Coffee and...For Monday, March 20, 2006 IT'S SPRING ♫♫♫♫
GEEEZZZZZZ LADIES SLOW AS MALASSES IN JAN. No wonder the DH's are grouchy.
=^..^=
Good Morning everyone - get your lazy butts outta bed - spring is here!! Sun is out, but it is colddddd -it was only 58 deg inside the house this morning (think DH didnt load up the woodstove!) But the sun is out and that will make me warm until the wood takes.
DH made a turkey dinner yesterday, so DS/DIL/DGS came over for dinner - all went well and the food was out of this world. Oz, you should have come over!! Much better than cheerios. Now I have leftover turkey for sandwiches...yum. Got up this morning and did up all the dishes - just have to make the beds and I am free for the day!!
I do need to sit down and see what seeds need to be started....and repot a bunch of seedlings.
Called my mom and she sounded good- said the medicine she is on for her kidney infec is making her sick, but she thinks she is better! Their whole day revolves around eating and playing cards. No wonder she is getting rounder! She does ride her three wheel bike, but I don't think she really goes fast. Oh well, when you are 82, guess you can do what you want!
Mary, my butt and back ache for you... Cannot imagine trotting for a long time - jar, jar, jar...thump thump thump. We always leave our vehicle keys in the vehicle too. We're going to be sorry some time I fear....guess we're just too trusting
dmc- you sound like me. I am the queen worrier....I will even worry about your DD for you!! Glad she was safe and sound
McC- I am going to have to make up some of that suet., I cannot keep blues around here. They come and take a peek at the condos (birdhouses) and move on. For two years we had them, when the boxes were new, but haven't had any stay for 4 yrs now. I clean out the boxes too. Always puzzling. But the sparrows have been very fiesty around here, and I think they scare them off.
I was just gazing out back and said to myself 'oh there goes our old cat' - but then I looked and she was at my feet. Oh great, it was probably a woodchuck....get out the trap!! It must be spring for sure.
I'm off to the huff/puff then maybe will just put my pedal to the metal and go somewhere= Take care everyone!
Oz, once again, you are too funny!
I'm here AFTER a good night's sleep!
I hope everyone else is getting a good sleep too. It's sunny today, always a good thing, 17 out....So I just won't go out!! so there!!
9kitty-your house a tulip bed are beautiful! I'm so glad Jennifer is doing well. I'm glad you got to have a lazy day, your body is busy healing and rebuilding even while you're napping, to say nothing of your mind having time to file away all the latest doings!!
MaryE-Ouch,I can't imagine 75 miles...when you said trot for 2 hours the other day I was agreeing with all the others who go by the wayside. Course I have a Standardbred I could ride and his walk might keep up with your trot if you're not going real fast! Then again his trot is HUGE. When he gets flustered he'll do a beautiful running walk. I should probably find a trainer who could help me get him doing that all the time! It's fast and smooth as silk. Jared was an adoptee from the harness track.I love him to pieces! I'm glad you don't have too many of those bad drug deal people around....scary! you know, I don't think we have anyplace you COULD ride 75 miles here without just going in circles.
dcat-The story of your father really struck home with me. I was 21, a senior in college. Came from a family with huge depression problems, so it was a stressful homelife. My father was orphaned by murder suicide at the age of 4, this was in the 20's, then the depression, etc, and you know there were no grief counselors back then, in fact he was stigmatized. By the time I was in college he pretty much kept to himself in depression. At church one Sunday the priest asked us to imagine what we would thinkand say if we only had one day left....I wrote a long letter to Dad and thanked him for his efforts and sacrifice and all his good points....I was so afraid to mail it, I was embarrassed, and thought he would just die of embarrassment. I remember walking for miles at dusk, finally walked up to a mailbox, threw it in and let the chute swing closed. He never said a word about receiving it, but when he died suddenly of a massive heart attack six months later it was in his nightstand, well read. I wrote to the priest to thank him. Best advice I ever took.
