Hi Blooms, Lurk less, post more. We miss you.
Maria, So glad that you are feeling better. Tell Samson what a good boy he is for being extra nice to mama.
Sarv, hope you got out of the funk today. I know married ladies shouldn’t look at ring fingers, but it is just like window shopping. Checking out the merchandise!!
Hi Julie, I can’t imagine anything any more interesting than this group. Embroidery must be special.
Dmc, don’t you dare take one step closer to the black hole. Yes this woman is a dear friend. Was my neighbor for 30 years, just like a granny to me. So sad to see her like this. My mother I think is headed in this same direction. Stopped to get her for church this morning, and she was not dressed, and didn’t have a clue that it was Sunday.
Don’t let DS stress you out.
Darius, I imagine that you do more than your share of the work. Even if you don’t everybody needs a supervisor.
Patti the Lurker, why don’t you just come on it and pull up a chair and chat with us?
M5, being awakened by a lick to the nose is sure an eye opener. He is so cute, I could forgive him most anything. You got it. Every family has one who is the one who causes all the trouble. I expect my older DS will take that role in our family.
Woodspirit, Hi, when will you find out about the library job?
Oz, by golly you are right. I think you need to be the official spokesperson for the millions of hearing impaired. You know from whence you speak.!!
Lauriewilson, hope your neck gets better soon.
Bal, that pond looks so nice. At some point in time I would like to have one, My to do list consists of many but first projects.
Vann, glad that your DH is getting to come home. Food will be especially good. And the afghans are really nice.
Sarv, I know, I am like you, I am a doer, DH is a procrastinator. Anyway you are getting your trellises, and you don’t really need them right now.
Mary, your story of the lamb in bed with DH just cracked up, and thanks for the warning before hand.
Babs, I don’t see how you can pull those 14 hour shifts. I would be beyond dog tired.
Mary, again those pics are super.
Dmc, I guess I can add me as another who likes rocks.
Oh, and I see M5, just put her name on the list.
Well, I tried to post earlier, but had a long post, and Miss Boots decided to walk across the keyboard. Had a busy day, church, then lunch, had to take DGD home, and to a neighboring church tonight. I don't plant to watch the Oscars, as I think they are so boring.
I am off to check some other posts, then will probably be back.
Coffee and...For Sunday, March 5, 2006 =^..^=
Hey, MG, our thoughts crossed in cyber space, nice to see you.
Hi Everyone,
You people have been busy since I last stopped by.
Got in a good visit to DH, and then picked up a Subway sandwich and grapefruit juice which I dragged over to the church.to eat.
The covenanting service was lovely and the bells played beautifully - better than a week ago in church. I was VERY pleased with them. I think they all wanted to do really well for Anne. Have to admit that I have mixed feelings about her entering ministry because she will eventually leave us and she's my primary bass-bell hog. Plays all 7 of the really big bells by herself. She didn't play with us tonight so we played a lovely arrangement with uses just three octaves of bells. (Even then, I had to ask someone from a nearby church to join us because I had two ringers out of town.)
Have a good night everyone. I'm going to sign off the computer for the evening.
Ann
Hi everyone ...
Well, looks like I need to straighten out a misconception. No one has hurt my feelings about anything or said they didn't like me, or put me down, etc. I made a joke at my own expense on Friday's thread about the weather when Sarv was teasing and said please not to talk about how pretty the weather was down south. I am quoting my original post so we can straighten this whole thing up once and for all! LOL LOL :)
Quoted
"Hi all
Just came in for a quick bite and to throw a load of clothes over in the dryer. Just had to come in here and see what's been going on in my absence. I've
been sweeping, weeding, planting more seeds and watering. I'm so so sorry ... but oh it's so pretty out. I'm in shorts and sandles today. For those who
don't like me ... you'll love this. Picked up the hose and wasn't paying attention. Turned it on full force to wash out a flower pot and hit myself square
in the fase!! So there ... you don't have to send the 2X4 after me for enjoying the weather. LOL"
Now for today ...
