Coffee and...For, Thurs. Feb. 9, 2006
Good Morning everyone
Yes, Casey, That is exactly what a schnitzel is, a veal cutlet punded very thin, salted and peppered, dipped in flofried a few minutes on each side,ur, in beaten egg and then bread crumbs, Most of the time I use chicken instead sometimes even pork, it is good any meat one prefers but the veal is rue viennese.
Last night I had my children here for Dinner , I made smoked salmon in penne, onion, mushroom, parsley in light cream, topped with buttered bread crumbs and baked for 20 minutes, I like to make up recipes, that was one of it, it was yum
Still half asleep, wish I could sleeo longer in the morning
Sleesh, did I have a wild night. I took an allegra yesterday noon (24 hr kind) and honest to pete I was awake all night long!! Tossed and turned, turned the tv on, turned the radio on, then just laid there and planned my gardens. I don't feel tired this morning, but I'm sure it will hit me this afternoon. I just can't take those pills anymore.
oz - is that a fish story??? That was some whopper! I remember as a kid we had guppies and I loved finding the babies hiding in the water plants. My job was to clean the bowl every Sat morning. I carefully scoured out the sink so I could put the fish in there while I cleaned their bowl. LOL I had dead fish - the comet cleanser is deadly!! Cried many a tear that day....
Mary - gorgeous scenery out your way - fresh crisp air- heavenly! Do you carry a cell phone with you when you are out there by yourself? With my luck, I'd tumble off the horse and it would gallop back home leaving me high and dry...
Can't wait for the Olympics to start - I just love watching all of the events.
Today is my first day at the huff/puff without my workout partner - she is on vacation for 3 wks. Sure don't want to go without her...whaaa
Well, time to peruse some of the other forums!!
Good Morning All,
Was very tired again last night. Slept hard, one of those where when you wake up you can't get your eye-hand coordination down. t got below freezing again last night.
Darius brought some fancy thermometers with her when she came. In S Florida, temps didn't fluctuate that much so I never had one of those.
I discovered I can find the outside air temps (aside from going out and standing out there). I look at the birdbath, which I filled with water yesterday. If it isn't frozen, it's cold, if it's frozen, it is darned cold.
I can't quite remember what I may have said most recently about my neighbors with the horses, but just wanted you to know, other than the 2 times the woman came and screamed at me, I haven't heard a peep out of her. That was maybe 3-4 weeks ago.
I think I may be a little keyed up with my intentions of putting up a fence and the anticipation of the unknown response to that. Although I bought all the wire for the larger part of the fencing project and it's laying in the yard, that part won't be for a while. The fence we are doing this week is the smaller yard are in the back off the back of the house for the dogs.
The rolled fence wire was very cheap, on sale so I bought enough to to the whole yard. It's the fence posts that run the tab up so quickly. So I'm taking one step at a time.
Mary, the pond is sitting near the arbor, which is one of the sitting areas. I'll have pine needle pathways leading to the pond from the arbor and from the gate to the back yard. I'm not sure how much shade the existing older trees will provide to the pond. Being winter, the sun is in a totally different position tha summer. In all my plantings, I keep looking up in the sky and wonder, will there be shade here? At what time of day? As with every new yard I plant in, if I get it wrong and there's too much sun for a plant, I'll move it later.
We also have the barbecue area with sitting, a circle of live oaks we will use for sitting in later summer afternoons that is shaded. No doubt I may come up with some more later.
Yesterday Jeremy and I went to town, picked up the replacement garden cart and on the way, found the 4:00 Nursery was open for business. The pond lady had recommended this. There were some wonderful plants there. I bought a couple Red Maples, shade ferns to plant along the driveway, some gingers because I felt greedy, some perennials that are in bloom already and some monkey grass.
I picked some pots of plants that were busting out of their pots. That way I could divide them and make more plants. Actually, I asked Darius to divide them and she patiently sat down and made a big pile. Jeremy assembled the garden cart and we leaded them in and pulled it down the drive as we worked. We were able to get the driveway lined with these plants on both sides, about halfway done.
Today Darius and I will plant the newest broccoli and some seeds. Then Jeremy and I will be setting the fence posts waiting for brother to come up this weekend to help with the finishing.