McCool-a couple years ago I painted a mural in the basement,my sister said it looked like I painted Spring...If I can find a photo i'll attach it. I don't know if we get bluebirds up here, I haven't seen any.
Elaine-that broccoli salad sounds great, I'm printing it out to save.
Ann-the cathedral is amazing. Faux painting is fun, but when I talk to people who do it all the time there are just horror stories about customers and deadlines, etc. Anyway, I think the kids and their teenage trials have sucked a lot of energy out,and maybe when they're on their way I'll get going again. I hope that's the case. As I've said I do less in a month than you do in a day! I didn't used to be like that! I also would like to do volunteer work and would love to work on social action, social justice, or support missionary work. There's so much that my mind would love to do, but life bogs me down.
Lauri and Carol-you and families have been in my prayers.
Hi to whomever I'm missing by name~~~~~Will stop back in
The basment mural
hi sarv-The DM reminds me..."I'm in shape...round is shape". Glad she's feeling better. I haven't found my leftover seeds yet....I put them someplace safe....shoot, I'll never find them. Should left them on the diningroom table all winter!!
Attaching a photo of the tack trunk I painted for DD with leftover mural paint...see I was on a roll.....
dmc, don't let life get you down with too many worries, you have a wonderful talent stick to it, please, as you say, get rolling.
In North East gardening there are beautiful photos, lots of them showing from the Boston and Providence flower shows. you can watch it as a slide show, worth seeing.
Good morning to everyone, Samson is his normal self again, just loved fetching balls again but could not do it for long it is very cold, not like spring at all.
Bluebirds are here too have been for some time and loads of robins feasting on the cedar berries.
Glad you heard from your mother, Sarv, I would worry too about there driving at that age and not feeling too well
Mary, I don't think I'd be able to walk for a month if I did what you do.
Molly, love your counter
dmc- what beautiful painting!!! Oh, if I was only that talented!! I never can figure it out - are you born with that talent or did you develop it.....something for me to ponder! Hang in there - we all have our ups and downs it seems...
Hi Maria- glad Samson is back to his old self. It is bitter cold here too - not at all like the first day of spring. I think mother nature is mad at us for something. I hear there is a huge winter storm out west- supposed to miss us, but a little snow coming later in the week. Even the sun went under here and it is looking gloomy. And I can't seem to get the wood stove running - may have to resort to cranking up the furnace!!
Good Morning all. Just checking in before heading out to take DM to the Dr.
Sarv, that dinner sounded really good, I think I have a turkey in the freezer, so it might become a meal one of these days.
dmc, that mural in amazing. Please find some time to get back into painting. It is a shame to hide talent like that. I can't draw a straight line, much less something like that. I have a DBIL who is a super artist, but only does it for fun. I will try to post a picture later today that he did.
Mary, if I rode a horse for 75 miles, there would have to be a surgeon at the finish line to separate me from the beast. And walking again would take weeks of therapy. I am glad you enjoy it and do well at it, but for me horses are to look at.
The weather here is chilly, overcast, supposed to have rain later this afternoon, with a possibility of sleet and freezing rain during the night tonight. So spring is here!!, another twisted joke LOL.
Well off to get dressed and head out.
I will be back later.
Hi Everyone,
Won't try to address you all but have read everything so far. Didn't sleep well last night for some reason, but went to aquafit this am anyway. Have a Dr. appointment at 1:15. My Dr. is now on the other side of town - a bit farther than the hostpial where DH had his surgery. She lives a bit father than that and about 4 years ago stopped commuting to the east end. I decided in the end to stay with her since family doctors are hard to come by here, she's 20 yrs. younger than I am and the person taking over her practice in the east end had kids in school with mine; so you know she'll retire in a few years.
Hope you all have a good day. Will try to get back later.
Ann
Hi everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend. I've skimmed the posts from the last 2 days, but don't expect me to remember any of it.