Ann~ was sorry to hear your DH didn't get to come home as first expected but am sure that was the best decision to make. Know he'll be so glad to be home and get some *real* food! :)
Babs~ sounds like you had a good day. Ug, 14 hrs. ... that's way tooo many. Hope the newby catches on quick.
Oz~ thanks for the kind words.
Darius~, I know you ... :) You don't stay still for long!!
Lauriwilson~ oooh, bet that gave you a frite!! Ooops, what a pain. Sure hope your neck feels better tomorrow.
Hi Julie ... great to see ya!! ~~~
Defoe, it's just wonderful to hear the good news about your MIL. So sorry about your friend, though. I can sure sympathize ... as I've already told y'all ... my Grandma also struggles with that. She no longer knows any of us. Just sits and loves her babydoll. :-(
Well, I *know* I'm leaving out a lot, but I still have threads I want to catch up on ... so I'll just wave to everyone tonight. I do want to say hi to Pati and Maria. Please please come more often. I *always look forward to hearing from you two. :)
Oh, I almost forgot ... I've *done* it again. Went and bought me some pansies. Ooooh, got the darkand light purple and a couple of pink to mix in. Planted them in my clay pot. Are they *ever* pretty!! Okay, I'm outta here!! LOL
Hugs all way round.
... Elaine
Suzi, sorry for the misunderstanding. The lambs go out with the number of the ewe that is raising them so that if the ewe is sick we know how many lambs and what number to look for. Sick ewes don't make much milk and the lambs would starve until they are old enough to eat enough grass, or else they bum a sip of milk from any ewe that stands still long enough. They don't do well at all that way. Sometimes we see a sick lamb and need to find the mother to see if she has mastitis. Now and then we loose a ewe to coyotes and the lambs need to be rescued, but more often it is the lambs that become coyote dinner, (easier to grab a lamb than to hang on to the neck of a ewe weighing 200 pounds until she collapses). Their ear tag has the connection to the bio mother if we ever want to trace that back when we are selecting replacement ewe lambs. Actually we seldom need to do that because the placement of the ear tag tells us a lot. Multiple birth females have a tag in the rear edge of the left ear, single birth females in the front edge of the left, males in the front edge of the right ear reguardless of litter number. When they come down a narrow chute single file when they are 90-110 pounds they can be easily sorted. Multiple birthing is a heritable trait and the replacement ewe lambs are selected from the multiple lot, then if there are not enough we go to the single female lot. All the males are sold since replacement sires come from another unrelated flock.
Meezer, we had a cat that would wake us up patting our eyelids. If he got no respose with the soft paw approach then the next time we would feel a claw, gently but it got results. We would hide our heads and listen to him clearing all the small stuff off the dresser. Ole Sneakers was quite a cat. Glad you enjoyed the lamb in bed story. Mullien, yes, we have those too, they grow wild here. Pretty but quite obnoxious.
Ok folks, I've gotta get myself to bed for a while.
It was really a pretty day here for no rain of course. I cleared off some more leaves here and there. Got to keep that PITB going you know. LOL
I took some pictures of some things, but I left the camera in the family room and don't want to wake DH up by going all the way down there to get it. I will get you the pictures soon I hope.
I am very unhappy cause Ranger is slipping away. Keyi said he was very weak today and she thinks it won't be long before he goes. It is so sad, that is all I can think about right now. Sorry.
My dogs think I am crazy I think, because I keep going out and hugging them and kissing them on the head. I do that anyway, just not every 15 minutes, like today. They are not complaining about it. :)
The crocus are going strong, the daffodils are blooming despite the hard freeze a week ago. And the quince I thought would die after that freeze, put on more blooms and is really beautiful. I guess they are more tough than I thought.
I was out working away on raking those leaves and then I would look up and it seems they go on for miles and miles and miles. Ahhhh, how am I gonna get all this done. I am going to have to start looking pitiful and moaning, and maybe DH will pitch in. What do ya think???
I don't need a comment from you Oz about it.
Will go do the daily for tomorrow and think I will go to bed earlier than usual. My muscles that I have left are soooo tired and want to rest. I need to start walking again, I think that is one of my problems, I used to go 2.5 miles every day and I haven't done anything in a long time. I felt so much better when I was walking.
OK, I'm going....
Susan
