Susan,
When you are trying to get the pill down his throat, blow in his face while doing it. That will cause him to shallow. That is a trick the vet. told me.

Morning everyone -sun is shining and it looks gorgeous out - only 37 deg, but the sun makes all the difference -rain coming this afternoon tho.

DS came over (his wife is gone for the weekend) He told me he would hook up my computer if I provided the pizza and beer. It gave me great satisfaction to tell him it was already up and running! He came over anyhow for the food and said he would set up the new printer/scanner - well, that didn't get done! He told me I didn't have any virus protection, so he installed that. Hmm, brother said I did. Oh well...what do I know!!

DR, we will be herefor you- so don't give a thought about dumping on us. Every one of us has our ears and eyes open just waiting to give you advice and comfort. We are just one big counseling group!! We will all walk in your shoes sometime....

Maria, I laugh about you and samson!! These next ten days will seem like an eternity for you H

Morning, every one
Sarv that 's just how I am with the computer "what do I know" lol just don't give up
I took a chance this morning and let Sam out without the leash, after a good breakfast, he did run around with exhuberance but I did not throw any balls.

Get this thing off of me

Maria, I've never had to put a cone on a dog, but I made Morgan (dachshund) a winter coat and she always acted like she was being punished if I put it on her. I finally gave up and let her get cold, LOL.

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Maria, the photos are great. don't worry he will forgive and forget..

Well, we have more snow in the air, and on the ground... moisture in any form is gratefully recieved. but ... snow, ? Now? I was gearing up for clearing and digging. drat.

Didja see that??? SNOW in SanFransico?

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Well, I pushed something on the new computer and it wouldn't let me finish typing....grrrr, so I just sent what I had written. Now I am back on the old one!! Hope this doesn't happen often!!!

Cute pics of Samson - I can see why that collar is a pain - I wouldn't want that hanging around my neck either!! How does he ever lay his head down to sleep?

Molly - I forgot to tell you how nice your place looks painted!! Now I need your expertise. We have some aluminum that was put around our windows and then caulked. The caulk is black and the aluminum has turned gray (it was white) Tell me what you would suggest. I have tried everything on the caulk to get the black off - nothing works = even straight bleach! And I imagine the aluminun has oxidized and needs repainting. How do I prepare the surface and what do I use. I am picking your brain!!

I just mentioned to DH that I need our bluebird boxes moved....he didn't say no, but didn't say he'd do it either! Food for his thought.....

He made me an egg, so better go eat it

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Thanks,Blooms! Have you ever seen such crazy weather we are having,?Seems like up side down at times, it is beautiful here today, a true warm spring day, all the snow has gone but is it ever muddy

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Yep snow in San Francisco, we got some too but it's gone now. I would love to watch the city people try to drive in that, LOL..sorry but it would be funny. DS is doing better still very stiff and sore and has a hard time getting his arms over his head.
Maria, love that last picture, he looks so pitiful yet sooo cute. Give him a hug for me.
DR my thoughts and prayers are with you as always, hey that is what friends are for so go ahead and rant, rave or ramble we are here.
Sarv sounds like you are having fun with the new puter. Maybe next trip your scanner will be up and running.
Blooms was it your b.day yesterday??
Waving to all gotta get something done here and cruise the other forums.
Hugs to all who need them this day.................Lauri

Just popping in a sec to say poor poor Samson! LOL Kota is sending doggie drool and says ... m i l k it Samson!! LOL
Waving to everyone. My DB is still here. Got to get back in there! ~~~

Lauri, nope. I'm a Capricorn. not til the end of the year. And with roofing to finish did not actually look at the snow as a gift. LOL thanks mother nature, will take it when we can get it, but it coulda waited a coupla days until we'd finished this side.

Sarv, that happens sometimes. I push a key without meaning to and am totally lost as to what I did, how I did it, and how to undo it. switching keyboards is hard... fingers remember old one.

