Hi gang! Spring must be here despite all the snow we have. I noticed buds a little here and there last night and this morning I took a "tour" to find out which hoyas are budding... I have to admit I took pen and paper with me! I found 36 hoyas to have buds in various sizes - can't wait for them to open! IF all of them continue to grow and not fall off...
This is what I found:

bordenii (1 peduncle with tiny buds... have fallen off in the past)

I normally don't like bragging, but finding all these buds makes all the TLC in repotting, showering etc SO worth it!
Quite a lot of snow, the sun is up, temp was about -13 C (10 F) last night and now around 20 F. Great day for hoyas to grow!

Your list of BUDs is longer than my list of my entire collection (NONE of which have BUDs). I have several peduncles...seems I find a new one every week....so HOPEFULLY I'll have some bloomers this spring.

Thanks guys! It sure seems to be a good spring - at least for my hoyas. I'll keep you updated on the "tricky" ones... hypolasia, bordenii, cv Jennifer and others. Turned my little cv. Sunrise around today and found a tiny peduncle in it... I guess they are everywhere these days. It sure would be nice to see flowers on Sunrise!

How exciting Christina. Makes it all worth while doesn't it? Makes it hard to go to work and leave all your little blooms home. Are you surprised at how many are going to bloom due to the cold dark winter your having? You don't use any lights on your plants do you?

Tami, it sure is exciting. But I don't go to work at the moment... Don't have any yet, but I'm working on it. Having problems saying no to companies who want ME but I don't want THEM!
Have you checked out Sweden on a map? It may be quite small, but it's VERY long. I'm way down in the very south of Sweden where we have "normal" days all year round. It's way up north that they have extra long days during the summer and almost complete darkness in the winter. When it's at its darkest for us "down here" we have daylight from around 9 in the morning till around 3 in the afternoon. Correct me if I'm wrong, Rosita!

Yep, can't get any further south than that. Looks like Jamaica, very long island. Another member who lives in Gamleby, said that it had been very cold this winter is why I asked you. Please Please show pictures of H. vitiensis when she blooms. She is so beautifull..We can all ewww and ahhhh with you...

I just love the buds on the H. onychoides!
DS-70 was the first one to open quite a few umbels too, but today lacunosa opened 3 umbels and we came home to a wonderful fragrance upstairs. Here she is for you to see!

We having such a long winther here now , snow for nearly 2 mounth it is not common in our part of Sweden. Very, very cold, Jack the frost is here every night.

Calycina decided to open up today. The flowers in this photo really shows how pink they can get get in the middle. Even on the outside of the corolla lobes!

Wow, is the moisture in the flower from the humidity in your house? What a gorgeous picture!!

No, I think the moisture is from inside the flowers. I've seen this on other hoyas too; imperialis, onychoides and multiflora. Perhaps there's more air in these where humidity can build up from the heat of the sun... I don't know, but I'm guessing this. All 3 flowers are now open and the moisture is gone.
