Defoe - I would, if I felt adequately trained myself! But, I think I need to go to CC with you as it has been too many yrs and I am way out of practice too!! Esp w/ my back and hand probs, cannot afford to be careless!

Have a friend w/complete workshop in NY. Maybe I will get him to go over all the details with me again if/when I make it back there. Either that or take a CC course here when get done with my MBA, get a better job and can afford some tools. Then the knowledge will be current too!

Pretty much TX was the last I was able to use the saw myself and we left there in 89. We stored it 3 yrs while in Germany and 2 yrs in NY, till I got my own place. When he took all the stuff he determined was HIS, he put it in his Mom's yard and put a tarp over it. I kept the saw but he went after it as if it were his treasure that he used daily! Gave it to him to help settle the divorce cuz better off w/o him!

He would NEVER admit that I should have been the one to keep and use it! But, that is okay. One day I will have good tools for myself again, playing and having fun! And he will have an old rusted piece of junk that hasn't been used in 20 yrs, blaming me for it not working... Now is about the time I usu say "MEN!"

dmc - Glad you finally got your pony your momma never let you have and are having lots of fun!! Have a g/f that placed 8th world class in barrel racing back when we lived in TX. Have a g/f here with couple of horses too. Horses are great! But...

No way I will even consider it now! My back probs have escalated and chiro said something Monday about my ribs might be separating... Hopefully he is very wrong as I do have a garden to dig!! Have motorcycle license that keep only because there might be a possibility of getting a trike one day.

V Ann - $2 car wash??!! What a deal! Glad your practice went so well that they cancelled the one.

Susan - I do that too, veg out on weekends. Don't know why, cuz then I have to run twice as fast all week long! But, maybe we need to catch up on our rest, as I certainly feel better on Monday morning! Oops, may not tomorrow as it is quite late!!

Elaine - saw picked out for his 50th?! Seeing as you love him so much, I think that is a great idea, get him something he wants and picked out already, LOL Hey, I just turned 50 (1/20), maybe it is an old age thing... gotta get the goodies before get too old to use them!!

Hope I am not going to get smacked w/ that 2x4, but I didn't watch any of the olympics. I don't watch much TV. Sometimes DDs and I will sit and watch a movie, or I'll get the idea I want to watch HGTV, but I pretty much avoid it. I know me, if I start watching it, poof, all my time is gone! Hmmm sort of like this computer has been recently...

Speaking of that, I better get to bed. Need my beauty sleep or I will be growling at girls and then the boss in the morning, LOL

Night all ~ Suzi :)

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning! Early here, 3 something. I just came back from the barn, took a decongestant pill to make me sleepy and a cup of chamomile tea to help it. I laid awake for 2 hrs between the 11pm check and the 2am, don't want to spend the rest of the night that way.

BRose, I don't watch much tv either, usually there is nothing worth watching, but the Olympics are something special so I try to watch. My hubby watches the History channel a lot, and sometimes Nat. Geographic and the Learning Channel, but I find other things to do. Many of those programs are repeats and he sleeps through some of it, "watching" through the eyelids! Snoring. Looking comfy in the recliner.

Tonight's lamb count was 3, from 2 ewes. One ewe was in the barn already when I got there at 11 but she had the lamb shortly before my 2am check. She headed for a far corner when I got there and butted me when I tried to get near the lamb to iodine it's navel so I left her and left a note for Paul. I think she is going to have another lamb The other ewe had 1 lamb in the field and the second one in the barn about 5 minutes after I brought her inside. She had a bit of trouble following the lambmobile in so I had to stop a few times and let her find her baby again, then we would go a bit farther and stop again. Light rain and some wind tonight so I didn't want to take too long making the trip. She is a 2yr old and will act better next year. These would be her 2nd lambs.

ok, I'm sleepy. See ya.

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, a long and almost sleepless night makes a grumpy woofens. Had some difficulty with my 15 DS yesterday, stuff that has been escalating, ended up at a local in patient psychiatric hosp at 7 last night having him assessed. They decided he didn't need in patient treatment, and I laid my head down on the table and cried. I have to call today to get him into therapy, and they want us to drop everything that has happened and start with a clean slate so to speak. We have done that so many times that he is thinking that there is no consequence for his actions :( I've got some more phone calls to make today. His school resource officer and guidance counselor. I am really at my wits end. I never knew it was so hard to be a parent.

I got 4 seeds trays started last week, got baby dianthus and cosmos coming up. waiting on a bunch of other stuff. I am hoping to try some new stuff this year, and lots of different pansies and violas. The variety is amazing!

Gonna call my doctor today too, and ask about getting in for another CT scan of my sinuses. I can tell where the infection is, but I know they will want a scan. I remembered over the weekend that when they did the sinus roto-rooter thing in my head they only did the left side. Of course its the right side that is infected now. I hope I don't have to go through the surgery again. It was miserable and really didn't help that much, but maybe this time won't be so bad since they won't have to break my nose to fix my septum. I don't know. I do know that after the first surgery I lived on percocet for 2 weeks cause my face hurt so bad I wanted to die. I'm so tired of the constant sinus infection though. I never get completely over one before another crops up. It gets really old.

Well, since I've been thoroughly depressing so far, I'll end here. LOL Sorry about that guys

Hugs to all
Janis

Morning - snow again here....baaaa Saying freezing rain on Wed...but it will be March by that time!! LOL Another batch of seeds sprouted last night- I'm making progress!!

Our birthday dinner went well last night - DIL didn't feel real well either!! The manicotti was excellent, but the cheese bread was a complete flop - bought all kinds of things to make it - what a waste!!. It tasted like dog biscuits look! Hard and dry. The homemade sundaes were the highlight (our family loves desserts!!)

Mary, laughed at the thought of you trying to get milk from the ewe...don't they make some kind of powder supplement for those kind of cases? How much longer are you on 'baby' duty? This doesn't go on for months does it?

Keyi - you don't know how much you love working pipes until you lose them!! Glad things are up and running without major dents to your pocketbook.

9kit- what?? 80 you say...oh what I would give to have that temp.. 40's here are a heat wave

Nothing else major planned today- start back on the workout schedule tomorrow. News flash just came back on and they are saying major slide-offs - dozens of cars in the ditches. Glad I can stay right here and putz around. Hello to everyone else!! (where have Maria, Molly, Darius, and Bal been....)

Schroon Lake, NY(Zone 4a)

Hi there~
Just popping in for a minute...