Starkville, MS

Good morning all! I have been up awhile, and have read all the chat, but then went out in the greenhouse to do some watering and cleaning up. I discovered a new bloom stem one one of my orchids! It will be awhile before I get to see the bloom 'cause they are so slow developing, but once the blooms open they last for weeks. The pics I posted yesterday are orchids, the purple and white beauty is a cattleya that DH gave me a couple of years ago. It was in bud at that time, but didn't take too kindly to being shipped across country and the bloom failed. I am so glad it finally woke up. I can't figure out why I get more orchid blooms during the winter in the greenhouse than I do in the summer with them all outside! But, I'm not about to argue - at least they *do* bloom!

Carol (DR) Love, support and prayers to you and your family through this trying time. We will be here for you whenever you need us.

Susan - have you ever tried a "pill popper" to get Indy's pills down? I have a 20 pounder that had to have pills twice a day for weeks. That popper, and giving him a treat right after the pill, worked wonders for us. He even came to me for his meds so he could get his reward.

Well, I best get back to the greenhouse cleaning for a bit, then on to less fun things like house cleaning. Amazing isn't it? Leave off the word green and the work is no longer fun!

Blessings on thee, little man,

Speaking of computers, we have 3 on network here in the house. My ds uses one of my old ones. We got a free used monitor on freecycle and it has died already, so we are looking for another free one.

In the meantime, he has been playing yahoo card games on mine (this one). Everytime he comes in here to play, it freezes up on him and he has to do a shut down restart. That annoys me, because I never freeze it up when I play cards or anything else. What do you spose he is DOING?

I finally filled up my camera disk (128) with pictures the other day. I have just been shooting pictures and keeping them stored on that and just deleting ones that were too blurry or duplicates. It's amazing when the pixels are set reasonable, how many pictures you can get on one disk. I started that disk back last summer, then the other day the camera started beeping. I thought my battery was dying so changed them. Still beeping. Had to get my glasses on, go indoors and see what it was saying. Ooops, disk was full.

Okay, so I just now moved them all into my pictures folder and cleared the disk. Now I can start all over again, get my garden journal started here at the new place. This is going to be a lot of work. I might start it today.

I am so happy, life feels a little more normal now. No big project to face daily, weekly etc. I can diddle here on the puter or just go outside and count the leaves on my new dwarf japanese maple tree.

I'll let you know how many.....later

Ginni,

I'm no pro, but I have found, specially with catalayas, if you got them in the winter and they were blooming, they will forever bloom in the winter. Just dumb luck that you have a greenhouse for them to do that.

Some of the other orchids I have had will blooms twice a year, but not the cats.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Good morning everyone,

Looks like you are all up and at it on this SATURDAY morning with 15 posts before i even turned the computer on.

We have a gorgeous day today. Sunny, unlike yesterday, and a high of +10 C. That should make a dent in the snow banks but also make the going sloppy. Lots of big puddles caused by street drains that are blocked by ice. It was mild yesterday, but with no sun the melting was slower. Even so, I can begin to see the edge of my garden by the driveway where the bank has melted back a bit. I think I'll take the cheap garden spade to the ice ridge at the end of the driveway so that I can reach the street without endangering life and limb.

Also plan to put in some quality time with the vacuum. DH is becoming something of a nag now that he doesn't have other things to do. LOL

Have a good day.

Ann

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning. It's 16 degrees here, sun is just coming up, sky looks mostly cloudy, snow showers predicted. Snow in San Francisco, well no wonder we are having such low temps. I try to watch the jet stream on the weather channel and can kind of guess when the temps will get colder or warmer. Just like the guys who get paid for it. And about as accurate sometimes.

Ginni, what a pretty cat. He looks very happy. The orchids I have are 2 phaleonopsis (one with 2 bloom spikes) and the other starts with D but I can't remember the rest of it.

Samson's trip out into the yard probably made him somewhat happy, even though he seemed to be totally focused on that collar and not the toy at his feet. Just give him extra love and when the collar is off he will be good as new! Well, better, I remember that new wasn't good at first.