The Garden school was good. I took 2 seminars on soil improvement and soil/plant relationships. They were good, but It was too much info for a one and a half hour seminar. I took a seminar on Orchids just for the heck of it. We got to tour some of the floriculture greenhouses. Now that was cool! I could have spent all day there. Sis and I were the last ones to leave we just kept wandering around and asking questions. I also got a free container to send a soil sample to Rutgers for analysis. That should be good. We've never tested our soil.
DH hooked up our new water softener this weekend. We have LOTS of calcium in our water. Really messes up appliances and pipes. What a difference when you take a shower. I feel now like I don't get all the soap off. It's hard to explain, just feels different.
Stepdaughter has been up to her old tricks again. Nothing criminal this time. I'll I will say for now is, if you see me on the news, you'll know I put her throughn a wall. I'm that mad right now.
Sarv- we might be going to Cabellas this weekend. It's abou 21/2 hours away from us and opened a year or so ago. Not my most favorite thing to do, but hey, it's beats cleaning and laundry.
Dmc - I would have been a wreck with the DD not calling. You are a wonderful painter. Thanks for sharing the pics.
Maria - So glad that Sampson is rid of his collar. Bet you are both more at ease now.
Gotta go for now.
sorry, but what is Cabelllas?
Maria - Cabellas is a huge hunting/fishing store. They don't carry sporting goods for any other sports like baseball, golf etc.
Good morning/afternoon. There, that took care of not only the time zone differences but also the late sleepers, and all the folks at work and otherwise busy.
Our weather so far today is partly sunny, partly cloudy, not much wind. The temp is up to 36 but about 5 hours ago it was 20. It's subject to change however. I've got a load of laundry on the line and another waiting in the washer, which I should have taken care of before I sat down here. Ok, laundry is like dishes and floors, it waits patiently.
The aches I felt yesterday after riding have mostly gone away! Nothing like a good night's sleep all warm and cozy to relax those muscles. That's also good because I am going to ride the other horse today. As to the jar, jar, thump, thump, I don't ride that way, I use my legs to cushion every stride the horse takes, and have often thought that if I had a camera mounted on my head that you would see it is a pretty smooth ride as well as a scenic one.
Dmc, what a tense time you had with your daughter who didn't expect you to be worried when she wasn't. Kids! No wonder we get gray hair! Your art talent is awesome. You should just start painting scenes like that when you feel blue, it would be a great spirit lifter! Your idea to get a trainer to help you get the Standardbred to do his smooth gait is a winner. Do it!! Then you can keep up with me and be comfortable at the same time.
Sarv, that turkey dinner sounds good. We tend to forget about turkey when it isn't Thankdgiving, but it does make a great meal anytime the weather is not too hot to have the oven on for several hours. And then there are all those wonderful turkey sandwiches. I'm glad to hear that your mom thinks her kidney infection is getting under control, even if the medicine makes her feel sick some other way, that will be over in a few days time. I know you feel better with her feeling better.
9kitty, that's a very pretty tulip bed and you have a nice variety. I like your house too, is it made of native stone or is that a facing over something else? Anyhow, it makes a nice background for the pretty flowers. When I moved here I did no gardening at all the first year, we were busy remodeling the house and what passed for a lawn had piles of debris and lumber, a trailer parked in the yard to catch the old roofing as we took the whole roof off, people, ladders, etc, and so gardening was just not possible until the next year. When spring came I saw lots of tulips coming up, a real variety of colors, and so then I knew where there had been flower beds. There were 2 large trees and 4 small trees in the yard along with a few mostly dead looking shrubs. I started watering and digging, pulling weeds, removing junk, and gradually it came to life. More tulips came up the next year and some other things like peonys that had been sleeping. Somebody who lived here before me had some nice things that somehow survived without care and watering. Want to trade some tulip bulbs? I might not be able to tell you what you are getting but they will be colorful.
This morning I made a list of the stuff I need to do before Friday morning when I leave for my ride. Why am a sitting here? ~~~ waving to the rest of you, have a great day!
WHAT ????? Somebody does not know where and what the big boys toys store are. There is just absolutely no excuse for that.
