Elaine & Susan,
Thanks so much for the hugs. Methinks 'twil be a rough road ahead. Now I Am going to bed.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

well, drat! We are getting temperatures down into the 20s. All the spring-blooming trees and shrubs are fully open and daffodils are looking great. It's been this way for about a week so at least we won't miss the whole show, but it will be gone today.
After checking DG for some vinca minor, it ends up 2 neighbors had tons of it. The one closest to my house has been abondoned ever since the wife died and the second husband is being sued by her kids. It seems while she was dying, he got her to change the will. I understand the kids won lately, but have not seen anyone there so we raided what was growing down into the ditches. She had a high bank, about 15 feet tall, by the road and had about 200 feet of it growing in the vinca.
We divided a little of ours and planted that about 2 weeks ago and it is clearly established and growing so I am very pleased.
Spousal unit had a list of 15 things to do and he's marked off about 10. As for me, I am overwhelmed with work, writing articles for a newspaper and newsletter, chairing the community adivsors for an effort to start a museum, still preparing archives for the move into the new library, working on local historical designations and doing a little political fund-raising. I am definitely going to drop 2 of these activities soon.
Besides, I have gardening to do.

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Good Morning - still mighty chilly here - in the 20's..Might hit 40 by Sunday they are say -whoopee...

9kit - your anniversary sounds like mine -no big celebrations here either. After all these years, I just want an uneventful day with no trama! Glad kitties pills are all done.

GG - oh dear- Bill is ready to give up already. I do think females are the stronger sex (sorry bal and ernie - you two are the exceptions!) My DH just left for work - expecting more fights with his brother. He goes in before bro gets there to see what bro didn't do! I wish he was 62 so he could quit. Four years seem like forever to put up with this BS.

Mary,good luck on the ride. I think soft food is on the ticket for you until the crown gets it permanent housing. I remember a temp I had and we were at a weenie roast and I chomped down on it. What do you do when it is midnight and your temp is rolling around in your mouth!! Thank goodness a dentist was there (not mine tho) He told me to wash it out, fill the temp with toothpaste and pop it back on. It worked!!

Oh Bal, your honey is gonna be pleased with you!! Looks grand!

Oh McCool - don't give up on chat. Just increase the size of your font and it goes slower. I love it!! Try again...

Vi- I was down 1 whole lb. in two weeks. But hopped on the scale on Mon and I was up 1.5lbs. How does that happen! I'm thinking about adding 1/2 hr of walking on the treadmill to my workout time. Figure I can watch the news while walking..

Today I am meeting with another investment guy (you'd think I had millions the way I meet with these folks!) I've had this one for several years. He was johnny on the spot until I retired and wasn't investing with him anymore - which ticked me off. He was untruthful with me to =in an underhanded way..and I have never forgiven him for that. Anyhow, I called him and left him a message that I thought we were supposed to meet every January - I must have missed his call (LOL) His investments made the least of any I have - wonder what he will say about that! Think of me -I'm meeting at his office at 9am (when I was investing, he came to my house)

Time to hit the shower..

Schroon Lake, NY(Zone 4a)

Hi everyone!! Still really cold here, but I feel worse for you southern folk who aren't supposed to have it.

But

Ann-I hear the cold air is from Canada...think you could speak to somebody up there about that? LOL.Popcorn in a cast iron pan is not just diet food, it's a workout too!!

Kelly-(((((hugs))))) from here too. I CANNOT stay awake at night, even if kids need a ride after 10 DH has to do it. I know I couldn't do nights at my age. I hope he can adjust, maybe the Tylenol PM or something like that will help him. I'm sure I would try under the circumstances....oh I hope it works out. I feel for you in the meantime....

Susan-Happy Belated anniversay!! Glad you had a good time at Walmart!! LOL. Dog food too, you must have been good this year!! Indy is very adorable, he looks a bit like my Socrates. I call Socrates "the burdock" because he's always stuck to me, and I'm allergic to him so I sniffle and sneeze all day.

bal-wonderful transformation!!It looks great, and boy do I love it when wallpaper goes away.

defoecat-antique buyers sure don't offer much in my experience. Can you put an ad on the internet and post pictures? Planning a vacation must be a pick-me-up this time of year. Where are you going? LOL at reminding Mary not to forget the horses!! That would be me.... I personally don't do much, actually, used to paint a lot, sometimes tackle a big project-painting the house last fall, for instance. But the farmhouse work right now is out of my hands. I can't complain though it's a miracle to be able to get work done in winter in this climate-I've never heard of being able to excavate all through January and Feb.