AmandaPanda is on my lap purring. She can be such a pest jumping on to the keyboard and attacking my moving fingers. When she does that she gets spanked and put on the floor, and she is learning that it is better to be a nice kitty in my lap and get petted instead. But she has so much energy she has relapses into the bad behavior.

Yesterday about noon I decided it was just too cold and windy to be out there on a horse, so I was doing things in the house and discovered I was out of some pills (herbal to control hot flashes), there should have been an extra bottle but I forgot to write it down on my list when I got it off the shelf about a month ago. I called the food co op, they carry a lot of vitamins and herbs, no, they didn't have them, and so I ended up driving 40 miles one way to get them at the health food store in LaGrande. And while I was there I stopped by Walmart and got a big bag of cat food. Might have saved enough on that one item to pay for the fuel I used making the trip, but I sure didn't save on the pills. I've been ordering them online and saving a few dollars on every bottle. Yesterday wiped that savings out, but then I used to buy them all at that price. Can you tell that I wasn't happy with myself?

Time to get dressed, feed the horses and get some breakfast.

Molly, so glad to hear that you are happy. As far as Jeremy using the computer - lets blame it on the 'male' ...Thank goodness DH doesn't have a clue how to run one - he is a master of the remote control tho!! LOL

I am just taking a 15 min break. I cleaned a basket catch all in my kitchen where I throw whatever in. I found coupons dated back to 2004 - LOL I always cut coupons, but then seldom use them...good intentions...

DH is out moving the bluebird box for me - wonder of all wonders. I am sure he will not put it where I want it, so I better dash out there to make sure it is in the right place.

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

HI all. I have surely missed you all. Between my job, the kids, DH and a whole bunch of computer issues I haven't been on in quite a while. I have popped in a couple times while at work, but its hard to do.
There is no way I can remember everything or comment on all of the events that have happened but I was with you all in spirit.

Molly, the trailer and everything else looks wonderful.

DR, I didn't read far enough back to be sure of all the details with your Dad but I am praying for him to have better health. I know how hard this is for you and how much you just want to make everything right for him. Hang in there, you are a wonderful daughter.

Well my bragging of the beautiful weather here caught up with us. It snowed most of the day at my work, didn't really stick but caused alot of problems with mud. It is suppose to continue this cold wet weather through the weekend and then start to warm up again. We have quite alot of upset people here. It is NASCAR weekend.

Well I really should take this time to get my house that resembles a teenagers bedroom cleaned up since I am not going outside until later. A friend is having a Pampered Chef party on the other side of town later this afternoon. I dont think she realized it was race weekend when making these plans. She lives close to the direct route everyone takes to the race track. I am going to have to take side streets and back roads to get there if I go. I also need to get to the grocery store.

Hope all are feeling better that have been ill, and less stress and more joy for all.

Wow! Took me a couple days to catch up with all the posts. Sorry if I miss several, know I was thinking of you!

{{{{{{{{{{{Carol}}}}}}}}}}} I understand how you feel too well, lost my Dad Sep 04. Fortunately, like you, I tried to go see him a lot and talked him often on the phone. The last 6 wks he was in hosp and nursing home... hospice sounds so much better!!!

Defoe - Hope they do have the woodworking classes!! Wish I could go too! You will be expert woodworker by the time I am buying my tools at the rate I am going! That's okay for now, as won't have the time to work with them till done from MBA prg, fall 2008, hopefully!

Good going on your diets ladies! Lose some for me too! Just having no gain is a significant achievement too! Best wishes!!

Oz - maybe you can do it in phases... get the deck first, take wk off, then start on phase 2! Or, wait till next summer if really that extensive.

Molly - your place is fab! Now you will have terrific place to "come home to!" Hopefully you will get a good base of clientele estab locally so won't have to go away so much!