This message was edited Mar 20, 2006 1:23 PM
Oz, Around here I know where the big boys toy stores are, just not that one :-)
Afternoon everyone- I am so chilled that I keep eating to keep warm- bone chilling wind here...and I hate it....
Someone needs to take Maria to Cabellas!! It is a once in a lifetime experience - don't care to go back tho...
Repotted up a bunch of seedlings - tall ageratum, sunset coneflowers, browallia - what a mess on the counter. Too cold to do it in the greenhouse or outside. They are all snuggly underneath lights now. Had to turn on another set of lights- oh woe - the electricity bill keeps going up!!
I've never had my soil or water tested. Water was tested by the welldriller when we had a new well put in several years ago, but I'd like to do it again...My soil probably needs a load of something - the soil wasn't good to begin with and I haven't been faithful about amending it.
My garage dooropener took a dump. How can that happen overnight? I went to put it down and nothing happened. So I had to hop out of the car, push the button and then dash under the lowering door - scares me. I am too lazy to go out the back door after I close it. DH has the extra one - wonder if he would notice if I exchanged mine for his LOL
Friend gave me a book in large print - man - that is the berries!! She got it for her mother..I need to be on a lookout for more of them. I need to get my arse into the the eye doctor...been three years. Shame on me.
Well, my chair is calling to me and I need to take a snooze before Oprah!!
Sarv, I can think of a more interesting place to visit, lol
Just stopping in to say Hi... gotta go out and take clothes off the line. (Anyone line dry anymore?)
Well nothing from the Dr. yet they have his lab work but not viewed by the Dr. yet. Told me it would be a day or two, I informed them I will be calling back at 4 p.m. for the results or sitting in the waiting room for the results. It's a very smalll counrty clinic and not busy, everytime you go in they are eating and sitting around doing nothing, so it is not like they are swamped.
Turkey sounds good I'll have to get one and my DH bar b ques them with apple wood and they are to die for. So moist and flavorful. Cornish hens are good that way too.
Mary wish we were alot closer I'd meet ya out on the road and we could go riding. Everyone around here are the city types who think you have to just race your horse at a dead run everywhere and the run it home too. No leaisure trail rides for them. Trotting is just too slow.
dmc, wow love the pictures, I couldn't paint like that to save my life so I'll stick to knitting and crocheting. You are talented!!
Maria glad to hear Samson is in a much better mood now that his confinement is over.
sarv, sure go ahead and trade remotes, why not??
suzieq, hope your SDH isn't giving you too big of fits, LOL just remember you'll have to fix the hole in the wall..
To all I missed hi,howdy and hope your day/arternoon/evening is great. Gotta fo harass the Dr. yet again....Lauri
Well, better late than never....Most of the morning was shuttling Sammi and Souky back and forth to the vet, Sammi will be there until tomorrow, but it went well and he's awake already. Returned two bags of dry cat food that has fish meal in it, which is apparently what Souky is allergic to. Came home and flopped on the couch and watched two shows I recorded yesterday.
Dinner at DS/DIL's was very nice. She made a tenderloin, and roasted asparagus, and smashed potatos. Now if she could learn how to time it so everything is done at the same time and hot, she'll have it nailed! Can't fault her intentions though, she's a much loved member of the tribe.
Tomorrow is the dentist, and I need to find a path around the ghastly mess they've made of the downtown freeway system. so I'll have to leave extra early. Then pick up Sammi, and bring him home.
Dmcd, your art work is beautiful! I hope you can take time to do more of it, you are very talented. I find that the ideas in my head don't travel well to my hand....the last effort was trying to paint a scene on DD's closet door after she redecorated her bedroom....her youngest DS came in and said it looked like a giant mudpie. We couldn't argue with that, it did. So with talent like yours, you should use it.
I would have been just as distraught as you were if I couldn't find a college age kid....they live in a bubble, and often don't think beyond their own circumstance. I've seen a couple of shows about disappearances and it just gives a person cold chills.