BR~ouch on ribs separating! No, I would be very careful about impact if I were facing that...I think I'd stick with Aquafit or something like that for exercise! I'm not real comfy with table saws and the like either. I think I'm a little too distractable, and probably the loss of a limb or finger would snap me back to reality! When do you finish your MBA?

Mary~It's so cold here and I keep thinking of you out in the middle of the night with newborns! Of course our windchill is about 15 below, and I'm sure you're not that cold.

defoe cat~hope here too that DMIL is having anxiety and not fluid buildup! I could cerrtainly imagine that anxiety could result from all she's been through!! Glad your potluck went well.

Ann~LOL counting bars with the radio! I played piano as a kid, not a musician at all, but know the feeling of being completely immersed in the mentality of it!! Hope you could sleep without playing!!

Hope Kelly checks in with good news today, and that the rest of you are staying warm and healthy!! It's almost spring, even here in the frozen Northeast.

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Morning all, still no fridge. Living out of ice chests is an adventure I wish on no one..Went for a long ride yesterday and I don't know who enjoyed it more me or Salsa.
Woffens I hope all goes better for you today with your DS and you don't have to do the rotorooter on the sinus infections..Mine have never gotten that bad...yet..
Mary, hope you can get some sleep soon. I always wondered why the ewes would go to the farthest point in the field to lamb but when they got scared they would run to the barn. Same thing with cows. I think they just like to see us work.
BR hopefully it's not ribs seperating. I won't use the table saw anymore just the circular and miter saw.
Hello and hope all is good or getting better with all I have not named. Must try to slay the laundry monster and DS just brought me his on his way to work...If you don't hear from me it's due to being flooded again. We're in for 2-4 inches today and the same again tomorrow..Have a great day all....Lauri

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

janis if you smoke or anyone in your household smokes, that can cause or at least aid and abet the sinus infections. So can using wood heat or an open fireplace. I have a friend who had to have several of those little surgeries and her face was often swollen and reddish on one side. fI think she has finally gotten relief.
I have 2 meetings today and am still supposed to work a few hours. Seems imposible right now. Gotta start getting ready.....

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Morning! Oh Woofens, I hope the powers that be give you a break today, you've got enough on your plate for everyone here. I suspect that most mental health professionals have not had to deal on a day by day basis with a family member with severe problems and are sorely lacking in personal experience. Couple that with a painful sinus condition, and I wouldn't blame you for catching the first stagecoach out of Dodge. At one point I was dealing with two delinquent foster kids, my own three, a useless MIL, and an alcoholic spouse, and sometimes thought I should just get in my car, drive away, change my name, and become somebody else.

BR, I'm with you on wedding expenses, DH and I spent a total of $2000 on ours, had friends and family in limited numbers, a very nice sit down dinner, in '86. Much better to spend the money on something tangible, than to put on a big show. But that's just me.

I had to take wood shop in high school, school was so small it didn't have home ec. for the girls, but we had fun learning to use the power tools. They were much simpler than the fancy tools available now. A coworker of DH's invited us over to see his workshop, once. He had every piece of power equipment ever made by Sears, and a huge area to work in. He made a bird house. LOL I said to DH, that's one pricey bird house. I wonder if he ever made anything else!!

I have a little tiller that I bought about 7 years ago at Menards, paid about $170 for it, and haven't regretted it for a minute. It is a little champ, will till down about 5 or 6 inches, it's easy to start, and handle. We had a big Troybilt when we had the mini farm, and I couldn't use it at all, it was too heavy and too powerful for me. This little one I could run all day.

Keyi, YAY, flushing rules!! What a mess to clean up. Glad that's over! You are right about the Huskies, I remember when there was a glut of Dalmations in the shelters because people bought them after the movie came out and then decided it wasn't the dog for them. Dogs were bred for specific purposes, and those characteristics stay with them, herding, protecting, hunting, etc. Big dogs need lots of exercise, some aren't really good with small children, some need constant grooming, etc. and people buy them because they were "cute" in a movie. It's a shame.

Dmcd, uh huh, get on a noisy machine, go out in freezing weather, bump along frozen ruts until your rear end is numb..............not me! My favorite winter sport is picking up a good book, planting myself in a comfy chair, having a few tidbits of chocolate and staying warm!

Ann, good deal on the car wash. DH parks one of his collector cars at an apartment complex that has extra parking available, and they have a car wash that can be used for free if you rent a space. The problem is remembering to bring the door opener so you can get in!! I need to drag the saltmobile in for a wash, I can hardly see it in the parking lots there's so much crud on it. Poor thing needs more than washing, but DH can't work on it until the weather warms up.

Elaine, you are absolutely right, I'm convinced that Mini likes the attention from Sammi, because if he stops jumping on her, she goes and hunts him down until he resumes the sport. She's always been *needy* and she misses my two big guys that went over the rainbow bridge last year as they did a lot of mutual grooming and napping. She sleeps with him a lot, so it's not all torture.

9kitty, could you send us about 20* of that hot air you're getting, we will think it's summer! It looks awful out there today, gray and gloomy. I'm closing the curtains so I don't have to look at it.

Dcat, maybe the nursing staff could give your MIL a Xanax before your DH is ready to leave, and head off the tension beforehand. Poor thing, can't say I blame her, not getting enough air is so scary. He must be exhausted, as well as you, going through this whole episode.

My DH is all stuffed up and cranky, says he thinks he caught his cold from coworkers who don't have enough sense to stay home when they are sick. Which means he'll probably give it to me.......but he went to work anyway....after complaining about the rest of them!! Go figure!

Well, that's all that's rattling around in my head this morning. Need to get busy and tidy up the joint, get showered and dressed....not sure why since I'm not going anywhere.

Waving good morning to the rest of the gang, have a sunny day!

Sheila

Well, made some phone calls, and about our only course of action now is to have him labeled "unruly" by the juvenile court system and placed on juvenile probation. I hate to do that, but I am totally at my wits end. The situation here that brought this all to a head yesterday was one in which someone one could have gotten hurt, especially my younger kids. They said at the hospital last night that "they don't think he means to harm anyone or himself". OK, but what about accidentally? What about just Plain stupidness causing someone to get hurt? What happens then? Oh we're sorry? we didn't think he would do that? Can you tell I'm frustrated and fed up? I have been crying on and off all night and day today, and yesterday. I just don't know what to do anymore and running away sounds great. I won't, but the thought is nice. I'm so sorry to pile all this on you guys but I don't really have anyone else. MG stayed on the phone with me for 3 hours last night.
I told DH a little bit ago that I feel like I've failed as a parent. The thing is, his dad sent him here when they couldn't handle him anymore so it didn't begin with me. Last night, listing all the things that have happened for the hospital, it was just overwhelming. I knew there had been a lot of not so big things and some big things, but when you laid it all out, it just took me buy surprise, and I feel bad for not having done something sooner. I kept telling myself that it was just a phase, an adjustment to living with us and it would get better, and it just gets worse and worse. I felt really guilty for crying when they said they weren't gonna keep him last night, but it was such a let down. I thought that maybe someone could help, and we left with a couple phone numbers and a tentative diagnosis of anger management problems and possible ADD.

