Computerized Electric meters

The electric company just installed new meters on our home. It is read by a computer so they do not have to stop by and read it any more. Anyone else have these? Was it better?

Ours was put in a couple of years ago. I did not see any change except that a meter reader does not come around anymore.

We just had power wired into my property on Dec 22. I never saw a meter reader and until 2 days ago I never saw a bill either.

I called and asked about it, they mailed to the wrong address and advised no more meter readers, but done on computer.

I think this is a fine idea, no one stomping around in my flower beds.

We still have a meter reader. Matter of fact the granddaughter of a friend of ours. DH has a beagle that doesn't like too many people, and he was here, and had to go out and hold the dog until she left. Now I guess the next thing we get sued over the dang dog.

They put the new ones in here a couple of years ago. The only difference is that we went from an every two months bill to a once a month bill - and, of course, the rates went up. The dogs like it - one less truck to yap at.