Now.......I need to stay home and quit buying plants. I know I have lots of space to put them and nothing I bought will go to waste, but the bill on these can get quite high when you add them all up.
Love that garden cart, the new one works perfectly. Does anyone here know where I would get a culvert pipe for my driveway? You know the one.......it goes under your drive by the road to keep water from standing on either side? I have been to the home improvement stores and farm and building supplies places and no one carries them. I KNOW someone must have them, there is one in every driveway.
Better feed the dogs.
Molly
:^)))
Hi all
Didn't sleep particularly good last night. I'm sitting here nursing a cuppa knowing it will hit me later this afternoon. I dreamed about tomatoes all night. I potted up 4 of my babies last night ... and you know how Mama's can be. I think I was actually worried about them. I guess that makes me a true gardener. :)
Molly, your place *really* sounds like something!
Maria, will you adopt me? You always have such delicious meals! LOL LOL
Hi Sarv ... I'm waving at you. Wish we were closer. I'd go to the huff and puff with you. Can't get motivated to do anything like that on my own.
Okay, off to see the DH to work.
... Elaine
SARV no fish story. Most years I catch a few over 20. That one was 48lbs. The thing that sounds like a fish story part might be that I do not use bait. I catch them all on fishing spoons. They have a perchant for falling for that under certain conditions that have to do with white bass feeding. I will not bother you ladies with a long explanation of it. One rainy evening about dark a couple years ago I caught one 28 lbs and took it to a friend that lived very close to where I was fishing. I told him hurry up and clean it because I am bringing in another one. I was kidding and we laughed. I went back to the spot and caught one 32. Brought that to him and went back and caught another 21. Now that might sound like a big big fish story but it happened. I have a funny story about a fishing preacher that really happened that i will tell you all sometime. It is about unbelievable also.
Molly assumoing you want the 10 to 12 inch black vinal pipe. I seen them at Lowes. but if you local lowes does not carry them (being fla they should) then call a pluming supply.
Molly, I just looked on Switchboard. Central Bldrs Supply in Gvl carries culverts.
OZ and Darius, thanks. That will be for my next trip to town. Now that we have the garden cart, we can haul the concrete chunks down to the end of the driveway easier to get that job done.
The driveway by the road is starting to get too low. The bumper on the Mustang rubs the ground by now so we'll need to take care of that real soon or I won't be able to take the "Pony" out for a drive.
Molly
:^)))
&%*$&&&$^!!!! I just did the same thing!! Twenty minutes down the drain! Now I have to strain my pathetic aging brain to try to remember what I said the first time.
Sarv and Elaine, I think I got all your sleep last night, went to bed, watched Leno for a bit, set the sleep timer for 10 minutes and don't remember a thing he said after that! Woke up at 6:30 with a heat wave that drove me to the garage to cool off, and I can attest it is very cold here too!! A bad night like that leaves your feeling icky all day and a nap usually screws up the next night' sleep, too.
Sarv, I d go with you to the huff andpuff but I don't think I'd last too long. Years back, my DD and two friends and I used to go together. One evening our DH's were ragging us about how we just went and danced around and it wasn't "real" exercise. So, the following week we took them as guests. Halfway through the session, they were gasping for air, sweating buckets, and we were having a good laugh at their expense. Our place always played Disco music so you know how long ago that was!! Donna Summer nearly killed them!!
Just started reading Michael Connelly's "The Closers". Starting out well, so I'm sure I'll enjoy it. The rest of the day, hmmmm, breakfast, shopping, post office, maybe a side trip to the Goodwill to drop off a bag of items, then put my feet up and read.
Maria, the salmon dish and the schnitzel had my mouth watering, they sounded so good. Have you scheduled a date for Samson at the vet? Might want to think about it before spring rolls around and the neighborhood girls go into season, and he decides he need to visit them. We don't want to see you flying through the air at the end of his leash as he pursues his romantic interests.
Moly your neighbor sounds like she starts out with a chip on her shoulder and just wait for an opportunity to make herself obnoxious. Does she think she has free range of all the property around her? I'm sure you'll get a reaction to the fence, but seeing her attitude is all the more reason to have one. No wonder you were tired, all the planting and digging you've done. With spring around the corner (for you, not us) you'll be surrounded by greenery in no time. Did you even imagine a year ago that this would happen? Talk about making lemonade out of lemons!! Sweet, isn't it?