McCool-I was the first one in chat last night, and then booted myself, nobody was there. I was gone by the time you got there, too bad. It's fun but when you get 16 people chatting about a dozen different topics, it's gets challenging! Glad Dh is enjoying the job and I hope his schedule settles into something livable.

m5-oh that Sammi looks so comfy and happy to be home. I bet they didn't have all those pillows available at the vets! Poor little dude, I'm glad he's already getting Mini back in training....even if he doesn't feel up to it, I'm sure he feels obligated to keep up tradition!

Mary-makes sense about the first ride being the biggest effort. I don't even want to think about washing blankets etc...spring cleaning of horse stuff really gets the allergies aggravated. But once you've got it all together it should be a lot easier. And it's just as well to get all the prep out of the way before the weather's too good to waste!

kooger-The butter stack of popcorn sounds great. When I was a kid I could eat anything and not gain weight....
Is there anything that's not good dipped in butter? I love artichokes, mmmm mmm mmmm, hardly ever have them here but when we lived in San Francisco, it was a different story.

darius-The AAADD is hysterical, just can't figure out if I'm laughing or crying...I'll get back to you on that. Enjoy your company! Think of us huddled masses, the cold longing to be warm, as you plant shop!! I hope your winds let up. Enough of wind already!!!

sarv-nice seeing you in chat!! I think I'll dmail m=noobiegardener and see how her daughter is doing. It was kind of punchy there! I feel about the wa you do regarding dentists. Traumatized as a kid, and the horror never goes away. I don't think I can take much more winter either....

Elaine-Slow down a little!! Stop and visit!!! LOL

suzieq-Ditto on the dentist comment. How's the stepkid situation going?

lauri- nice seeing you in chat too, I hope you get answers for your son...and get through the red tape for getting another opinion. The medical profession is dwarfed by the number of people whose full time jobs it is to prevent people from getting medical care. Kind of bass-ackwards, isn't it?

Okay off to he coffeepot for me, will check back in, have a great day!!

A Little Mixed Up

Just a line to say I’m living,
That I’m not among the dead!
Tho I’m getting more forgetful,
And more mixed up in the head!

For sometimes I can’t remember,
When I stand at the foot of the stairs,
If I must go up for something
Or I just came down from there!

And before the fridge so often,
My poor mind is filled with doubt.
Have I just put food away or,
Have I come to take some out?

And there are times when it is dark,
With my night cap on my head,
I don’t know if I’m retiring,
Or just getting out of bed!

So if it is my turn to write you,
There’s no need in getting sore!
I may think that I have written
And don’t want to be a bore!

So remember, I do love you,
And I wish that you were here.
And now it’s nearly mail time
So, I must say “Good-bye Dear”.

There I stand beside the mailbox,
With my face so very red,
Instead of mailing you my letter,
I have opened it instead!

Susan, Indy looks like my Bazha Cat. Here's a photo Molly took of her out in the yard last week.

I just called my sister and asked here to drive up here (2-1/2 hours) and get Bazha and also take me to the hospital. Having breathing problems... sure hope they don't put me back on oxygen. I hated being tethered.

Gravois Mills, MO(Zone 6a)

Kelly---- I was raised like you were. You do what you have to do. Ameraicans today do not understand that. A lot of them cannot cut hard work. My son has a hard time finding reliable workers. They want to get paid and party. This last year he used some Mexican green cards that come in for so many months and go back. I said to him I wish you would use americans. He said "These show up." In america we do not get ahead in most places by what we know and how well we do our job. We are guaged on our social stand and on our looks and it is going to cost your grandkids a country if they do not take control of this stuff. I do not include everyone but for the most part the U S A has turned into a giant ball of B S.

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning. Just a quick check in for now.

Darius, I emagine something the wind stirred up is bothering you. I hope you don't need a tank this time. At least you can visit with all of us if you get tethered. Anyhow, you've got my prayers. Your cat and 9kitty's look like my Neut.

Maria, it is the numbing anesthetic that I have a problem with. In the past I have needed 3x what most people get just to get numb, and then it only lasted for about 20 min and the dentist had to give me more. For long procedures I would get several extra shots. This time he used a new combination, it lasted longer and I did not need another before he was finished. The crown is plastic and I expect to have the permanent crown in about 3 weeks, maybe sooner. They will call me when it comes in from the lab if it arrives early.