I love Turkey, I just don't often think of it when I'm shopping. Mostly I like the sandwiches! DH never cooks, you know!
McCool that suet recipe sounds great, it must make quite a bit. I'll have to try that, and maybe we'll see more of our shy bluebirds if I bribe them.
Sun just came out here, but there is still snow being predicted. Hope they are wrong again.
Mary, I'm so glad your excursion only left you with a day of discomfort! That bodes well for your endurance ride.
Sarv, did you check your batteries in the door opener? They last such a long time, I've only replaced mine once in five years. Also, I had to bend the contact metal a bit as it wasn't pressing hard enough (or at all?) on the battery. And, no, your DH probably wouldn't notice if you switched them!! LOL
Suzie, SD at it again!! What a pain. Wonder if she'll ever straighten up. It's so frustrating when you have to deal with it, but can't really do anything about it. DH has family members like that...we try to stay far away from them.
Ann I know how you feel trying to hang on to a doctor who will not retire, I've lost two dentists, and a gynecologist, to retirement, and finding a good replacement was hard.
Oops, just caught Darius's note, so I'm p.s. ing, Yes, I line dry when ever the weather permits. Makes bedding so much easier to fold and it smells so good. The trick now is to find decent clothesline, I hate the plastic stuff, and the cotton wrapped doesn't wear well. I end up replacing it almost every year. I think I'm going to a boat place and get something better quality.
Repair guy is here to work on the dishwasher, gotta go. Catch up later.
Sheila

lauri-turkey barbq'd over apple wood sounds wonderful! hoping for good results for DS.
darius-I like to line dry, although it's a little nippy right now!
I don't like sheets and towels frozen into stiff boards. I look forward to building a really good clothesline at the farm. I even like the looks of clothes on lines, and when I was in art school I'd paint pictures of them. They're ILLEGAL in all the ritzy neighborhoods, just blows my mind. In the summer here the clothes you start with are dry by the time you get the last ones hung.
We get Cabellas catalog. All the camouflage cracks me up. I've never been to a store though.
Glad you guys liked the painting....and that I''m not the only one who gets upset with DD not checking in. It stinks to be a worrier!!
suzieq- how old is your stepdaughter? Don't ruin your wall, we'll send the 2x4or the 2x10 if you need it.
sarv-I feel your cold...literally! Although it was sunny it was a high of 25 with an icy north wind all day...my nose ached going outside! Sounds like you got a lot of seedlings potted up! It will be worth the price of the lights, what else do northerners have to keep them going by now? If the wind ever dies down you'll be able to get things into the greenhouse won't you? It should warm up and the sun is a lot stronger now.
deofeca-spewed a little coffee while reading about needing a surgeon at the finish line to separate you from the beast...LOLOL
Mary-nothing but admiration from here, it's cold and windy and you're trotting for hours....doesn't sound like I'd make it in Endurance!
Sarv sounds to me like the cold weather zapped you battery.
Good evening all,
We got into Ft Lauderdale last night around 10 pm Lots of delays on the way down, but we finally made it.
This morning borrowed the pressure cleaner I sold to my former computer guy. We cleaned the exterior walls on 2 houses. Tomorrow start painting on the big one. Next week we paint the little one. By the end of this week, we'll know if this will take 3 weeks altogether.
At the second house I found several plant items that have set seeds. You bet I gathered as many as I could find. Taking them home and planting them....to be sure!!!!
Thanks yall on the counter comments. It did last for a while. Now I will be faced with what to do with the counters in my very own house now. Painting isn't the answer I'm sure. The formica is coming off on the edging and there are certainly mars on the main surface. I have a plan, but that that is not a project we'll be doing very soon.
Ft Lauderdale has a lot of light and noise in the middle of the night. Had a little trouble sleeping last night with all that going on. I sure did settle into that quiet country life quickly didn't I?
Well, time is short on a borrowed computer.
Check back later.
