Coffee and...For Tuesday, February 21, 2006 =^..^=

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Oh, and I'm an herbal tea drinker, not having a fondness for coffee. Hope that's close enough to be in the club. There is always coffee brewing for the other humans in the house though.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Rob and I took up bellydancing for exercise last year, and boy does it tone your tummy. The mother of one of my daughters friends is in a troop and she exclaimed that it's the first time in her life she's had a waistline! It's a lot of work, but so much fun. I sew, so have made some 'costumes' for working out in. Makes it seem like more fun that working out, but you do sweat. Guess you guys are all in the chat room huh? I tried to go in, but just got the message bar, nothing else. Bummer

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

Keyi,

Hey howdy and welcome!

Dave broke the chat again, so we are all in the "chat annex".

Come join in. Margaritas and chocolates are being passed around!

I promise this is the last post (maybe) for today. Just wanted to comment on a couple of things.

Sarve, rats about the computer being out of stock. I have had good luck with Gateway computers, and you can order by phone. You can put pieces together, or they always have a package. Oh oh, what are you going to tell the brother about the trip?

Vann, thanks for the compliment on the haircut, it is really to my liking.

M5, Sorry abou the oops on the drapes. That's why I don't sew so much anymore!! Thank you for slaying the laundry monster, does that mean we don't have to worry with it anymore?

Bal, all of us here are bewildered and confused, and not just about computers!!

Mary, loved your question "what do sheep count when they can't sleep?" If you get an answer let me know. LOL The spare ribs and kraut sound good.

Babs, Mary's motion gets a second from me. I think that your mum should be the first to use your new toidy!!

101, your take on ribs with creamed potatoes sounds good too. I usually have garlic mashed potatoes with ribs.

Maria, Thanks for the compliments on the pics. I sure want Babs to answer the tear duct plugs too. Never heard of them.

Darius, so good of you to come to Sarv's rescue. I am sure she appreciates it.

McCool. GREAT CANDLES, GREAT JEWELRY, Oh, my gosh, I want one of everything. I laughed about you and roommate redoing a room. Well at least you got the accents.

Keyi, Petaholic?? Sounds like a zookeeper to me. If I add in the DH's hunting dogs and his pet dog that brings us to 7. Are all these pets in the house? Oh wow.

Kittymom, how did the exercises go today. Oh, you posted today, so hope to hear from you again tonight.

dmc, are you okay after the jumping lessons?

Okay, I am going to check out some other forums, then maybe be back later.

Albany, OR(Zone 8a)

Dcat, love see you in the pics. Now I know what you look like, hehe. Now I can have a picture of you in my mind. I love that! Since I am very visual.
My father is doing well but want to see them. Haven't seen them since November and that is a long time!
Am going to Hawaii in May.
Mich, I have some daylilies that I can send you when I send the dahlia tubers if you want.
Sarv, as for the computer. Everyone here has good ideas. I wouldn't get a HP tho. Not the best, reliable computers. Dell, Gateway are good ones. As for the Mac, my sister loves them and I know Mac owners love them. Like Darius says, they are good, but I know nothing about them. My father builds mine so can't say much tho at work, I have had a Dell for years and it works fine.
It was warmer today, in the upper 40's after the teen temps. Much nicer, not freezing my butt off all day long.
By the way, do any of you guys have hydrangeas? With the weather being down in the teens, the leaves and buds on the hyd. looks like they have literally melted. Will they just grow new ones later? Or do I have to wait another year?
Even my hellebores have literally melted. I am surprised on how sad a lot of my perennials look due to the nasty cold weather we had.
Well, off to maybe make some cookies. Will have to put some on the counter later for you all for a snack.
Later, Carol (DR)

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

DR don't know a thing about hydrangeas, or hellebores. Sorry. Are these in your greenhouse, or outside? I noticed today, with all the freezing, thawing, I have some tulip bulbs that have heaved right out of the ground. Do I put them back, or do nothing? Never had this happen before. I have daffs, daylilies, and iris that are beginning to emerge. Sure hope they don't get their little heads frosted!!

Well, I really am gone this time. You all please enjoy the pics I posted, as it will be a long time before I post again. Pics are so slow here.

Well have a good restful night, and a refreshed morning.

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Speaking of heaving out of the ground. We have been planting ferns, elephant ears and other shade things along the driveway edge. When planting them we put alfalpha pellets down in the plant hole. Good for the plants. Next day I look to see how the plants are doing, they have been dug up and thrown aside. Something is hankering after the pellets!!!!!

And I keep getting accused of fergitting to put the plant in the ground.
I would have agreed on one, but not several, every dog gone day.

No more pellits in the driveway. Thats all I can say. No apparent problems anywhere else in the garden......yet

Molly
:^)))

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Sounds like you may have hungry rabbits!!. Just put them out a pile of the pellets all their own, and maybe they will leave the plants alone. If DH were there he would be frying rabbit for you in no time!!

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

Molly, I think that's why I'm not going to use pellets. I think the gophers would think they had died and gone to heaven. Which I wish they would....LOL

The exercises went good today and he did the reevaluation. I have made good progess, but they have scheduled me for another four weeks at 3 X a week. So no going to Indiana for the thyroid surgery. DD says it will be OK, but I feel terrible about it.

Speaking of DD, she didn't call today. :( So I am guessing she either didn't have pain, or didn't pass the stone or both. She didn't have time today (right...) to go to the doctor, so she 'said' she will try for Thursday. We'll see.....

Last years hydrangeas were the most beautiful I had ever had, but they have never done that before, and I figure the buds are frozen now and they won't bloom much if at all this year. Just hoping the azaleas survive the whole thing. I have never had the azaleas not bloom, but they look absolutely brown and awful. Have never been brown before. I should have tried to water them, but because of this surgery I didn't get things like that done. Oh well, I have had them for 15 years, it would be very sad to lose them now.

Be back in a sec with the daily for tomorrow.

Night all,
Susan