Here's my kitty look alike, all 15+ pounds of him. His mouth looks kind of funny in this picture but it really isn't.

Mary, I have the same problem with dental anesthetics. Last root canal took 3 initial shots, then 3 more right into the root/nerve. Wears off fast!

Cute kitty... :)

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

Darius, is your sister coming to get you? If you have immediate breathing trouble, call 911, if you have transportation trouble, call ME! I can drive from here to Jax in 4 hours and I'm sure you're closer than that.

If you don't have a 911 there (can't imagine that) call the fire department. The fire trucks come equiped with oxygen!

Whatever you do, let us know ASAP! Don't make me come up there!
Pati

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Pati, it is really NOT an emergency, just think I need my meds changed. An office visit to a new doctor usually takes 4-8 weeks for an appointment and the ER is open 24/7. Plus, Medicare pays 100% of ER visits.

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

WHEW! Thanks goodness. Where is your closest hospital? I tend to get riled up when anything to do with breathing is involved. My late DH had Asthma and it was agony to watch him go through an attack.

Just thought........when I said, "Don't make me come up there" I didn't mean I didn't want to come.....it's just how I threatened my kids when they didn't move fast enough to obey. LOL
Pati

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Pati, I assume a hospital in Gainesville, and the only name I know is Shands.

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Well, I always said "I was looking for a job when I got THIS one".
Some folks can't adapt to night time living. Their rythyms just won't let it happen. 's truth.

Darius, hope you are feeling somewhat better today.

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Darius - can you drive yourself??? My breathing is all haywire this winter too - or maybe it is just age related. I feel like I can never get a good breath.. I suspect our burning wood has a lot to do with it. Since we are out of it, maybe next winter will be better for me.

I just spent 2.5 hrs with an investment guy. He is the nicest guy I know (excluding bal and ernie or course) He is very conservative and not at all flashy. Will be meeting with him again to tweek some things. I always leave from talking to him feeling better. This time however, he talked about long term nursing home care...ugh, do I want to think about that - NOT! Any of you have it?

My stinking cat is eating all of my seedlings she can reach. I know somewhere I have some grass seed. I need to find it and plant her some - so far she devoured a big heliotrope that I have nursed thru the winter

Since I left early this morning, I still need to do the morning chore type of stuff. But it is almost time for the noon news - I am a news freak - so better signn ff for now

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

Sarv, you too huh?? I am having a heck of a time with the cats eating the seedlings. Especially the grass. I have started purple millet and it is being munched. I used to give them wheat grass and I haven't in awhile. I know it is my fault they are eating this, they think I planted it for THEM.

Which is what I need to do.

Susan

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

Darius, you're very lucky to be near Shands! One of the best, if not the best in the state. I love a hospital that is connected to a university, young doctors with inquireing minds!
Pati

From their website:
Shands HealthCare, affiliated with the University of Florida, is one of the Southeast's premier health systems. Shands includes nine hospitals, more than 80 affiliated primary and specialty physician practices, and a medical staff of 1,500 UF faculty and community doctors.

Central, WI(Zone 4a)

Hi All,

Just checking in quick.

Susan,
I'm so sorry,,,I forgot to wish you Happy Anniversary,,,,or did I,,,,oh my the CRS is settling in again.

ginni,
GREAT poem, fits Perfectly.

Darius,
Hope it's only a med change that's needed. Will be thinking of you.

oz,
Know what you mean. Bill is a good worker. Always keeping himself busy. Other people take advantage and sit around when a machine goes down and needs fixing,,,Bill picks up a broom and sweeps, mops, empties garbage,,,what ever needs to be done. Just can't seem to get used to the 3rd shift. It's only been a few days. I gave him 2 Tylenol PM and he went to bed around 10:15,,,,maybe should have given him 3,,,LOL Just hope he sleeps til 6 or 7 tonight.

Well, customer here,,will be back to finish my post during lunch.

Kelly

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

I'm slow catching up this morning, fighting the laundry monster, ya just can't kill the beast. If that gets "Hotel California" running through your head, blame it on my classic rock station that I had on this morning.