Molly
:^))))
No, I haven't been in the Dr's office all day. Life sort of interrupted. Took DM to Dr this morning, and made an appointment for me too. This Dr is such a fine young fella, very personable, and takes all the time you want, makes you feel that you are the only person he is gonna see that day. Anyway, got new allergy meds, not because the other wasn't working, but because my insurance wouldn't pay for them. So will see how the new ones do. Also still having trouble sleeping, and do not like sleeping pills, as they just zap me, and I don't like the feeling of not being in control. So he gave me a mild nerve pill to take at night, to see how that will do. Then stopped by the snap, crackle and pop Dr for an adjustment. When I got home at noon, I picked up, dusted and vacuumed, so now I am up to date, and the only other room to "house clean" is the laundry room.I have an antiques dealer coming tomorrow to look at some pieces of furniture and glassware. I just have way too much in this house, and want to see what kinds of prices I am given. And if I pay any attention to the weather guy, I think tomorrow will be a good day to stay in. Supposed to have rain, freezing rain, sleet and some snow during the night tonight and tomorrrow morning.
Viann, how did the Dr visit go?
Susieq, glad you enjoyed the garden school. I know what you mean when you say the water just feels different. I have been in different areas of the country, and does my hair recognize differences in the water.
MaryE glad that you were able to put the laundry on the line, it always smells so much better. What all do you have to get ready before Friday?
Sarv, it's probably just the batteries in the garage door opener. I go to the library and check out the large print books for DM, and I have read a few, and boy they are a lot easier to read. Just requested my library this past weekend to start getting more of them.
Meezer, So you acted as a Kitty Taxi today. Sure hope all the fur kids get taken care of, and are at home soon. Several years ago, I took my big Calico, Patches in to be spayed, and she was to spend the night, at about 4:00p.m vet's office called and told me to come get her. Well, I thought that she had done exceptionally well, and there was no need for her to stay. When I got there, got out of the car, and could hear this terrible wailing coming from the clinic. I walked in and the receptionist said I am so glad you are here, she has been wailing like that ever since she woke up, and frankly we can't stand it. Take her home, keep her quiet, and bring her back in 10 days to have the stitches out. As soon as she saw me, the catterwauling stopped, and she was quiet on the way home. Guess she just missed being in her own home, as she wasn't in any pain. Aw, she missed her mommy!!
Good luck on the Dentist appointment tomorrow, and getting around the construction.
lauriewilson, sure wish you and Mary E could get together for a ride. Did you find anything out about the lab results? Girl go camp in the office if you have to. That burns me when they have them, but they have to interpret them.
dmc, sorry that you had to clean the computer monitor. I didn't intend for that to happen. I rode last year for about 1/2 hour and it took a week for me to walk normally again. I don't have much padding, and it felt like bone touching the saddle. I am sure that if I would ride more frequently, I wouldn't go through those painful episodes.
Molly, getting started on that job, and finding those seeds, you are a hoot, sure just be sure that your pockets are big enough to hold all you want. Those counters did look good. Do you know what the finish is that is applied to wood, that looks like it is a thick sheet of plastic/glass when dried. I have a friend who is a woodworker, and he made a chess table with this kind of finish, and I think it is really neat.
Well, it looks like we are missing a few folks, 101,, pattischell, Oz, you haven't been too chatty, Where's Bal? to all I have addressed~~~, to those who haven't shown up frantic~~~~ waves to you. Gonna go check out some other forums and then come back.
First day of spring? Where? Not here that is for certain. It has been cold and some wonderful slow rain most of the day. We could use 3-5 days and nights like this just to get caught up on our moisture.
Did little today. Made liver and onions smothered with homemade gravy for supper. Nuked some thawed frozen veggies & a baked potato that DH & I split. Ate way too much of the meat and gravy mix. We love liver/onions/gravy. But I don't make it often because DH has a liver disease and isn't suppose to have high iron foods very much.
