Hi All,

I'm on a quick lunch break so wanted to pop in and say Hi.

Bill has the South half of the Salon roof done. He's going to wait to start the other side as there is rain in the forecast for Thursday (50% chance) and Friday (60% chance). Don't want a nakey roof while it's raining.

Will try to pop in later and comment more. Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi Balvenie. I love the wall color, and the white and mahogany really sets it off. Did you take your color pallet from the picture of the beautiful dog? He/she certainly makes a lovely statement in that setting.

You did good!!

Robt, love the color!

Bonnie, STICK to the DR's prescription about no cooking! LOL. Seriously, I hope the back is better soon.

Just got back from a 60+ mile round trip to town to get the Bamboo Muhly Molly has been wanting. Actually I WANT it too but it's just zones 8-11. Pooh.

Hi to everyone else!

Drat! Does anyone have any whipped cream? Here's the rest of the chocolate thing I made the other night but I left the whipped cream out on the counter ... so there's none for today. :-( Plenty of fresh strawberries, though! :)

Darius, does Molly have a plant nursery in her home?

Oh y'all ... I almost forgot ... there's fresh coffee out, also. :)

Hi Everyone,

Back from volunteering at FC. Took some pics of my yard and call them Promise! Lots of bulbs starting to come up but the back yard has a way to go. However, front yard looked about the same as the back yard does now a few days ago. It's just astonishing how fast the snow goes when spring really does get here.

As far as the bank deposit book, I wasn't doing laundry on Monday. The probable explanation is that I had it in my hand when I accessed the freezer in my laundry room to return food to a neighbour who moved. I had the two top baskets of my freezer full of stuff from hers until she had hers working in the new house. (She just moved across the street to a smaller house, but major renovations meant that the new house wasn't quite ready when they had to be out of the old one.) Why I still had it in my hand is the big question. Anyway, I obviously didn't do laundry on Tuesday either. And this morning I went in there only to get a pair of pants that I had hung to dry.

Here's the first picture of the promise of spring in my yard.

More -
Second picture. If you've looked at the Hosta gag thread, you saw how much snow there was a few days ago. Now it's nearly gone from my front lawn. Next week I might be able to start clearing out some of the leaf mulch.

Robert - like the color of the walls. I agree they set off the photo of the dog very well.
Successor at FC is OK. We just keep telling him what he REALLY has to do. But another volunteer told me that he STILL hadn't printed out the list of inactive clients from the end of February. (We prepared that list last Wednesday. Successor had gone to local resource centre; so I rebooted the computer and printed the list out so Eugene can pull out those inactive files.) He has a student doing a placement with him and doing just about everything. I reckon he'll just go from student to student and never really learn how to do anything. It's not my concern any more.

Welcome back, Flower Child.

Defoe - get yourself to a massage therapist for that back.

Sarv - I agree. Rent the van. Only one person has to drive at a time. You'll all have a good time. (At least we did when we went to my niece's wedding last September).

I thought I already attached the second picture. Hope it doesn't post twice or something stupid like that.

Darius----I drink so little they should throw me out of the Elks.

Sarve----- I am the village clown. I am very fast with making a joke. the problem is if I think someone is against me then I do not know the differance between nuteral and total dislike.

DMC---- It is not that I am arrogant and mean. But if you cut me are hurt me. do not talk to me.

I am sorry ladies but that is they way I have learned to be.

Elaine, no Molly doesn't have a nursery in her yard... yet. LOL.

Bal - that pic is gorgeous!! And I like the wall color too!

It is staying light out so long at night- so much more fun than dreary winter!! I worked outside for a long time today - mostly walking around in the garden and seeing what is peeking up. Need to get the rake out and get it working!!

Darius - is the fire in Fla anywhere near you? I watched it on the evening news tonight. Glad that smoke is around me - I'd be gasping and choking...

Well, not much more news here- I am having a 'sundae withdrawal' I need to get to the store and get some more ice cream...

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Hi everyone, just stopping in for a minute. Had to chuckle abt the lost bankbook. Many years ago we lost one that was never found. We had an 18 month old at the time that had just discovered how much fun it was to throw things in the garbage can - but we didn t realize it until after the garbage was collected. We came to the conclusion that the truck ate it.

And to Mary's question, I tend to be optimistic 99.9 percent of the time. Yup, that gets one burnt from time to time, but can't change spots at this age. When troubles do surround me, I talk less and keep more to myself and pray. :) Since me talking less is noticed at work, pretty soon someone asks if everything is ok and I share and burdens shared become much lighter. Really. And I am very fortunate to have found so many wonderful people at work who have a strong faith that they practice. They rock!

Bal - that picture is awesome - absolutely gorgeous. I'm having a hard time not having a buddy and I think I'm gonna start haunting the Humane Society. Saw a Bichon Frise (sp) in the paper the other day. 10 mo. old female, free! DH wouldn't hear of it. He will take a little work and then one day I'll just arrive home with a new buddy! :D

MIL is doing absolutely wonderful - She needs help with her brace in the am and pm and otherwise is doing all her personal cares. Brace gets dc'd on Fri. so hurrah! I am very surprised she is doing so well. And very thankful too.

