaceful night.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Hi there, I'm gonna try to catch up since I've got a few minutes now.
Have been working on some large database efforts for the International Viola congress organizers - downloading and organizing all the US businesses the Strad Magazine's on-line directory so they can hopefully recruit more advertising in the program book or even get them to display instruments or music related items in the trade show end of the Congress. Glad to be just helping this time. I did it all by myself in 1999 as well as handling registration and I was up till 2 am on a regular basis.

Molly, nice to have you report in once in awhile. Hope all goes well with the new dog.

Susan, how do you keep so many types of morning glory separated? And where do you put them all? They don't like the same conditions as Hostas; so you must have a lot of space.

dmc - yes! There is life after teenagers, but you need to keep in touch with those whose kids are a bit older than yours.

Actually, I'm going to have to finish this tomorrow; so good night all.

Ann

Whew! It's been a long day. Seems like Sundays are just so busy, and I usually don't get to coffee until late. I always miss chatting with y'all when I don't get to stop by. :)

Molly~ how nice for you to have a new companion. Well, even if it's Jeremy's ... it's there for you to love too. LOL Don't blame you. I'd have to give her a home, too. :)

Sarve~ had to LOL at the mental image of your shaggy "Kenny Rogers" of a DH! :)

Meezers~ what kind of geranium do you have? Is it just a plain ole or scented? I'm wanting to try some scented pels but haven't started on those yet. LOL Yum, your breakfast did sound good. I only like breakfast maybe on Saturdays though if we sleep in ... except love it on a cold winter night for supper. LOL

Hi DMC~~. Yep, you *sure* sound happy! LOL

Mary~ sure hope you had a nice time in Boise.

Oz ... terrible story!

Darius~ glad you made it safe.

Hi Maria~ so you have nauty bunnies? Hmmm, guess everyone has their own pest to put up with! LOL Mine are still those squirrels!

Well speaking of bike accidents ... the DH and I use to ride a tandom and in the south you have to be careful of sand. He took a sharp turn and ooops ... over we went! The bike fell on me as I wasn't prepared ... didn't see it coming! LOL Anyway, broke my finger. hehehe Now I always say that dirty rotten broke my finger!! LOL LOL

Meezers, I'm lucky ... I keep my passwords in a little book right on my desk so it will be handy too. Mine are in Braille, though, so don't have to worry about anyone reading them. ;)

Wow Kelly, sounds like things are really coming up in your garden now. Spring is definitely on the way, huh? Oh yeah ... how's the coOp coming? Hope things are running smoothe for you. :) Am praying and holding my breath for Bill on Monday.

Woodspirit~ sounds like your spousal unit has been *real* busy at your place! LOL Whew, makes my back hurt just reading about it. :)

Dianne~ so glad the nursing home situation is working out so well for your MIL. It sure is fortunate when it does. :) Oh ... I'm glad you like to bake. I have a sweet tooth from time to time but don't care to do that task just for myself. The DH doesn't eat sweets and it's just no fun for one. I'll drop by tomorrow and see what the surprise is! LOL

Well, it's taken me forever to write this, so I'm just going to wave to everyone else and hope you'll forgive me for not mentioning you by name. Got to put this bod in the bed!!

Ann this is my first year for growing this many varieties. I don't know how I am going to keep them separated. The seeds are easy, I use popsicle sticks and have made a sheet with the name and number and then put the number on the stick.

Now when I actually plant them out, I have no idea how to do that. I do have a lot of room, a lot of fence and a lot of determination. LOL I hope to have a morning glory heaven right around the hosta heaven. ROFL

Speaking of the hosta heaven, I bet I look like an idiot wandering among the many hostas..... looking to see if I can see a little sprout here, a little leaf there, kind of purring at them, they are so wonderful and growing so fast. Every morning when I go out, they are a lot bigger, I bet if I could stay out overnight I could actually see them grow. I am loving every minute of this.

I planted 40 impatiens today and need to buy three more flats at a minimum, probably more. I put out some of the coleus have two more flats of that to do and the flats of sweet potato vines of course.

The clematis are getting fat flower buds, can't wait on those. The azaleas that I thought were going to be lost to the super cold are looking soooooo good. That means the humming birds should be here soon. and then my life will be complete as I said before. LOL

If all these flowers didn't require so much work on my part I might enjoy it more. I can hardly sit because of the pain in my rear, my back screams at me, my shoulder isn't happy and I can hardly walk on my neuopathy feet. Other than that, I love it.

I need to get the hyacinth bean vine started too and the castor beans. I swear I don't know if I am going to make it or not.

Just quit moanin' and 'git 'er done.....

Susan

dcat,
This is the first time I've used one for an extended period of time. They do get heavy after a couple of hours,,,the worst thing tho is after I stopped using it,,,my hands and arms were still vibrating,,,LOL Couldn't hardly do much except shake for about an hour or so,,,weird feeling,,LOL Will finish the rest tomorrow. Fore arms are kinda sore,,,used muscles I haven't used since last year,,,LOL It's bound to get worse as the summer starts. About the time I'm not sore anymore,,,it'll be fall again,,,especially going and picking all those rocks and shoveling all that composted manure,,,,I'm sore just thinking about it,,,LOL,,,Glad to hear none of the storms got too close,,,,,still scary.

Ann,
Methinks you are just as busy after your retirement,,,slow down and enjoy it already,,,LOL Still have to get over to your site and seet the new pics that are up.

Elaine,
My Mom always taught me it's better to be worth more alive than you are dead. It's a good thing to remember,,,LOL I don't know if I'd be ridin' that bike anymore,,,LOL It's amazing how many things are coming up,,,have to get some stuff moved while it's still small,,,I may work on that tomorrow afternoon,,,after I finish blowing the leaves. Won't know anything about the Co-op for sure until Marie and I talk to Steve on Sat. the 15th. I'm glad we can go to the meeting and give him an actual number of people that are interested. Thanks for your prayers for Bill tomorrow,,,I sure hope he gets that call, I'm praying also,,,have been for 2 weeks on this one. If I didn't know better I'd think God would eventually get tired of my whining and say alright already,,,leave me alone for awhile,,,LOL

Susan,
Sounds like witht he exception of the body not wanting to cooperate you're having a grand ole time,,,,can't wait til stuff starts coming that fast here. I'm going to take daily pics,,,LOL Just know when to quit,,,we don't want you overdoing it!

Well, it's WAY past my bedtime,,took a short snap this afternoon so wasn't tired yet,,,now, I can hardly keep my eyes open.

See you all tomorrow,
Kelly