Sarv, it's darn cold here too and there's a brisk north wind blowing. If I didn't have to drag Souky in for a recheck and her shots, I'd just stay in the house. How about if you take your money out of that investment counselor's hands and put it elsewhere since he doesn't seem to spend much time on it. Most deferred funds can be transferred into similar funds, with a different firm without penalty. I don't know how yours is set up but it's worth asking. Or, ask him if you can have a different person handling it since it's not been very profitable. Give him a little grief.

Bal, that room looks lighter and larger with your improvements! Good job! Your DW will no doubt be very pleased with such a nice welcome.

Dcmd, Sammi is taking full advantage of his invalid status. When he's not sleeping, he's sitting at my feet asking to be picked up and cuddled. I can't refuse, so he's getting lots of attention. Souky goes in for her recheck today, so I'm leaving the carrier out and hoping to scoop her up and pop her in it before she figures out she's going somewhere!

Tgif, how true. LOL I woke up this morning convinced that it was Saturday, for some unknown reason. DH was up, which he never is on Saturday morning but that didn't register either.

Darius, maybe a short stint on the oxygen will help clear this up. It may well have been working outside in the wind, and catching a lot of pollen or particles that triggered this. We wish you well. Can't be fun dragging an hose and a tank around.

Oz, my nephew in GA owns a roofing business, and even though his pay scale is excellent, he has the same problem with no shows, esp. on Monday mornings, and everyone leaving early on Friday. When my son had a new roof put on last fall, the guys would show up for an hour and then disappear.

Pretty tabby pics , Susan, Darius and Mary E. Our lynx point Hobbes had all the tabby markings, but siamese blue eyes. I love those marks.

Laurie, just imagine how much more efficient those ins. co's would be if they just paid claims properly instead of delaying, and arguing, and contesting everything. It's a tactic to make you go away and give up. I talked about this before, you just have to keep pushing them. It's so frustrating, and you hardly ever get to talk to the same person twice.

