Lauri and I are friends from another garden site,we send each other all kinds of goodies and I love her as a daughter..Only problem I have with her is she bakes *Fruit Cakes* and I'm always afraid she's gonna send me one..Can you tell I don't like fruit cake??
I will be checking in every now and then to just say HI...;o)))

Loretta, Welcome!!! I could be everybodies mother, even a grandmother to some. I leave alone too since I lost my husband almost a year and one half ago. I also have a pet, a golden retriever, his name is Samson, he is wonderful company.

Starkville, MS

Alright folks!! I need some TLC here! I went out at noon to do the Hoodie Hoo holler and dance - thought I was going to drown - so I headed back into the house. Three cats, two dogs and one DH told me I was going to flood the house if I came inside. There I stood, dripping water and ice - yes ice - freezing after nearly drowning, wanting a cup of something, anything, hot, to warm me up and all I got was a small towel to stem the river I had running off of me. I need SPRING and SUN!!!!

Hours later I am warm and dry and fed, and in a much better mood ( still need some sunshine) and plotting my revenge on the mob that held me at bay. I'll think up something good for them. Remember, revenge is sweetest when its cold!

I have read all the news. I hope those with ills get better, and those without ills stay that way!

I, like Mary, enjoy the night sky and the silence. I hope I am never without it again. I do not, however, have the beauty of the Northern Lights. That is something that has been a life time wish. I would love to see / experience that at least once in my life.

Apple cinnanom muffins on the counter for those with that little empty spot.

Hi everyone! Promised I would be off here by 8:30 so I have to type quickly!! Thanks for the welcomes! Love the outdoors part Mary! Welcome to Laurie too!

Husb got out of svc (92) and moved back to his hometown of Ft Ed. Oh sure, he talked about going to Mass and put in for a job that his CO got him, but he flaked out. Never moved out of his Mommas! I stayed there 15 months, moved out w/o him.

But, girls and I are in our very own home, for first time in our lives!! Now can garden... oops, gotta run. Big Wave!! ~ Tomorrow - Suzi :)

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

Got up late, but did my exercises, still so coooold.

Decided to clean up all the messes the cats have made over the time since I had my surgery. That took awhile. LOL Got down in the floor to do some of it, and then couldn't hardly get out of the floor. That WAS a challenge. But I guess I made it or I wouldn't be on here now. ha ha

Got some vacuuming done too. Went off to myPT and while I was doing my pulley exercises, I asked the therapist what the other therapist meant when he asked if I was doing the pulley exercises at home. Well, you can buy an over the door pulley thingey that we went and got after the session and now I can do that at home. Whooo hoooo, those are kind of fun even. LOL

I made a banana/cool whip pie that I used to make every week but haven't in however many weeks. Didn't get it done until almost 6 so we won't have it until tomorrow evening. It needs to refrigerate for a bit.

Now I will go watch some olympics and the Oklahoma basketball game at 8pm.

How about me posting before 11 oclock. ?????

We are also out in the country and I love the sky and the silence. It is wonderful, I wouldn't move back to town for anything.

That is so awful about the lung treatment. I was hoping they wouldn't do that. I hope they gave her a bunch of meds before hand. sheesh and she was doing better too. Couldn't they leave well enough alone? Sorry, I am so negative about it.

Haven't even talked to DD today, so I imagine she tried to go to school. As of yesterday, nothing had passed, but she didn't have pain either, so she is wondering if it could have dissolved. We will see after she moves around at school. Can't tell her anything, she takes after her mother. LOL

I will be back later after everyone else has gone to bed. ROFLOL

Wow! Three new people in one day. Welcome all.

I just wanted to pass on, at least in some format, an e-mail I got from a friend. It's entitled "Are you tired?" I thought with all the animal lovers on this list that you'd get a kick out of the pics. (Well, some of the pics are fur babies. Others are real babies.) I've put them all together in a sort of composite. Enjoy.