I'm just so lost right now guys.

I'm sorry

Janis

I am up, have had some coffee, read the paper, and ready to get started straightening the house.

DH called the hospital this morning, and DMIL is doing good. So they/we are convinced it is anxiety. Sure hope this problems abates.

Won't comment on anything in particular. Will be back later when I have accomplished something, and feel that I have done something worthwhile.

Starkville, MS

((((((Janis)))))) wish I could do more for you.

Defoe - I haven't done a thing worthwhile and I am back!!! What else can you do on a snowy, cold, gloomy day. I did get dressed, curl the locks, wash dishes, made the beds- hmmm, guess I did do something worthwhile - now I need to take a rest! LOL

MIL called at 8:30am to tell me the hospital called her last week and told her she had a clot in her blood and needed to get another blood test asap - now that was on Tues - she called me today and said she was going in for a doc appt and would get one then - she didn't care that they wanted one sooner - she felt fine LOL - sometimes ya just gotta laugh...Since the doc appt is only 4 mi from her house and is in a little local town, a DD is going to take her - unless her car won't start, the wind is blowing, or a piece of snow is on the road. MIL asked that if DD didn't show, would I take her. So now I have to stay home until 1. She said' if you don't hear from me by 1:15 - I am already at the doc' - rather than make an issue - I just said - 'give me a call if you need a ride'....

Woof- gosh, what a mess - huh. Do you think it is just a bad case of the 'teen' years? Do they have any type of boot like camp places near you? Does he misbehave at school too or just at home? Hang in there- you are doing your best. Heavens, don't worry about piling this on us - that's what we're here for- to give each other a hand when in need.

M5- tell DH he is as bad as his sick workers!! I haven't had a really nasty cold this year (yet...), just some sinus, scratchy throat, headache stuff that never lasts long. I am fanatic about washing my hands and maybe that does help~

Speaking of dirty cars- when we were driving at night this past weekend, my driverside window was so salt encrusted that I couldn't see out it to change lanes!! What a glare....I do need to hit the car wash soon!

I've often thought of running away - but where would I go??? Can't show up at kids house, wouldn't want to spend the night in a motel, can't leave the cat.....ah, just staying at home is easier...

Well, I had a mini malt for my midmorning snack...time to think of what to munch for lunch.

Central, WI(Zone 4a)

Good Morning All,

Never did get back yesterday to read all the posts,,,just did that now. Would be Impossible to comment on all, but I Did read all of the posts.

Thanks to all who were thinking of us after Bill's accident. You really don't know how much that means to me.

Bill and his friend Jeff went out to get the sled and bring it home. It's sitting on a trailer with the cover on, so I haven't gotten a good look at it. As soon as I do I will be taking some pics. You never know when they will come in handy for insurance purposes or something else.

Bill was pretty sore yesterday and it got worse as the day progressed. After he got the sled home, he went to his hangout, Trackside Bar and Grill. They have a weekly drawing that was up to $400 and some dollars. He wanted to be there in case his name was picked. It wasn't, so he came home, took some Ibuprofen and layed on the couch moaning and groaning every time he moved. He said he feels a little better today.

He took his van in this morning to find out what's wrong with that and then was going to stop at the insurance agency to get the claim process started. He has full coverage on it, so it should be fully covered. Thanks God!

BR,
Power tools are too dangerous to be using if you're out of practice,,,maybe that class is a good idea. I agree,,,,you should have been the one to get the tools,,but men can be such jerks during a divorce. You'll have better tools of your own someday! You're right, his will be all rusted and no good,,,,serves him right! Gosh, I hope your ribs aren't separating, that would be painful.

Mary,
Everyday your stories amaze me. What an awesome thing to be a part of.

Janis,
No need to be sorry,,,like all have said before, that's what we're here for! I hope your day gets better and you get some good news from either Dr.,,,preferably both!!!! Hugs to you ((((())))))

sarv,
Glad the dinner went well. MMMM Sundaes,,,Love em!!! Ack, something always has to not turn out right when you're having company for dinner.

dmc,
Thanks,,,,

laurie,
Hope the fridge gets fixed soon,,,,,what a pain in the backside

wood,
Hope your meeting go well.

M5,
Whew, with all of that I would have wanted to do the same thing. Heck, I want to do that some days now,,,LOL Aw, Sammi antics are so fun to hear about. If Mini goes looking for him,,,,she's loving his attention,,,,LOL

Keyi,
So glad to hear your pipes are cleared out and it didn't cost you an arm and a leg,,,,,what a mess to clean up tho.

I also agree about the Dalmatians and now the Huskies. It's a shame when people don't do their homework about a particular breed before they get that kind of dog. We have had to learn to work with Mooshka's idiosyncrasies that are part of the instincts of her breed....Huskies are great dogs,,,but they do have their own personalities. Sometimes she's SO Obstinent,,,but it's always things that are breed instincts. And, the hair in the spring and summer is insane,,,I pull handfuls out of her. But, she is the love of my life, next to Bill and she is his too. She's 11 now and still acts like a puppy.

Well, Hi to all I haven't mentioned and to all who haven't checked in yet.

I'm going to get my substantial reat out of this chair and get some things accomplished today.

Hope everyone has a brighter day.

Kelly

Okay, here it is lunch time, and half the day is gone!!! I tried to get a few things accomplished, but have been on the computer an hr. or so. When the mornings are warmer and the plants/flowers are all up ... I won't be able to do this. Better enjoy it while I still can. There'll be watering, etc. that will need doing early in the a.m.

BriarRose, now aren't you the smart one? MBA ... wow. I thought you were old enough to be in our coffee group!! Yuck, I couldn't go back to school if someone held a gun to my head. Great going!!!

Hi Mary ... hope you were able to go back to sleep after your tea and decongestant. What a night. LOL Yuck on the weather.
Quoted ...
Many of those programs are repeats and he sleeps through some of it, "watching" through the eyelids! Snoring.

You just gotta love that discription!!! LOL LOL

woofens, wish I had some words of wisdom for you ... but since I have no children of my own, I won't offer up advice when I've not walked in your shoes. I'm praying that you will find some resolution, though. Hugs going out to you. Sure hope you don't get a bad sinus infection on top of everything else.