We are in the market for a new or good used 4D TV reciever. Ours is about 8 - 10 years old and for some reason lost it's digital authorization code. That cost us most of the channels we watch. The company wants $165 to fix it and it might take a month or more as it has to go back to the company then be shipped to Mexico to be fixed. Then back to the company and back to us. I have found a new one on ebay I think we should get. More money of course, but it will also be more up to date and have a warranty on it.
GOD bless and keep all of you.
Just a quick check-in tonight. It's been cold and windy here today, but at least we had sunshine and a nice blue sky. Got some repair work and some cooking done today, but not much else.
Had a nice conversation with Susan/101/Elaine who called today. (It just feels a little weird for me to call her "Elaine" since that's her middle name and my first name). I can't very well go by my middle name here since it's Marie and that would likely cause MORE confusion.
Dmcd .... loved the paintings, especially the trunk. I hope you make some time to keep up this kind of work. Seems it would be a shame to let that talent go to waste.
M5, hope the kitties are all okay. I'm always relieved when we get the yearly visit done and over with for all of our furbabies.
Speaking of that, D'cat, wow, sounds like your cat made that vet PAY for what he/she did! One of mine nearly goes catatonic (no pun intended) and ends up cowering in the kitty litter if she has to stay at the vet's for any length of time. We brought home a very "fragrant" cat last time it happened. Phew! The poor thing seems to be scared stiff of anyone she doesn't live with (never even got used to my brother although he DID live here for over a year.) I guess the pets are just as neurotic as we humans tend to be.
Maria, I've never been to Cabella's either, but have you been to L.L.Bean's up in Freeport, Maine? I'm not into hunting or fishing, but I used to like camping. My tent is still up in the attic, but I'm afraid to pull it out of it's sack to see what kind of shape it's in. I'd still like to try at least one more camping trip .... not sure I'd be able to get up after spending the night in a sleeping bag on the ground, though.
Mary, good luck with your first endurance ride. Sounds like you're still in pretty good shape, Winter notwithstanding.
Good luck to everyone who tries the peanut butter "suet". I can't promise that the bluebirds will automatically go for it, but I'm sure your suet feeders will have plenty of "customers"! I've found that if mealworms are on the menu, the bluebirds will make a bee-line for those and have little interest in anything else until they're gone. Having said that, it was the suet feeder that seemed to have attracted them to my backyard in the first place.
I brought one tray of peas back in from the greenhouse. They were all looking quite unhappy, but I'm not sure whether they are freezing or if the jiffy pots got too dry. It certainly has been cold, even with the radiator out there. I think my cheap little greenhouse is just too well "ventilated" for this kind of weather.
I said this was going to be "quick" didn't I? Hah! Anyhow, it's getting late and it's back to work tomorrow, so goodnight all.
McCool, just wanted to tell you that the candles arrived today, all in good shape. Thanks for being so prompt, now I have to find a place to hide them, until DGD's birthday April 7. And to tell you that plane reservations have been made for our vacation. We will be arriving June 19 and staying until June 26th. I will d-mail you some more info, also to maria. Now that reservations are made, got to start planning the itiniery.
This week is gonna be busy, so let's try to talk next Monday okay?
To all others, I am going to bed, I know it's early but the new nerve pill seems to be working.
Good Night All.
Still drizzly rain today, not enough to really be rain, but enough that we couldn't go out and do anything outside.
I did laundry and went to PT. Stopped at the mall and picked up an anniversary card for DH, it's our 26th tomorrow. We will probably go out to eat, Chinese.
Doesn't feel like spring, may have snow on the ground by morning. oh boy.....
I love the new DG spring banner. Those tulips are really nice.
Did someone ask to trade tulips??? That picture was taken in 2004 and they didn't look like that last year and probably won't this year either. I had planted 400 tulips that fall (2003) and it was certainly gorgeous in the spring. But they just didn't come back again. I planted a few new ones this year and they are getting buds but not the quantity of 2003. I was busy digging holes for pots of hosta. LOL
This will be short tonight, I'm not very newsy I guess. That's newsy not nosy, I'm ALWAYS nosy. LOL
Here's the daily for tomorrow.