Who was it that that had canned toms from 03-04-05? My Dad used to can lots. I am hoping to do that this yr myself! Need to buy some cases of jars. How many do you think would be sufficient for tomato based dishes 1-2 times a week? Want quarts and hate to think pints. Admittedly, I am the only one here that eats toms, but the girls like the juice in with their pasta, lol Plus try to make and take to work for lunches, called "planned-overs!"

tgif - I used to put vinegar on DD#1 thumb so she wouldn't suck, she got to liking it too! LOL

VAnn - Usu have no prob giving away all my excess to family, friends, co-workers! But since I am attempting to grow way more toms this yr than usual, I will keep local food bank idea in mind, thanks!

Bal - Thanks for saving that last piece of blackberry cobler for me, it was excellent!! I passed on the ice cream though. Amazing that every time I think that I need to work on wt, I gain 5 pounds. This has been no exception!

Well, have a great day everyone!!! ~ Suzi :)

Welcome back Carat and Briar - I know if you miss a day or two you are lost here - so much goes on!

Well, DH got the bluebird house up (and in the right place), we are working on raking up the debrie from him cutting down 3 pine trees. Wood is all cut up and moved, now we just have all the little limbs etc to rake up. Trying to make hay while the sun shines as rain is moving in this afternoon and snow for all next week. But I saw some tulips poking their noses up!

Lunch is done, so we're going back out - oh its so nice to be out in the sun....ahhhh

Hi all
i don't know whether to laugh or cry with joy or just do cartwheels down main st.
It's 51 degrees, brilliantly sunny, just got back from a 2 hour horse ride-forgot the camera...I want horse ears in my photos too!!

It's stilll to nice to stay in. We'll be getting rain, then wind, then back to the 20's so for now I have to go soak up the sun...Hope everyone's doing well.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

dmc, we have a heat wave 60' and it probably will be 70' later, feels just wonderful to be able to go outside and do some well needed chores

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

We are having a heat wave over 80. I was sitting outside and thinking, it is HOT. Whatever will I do when it IS hot. Supposed to be back in the 40's 50's next week, so I better enjoy this.

Of course, no rain. :(

First time on today. Had to run to town and do some errands. Stopped by DM's house on the way out, and she was still in bed at 9:45. When I got home, I started cleaning again, got another bed room done. The curtains are down and in the washer, so just as soon as they are finished and put back up, chalk another one up. Now have family room, dining area, kitchen and laundry room to go. I am determined to have the house clean before it's time to go out and play in the dirt.

It started raining last night about 5:30, and has rained off and on all night and today. Is supposed to clear this afternoon, with temps falling some. It is 45 here now.

As soon as the Kentucky -South Carolina basketball game is over, we are going to visit DMIL and go out to eat. DH's cousin and her husband will be going with us, and I think I overheard the words "Red Lobster" mentioned in that conversation.