Oh manicotti ... how yummy, Sarv. I'm sure no one even needed bread with a meal like that. Kota told me to please ask you to Email the left over bread, though, since it was like dog biscuits. That way, it wouldn't be a loss. :)

Hi Lauri ... so sorry you still don't have a fridge yet. The DH has a spare in his shop that we use for all that extra stuff. I'm so very spoiled. Use to put up a lot of veggies in the summer, and when you have a watter melon, drinks, fresh veggies, ... well you just don't have enough room. LOL I'd be glad to let you put some stuff in it if you were closer. :)

Defoe, am relieved to hear the MIL is having anxiety attacks instead of fluid build-up again. Maybe something can be prescribed that will help her. I'm sure she is probably a bit apprehensive with all she's been through. Am sending prayers to all of you.

Kelly, sure hope your Bill isn't too sore today. Am keeping my fingers crossed that the insurance will cover everything.

Hi woodspirit, M5,tgif, Ann, and the rest of the gang. I've just got to get up from here. Have had several interruptions since I've started this. Need to post and get out of this chair. LOL
Am waving as I leave ... Elaine

Moon Twp, PA(Zone 6a)

Hi there All!

((((((((((Janis)))))))))) You need all the hugs you can get! Hey, he didn't get that way in just the time he spent there with you!! It is not all your fault, so don't blame yourself! And yes, you must protect your babies from him, regardless if it means calling him "unruly"!! Hmmm Say, you said you smoke, right? I realize now is not the oportune time, but if it helps to cause sinus probs, might consider quiting! I don't think I could go through the face hurting like you described!!

Mary, Familiar with that form of "watching" TV, Got to where I turned it off before I woke him up to get rid of that line, LOL. Sounds like your job on the farm is a real adventure lately! Is it always like this? How long does this part with babies being born last?

Lauri, how much longer must you suffer w/o fridge? Hope you get one soon, so you can stop stubbing your poor tootsies! Besides, ice chests take up a lot more room than an upright ref.

m5 - they wouldn't LET me take wood shop, but 6 yrs later, they MADE my DSB take home ec, LOL! I have always regretted that too!!

Well, my 1/2 hr lunchtime is over. Catch you later! Have a super duper fantastic day everyone!! ~ Suzi :)

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Good morning everyone,

Gonna go back over the weekend's posts and try to comment. This may take awhile. Will probably interrupt it fo an aquafit class.

Carol - sorry to hear that DF is not doing well. I'm sure your visits mean a lot to him.

woodspirit1 - isn't it incredible how it's impossible to replace carafe's to coffee machine - or more expensive than buying a whole new machine? Enjoy your stainless steel coffee pot. Did you get the double boiler?

sarv - the way that wedding turned out, maybe next time you should listen to the whining of DH. LOL

When you and BriarRose74 talked about dinner at weddings being $40 and $85 a plate - YOU didn't pay that did you? (Wouldn't be surprised if some people DID try to get wedding guests to pay for their own dineer these days). BriarRose, I bet you could go into business or do well with a book about the Frugal Wedding Planner!

Elaine, the hair looks great. Must have missed the pic somehow, the first time through the thread. Love the pics of the flowers too. Are you able to appreciate the flowers through touch or just the fragrance? As I said before, I'm continually amazed at how visual you are for someone who can't see. But how can you subject us northerners to the torture of your baby tomatoes?

Susan, so glad that DD is pain free. Hope your azaleas bloom.

keyi - sorry to hear about the middle of the night plumbing problems.
LOL about the Always pads. Hope you were able to find a sympathetic plumber.

defoe, I echo the request to trace and post a drawing of your plant hanger. How did the pot-luck go? Miss Boots looks VERY compfy as a computer cat. Your son was lucky with the 5 deer that he hit that he didn't have more damage than bent fenders or an injury. Glad to hear DMIL is doing well.

Re: chocolate, the miracle drug! - We indulge in a square of really dark chocolate every day. Supposed to help keep the blood pressure down. Sounds like as good an excuse as any. ;-)

dmc - your wedding sounds a lot like mine - church basement reception with the food donated by a church group in exchange for a donation. No alcohol. Not a dinner, but a tea-like reception (I understand the real party started after we left). But that was back in 1968. Now everyone seems to want to outdo the other folk. We felt we did well to get away with a budget of about $10,000 Cdn. back in 1998 when DD got married.

My DD is into horses. I'll have to bring her along if I come to see your farm next summer. (Afraid I never have been. Sorry!)

Kelly - what an awful incident with Bill and the snowmobile. Thank God he's OK. Often people with lots more protection than a snowmobile will offer end up on the losing end when they hit a deer.

Mary - glad to hear the latest news on lambs. How is the sickly twin doing? Your story of milking the ewe was really interesting.

Sheila, we were suposed to have between 10 and 15 cm of snow on Saturday, but it worked out to be only a couple of cm. I think the brunt of the storm went just south of us again.

keyi - just got to your report of the working toilets. Hallelujia!

Susan - 80 degrees and no rain! Sounds awful. Sure hope you get more moisture than last year.

Finally got to this morning's thread. When I downloaded it earlier, there were only 2 replies. Better connect and refresh the screen. Think I'll save everything I've written above, just in case. LOL

---------------
OK - up to 13 replies now. More takers before I finish writing?????

BriarRose74(Suzi) - the car wash is good at $2, but I should have mentioned that you have to wield the high pressure hose yourself. It's not one of those drive-through jobs. But it is equipped with a foaming brush as well as an option for wash or rinse high pressure. And now it takes quarters and twoonies as well as loonies (which is all it would take last year) and it gives varying lengths of time depending on the amount of money. I rarely use the foaming brush. Just wash with soap for about a minute and use the rest of the time rinsing and cleaning the ice out of the tire wells. It never looks perfect, but you know it's gonna get salt encrusted again soon enough anyway.

Re the cancelled practice, it used to me that Monday noon was the only time we could get on stage for a Monday evening concert. And it used to be in this civil service town (National capital) that most people could get an extended lunch hour on occasion. All that has changed. The orchestra has found funding to enable us to have the stage the day before the concert and more an more people work in jobs that they can't easily get away from. So the Sunday rehearsals have become the dress rehearsals and the scheduled Monday rehearsals are only used if we really need them. We DID use it in January, but the concert date was changed to be a week earlier because of our national election. Since we put the entire concert together in 8 days instead of the usual 15, they pulled us in for the Monday noon rehearsal.