I do not know the Hoodie Hoo
Not sure what it is you do.
Stamp your feet and yell real loud
All alone or in a crowd?

What fate befalls to those who pass?
Three more months to freeze your ***?
Extra weeds in garden beds?
Getting mud in your new Keds?

Oh please help me, tell me true,
how to do the hoodie hoo,
Lest my fate be cast in stone,
Which will cause a mournful moan.

There, I've punished you enough, but what in Sam Hill is a hoodie hoo? Never heard of it.

It's dark enough out here in the sticks to see the stars and the autumn moon looks like you could reach up and touch it. Still too many driveway lights to suit me.

Yeah, Sarv, get a new computer. Maria said so. I said so. Does anybody else think she should. Let's have a show of hands. SEE! Everybody wants you to get a new one. Maybe your MIL would like to ask someone else to take her for her lab work, or she could call a cab? She shouldn't use you for a gripe session about your DH, tell her to take it up with him. She gives me a headache and I don't even know her. No wonder you ended up with a migraine.

Darius, do you feel better? You've been working so hard, maybe it's catching up with you. I hope you took the day off and rested.

GG 'fess up? Did you go to a garden shop? I haven't been to Eau Claire in years and years (like maybe fifty?) I'll bet it has changed a lot. My old high school town hasn't changed hardly at all. New motel and post office is about it.

Welcome Loretta, Briar Rose and Laurie, this is the right place for you if you are a bubble off of level, and willing to share your thoughts, not to mention cyber treats. And Laurie, 45 is not OLD, my DS will be 50 next month, and I'm not old. I'm counting my birthdays backwards now because I've run out of my own fingers and toes, plus my DH's, my DD's and half of my DS's.

Dmcd. power on!! We haven't lost power since we built out here, and have yet to use that huge expensive generator that we bought, just in case we did. Kind of like taking an umbrella to forestall rain. No, Sammi does not get a new tissue box. He's found other amusements, like opening the doors of the hutch, walking behind the computer, helping me with the keyboarding, and such. When he wants some attention, he'll sit by my feet and make pitiful little squeaks until I pick him up. Not too spoiled.

McCool post that link showing your beautiful candles for our new visitors/lurkers/friends. They will be amazed at your imaginative creations!

Waving hello at the rest of the gang. Sammi just jumped up here and I better get off before he makes this whole thing go POOOOF!

Almost done with the drapes. Not doing that again soon. Sewing gives me a backache. To say nothing of all the ups and downs on the step stool.

Nite Gracie....

LOL, I just notice that the little cat puppet my DIL got me for my birthday is still hanging off the fire place, Hope you didn't think I did something to Sammi!

Put your hands down everyone - I AM getting a new computer !!! My brother is meeting me and he will help me (he knows much more than I do) He told me not to get an expensive one as I only use it for email and some pic editing. Hmmm, don't know about that.. what do you think??? Also found out some bad news.....I can't get dsl - drat.....but my carrier does offer nitro - which they tout as 3 to 6 times faster than dial up.

I tried to send a pic to myself - after 20 min I gave up - it wouldn't go thru. Then tried the test forum - with the same results.

Seems like I run into a wall no matter which way I turn. AND I feel another migraine coming.....

I went outside and hollared hootie hoo - why? because notmartha told me to!!

give me an apple muffin - food always makes me feel better...

computer shopping Thurs afternoon - gonna hit the couch now....with the ice bag.....

Meezers, I'm soooo glad you asked. I don't know what it is either. LOL

Good for you, sarv. I mean about the new computer. Not the migraine. LOL Hope you feel better in the a.m.

Welcome again to our new members. Will be back after I get my jammies on.