Kandyce had a severe headache on Sunday eve. DS called for advice. I told him to call the nurse at Mayo cuz she was less than a week post-op. He called and they recommended going to the ER and get checked out so that s what they did. She was dehydrated but CT scan was ok. Kept her for IV fluids and pain med for 6 hours and sent her home again. Mon. she started to get another headache and she laid down and it went away. She was overdoing it, so hopefully all will go well now.

have a good evening all. Laura

Good day today. DW due home in 20 mins. or so, beef and pasta casserole in the oven browning the Parm. Reggiano, bottle of Viognoir chilling, the kitchen cleaned up, friend John doing well in his stroke rehab, found neat black and gold cord at the fabric store, put up the first crown molding but screwed up the miter cut and have to get some more tomorrow. All in all things are coming together. Gotta check on the oven and set the table.

Well, You all didn't chat as much as I thought you would. I don't sleep when I take pain pills, they just seem to rev me up, although the muscle relaxers are working, and the pain is gone for now. Only took one at about 1:00, sat in the recliner, then to the couch, but didn't sleep. I threw together a mexican enchilada casserole, with a salad, then DH came home and told me that he stopped by DMIL's and older sister had supper, and he ate there. He came within an inch of wearing that casserole.

Well, just wanted to comment, bal, those frames look really good. You sure do good work. Did I tell you I am thinking about signing up at a vocational adult education school for a beginner's woodworking? They teach the basics of using the tools. It is a 5 week course, 2 nights a week, and not far from me. I want to do this, if for no other reason, that those little piddling jobs that I wait ages for DH to "get around to" I can then do myself. I think "but first" and "get around to" are first cousins!!

Viann, my DtwinS also is urging me to go get a massage. She swears by them, and has a standing appointment, once a month for one. I know this sounds silly, but my back is one of the most ticklish areas on my body. Cannot stand for anyone to touch it. Maybe if I explained the situation, they would sort of start gently? Glad the lost bank book showed up.

Kooger, glad to hear DMIL is doing well, and that Kandyce just needs to be less active. Her surgery is so recent, that she doesn't need to be doing much. Especially as serious as it was/is.

Speaking of missing items, M5, did the coffee show up?

Darius, glad that Molly has that cart, it sure would be difficult to carry that water down the drive way. Still with the cart, I imagine that it is a chore. When will you be leaving Mollys? I still (in the back of my mind) want to get down that way.

101, glad to hear that you got the additional work. Does DH know that part of that will be spent on pots, plants/seeds fertilizer? LOL.

Oz, see nothing wrong with your point of view. As long as one knows in advance, your views nobody should take offense. I bet you have that "dry" sense of humor, which I dearly love. I have a dry one too. The other day in the dentist office, they were making an appointment for a 6 month follow up on cleaning, and she mentioned the date, Sept whatever, I said, Oh, I have a lot planned on that day, and taking me seriously begin to name other dates. My dentist, said to her, you sure fell for that one. Who knows what one will be doing 6 months from now, I don't even know what I will be doing tomorrow!!

~~~~~~~ franticallyl at Maria, Marie_Kidneyguy, dmc, cindylily, pattischell, hope I didn't miss anybody. Am gonna try to get in bed, and see if the sandman will visit.
May be back later.
Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)
I have decided I just cant keep up with everything. By the time I read and try to remark, I have forgotten what I read and have to start over. LOL
Sooooooo, I will make a short statement about the positive/negative thing. I think Oz is a really sweet man and would do anything for you. UNLESS, you cross him. LOL, and I wouldn't think of doing that.
He might be sending me a tiny tears hosta. So I have to be nice. Won't remark about what he does to squirrels and other varmints. Hum, that wasn't a remark was it?????
I think I tend toward the negative, although I want to think I am positive. That doesn't make much sense, but I usually think the worst will happen and then am surprised when it doesn't. Everyone told me how positive I was when I was going through the breast cancer surgery, chemo and radiation.
But they didn't live with me, just ask DH how positive I was. LOL
It is really looking like spring finally around here. I love it!! I was worried about a couple of hosta with all the talk of the virus, but I think they just got frost bite the other day. I'm not going to worry, until later when they get bigger and I can tell for sure. Gosh, I hope it's not that. There I go again, see???
Well, I did get the daily up at
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/587277/
so I can accomplish something for the day. LOL
Have a good night everyone, we've almost got March finished.
Kittimom, I sent you D-email
Gravois Mills, MO(Zone 6a)
Well never happened before but lost a post this time.
Susan---- what is your storm situation. i will get whatever your getting now late this evening are else tonight. My wife says the radio does not shut up about the coming storms. Maybe a little paranoid after the last mess we had. You will get the Tiny Tears but i just moved it to a new pot and it will be a couple months.
Defo---- you sound like my twin sometimes. You cannot set still for one thing and i do have a dry sense of humor part of the time the rest of the time who knows. I just love to see people smile. I know that sounds like a lot of counterdictions but I am happy if they are smiling if they are not I wonder why. But I do have that other side like Susan said.
waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)
Darn, I forgot to congratulate Dcat for signing up for the woodworking class! You will have SO much fun!!