Mary, good lamb count for the night.

(((((Janis))))) - will keep my fingers crossed for your son. I hope you are able to get all the help he needs. And good luck with the sinuses.

dmc - I did better sleeping after a rehearsal os Shostakovitch than i did the previous two evenings which ended with the last mvt of Beethoven's 8th. LOL

Re Janis's second post - don't be too hard on yourself as a parent. Kids are very good at shifting all the blame to their parents instead of taking resonsibility for their own actions and there isn't a parent out there that hasn't made some mistakes. The course of action recommended to you sounds pretty drastic though.

If you have him labelled "unruly", what are the consequences? Is there any help available to you? Don't be afraid to keep asking questions.
And don't accept any solution offered to you without looking at all possibilities. You certainly will be in my prayers as you deal with this.

Did anyone see the Olympics closing ceremonies? I put a tape in the VCR and thought I programmed it right. DH confirmed that the machine was on; but I don't seem to have anything on the tape. Either my programming skill have gotten rusty (a distinct possibility) or the machine isn't working properly (another distinct possibility since it's really old). I saw some of it on TV after I posted last night - maybe the last 40 minutes. Can somebody tell me what the significance of all those girls in wedding dresses was? They didn't match - a wide variety of styles; so it's not like a regular costume.

I went to aquafit, stopped by the FC with a chair I borrowed for the concert on Saturday. Never sat in anything as awful as the chairs at the church where it was held. And the space was cramped; so I borrowed a small stacking chair. Might go buy one for myself in case i need it again. Then to the bank to return some documents to the safe deposit box. Haven't practiced yet, but that's the bonus time with no lunch time rehearsal. Also want to get out to a local mall to check out a couple of things. DGD wants me to make her an afghan. Well, actually, she said to me, about the one which is nearly finished, "is it going to be mine?" I promised to make her one with pink, purple and spring green. But then I have to do one for DGS as well since they are twins. I think his will have bright blue, a different green, and red. Am going to use 4-ply worsted acrylic and a larger hook. LOL Want to go look at colors of yarn and get a sample ball to experiment so I can determine how much yarn I need to get.

Better quit. No new messages the last couple of times I refreshed the screen. Need to get lunch and get functioning.

TTYL.

Ann

Hi,

Didn't get around to posting yesterday though I did read everything, and have read all of today's, but I'll be buggered if I can remember most of it anyway.

Keyi, glad the plumbing woes were taken care of.

Janis, so sorry for all your troubles. Is this the son that was apparently staying with your mother for a while before? I don't know any specifics, but if it has become something of a contest/conflict between you and him, a cooling off period might be good for both of you if there's anywhere else he could go for a while (short of foster care which can often be a nightmare).

Hi Vann, I can't really comment on either the music or the Olympics as I'm not into either, but my mother watched the whole of the closing ceremonies last night and I don't think that she knew what the whole bride thing was about either.

Sarv, as others have said, that was a "memorable" wedding anyhow. I'm sure that the people who paid for it weren't amused, but it sounded pretty funny to me. We paid for our own wedding almost nine years ago and it was very small -- immediate family (on my side, his are all in England and nobody came over for it though they were invited) and a couple of old friends. We were married and had our reception in an historic inn a few towns away from where we live. DH keeps telling people that we were married in a fireplace and I keep saying "in the inglenook, NOT in the fireplace d****it." Anyway, it cost around $2000.00 and several people gave us money, even though we had told them that gifts were not needed or expected as we'd already been together for ten years before that, and that helped defray the cost as well! Nobody in my immediate family has had one of those huge expensive weddings. I don't think that spending that kind of money on something like that made any sense to any of us. One of my father's sisters and her husbands spent a small fortune and had one of those big to-do's for their youngest daughter ---- who got a divorce 6 months later.

My mother and I went to the flower show in Worcester, MA yesterday. There were some nice landscape settings (one of the best by a customer of mine who owns a garden center in a nearby town), but as the primary sponsor this year was a masonry supply company, I swear there was more stonework than flowers!

Spent part of today up in the crawlspace/attic trying to find some genealogy info I thought I'd put up there. Ugh! I get volunteered to get in there because it's a cramped little area under the eaves and I'm smaller than DH (I usually say "I'm five feet short" as I'm certainly NOT tall!) We've found a few interesting (and in my opinion, horribly ugly or hopelessly useless) "antiques" and "retro" items. Maybe DH can unload a few on E-bay. Still haven't found what we've been looking for though.

I have to add my two cents worth to the "watching TV through his eyelids" bit. Around here we call it "special" reading or TV watching. DH does it constantly. Book + bed (or sometimes, just putting his feet up on a footrest) = sound asleep. I'll go in and take the glasses off his face, turn out the lamp and try to take the book to put it on the nightstand ------ half the time to find myself engaged in a tug-of-war while he says "mumble, mumble, mumble, Reading!" He even fooled me once as he was semi-propped up in bed with a book in his hands when I discovered that we had a bat flapping around. I went downstairs for some reason and told my mother. We both went back upstairs and by now the bat was flapping around in the bedroom. We were looking in from the doorway and just as I was thinking "Gee, he's being really calm about this." he woke up and screamed. (DH is scared of moths, so you can imagine what he thought upon waking to see a bat fluttering in front of his face.) He has since reported it as a vampire with a wingspan of 6 feet. Right.

Oh yeah, that reminded me, GG, I wanted to add my thoughts to those of the others --- glad that the worst your DH got was a bad bruising! Must confess that I did feel bad for the deer though.

D'cat, I'm glad that your MIL's episode seemed to be an anxiety attack rather than more fluid build-up. Anxiety attacks aren't much fun either, of course. I had one once that made me think I was having a heart attack, couldn't seem to catch my breath, etc.

There's stuff to do ---- must pry myself away from this infernal machine. Waving to all, epecially anyone I didn't mention by name and all of our other regulars who are currently MIA.

(((((Janis))))) and (((((Bill)))))

Not doing much today. Wasted a whole morning in town, returning a dented (while in the box) 2 light, 4 foot fluorescent fixture and looking for a new one. The first ones we bought were cheap at Lowe's, and they will only support 32 watt bulbs. The full spectrum bulbs I bought for seedlings are 40 watt. Didn't ALL shop lights used to be 40 watts?

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

As I recall, our wedding costs were the tip for the Pastor who did the job at BIL's house and the license fee. Never was one for fancy.

