Sun is just about to peep over the horizon - gonna be a nice day. I have a ton of potting up to get done...dahila tubers all over the bar (dirt on the floor) - get the picture!! Plus a garage full of by spring buys that need a home....a gardeners work is never done....
the sun is shinning here too-I want to get the yard mowed(3acres) and the veggie gardens tilled and then play in the flower gardens-i hope my family doesnt expect dinner-LOL
I just love spring -so full of life and green foliage and spring flowers and fresh tilled dirt!

Boy, did you see our electric bills are going up at least 72%. I am glad we have the greenhouse hooked to the Woodmaster, Now I know why the electric company put a new meter on the house.I think it moves faster. Can barely afford the natural gas prices as it is, I don't know how we are supposed to afford an increase in electricity. This is ridiculous.

72%!! How do they think people are going to make those kind of adjustments on top of higher gasoline prices. That is just terrible. Something needs to be done about it.
Dori, I'd like more catmint so if you have some go ahead and pot it up. Let me know what you want or need and if I have some I can bring some to exchange. I want to come and plan to unless my daughter in law goes into labor. She's due on June 6. She's so big though I don't think she'll go that long but she might.
Ha, maybe we should pot up our perennials and have a big plant sale instead of exchange and split the money to pay for electricity and gas. Ha!!! I'm glad I drug my perennials up to my new house. I don't think I could afford to buy them all over again. I guess like everything else, landscaping supplies and plants have risen in price. Now if we could only get our paychecks to go up at the same rate everything else is. Ha!!
Hello all!
we went up by cadilac area yesterday and found 20 morel mushrooms-I think it was a little early. The roads were all under construction and we couldnt go where we had planned and the kids were getting impatient! maybe next weekend we will go again to a different area!
i will pot up more catmints for the plant trade. I really have to get busy this week potting more trade items. I have a few more trades to get done too!
I know the daylilies will be arriving this coming month, but i have those beds ready and waiting!!
The tomatoes are growing wonderfully in the GH and im spraying and watering with the mighty plant i got in the co-op=great stuff!!!
I just walked through the hosta bed and most of them are up and im hoping some are slower than the rest cuz i dont see some of them-yikes!!!
Its been a wonderful weekend and all in all a GREAT spring

75 and sunny!!!!!. No rain yet!!!!!!!! We need it bad and with the forest fire over west of us. So far over 6000 acres and its damaged a few homes. We have been tilling the new veggy garden. The topsoil should have been here by now. Hope that everyone is having a Great Day!!!!!!!! Aleta
Had a 5 hr rain yesterday - 76 deg today!! Got a lot planted, but still more to do.....cooling off for the rest of the week. Almost time to get the annuals in!!!
No Rain!!! Now it will be next Tuesday before we get some.
It`s sunny and 60 out, Youngest son`s college graduation ,tonight. He will be moving to Miami next monday. His wife already has a job there. That will only leave one son left here in Michigan. My oldest lives in Philidelphia.

52 here. Supose to get down to 27 tonight. We got our topsoil yesterday , so will be spredding in on the garden today.
Went to graduation last night, and when we got home ,we got to see my son again on the 11 o`clock news.

Just a heads up......they are having a liquidation sale at the Singing Bridge this weekend. They are selling all of the groc. items. The store will close for evermore at the end of the month. Its up for sale, but seems no one wants it. Another milestone gone.......

Went to Harger`s today ,got a few things, a white bleeding heart , stell de oro daylilly ,2 plum pudding coral bells,2 chameleon plants and of course a Joseph`s Coat rose.. I only paid 11.99 for the rose,and it is over 4ft. tall with lots of buds. I will be going back ,hubby is buying me a weeping cherry for Mother`s Day. They aren`t in yet. I will be going back many times this summer. It is close to home and ther prices are not to bad.. ....

Finally, a little rain. We need more, hopefully we will get it.
Garden plot is waiting to get planted ,2 more weeks and we should be safe.
Going to Saginaw tomorrow . have to get the baskets ready for the graves. I use silk flowers . We bought the big heart shaped hangers this year. Hopefully they won`t get stolen. We have that problem in the East Tawas cementary. I lose alot of things there I put out every year.....

the apricot trees made it =they are loaded! There is nothing on the plum trees this yr-darn
The pear trees were full of blossoms as are the apple and cherries! so i will be making jam this yr for sure! Strawberries are in bloom too but sure could use some RAIN!!!
The lilacs are in full bloom and the fragrance just fills the air-going to have to bring a vase full in today!
I sure hope it rains soon!

Working my buns off before the cold and rain come in. Everything is bone dry, but 16 days of rain will send me over the edge. I still have a greenhouse full of plants even tho I've been planting for two days!! How does this happen!!

We really needed the rain here, but all my daylily orders are coming in and I really need it to stop raining long enough to plant them.
raining here- supposed to be an all day rain. But our ground is bone dry, so we really needed it. Plus I need a day to rest these weary muscles. I'm visiting garden nurseries today!! LOL
i just looked at the radar becuz it is pouring here and man oh man look at that rain out over lake michigan swirling back at us!!!
going to need a boat to plant them daylilies!!! i got all mine in the ground yesterday and im hoping that the mailman has to pull in with a box of anything today so i dont have to go out to the mailbox!! LOL

Just took a walk around our property. I counted 86 yellow lady slippers,and to many trilliam to count. I sure can`t wait to get my plants in the ground. But, they are saying frost for Sunday and Monday night,so I will wait till Tuesday.
I have the hang baskets ready for the cementary We bought the big heart shaped hangers,and I made up silk arrangements in wire baskets to hang..... Hope everyone enjoyed the sun ,today....Aleta