Update: Dishwasher is fixed and running better than it did when I first got it. I'm still going to sell it. There was probably something wrong with it from the get go.

~~~ to all, off to stuff Souky in the carrier....I hope!
Schroon Lake, NY(Zone 4a)
checking in for lunch
darius-is your sister coming? She better take care of you or she'll have quite a few someones to answer to!! It probably is wind related, stirring up pollen or mold spores or something else. Hope you get assistance quickly.
oz-the work ethic seems dead and gone. Things come too easy. Nobody goes hungry, there's always assistance somewhere, so work isn't the necessity it used to be. Nor is savings I guess, in the US the savings rate is currently something like negative 5 percent - that is people are completely in debt, and tapping into the "equity" of their bubble-inflated houses. So when the housing market crashes, and all the jobs are in China, and Social Security and Medicare are bankrupt, where will we be? I am afraid for the kids (maybe they'll reinstate the draft to cut the population??). I'm getting my farm up and running, which my teens laugh at - but someday if things get bad, I'll have wood for heat, spring water, and veggie gardens. If they never need it - great. But I think survival may become an issue in their lifetimes. I tell them, learn to survive and adapt, and you can do the other stuff too for as long as it lasts.
off the soap box, sorry
Kelly-I understand Bill's situation, I believe in hard work and self sufficiency, but we live in the body we have, and some people just can't adapt to something so unnatural = and if they can't it isn't safe anyway. So ((((hugs))))) still coming at you, and good luck!!
Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)
Been reading along, but didn't have time to post until now. Lunch is in the nuker and should be ready any minute. Having leftover cream of potato soup. Looks nice and sunny outside today,but freezing here in the office.
Woosdpirit - Good find with the Vinca!
Susan - Happy belated aniversary. Sounds like a good night out to me. Dinner and Walmart - two of my favorite things.
DMC - Stepdaughter just gets under my skin! We are as opposite as night and day. Her latest stunt was trying to meet men online. Now keep in mind she is 27 years old, going on 13. But with all the trouble she is in, that's the absolute last thing she should be doing. She invites trouble upon herself. I have to get off that topic before I get riled up again.
Nice pictures of the tabby cats. When I took my cats to the vet last week, little Izzy weighed 6 lbs. and my big Tigger boy weighed 16 pounds. He looks alot more ornery that your tabby pics.
Kelly - Hope Bill can adjust to the new schedule. Hope he gives it some t ime to adjust.
Darius - Hope all goes well at the ER, keep us posted. We worry about you!
To those I didn't address, sorry! Hope everyone has a nice afternoon.
waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)
Sarv, it didn't seem you were too happy with your investment counselor, but apparently it turned out well with the new guy! That's good.
Just got back from the vet, Souky cried all the way there, but not a peep on the way home. Little snot. Her allergy is clearing up, and we hope it was just the food and not some other unidentified offender, like dust, because if it's dust...............well, you know. LOL
Where's Carat, 'n Happy, 'n ernie, and a few others among the missing lately? Maybe they are busy and just lurking....we'll all be busy in a couple of months. I, for one, cant wait!!
Whew
Have been so so busy lately. I've tried to read everything ... but gosh ... how can one keep up?
Darius, hope you get to feeling better. Get to the ER and if O2 is what you need ... go for it ... you don't want to miss spring! Don't want you laid up in a hospital bed. :)
Kelly, sure hope those Tylenol did the trick for Bill. If not, slip him an extra tomorrow. ;)
Susan, so so sorry I didn't wish you a happy anniversary yesterday. Missed that somehow when I was skimming the posts. Wow, that was some celebration, girl! WalMart, huh? Woohoo!! (just teasing ya) LOL
Mary~ hope you have a chance to rest before your trip. Have a wonderful time.
tgif, I have a copy of that poem from my Grandma from way back in the late 60's. Love it!
DMC, talked to Defoe today and she gave me a blow by blow description of your painting. Just beautiful!!!
Sarv, glad things worked out with the investor. Sorry your kitty is eating your seeds.
Well, I'm doing a bit of typing again this week so have been really busy again. Between company 2 week-ends in a row and now this ... I haven't had much DG time, but I'm not complaining at all. Will try to check in later. Am waving to those I've missed ~~~~
Oh, before I go ..
Carol, am thinking about you and your Dad today.
Suzie, don't forget ... we can still send the 2X4.
Lauriwilson, so sorry you can't get any straight answers. Know it must be tough when you have that *gut feeling* somethings just not right but it's not showing up. Hope you'll get some answers soon.
Hi Pati. Always glad to see you!
Okay, now I'm outta here! ~~~
Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)
Hi folks,
Been a busy day. Aquafit in the AM. Took DH to have his catheter removed and they said OK to short drives. Just no long ones. So he is operating on his own plumbing and free to drive w/o my taking him places. Then I went into Food Cupboard and spent time with successor making him rum through all the end of month stats. Of course we do it all again in a week, but maybe he'll remember some of it. Haven't been home for long. I'll take a look through today's thread, but don't exspect to get all the way through before I make dinner and prepare for a rehearsal.
Kelly - thinking of you and hope you can work through this with Bill
Woodspirit - Your neighbours make a good case for pre-marital agreements - especially for second marriages when kids are involved from the first marriage.
But glad you got the Vinca. You won't need much.