Good news is great news. Dogs and stool samples went to the Vet first thing this morn. Kids got their shots and the Vet said there was no problem with heartworm in our area. The question was re: hookworm, and the Lab saying they wanted to confirm the test as there was a question of identity. Now I can get back to living, and moving very old plants. The picture is the corner that get cleared out and replaces with a drilled basalt column in front of the Acuba.

Ann, that 4th movement of #8 is a busy sucker. 'Nuf to keep a body awake. 4th movement of the 9th is one of my very favorites. Have a version with Miguel Rios singing, a real joy.

Mary, hope you are getting a nice rest after those long cold trips with the lambs.

Keyi, can we all say FLUSH now and make it all better? Sure is nice to have the inside 'facility' working again.

Defoe, glad MIL is improving. Mental attitude is so very important for any healing.

Sarv, did DD find an excuse yet for not driving ? Kick back, open a container of tofu and have a relaxing day to yourself.

grrrr- Darius that is maddening...I hate doing returns - especially arguing with some nitwit clerk!

McC I watch tv thru my eyelids too!! DH constantly peeks to see if I am awake - then tries to turn the channel. I usually can tell immediately. It is constant feud about it here!! LOL Funny story about the bat!! It would look huge to me too I'm afraid! I'm glad it was you up in the crawl space - I hate small spaces and avoid them at all costs!

I never saw any of the closing of the Olympics - company was over and they were watching something else I guess. Oh well, I guess I'll see the highlights on the news tonight.

I just checked and my computer hasn't been shipped yet. Oh I can hardly wait! Think it will make my typing any better/faster?

Woof, it there is fire setting involved - it is very serious. And I would be thinking of my other children! Back when I was teaching, I had a couple of students that were fire setters/animal mutilators. They ended up in a facility full time for intensive theraphy. One ended up returning to the school system after quite a long period of theraphy, but I don't recall what happened to the other. Please get all the help you can - it must be terribly frustrating for you - I'll be thinking of you....

DH is trying to talk to me about making some new trellis's. I have two of those plastic fan ones and my sweet autumn clematis finally broke one, so we need to do something. He loves to make things, but they are usually really weird. He wants to make a small mock up one - I think that would be a lot of extra work. I feel the need for the 2x4!! He's drawing, so I better go look

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Hi again. Dreary day here with rain and wind. When I fed the horses this morning it was only windy, but I had planned to go riding today. Hmmm, should have gone yesterday. I just looked at the major storm that is blowing through on the weather channel, very ugly! My endurance riding friend who lives about 40 miles from me (that is close) was in the ER Friday for pneumonia, feeling a bit better but still has a long ways to go. She says she has cabin fever, has been pretty much housebound for about a week already and was hoping to get out and ride fairly soon but I guess the weather will keep her indoors when she needs to be resting.

Janis, you need all the hugs we can send your way. Don't feel bad for venting on us, we can handle it and you don't need to feel guilty. You have plenty to handle without that. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers that the boy will get the help he needs and that nobody will get hurt. I see a bright spot in your situation, starting seeds! Hang in there. I do have to second the suggestion about the smoking, at least smoke outside so you and your family are not breathing it all the time. I know that quitting is a very hard thing to do, but there is plenty of help available, patches, gum, etc, and lots of support here from your own personal cheering section.

Dcat, anxiety is easier to control than the fluid in the lungs, so I hope she does better from now on. It's been a long couple of months for all of you.

Sarv, yes they have powdered stuff with colostrum and also a milk formula, but it has to be mixed and they really do much better on the real thing. We often milk a ewe that has too much milk and give the milk to other ewe's lambs. Not every ewe makes the same antibodies so we combine milk or colosturm from them to spread the good stuff around. Any stress (illness, cold, rejection, injury) increases the need for antibodies. The lamb that needed the milk night before last has gone to anther neighbor who also raises sheep and she takes the ones that need to be bottle babies. She has more time right now since her sheep are finished lambing.

The lambing will be pretty much done before the end of the month. With the weather turning nasty you can bet the ladies will be popping them out in record numbers, I think it has something to do with the barometric pressure and the moon will be full in a few days too. I got about 4 hours of good sleep until the phone rang at 8:15, nobody there when I got to it.

~~ ~~ waving to everyone. Elaine, you said your computer makes sounds for the symbols, I have to giggle when I think what you just heard! Have a great day.

Hi Again All,

Well, I didn't get nearly everything accomplished that I hoped to,,but taking a quick break.

Ann,
Have to agree with you about chocolate,,,I just love it,,,now you have given me a new excuse for eating some,,,LOL Yes, most people that hit deer on sleds most often do not live to tell about it or are in hospital with all kinds of problems,,,I am still thanking God that He took care of him. Bill is now past that point and he's just miserable over his sled. He looked for a year for a good deal on just that sled,,,rode it for a total of about 200 miles this winter and now this,,,he keeps walking around the house bellering about D*** deer. Told him today that hopefully it is mostly cosmetic damage,,,will have to see when he takes it in to get it looked over. I watched part of the ceremonies but had No Clue as to what they were trying to do with the wedding dress look??????? It's so sweet that the twins actually want the afghans,,,most kids turn their noses up at them, could never figure that out,,,I have always loved them,,,so nice and warm.

McCool,
Don't feel bad,,,I can't remember what I just read,,,let alone from a half or full days postings,,,LOL Hope you can find what you are looking for up in the attic. Genealogy is fascinating. LOL @ the ugly stuff,,,amazing what you find when your going t stuff isn't it? Thanks for your thoughts for Bill. Don't want to upset anyone so won't go into details,,, but I felt sorry for the deer also,,,

Darius,
Thanks for the hugs for Bill,,,,he thinks I'm nuts when I tell him everyone on DG is glad he's o.k.,,,LOL He just doesn't *get it* about DG. Sounds like a crummy way to spend your morning,,,I would think that shop lights would be At Least 40 watts,,,even more,,,but then I don't know much about shop lights,,,Hope you find a good replacement.

Robert,
Glad to hear it isn't Heartworm and that you can get that off of your mind. Tofu????? sarv??? LMBO

sarv,
Sorry,,,couldn't help myself,,,,LOL

Well, thanks again all for you thoughts and concerns for Bill. He came home at lunch today and said his ribs are starting to hurt now,,,was pretty grumpy,,,told him at least nothings broken,,,and what the heck do you expect doing acrobatics in the middle of a field.

Off to get some more things done.

Okay Mary this is soooo much fun. I have a confession to make. I'm learning as I go along. What do the ~ symbols stand for in your post? You see ... I have to assign a sound scheme to the smilies, etc that y'all use. What do y'all call them? Anyway, I try to match a sound as near to the pic as I can. For instance ... I chose a click for a wink and a piano cord C, ... C, E and G played separately for a smile. It sounds happy to me. But I don't know what the ~ stands for so haven't assigned anything to that symbol.