Ain't even gonna try to address everyone, , but when we return this evening, I will catch up again and comment at that time.

~~~~~~~ Waving Frantically at everyone.
Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)
Just taking a break from house cleaning. An hour at a time is just about my limit. Cleaned out the closet where I keep my cleaning supplies. It's clear that the cleaning lady (I no longer have) hadn't cleaned in there for a lonnnnnnnnng time. I through away lots of OLD shoe polish. Anybody polish their shoes anymore? Found 2 tubes of crazy glue I didn't know I had. It's been on my shopping list for the last 2 weeks but I keep forgetting it.
Mostly I started to tackle the kitchen floor. Cleaning lady had been mopping it with one of those rag mops. I think it just sloshed the dirty water around to the edges because when I looked carefully, all the recessed areas in the edges of the room were considerably darker than other places. I'm working on it a bit at time with strong cleaner and a tooth brush. Note to self: the next floor should be perfectly flat - no recessed areas! Next up is to vacuum the central areas of the house. That will be enough for one day. Too nice here. Will take DH out to Chapters (Canadian equivalent of Borders) book store. Have to hit a grocery store for chicken, zucchini, etc. Will make a Moroccan chicken stew tomorrow when DD and family come over. DSIL probably won't eat it. Too bad! (NOT)
Maybe I'll get a chance to check in later. Enjoy the rest of the day.
Hey what's going on. 8 pm and the last post was MINE at 2:30. Where are you all?
Ann
waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)
Me, I've been sitting and waiting for the repair guy all day, he finally showed up around 2. Dishwasher needs a new pump after six months of use, discovered more damage in the flatware tray, several pieces I brought back from Australia that had bakelite handles that hung on a little wooden rack got too warm and warped. Those cannot be replaced.
He said Sears will probably replace the items. Probably. I made him write down all the stuff on a separate sheet as there wasn't room for it on the computerized form he filled out. He signed it and put the number for the service call on it so they can pull it up. Had to wash another huge pile of dishes, including the ones that were in the #$@!! machine when it died. Parts may not arrive for as long as ten days. Gonna be a lot of one dish meals around here.
I can't possibly catch up. I had a long post all written this morning and it went poof! but know that I am thinking of all of you and ~~~ to the lurkers. Tomorrow is another day, See you then....this is Sammi's first exposure to fresh air! Not sure why his tongue was hanging out. Probably just being sassy.
Hi again. It has been a very slow day here in the virtual kitchen. Everyone must have been out having fun.
OOO, nice weather some places, warm temps that will be a while getting here. Our high temp today was about 35 after 15 overnight. My greenhouse plants are happy, and soon I will have an amaryllys in bloom, don't know what color, I have 5 and should label them. They are late because I needed to repot them last fall and didn't get around to it, was too busy with the garden, canning, the flower beds, riding the last few rides of the season, and when all that was over I just sat down for a while.
Meezer, what a bummer to have a 6 month old dishwasher needing major repairs and having to wait for it besides. Not to mention damaged items that cannot all be replaced. I can see that the last couple of days haven't been the best. Your plan for the one dish meals makes good sense, I do a lot of those. Sammi looks so big sitting there by the window, but I wonder why he is looking in when things outside must be more interesting.
VAnn, what is Moroccan stew?
Dcat, what did you have at Red Lobster? We used to go to the one in Boise (150 miles so not often) and enjoyed it until they moved to a new building that is crowded, noisy and has the atmosphere of a cocktail lounge. There is another good seafood restaurant near it where we can have a quiet meal, so now we go to that one instead.
Some of you are doing some pretty vigorous housecleaning, quit that, you're making me tired.
We went to town this morning for breakfast and a trip through the grocery. It's amazing how quickly we can spend $30 and walk out with one paper bag full and a gallon of milk. I like to have my hubby pick out whatever vegie munchies he wants, but today I did the picking while he wandered over to check out the sausages. He loves sausages and I try to stay away from them, but did buy a package of hard salami, it makes a tasty sandwich and is also good with cheese and crackers, or sliced into thin strips for a little interest on the top of a green salad. Also bought some oysters for dinner before we got outa there. We love oysters, will have them tonight with baked potatoes and a green salad.
Daylight is fading fast, got to go feed the horses. They know what time it is.
Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)
Well, we have been home for about an hour. Although Red Lobster was mentioned, we ended up at a Lone Star Steak House. I had a combo platter, sirloin steak and shrimp. The shrimp were delicious, the steak dry and tough. I ordered medium rare and had very little pink in it. The salad was good, and the potato hot and flaky, so it wasn't a complete disaster. Now to get around to commenting:
