College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I said before that I was bringing plates and cups for everyone. Dave or Trish: is Buppy's providing plates and plasticware, or should I bring that?

Okay, I'll bring plates and cups. Is 100 enough?

No- they are only providing the food. Cups, plates, napkins, dinnerware is all up to us.

I'll be picking the food up at 11:30, and since we aren't starting until 10, I'm thinking that afternoon muchies will be the most needed.

Trish

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

I'll bring napkins.

Dallas, TX

I will bring all that kind of stuff I have on hand. I dont need it.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Since we are talking food over here, I will just mention...

Several of us are meeting at the Golden Coral for Breakfast Sat. morn. about 8:30 or 9am.
Then I am sure as the sun goes down and those of us staying the night in CS will get hungry will want to eat out.
I luv to eat!

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Someone dmail me and tell me what food/accesories are still needed so I can be useful?
Debbie

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, I'm confused about whether or not we need to bring plates and stuff for supper.

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I got some of those red checked plastic picnic table cover (the thick kind) still in the wrapper from the store (can't remember what I bought it for! LOL) could ya'll use that?

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

They sound great! :-) I sure hope you can come.

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I'm coming unless it FLOODS...LOL...they can just "get over it" at work.
Debbie

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

LOL!

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

That's the attitude of a gardener! You go girl!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Yeah!!! Crabby act worked! LOL!!!

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8b)

It looks like we have enough plates and forks. If anyone wants to bring some more cups, that would be great. I know people tend to loose cups at these things and keep getting new ones (I do it too!). Bring what you will, and take home what we don't need.

dmj- A table cloth would be wonderful! I didn't even think of that. If anyone else has another one, we could probably use 2 of them.

Can someone bring trash bags? We're responsible for all cleanup.

At last count there was around 85 attending.

EVERYONE needs to come with a drink (or two)- don't forget! I'll also bring our cooler. The more ice, the merrier, as well.

Also a good idea is to bring your own Sharpie and plant markers. Pen and markers to remember what all those plants are in case they are unmarked, and the pen also to mark your name on your cup :)

Trish

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

BTW grease pencils work really well for marking plants and tags.:)
Mary Lee

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

If I remember to I will throw in a roll or two of toilet tissue and paper towels. It has restroom facilities, but just in case it isn't well stocked, better to be prepared.
Oh and Bob (Throneofyord) was kind enough to call the restaurant Golden Coral and ask for a section that we can use for breakfast on Sat 8:30-9 a.m. Thanks again Bob!

Dallas, TX

I will bring trashbags!

Debbie

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

It's on my list as well. Wish my DH would go so he could get pics, and I could play but 'no deal' as Howey says.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Horseshoe, we will be taking lots of pictures and hope not to miss anyone.
Josephine.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Josephine, you are better at remembering names than I am. Thank goodness for Marlyn's name tags I will know people while I am there! But when I get home and look at pics two days later, that will be another story.

Crossville, TN

'Shoe....you know I'll take pictures....but I'm like Sheila...remembering names is another story..

Don't forget to stop by and get your name tags at the registratioon table....and I'll write your name on a list so we can have it for later.

Hurry up, Saturday!

Jo

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Jo, how exciting! You are now breathing the humid, TX Gulf Coast air, lol! Can't wait for Saturday, I'm having trouble sleeping, you guys!

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I will bring cups and something sweet.

Blessings,

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Glad you made it back home safe and sound Jo. Thanks to you and Marylyn for doing the name tags and the sign-up for the door prizes. It was such fun to see everyone that we "know" online but don't have a face for.
Thanks Dave and Trish for the wonderful meal and all of the work you both did to pull this off. It was a great RU!!

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes thanks very much Dave and Trish. I hope you'll have fond memories of that hectic day when you look at the plants you recieved in trade.:)
We got home a little after 7 pm and I started potting up stuff right away. Cardamom ginger and tricolor sage are in pots already. The La iris are still in their bags, but I add dirt and water. I ran out of daylight and energy.:)
I have a question though. Somebody gave me what I think are 3 different La iris in a white Walmart sack. Does anybody remember doing this? And do you remember what they were?
Sheila, those La iris you gave me, there were 2 in that sack. And you told me how to figure out which was yellow and which was purple, but I can't remember what you said.
BTW it was so hectic and windy Sat that I don't think I remembered to thank anybody for the plants they gave me. So I'm a thankin' ya now. Hugs!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Mary Lee, about the two iris that I gave you; the yellow is the one that still has a stalk and old blooms. The purple is blades only.
