Using Plant File Pictures on a DG thread

Is it acceptable to copy/paste a picture that is contained in the Plant Files, WITHOUT permission for the person, as long as it is only used on DG?

For instance if I wanted to post a picture on a thread for trading plants, could I copy and paste the picture instead of adding a link to the plant file?

What if the person is no longer available to give permission? i.e. deceased, not a subscriber or does not respond to dmail?

Not meaning to open a can of worms, if you think it will, please feel free to delete this thread.

It's --probably-- okay but for safety sake (so we don't risk upsetting the submitter of the original picture) let's do this instead: link to the picture by adding a hyperlink to it in the thread or wherever on DG you want it linked to.

Using a URL keeps it clear where the photo originated.