M5, I would have thrown a very loud, verbal hissy fit. I would have demanded that they replace the *&^% dishwasher, immediately, and to replace all that was ruined. Sorry about those things that can't be replaced. I would put a very high price on them for reimbursement thought. Sammi is such a big fellow, and so handsome to boot.
Mary, you had very fluctuating temperatures. Going to the grocery almost sends me into shock. Everything is too pricy, and you don't get much for your money. I never buy anything but chicken at the grocery. We have our own meat. The beef that is sold in groceries is so bland compared to home grown, and you know what that animal has been fed.
Viann, I would like to know what the Morrocan Chicken Stew is too. Comment on the floor. I had vinyl in my kitchen dining area, it had little dimples in it and I would be on my hands and knees every 3 months or so scrubbing it. So in April of last year, I scrubbed it one last time, and declared that it was being replaced. I put down the pergo simulated wood flooring, and boy what a good investment it was. I wipe up all spills immediately, then just take a dust mop to it once a day. I damp mop it about every two weeks, with a special cleaner designed for these floors, and it shines like a new dollar. You couldn't run fast enough to give me vinyl again.
Kittymom, and dmc, with temps like that I would have been outside too. Enjoy it while it lasts. Our temps are supposed to fall for the weekend, then next week 75 most days, with one day 80. Then cooler the following week highs 40's. Kittymom, know what you mean about giving pills, my Jack Russell, sometimes takes as many as 10 tries to get a pill down. I gave him his heart worm pill yesterday on 1 try though. He pouted about an hour afterward!! What a baby.
Carat, welcome back. Missed you. Don't let life interfere with DG. Life is too short.
BriarRose, I haven't checked with the Tech school yet, but will the first of the week. I just want enough information that will allow me to make minor repairs, in other words probably make me dangerous. Wish you were closer, we could experiment together.
Oz, you sound like me. I can't do anything in stages either. If I start a project, IT HAS TO BE FINISHED!! Here's a plan though. Go out and work a couple hours, take a break say an hour or so, work another couple, break for lunch and a nap, then about 3 go out again for another couple hours. That way, you will be working, but not working too hard. If the temps are like last summer, you won't be able to stand being out there too long anyway. Good luck.
Maria, glad that your temps allowed you to get out. Don't worry about the mud, just get some boots, and tramp all over, then you can leave them at the door, and use them again, without worrying about cleaning the old shoes. Samson looked happy just being outside. When this is all over, he will forget it, and will be all he better for his "procedure". I promise, he won't hold it against you.
Sarv, DH must have been in a good mood to move the birdhouse the same day you asked. Mine would have to think about it for a couple of weeks, then it would be put where he wanted it, and I would have to listen to all the reasons why his location was better than mine!! If I could get proficient with tools, I wouldn't need a DH. Just joking, but mine is so cerebral that it drives me insane!! Just have to think everything out before hand.
DR, thinking of you. Thanks, now I feel that I can pray for "Dick" and envision him, instead of praying for DR, DF. I know the one who I pray to knows, but I am sort of nosey and want the details. And the trick about getting pills down animals, DH gives his dog, a Rat terrier, a pill, then bops her on the nose. Surprises her so that she gulps and pill is gone.
Blooms, snow, but snow is moisture. Enjoy every drop. Say you are doing a roof, by yourself? Now if that is true, I am envious.
laurie, snow in California, just blows my mind. And the thought of people who may have never seen the stuff, trying to drive in it.
101, when it settles down at your house, check in and tell us about the Azealea Festival.
tgif, I have orchid envy. I have had several, all indoors, and never had any luck. But they are so gorgeous. |Another southern plant I adore is gardenias. They smell so wonderful. BTW, big nice cat you have.
Molly, so I didn't see where you posted the number of leaves on that dwarf Japanese Maple, or are you still counting? Love the color of the paint. It really looks like it has been there in that surrounding for ever.
Well, I am going to check out some other forums, then I need to get to bed. I am taking DM to church tomorrow, and have to leave home an hour earlier than I normally would if I went to my own church. Sure hope she remembers it is Sunday and is ready when I get there. May call when I get up and remind her. Bless her heart.
If I don't check back, everyone have a good restful night, and hope you all wake to glorious sunshine.
Millbury, MA(Zone 5a)
Wow, it HAS been quiet around here today! Good thing for me --- not so much to catch up with. I thought about posting last night, but was just too tired.