sarv - I had one of my temps come off too. But it was one of those aluminum ones. I was able to get to the dentist the next day. I think I just popped it back on. Re the weight, that's why it can be discouraging to weigh yourself everyday. Do you have one of the new digital scales? I do, and it can make quite a difference if you weigh yourself before or after the daily dump. LOL
more coming - I just hit send prematurely
To continue (do you think I can managae to keep the mouse away from the "send" button?)
dmc - Americans always blame their cold air on Canada. It's gonna be mild here for the rest of the week. We get most of our storms from the US.
tgif - enjoyed the poem.
Darius - hope your sister helps out well. Do you trust her with your cat? Keeping my fingers crossed that the breathing problems are sorted out quickly.
Something wrong there. Similar things happen in Canada. And we wonder why emerg is always crowded!
M5 - glad the dishwasher is running well now, but I also support your decision to sell. At least you can sell with a clear conscience.
Sarv - glad you like the new investment guy. Hope he has good advice.
Gotta go. Will ltry to check in later.
Sorry to do the pasting again - I'm kinda poopered out............ I am home again, with MIL. Kandyce was released from ICU this morning, about 10 am and is now in a regular room. If there are no problems with bodily functions today, she will be released tmr!!! My head is spinning - wow, what incredible news!! They may want her to do some physical therapy as she has been walking like a CP kid the past 2 months - stomach pushed out, back in 'S' curve and legs partially bent. And they will want her back for an MRI and NS visit in 3 months.
We left Rochester about 11 30 and were home by 3 pm. I dropped off DH and went straight to hosp to pick up MIL. Then picked up a walker for her and now we're home. She's gained a lot of strength since Sun. and can get herself out of a chair by herself. That is wonderful and it looks like she may be able to stay in her apt in a few days. I'm so happy, God answers prayers!! :)
darius - what's the latest? did u get help? I'm worrying..........
Schroon Lake, NY(Zone 4a)
Wow Good news kooger!! :-)
south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)
Vi - LOL I only hop on the scale after my morning 'duties'- and yes I do have a digital, but it measures in the 1/2 lb - but it is accurate.
I just had the scariest thing happen. I was moving an extension cord and all of a sudden sparks were flying!! It ended up being a table lamp I took from my parent's house long long ago. I've repainted it (it's wooden) and reshaded it and have used it for years. Anyhow, the plug/cord thing was cracked and the wires were sparking. How do you say FIRE!!!! Just think if I hadn't been home....someone was watching out for me today.
DH has taken the cord out and is replacing it (he is great about things like that!)
Kooger - I'm tired just reading about what you did today! Put your feet up and rest - you deserve it!
Since we had pizza out of the box, I don't have many dishes. It was spinach, portabella mushrooms with a white sauce- pretty tasty. DH didn't care for it- he likes his loaded with everything...Oh well, can't please him everytime!!
Gonna have a tad of vanilla bean ice cream with syrup (no hot fudge - boo hoo)
Take care everyone!
Hi all
Meezers, so glad about your dish washer. It's about time you got some good news on that front. :) How's Sammy today? Give him a hug, okay?
Kooger, that's wonderful news about Kandyce! (sorry I've been spelling her name wrong.) I was so amazed to see how quick she would be discharged. :-)
Maria, where have you been today? You and Samson okay up there?
Okay Darius ... we need a report from you. Tried to call, but didn't leave a message.
Hi Ann, so glad to hear about your DH. That's wonderful news about his getting rid of the catheter ... plus getting to drive himself on short trips. Congrats on that bit of independence.!
Well, thanks to this crazy weather we've been having, I went out to water and was attacked by mosquitoes. They are already vicious and leave welps on me. Any skin that's not protected is promptly bitten. Any kind of bug ... be it fly gnat or whatever just seems to looove me! I tell the DH it's cause I'm sooo sweet. Of course, he is of another opinion. He refers to something in barn yards? Can't imagine what he's talkin about. LOL LOL
Well, got to go see what else is going on around DG. Waving at everyone and will check in later. ~~~
Am reading frantically,trying to catch up. Gonna sign off and read, then be back to comment.
Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)
I have been on here for about 2 hours trying to post some pictures, but dang dial up is too slow tonight. I may try later on, but I will get it done. Today was grocery shopping day, and when I got home and got it put up, neighbor came by and chatted about 45 min. Always glad to have company, but it wasn't a very opportune time. Talked to 101 this afternoon, then rested awhile, supper, clean up, and finishing a craft project. So it has been a full and busy day.
Well, I could swear that all of you who posted pictures of your tabbies had stolen Miss Boots. But I looked and she is here. Isn't it odd that most tabbies look somewhat alike? The only thing different about Miss Boots, is that she is part persian, and she has longer hair, which goes without saying, more shedding. So to those of us who are owned by the tabbies, we have pretty good taste.
Ok Darius, you haven't checked in to tell us what is going on. Inquiring minds want to know.
GG, hope the Tylenol PM helps SO to sleep, and his disposition improves. Some people just can't handle that shift, and if he can't then he needs to look for something else.
Oz, I agree with you 200 %. When I was in Personnel, I would always hire an older person rather than one just out of high school if I had the chance. The older ones usually had a better work ethic. They would come to work, and they would save their vacation and sick days for when they were needed, vs the younger ones used them as soon as they got them. Plus they could work circles around the younger ones. I often would comment to administration that "these are the people who will be taking care of us, when we are in the nursing home" That is a scary thought. Brains burned out by drugs and alcohol, and a GTH attitude. Off the soap box.