Ann, I just loved those "tired" pictures. All are so so cute.
Good, Sarv, am glad that you are getting a new computer. New computers are great. But that is way too bad about dsl tho. I had dial-up and switched to broadband (high speed) 2 years ago and never will go back. I love it!
Sheila, those curtains look great! Geez, nice job, wished I could do that. I just have blinds on my windows. The double celled ones and they do keep the heat in tho.
Well, today was a work day for me. I am trading today for Thurs. I am heading up to see my folks, 6 hrs away, so needed to have a day for that besides the vacation time I have to take.
It finally warmed up to 35 degrees here during the day. My poor plants in their pots in my baby plastic greenhouse were frozen yesterday, I noticed. Not real frozen but still frozen a bit. Have no other place to put them so it better thaw out real soon here.
Well, need to get more bathrooms cleaned around here so have a good nite all.

Hi All,

Welcome Laurie and Loretta,,,good to see you again Suzi.

Get ready, it's a long post tonight,,,,

Well, had an extremely rough day shopping!!! Had to take a couple extra Xanex,,,,,,I don't even know here to start,,,I guess at the begining would be good huh???? LOL First of all I didn't even want to go,,the only reason I went was that they wanted to go to Eau Claire and the roads have changed so much,,I knew they would get lost (they didn't sign the new roads very well,,,,grrrr)
Left home and stopped at this cute new little store about 20 miles away. Told Gran, Mom and Judy it was a little expensive but they had some really cute things. They all 3 walked around there like bumps on a log. Mom and Judy LOVE candles and didn't even buy one,,,I was really surprised.

Next stop Kohl's,,,I Thought my Mom would give me a break and shop with Gran,,,,but NO,,,she was shopping for herself,,,Gran was unbelievably obstinant that she was not going to find anything. I looked at about 5 racks crammed with Clearance stuff and everything I showed her wasn't right,,,she said she thought I was getting mad at her,,,I just said, not mad,,,,I'm just done! She thinks if she pulls one item off the rack that's a size 1X,,,the whole rack is a size 1X,,,,grrrrrrrr

Next stop lunch,,thought about having a Bloody Mary,,,but had taken an extra Xanex so didn't figure that to be a good idea. Lunch was very nice. And semi-relaxing.

Next stop JC Penney where Judy spied a sign right away for a baby sale (she had her first Granddaughter almost a year ago),,,so, Judy, Mom and me went to the baby sale. Gran took off on her own (I Hate when she does that,,,can Never find her),,,after we found her in the shoe section she was trying on winter boots while spitting fire,,,she couldn't find any that fit right,,,the one pair that fit the best I looked at them and told her the sole was too slippery. Found her a pair in her size, she tried them and they looked very nice,,,*she doesn't want them that high* told her they rolled down,,,*well, how am I supposed to get my pant leg over the boot*,,,told her just pull it down. I walked off on my own and called my Aunt (she lives up here and Knows how Gran gets),,,asked her if I could slap Gran now or wait until she was with me to help???? She felt bad,,,just told her I needed to let off some steam. So, Gran left there in a complete snit. Outside she made a comment about them shopping for baby clothes,,,,Oy Vey!!!! I guess it should all be about her?????

Went to the Factory Card Outlet and I Hope she got all the cards she needs cause it's gonna be a looooong time before she goes with me again.

Next stop, a Closeout store that I have been wanting to stop at. They had a little of everything. Gran walked around there like a bump on a log,,,,* I already have enough junk,,,why would I want more?

Next stop,,,,Shoko,,,by this time I figured my Mom wasn't going to help Gran find anything so I vowed that she would NOT walk out of that store without buying something. She did agree to 3 blazers/jackets.

Next stop Wal-Mart,,,,Mom & Judy wanted to go home,,,I said I needed a couple things from Wal Mart and we were stopping! I took Gran back to the shoe section and she found a pair of winter shoe-boots. they only come up to the ankle,,but they had a nice rubber sole with a good grip on the bottom.

I can't tell you how glad I was to get home and away from all of them. I just told my Aunt it's getting harder to take Gran with. Add 2 more that are worse than her and I was an absolute crazy person by the time I got home!!!!!!