Ann, you asked if I enjoyed the feel of the plants as well as the fragrance. It depends on how delicate they are. I hate touching the flowers only to know I've caused them to turn brown. Gardenias are very sensitive and will turn brown easily if handled, so I'll just trail the stem to cut for an arrangement or to sniff. Magnolias also are easily bruised. There are so so many ways to see, though. I love going bare footed, never *ever* wear gloves, and have hearing and smell like a dog. hehehe LOL But I've found that your scences are like musical instruments. You aren't born knowing how to use them. It comes with practice. It's something that has developed through many years. I see things that the DH *never* sees. LOL

Hi McCool ... sounds like you have to have everything altered like I do! I'm 5 1 1/4. Notice I didn't leave off the 1/4. LOL

We had a very small wedding. We weren't from the same town, so only the families came. I was married in my church ... at the front in a short dress. The reception was in the fellowship hall, and my aunt did the entire thing with the exception of the cake. In fact, the only expense I had was the cake and flowers which were minimal as my sis was my maid of honor, and she carried a single long stemmed red rose. There was an arrangement in the front of the church and I carried my Bible which had roses and babies breath on it. That was laid on the brides table. Very simple, but we got the check. LOL LOL And God knows we *needed* it!!! We were 18 and just babies.

Well, I'm off to check some forums. Will check back later. ... Elaine

Elaine, I use the symbol ~ a lot, but usually at the end of a post or email just before my name. I use it to mean "from"...

Hi Everyone,

Will have to be brief as I need to have an early dinner and find some relaxing time. I like to soak in a hot bathtub before a concert, but don't think I will tonight since I went to aquafit this am. But to be able to pull it together for the concert (no more time to mark things, just DO it!!), it really helps if I get some quiet focus time.

and I have to agree. Fast moving sextuplets throughout. The conductor, knowing he was dealing with an amateur group, told them "think tremolo", but it really should be measured sextuplets except when it moves into triplets or duple time. But you have to get hyped for the rhythm.

Went out to a local shopping centre this afternoon only to find that my favourite yarn store is closing. They'd already sold most of their yarn stock, but I was able to get one ball of 4-ply worsted weight to play around with hook sizes and pattern. Then I'll take it apart and measure how much I need x the number of squares. Most of the balls have an approximate yardage on them these days. But I'll have to find another place to buy the yarn. I know Walmart has quite a bit, but I HATE the store. Maybe the one in my daughter's neighbourhood is a bit better than the new one close (not really) to me.

Also walked into a sports store to see if I could find a bathing suite before I'm desparate for a new one, but didn't stay long because of the raucous music. Told them why I was leaving too! I DI find a curling brish with bristles long enough that I think they will work on my hair. Mine fell apart a few months ago and the only one I could find has really short bristles - about 5 mm. Doesn't work. And neither does a curling iron, very well.

Got about 90 minutes of practicing in this afternoon. Hope to be able to successfully fake my way through one dastardly passage (difficult notes, awkward bowing and fast) in the Shostakovich. LOL

Bye for now.

Ann

Oh my goodness Elaine, you married at 18? Yes what a baby you were!!
Interesting how many had small weddings....We had a day that was 72 degrees, sky blue as could be, just perfect....what would that cost ? The whole bill was around $1000 in 1986, but it was very pretty. I hired a pianist to play classical music at the reception (actually wanted a string quartet!!), th flowers and room were beautiful, overlooking Lake George. It really can be planned to be tasteful and pretty and not expensive.
The biggest weddings seem to result in divorce pretty quickly. Don't know if that's true across the board or just seems that way

Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Hello! FInally got caught up on my reading! I always miss so much by not being here on the weekend. I'll try to comment on what I remember.

As for weddings. We were married in 1986. we had about 60 guests and our bill was under $2000. We just has a reception at a local firehouse banquet hall. Had a band because one of the members was a friend of the family, so got them cheap. Everyone had a great time.

Elaine - Your babies are so cute! I'm jelouse of the floweres though. I can't wait until warm weather.

Defoe - Good news about MIL! Yea!

Kelly - So glad your GH is oK. Some of those snowmobiles can go so fast. We have old slow ones thank goodness. I do like to ride them and the four wheelers. DS and stepson work for a dealer and I'm afraid they will come home with one of the fast ones one of these days. Unfortunately, they get discounts on them and get first crack at trade-ins.

Almost time to leave work, so I'll have to wrap it up for now. Will try to get back later it things arn't too crazy at home tonight.

Speaking of weddings. Ours was just immediate family (no aunts/uncles grandma/grandpa even) Just my brother and sister and DH 9 bro/sis. I was the oldest in my family and DH was next to the oldest - 18 people at the wedding!! Now is that small or what!! Went to Finger's Chicken for reception - didn't even have a wedding cake. I hate things in my honor - always have - always will. We were married in DH church - didn't even have music, but did have some flowers - can you tell I am a plain Jane!! I was a mere baby - 19, DH was 20 - we were poorer than church mice, but very happy. I was still in college with two more years to go. DH worked for his dad for pennies.

My dad wanted me to have a huge blow out - band/dancing/booze, but DH family were anti drinking and my dad had an alcohol problem, so I opted to have as little as I could. DH and I both still don't like huge gatherings...we are basically homebodies.. Someone snapped a few pics - I wore a short royal blue dress. DH side of the family held a small reception later, but I remember that one aunt/uncle and kids wouldn't come as they thought I was pregnant. LOL didn't have kids until seven years after I was married- I never did care for that aunt/uncle... I laugh about it now. My DS that just got married is just like me - wanted no ceremony/reception etc. They too had a small one, but way bigger than mine!

DH is working on my new trellis's. I think I am going to like them and will post a pic when we get them up. He loves a project!! Still have to go out and get some more copper pipe for them.

I've only had tofu once- it reminded me of chewing on a sponge...wouldn't order it again! But I could easily be a vegetarian - I just have lost my taste for meat. (but never sweets!! LOL)

Hello all! Remember me?

Been laden with work and a heavy heart (lost foster dog, lost cat, lost dear ex-brother-in-law) and well - just been out of it. But today was a beautiful day that made me think that spring wasn't far away after all - maybe I'll survive.

No big news other than going to have a sleep study done Wednesday night/Thursday. They think I have sleep apnea - which might explain me being tired all the time.