Sarv, If you put the fear of God into that investment advisor, he will be calling you wanting to manage your money. When I was working, my broker would call about every 2 weeks, now that I am retired, I very seldom hear from him.
ViAnn, glad that DH has been liberated from the catheter, and can drive short distances, that in turn liberates you too.
DR, although you haven't posted, I still have your DF in my T&P. Hope that all is calm, and he isn't in much pain.
To Darius, and tgif, laughed about the CRS or whatever you called it. I fit in that category more days than I would like to admit. On easter, if I am having one of those days, I can hide my own easter eggs, and still have fun finding them!!
Kooger, good news about Kandyce. I can't believe that she will be released that soon. Give her a hug from me, I have had her in my T&P.
M5, I laughed about Souky, hollering all the way there. I guess that she got her come uppance, was why she was quiet going home. Did you take her by surprise, scooping her in the crate?
Woodspirit good find on the vinca. I have some that made it through the winter, so that's something Iwon';t have to buy. I use it in some 1/2 whiskey barrels with some geraniums.
Lauriewilson, have you decided what you are going to do about DS, and another DR? It is frustrating.
susieq ,I laughed about the nuker. Heard it called many things, but not that.
pattischell, don't apologize, I am sure you mean it. When it comes to friends, we do get possessive. Darius, you better listen to pattischell.
Who had the problem about the cats eating the tender plants? Well, let me become a charter member. Miss Boots, last weekend ate some Red Hot Poker, and then upchucked it on the floor, for me to clean up. So now you know what one thing I will not be having in my flower beds this year.
Well, I am off to check some other forums, and will be back later, to try to post those pics.
I didn't do much today, so cold, windy and yucky. Where did that nice 80 degrees go? That was in winter though wasn't it, what do I want from spring? Snow?? Yep, it's heading right for us, maybe 2 inches and then clearing off and being 20. That ought to be great. Aren't I sarcastic tonight? LOL
Here is tomorrow's daily,
Hello again. I just got a good laugh about hiding my own easter eggs and having fun finding them. It isn't so far fetched, just a variation on looking for something I put away in a safe place so it would be easy to find again, an every day occurance it seems.
Today I ended up going back to town to wash my sleeping bag from my trailer at the coin laundry. After sitting all winter in the trailer living space without much ventalation and no heat, it did not smell like anything I wanted to sleep in. Now after a trip through the big front loader washer and the dryer, and being spread out over a wooden clothes rack in the living room by the wood stove to finish drying, it should smell pretty good. I hung some other things on the clothesline all day, including the pillow. Tomorrow I will take the vaccuum cleaner out and do the floor, change the throw rugs (they're supposed to catch the dirt so I can just shake them and have a clean floor), wash down counter top and hard surface walls, and start putting everything back inside. Ride camps are not clean places, endruance riding is not a clean sport, and my poor trailer gets pretty bad by the end of the season. It only gets an occasional lick and a promise during the year, but I do want to start the season with it clean. The sleeping bag needs to be replaced but I will wait until they go on sale in a couple of months.
Kooger, you deserve a nice rest but I emagine it is back to work tomorrow. I'm glad to hear that Kandyce is going to be able to go home so soon, it is amazing. I would emagine that post surgery pain is nothing compared to what she has experienced for the past few months. And a good report on your MIL too! God answers prayer and here is the proof.
VAnn, your husband will sure appreciate his new freedoms. We don't think of a quick car trip to the store as a big thing, but I bet he does right now. I think you are handling your successor just right, make him work! Be tough! After all, he wanted the job, nobody forced him into it.
Calling Dauius, yoohooo, are you listening? I hope you are ok.
I have taken some more pictures of AmandaPanda but they are not downloaded yet. Maybe tomorrow. Right now I am finding it hard to keep my eyes open and fingers functioning. Meanwhile, AP has just come to life for her evening play session. She is busy terrorizing a wad of paper. What an acrobat!
Goodnight all, sleep well and awake refreshed.
LOL Mary, we call those the ten o'clock crazies...they go racing around just like overtired kids. Souky actually played with Sammi tonight, and didn't have a hissy fit over it. Maybe since she's not itching with her allergy and he's still a little slow after the surgery, they can finally come to some kind of accomodation with play. Looking forward to more pics of AP, she such a cutie.
If Darius was on the road with her sister, it's likely we won't hear from her until she's back at Molly's. I hope she got the proper care at the ER, and won't need to stay in the hospital. Breathing problems are tricky.
Have a long list of chores today, but it remains to be seen whether or not they will all get done. Sun's shining so I need to take another cruise around the yard and see if anything is brave enough to come up and face the cold. It warmed up a little yesterday afternoon, but the forecast is for more cold.
My sympathy to all whose cats are eating up their sprouting seedlings! That's why I don't even try to start anything in the house, I know it wouldn't survive. Hobbes used to go munch on the aloe occasionally but that's pretty harmless. I have fewer and fewer indoor living plants.
~~~ to everybody, and off to an exciting day of chasing dust and webs.