Carol, I'm sure you know better -- as everyone has been telling you, please don't worry about burdening anyone here. What are friends for if not to offer a bit of moral support.
Susan, I was going to mention the "pill popper" too. Vets usually have them and the pet supply places might as well, I've never looked for one in the stores. Of course, my vet waited until my cat had nearly bitten through my finger to tell me that there was such a thing. "Why don't you use a pill popper?" Well, gee, shall we try a multiple choice answer? A. I like having my fingers bitten to the bone. or B. The #$@% vet never thought to tell me about it when she prescribed some pills so bitter that she warned me that the cat would "foam at the mouth" if I didn't get the pill right down her throat immediately. These tools are long enough so that you can get the pill right to the back of the throat and "pop" it in. They have no choice but to swallow it (and if they do bite, only the plastic gets chomped).
Maria, loved the pictures of Samson in his "Easter bonnet". We've had to do that with cats a couple of times. No fun at all, but don't let him lay a big guilt-trip on you. He is much better off now.
Hi Casey, nice to see you again.
D'cat, seems like you and Vann are competing for the housekeeper of the year award. (The judges would probably condemn my place by the time they got beyond the threshold) I wouldn't mind cleaning that much if I could just pick the place up and dump out half the contents so that I could actually SEE the surfaces I ought to be cleaning. Ah well, there's always something much more interesting to be doing anyway.
Molly, your house looks great with the new paint job and I'm sure it will just get better and better with the additions you have planned. We're all waiting with interest to see how the landscaping fills out in the near future.
M5, what are you feeding Sammi --- Miracle Grow? I can't believe how big he looks next to Souky now. Sorry about the mess with the dishwasher. If Sears doesn't come through with replacements and some sort of compensation, I'd call the Better Business Bureau and register a complaint.
Most of my immediate family and their partners went to a Mexican restaurant this evening to celebrate my neice's 21st birthday. The place was hopping as it's the weekend hang-out for the young people in the area, but there were enough of us that they had us at a long table in a separate little room and it worked out well.
Afraid I'm starting to wilt again and my bed is calling me, so I'll just say hi to sarv, lauri, Briar Rose, oz, Mary, tgif, 101, darius, Blooms, and dmcd and wish everyone a good night.
I have a pill popper, it DOES NOT work for me. I suppose it is my fault, but I couldn't get the thing in her mouth (we're talking Cali impossible here) she would knock the pill off the end before it was 'popped'. LOL
We got Mr. Indy's pills down him in one try this evening. We remembered the final move we did yesterday and did that. He still went ptooey for awhile, but the pills were long down. Poor kitty, only 11 to go.
We had a visitor this evening at the front door. We had the door open, just the screen door cause it was so nice today. I was on the computer (shock) and DH came back and said there was a black kitty at the front door. It was upsetting the others, Indy and Furrbee were in the middle of a viscious knock down drag out fight in the middle of the entryway. Bit was howling up on the shelf where she goes to get away from Snowcone. Wow, the sounds....so you know me, I go rushing out and there she is. I say she because she is meowing at me and rolling on the ground, flopping around, like a cat in heat. Great!!! I tried to get her to come to me, kitty kitty kitty and then started meowing. If the neighbors heard me they would have thought I was nuts, but no, they know I am.
Went all the way around the house with her flopping over every little bit and talking to me and if I almost got to her she would take off again. So I went and sat in the swing and just meowed and kittied. LOL She came all the way up to the swing, but one reach and she was off again. So I went back in and told DH I bet she will be back. I went back to the computer, heard the front door shut. She had come back.
Now what am I going to do with another cat that makes my 9 crazy, probably is dumped, hungry, and about to get pregnant. I told her she wouldn't get any help from mine in that regard. Why oh why do people not spay their animals, and keep them home? Why do they throw them away when they go into heat instead of just getting them fixed and they won't act like that. Soap box here, can you tell???
DD says well you have another cat. If I do, I will get her to the vet first thing to be sure she won't give mine anything. Have to catch her first. I'm sure food will do it, but if the food goes out, she will be staying. I have a name in mind, but hope she isn't there tomorrow. I love black cats. Hummmmm, if it is a cat, I love it.
Well, I didn't get those paychecks entered last night and I was at until after 12, so I am going to try to finish tonight. I keep going to do other things, I don't know what is wrong with me. I used to get what I needed to do done and THEN go do other things. Must be old age. LOL
