Trade Tracker Question

Winterville, GA(Zone 8a)

Dave, (or anyone who knows the answer)
In using the trade tracker, how do I find a person's email address to put in the email field? I went to the address exchange and the email address isn't listed. I know I can send D-mails, but it doesn't tell me the person's email address either. What am I missing? Thanks for your help.

Frausnow,

The email address section is an optional only. Your email address is not shown anywhere on this site unless you choose to make it public.

Hmmm, so then using the trade tracker to send people messages is useless. So what's the point of using the trade tracker if you can't let people know you've sent or received trades? Seems like an inconvenience to back out, manuever to the d-mail and send a message that way. I guess I just don't understand having the automated emails in the trade tracker program. Could the trade tracker somehow be connected to the dmail?

JoAnn,

A lot of times when I am talking with a trader before I work out the deal I send them my email addy and they send me theirs. But then I dont use the tracker, I just use the Yahoo system and it sends them and me an email at the right time. Works the best for me -

JoAnn,

On the contrary, using the trade tracker for messages is a very good thing. You can choose, if you have the private email, to put it in the space provided, then click on that address and it will open a private E-mail window for you. If you choose to D-mail, go to the far right of the page to the "actions" column. If you click on "mail" Dave has formulated a letter which you can amend as you like.

So the trade tracker is tied into the "D-mail" system.

Wow Molly I did not even know that and I have tried to use the system several times.. ... .. might be worth trying again.

Thanks Molly, I have been aware of that feature. Wouldn't it be cool though if I could just fill in your DG name and automatically have the trade tracker email be send to you without having to go through dmail at all?

Anyway, I'll just have to get use to an extra step of getting the trader's email address so I can effectively use the trade tracker because I absolutely love it. My feeble mind needs as many organization tools as possible.

Another but different Trade Tracker Question: I just hate to bother Terry with these technical questions so I'm appealing to the masses here at DG.

At the top of "list all trades" page I see the categories Name, Email, Address and so on across the top. I want to sort them in a certain order that I would delineate ( i.e. first come, first served from my records.) So I've tried to fool the Name category by typing
A Joe Blow
B Betty Boop
C Tom Hanks LOL
AJoeBlow
BBetty etc

You get the idea. That didn't work. Names came up helter skelter with numbers and in otherwise no apparent order (I had also tried numbers i.e.)
1 Joe Blow
2 Betty Boop
3 Tom-you-are-such-a-nice-guy Hanks
and tried no spaces as well.
1Joe
2Betty etc

Is there a way to name/number people so the trade list will print out in the order I want? Or another mechanism to prepare the list in the order I want? I can always print trades individually but hoped to save paper : )
Thanks!