My Aunt is retiring at the end of the week,,,so she will be able to help with taking Gra shopping during the day so I won't have to spend my whole day off on Mon. taking her shopping.

Don't get me wrong, I Love Gran and Mom with all my heart,,,but today I guess my heart wasn't very big,,,,LOL

Well, enough whining about my PITA shopping trip.

Read all the posts but right now I don't have the energy to comment on all. So, I will say I hope everyone has a good nights sleep.

Sarv, anything is faster than cable dial up, that is what I have it is as slow as molasses , just get a good computer with a name that is well known

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

GG, What a PITA the shopping day seems. Glad you don't have to do it often.

Goodnite, Gracie!

Central, WI(Zone 4a)

darius,
Yes it was,,,and yes, I'm glad I don't,,,although I do take Gran with me whenever I go to a Dr. appointment in Marshfield so she can get out of the house and get her shopping done. I thought that was bad,,,today was worse.

Well, off to bed,
Nighty Night All.

Good night all. I'll have to catch up on the later postings tomorrow. Skimmed them tonight, but don't have time to write a response.

Hope you all sleep well and everyone wakes feeling well tomorrow.

Well, I am back, and want to welcome all the newbies. The only requirement here is to be "half a bubble out of plumb", love to chat, and drink coffee, and eat the cyber snacks. You can talk about anything you like. We have an official 2x4 that is used on obstinate members of your household. Just holler for it, when the situation warrants. We all love our pets, so if you have one, you must post a pic now and then to let others know how sweet they are. That will exclude all members who have dial up, and takes forever to post a pic. (me included). If you can't post a pic, then you need to describe the furbies in detail, and let us know about their antics.

Well, you all have sure been chatty today. I thought I was doing good to post so early, but since then, you have talked a day and half worth!! LOL (Elaine that is laughing out loud). I missed the noon Hoodie Hoo, so I hope you all shouted loud enough for me. If it helps I was shouting ***#(%*%&&^(#))# later, about 1:00. Thought I was through with all the paper work/taxes, then found another stack that needed going through. Well, I am in a better mood now, I have cleared all the paper off the desk, and the various folders where I had stashed some. I have refrained from patting myself on the back, as I am sure that I would have done some physical damage!!

DH didn't go to the hospital today, just rested and got ready for tomorrow. DMIL did have the antibiotic injected into the lungs today, and amazingly the procedure went well. They are going to watch her for the next day or so, and then are talking about sending her home again. I have cooked some Northern beans tonight, and am going to make some cornbread to send to the hospital for her tomorrow. She likes good ole country cookin, and said the other day, if she never sees another carrot it will be too soon. Evidently they serve carrots often.

There is no way that I am going to post personal responses to everyone. I just hope that all who have felt lousy feel better tomorrow, and those who are enduring the cold, will find a renewed fortitude and endure it another day. To those who had shopping woes, my sympathy is with you. Personally, I like to shop by myself, then I can come home whenever I get ready!! To those who have battled the laundry monster today, tomorrow will be better. Just starting on enlarging the pile for next week.

So I am off to see what kinds of e-mail I have waiting for me, and then off to bed for a very restful peaceful night. That's if Mr. B does not hear anything that he thinks is interesting tonight, and Miss B, doesn't decide that she needs to go out hunting. I sometimes feel like the doorman at an expensive hotel, letting these fur kids in and out.

Night all.

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

Here is tomorrow's daily for your posting convenience.....LOL

http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/577767/

DD has not had pain for 3 days, but also said she hasn't found anything in the 'strainer', but hey...NO PAIN.

Kelly, that's too bad about the PITA shopping trip. I will be glad when I can drive again and go to WalMart BY MYSELF. Not that DH is bad or anything, he just wants to get what we need and go and I like to wander around and look. We are spending less though, so I guess it's a good thing. LOL

Have a great night everybody,
Susan