Other big news is we're putting laminate flooring down in our living areas. Flooring on order and can't wait to get nasty carpet out!

All for now.

Marcia! (On the flooring) Wondered where you've been! So sorry about the Heavy Heart. Losses are to be expected but still weigh heavily. So sorry.

Hugs,

Memphis, TN(Zone 7b)

Hi Darius! How are you and Molly et al doing? Good I hope.

I've just been rather foggish the last two months - too much going on.

The flooring we're getting is Dupont Real Touch Elite - only sold at Home Depot - do a search on it and you'll find it easily. We're putting Maple Block in the hallways, stairs, great room and dining room. Then we're putting the Copper Slate in the kitchen. It will be a lot of work - but it will be so worth it! I plan on taking before/during and after pics...so more to come.

Also have all my paint colors picked out - From Lowes - Chili Pepper for the kitchen, Shy Time for the great room, New Penny for the hall and all the trim will be Pale Bloom - none of which sounds like they'd go together - but they do. So gonna be busy.

Hope all is well with you gals!

Moon Twp, PA(Zone 6a)

Our wedding wasn't small, just small in price, $500. We decided Monday (Washington's B/Day - Holiday) to get married on Friday. He called the commander and told him, and they let him take leave on Tuesday to get blood tests, etc, then he had to go out to the field Wed AM-Thurs night. Yes, he was in the Army.

Wasn't really that impromptu as had planned to get married in the summer, but figured let the gov't pay for my move too, as he was leaving shortly for Korea.

Had huge cake, from HEB if I remember correctly. Nice blue tipped carnations w/ baby's breath (hey, it was Feb and didn't want to pay exorbiatant for roses!) Friend used my camera and took photos, other friends took photos and gave us some. Got a very nice white gown with a hook-up bustle too, for $68! (1982!) Borrowed a very nice veil... Got married in the Red Team Chapel on post, right down the street from his company.

Almost his entire company and many from the battalion came to both the wedding and reception, probably at least 120 people! A friend stood in for my Dad, since he was in Ohio and pretty laid up at the time. I waited till Wed night to call Dad so he wouldn't have time to convince my brother to drive him, cuz he would have tried too!

Don't get me wrong, I loved Dad and very much wanted him there, but didn't want him to go through the pain to get there! He had Rheumatoid Arthritis really bad and could barely get around. Besides, we were supposed to have a reception in both Ohio and NY but never did.

Nice trip down memory lane... was eons ago. Got divorced Dec 2000.

Elaine - was that a compliment about old enough to be in the coffee (lemonade for me!)?? I turned 50 last month so hopefully I am old enough - maturity might be another story, LOL I was in law school but life happened! So, planning to start MBA program in May. Gotta do something to get higher paying job that pays more money!

Hey - I thought of running away too... but to where? Let's throw the troublemakers out, LOL Why should we leave!!??

V Ann - that is so nice that you are making them the afghans!! My older DD is making me one. Been working on it for about a yr, s-l-o-w-l-y! About all I ever crocheted became a Barbie blanket and it was couple inches wider on one end than the other, LOL But, I have created items out of plastic canvas and very creative with photography, just cannot crochet very well!!

Good luck with the trellis Sarv!

Marcia - sorry about the heavy heart! Hope the sleep study helps!!

I only got 4 hrs sleep last night and my giant headache hasn't gone away yet. I need to finish up here, go over DDs stuff for her math and literature for tomorrow and conk out early.

Big Hi and a cheery good night to everyone!!! ~ Suzi :)

Hope everyone has a good nights sleep. See ya in the morning.

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Well, I said I would come back when I got something accomplished. I had planned on just straightening the house, but decided that I would start serious spring cleaning (I know it's not spring) but when spring gets here I want to be outside, not worrying about what needs to be done in the house. So I started in the bathroom off our bedroom. Washed everything from ceiling to floor, Washed curtains and towels, cleaned under the vanity, and took off old wax with amonia, and scrubbed the floor. Will wax it tomorrow. Next (tomorrow) move on to our bedroom. This is just general cleaning nothing major to be done. No painting, wallpapering etc. Just get dirt out.

Meezer, you will be glad to know that I made homeless those diazens who inhabit the dust bunnies. I did the overs, unders behinds, and neaths. Scrapped the cob webs from the corners and ceilings, also. I have come to the conclusion that bathrooms are the nastiest places in the house. The hair spray build up on all surfaces was horrendous.

Please know that I have read all, and there is no way to comment on each and every.

Woofens, ((( Janis ))) from me. Seems like when we go through situations, they seem bigger and worse than maybe they really are. Not to say they are not serious. Just try to take your days in 15 minute bites. That way, you can stand anything for 15 minutes, then focus on the next 15 minutes. When you look at a day, a week, or a month, even a year, that is when you get overwhelmed. Don't apologize for unloading on us. That is what we are here for.

Sarv, sounds like you have the same problem with DH that I do. I bought some florescent fixtures to hang in a corner of the garage to have my own little seed starting area. Didn't ask him to hang them, but today, he came in and asked me to come to the garage. There he is grousing about the fixtures. If you had asked I would have moved that one over here, etc. Then didn't want to do it like I wanted it. Dang it all. Am going to wait until he is gone somewhere, ask DS to come down, and we will fix it like I want it. It is always his ideas, his way.!! I try to overlook things, as I know he is under tremendous stress, but I just want it fixed my way. No don't send the 2x4, he's a good guy, just get frustrated at times with him.
That's why I want to learn to use tools, etc, so that I can do things myself, and won't have to debate the methods etc.

Well, it seems like everybody has taken a walk down memory lane about their weddings. So this is my story: DH and I were 21 and 18 respectively. Got married by his minister with only family present. Small tea like reception, no honeymoon, as we were poorer than church mice. Had a nice photo album of pictures taken by a friend, and 3 years into the marriage, house burned, and lost those. So all we have are memories, and 41 years.

Well, I am going to check out some other forums, may be back later.

To all of you who I have not addressed, please know that I read all, and enjoyed it, just not time to reply.

Welcome again, Betsy Bug, sorry about your heavy heart. Time heals.

Forgot to add that I after I first posted this morning, found out that they did another cat scan on DMIL today to make sure that it wasn't fluid build up. Have started her on lasix and she does have some fluid, whether on the lungs or not, we will not know until tomorrow. Please keep her in your thought and prayers, as we thought that the long road was getting shorter, and she was improving, and was working toward coming home.

Well, I really am off to bed now, think of me as I slave and clean tomorrow!! If anyone wants to volunteer, the answer is yes, just come on down. Will treat you to some real southern hospitality.