Now, what else was going on? Think I'm going to send this and go back to yesterday's thread, because if I try anything else, this post will vanish like the earlier one. Be right back.
Molly, here in Kentucky the county road department installs the culverts. I think that you have to pay for the materials, but they do the work. Check it out..
To everybody else, I am waving frantically, to all.
Had a long post go pfff last night. I am on my way to the grocery and to run errands, so I will catch up about noon. Have a good productive day.
There, I think I am caught up.
Mary, the scenery is just beautiful, wide open spaces and endless sky. I know how much you missed riding when the weather was bad, so yesterday must have been a real joy. I never saw real mountains up close until we lived in Colorado in the 60s. Made our kettle morains from the glaciers look like little sandbox piles. Breathtaking views. We drove up to Pike's Peak occasionally, what a scary ride! How's Amandapanda doing? Does she go outside? Ours always want to, but they are not allowed.
Carat, what are you training for? I thought you were already trained? What a miserable commute, bet you're glad it's over. I try not to go anywhere during commuting hours since I retired, but it seems it's longer and longer every day.
Ann, did you find a computer that you wanted? I usually let DH make all the decisions on the technical end of it because he is much more knowledgable than me. When I took it in for my hard drive crash last month, I did opt for a lot more storage though, I put so many pictures on, and keep a lot of other info it seemed like a good idea.
I ran into that no reply box problem several times yesterday. Haven't browsed around enough today to know if it's been fixed or not.
Hello to all, even if I haven't mentioned you I've read all the posts but if I'm going to goof off all day, I better get started!! Sunshine on Sammi, while he dozes from his morning carousing. Doesn't he look sweet and harmless?
Bonnie.... we are on a dirt road full of potholes that appears not maintained. I doubt the county would install culverts. It has taken me 4 weeks to get them to install a street sign at the corner so deliveries (and 911) can find us.
This is just too weird. Now it posted.

Really weird. Ever since Dave opened the door to nonmembers.........

Good morning, everybody!! Today is a great day here. The kids only have a half day today so no kindergarten and Trinity got to stay home with me and I don't have work today, so I get to talk to everyone while you are still up and on the computer. Also the allergies have finally cleared up all the way. I don't know what the reaction was to, so I'm afraid it will happen again. I've got very sensitive skin, so I've got to be careful in using anything new or I run into problems. This one was pretty bad, but I've had worse. I was covered in big itchy welts all over me. Sometimes I'll get reactions where my lips swell, eyes swell shut, or throat closes up and I have to go to the ER and get a shot, so it could have been much worse. I'm happy to be all better.
I have homemade chocolate chip cookies on the counter if anybody wants some!!
Meezer-Your kitty is so adorable. I love Siamese cats, but really want a Himalayan. DH objects to me spending the money to buy one, though, when there are so many strays around we can just adopt.
Oz-I'm so jealous of that fish!! I've never caught anything even close to that size. I don't get to go very often, but I bet the biggest I've ever caught was only about 10 pounds and I was thrilled with that. Next time you go catch a big one for me!!
Mary-Your pics are great. That area of the country is so beautiful, nothing like Indiana. All we have are lots of cornfields as far as the eye can see. Oh, and soybeans too.
Molly-Good work on the pond. I know you have to love the sounds it gives you. We put one in a few years ago, and there's nothing better than sittiing in the shade and listening to the water flowing during the hot summer. It seems to cool you off just to listen.
Maria-The salmon sounds delicious!! Between your salmon and Oz's catfish, I'm going to have to make plans for Red Lobster for dinner!!
Sarv and 101-Sorry you didn't get better sleep last night. That always makes the day seem worse. Do what I did, take some benadryl and you'll sleep like a baby! : )
Anybody I missed, sorry, and I'll catch you later.
Ladies I was talking to my daughter about this and she thinks he needs a new server. Myself I do not know except it will get on the nerves enough in time.
OZ
I was just teasing you last night. I am a big tease. Please think nothing of my jokes. We went camping a few years back. I had the best time ever. I love to fish for catfish. Well, at the camp ground they had one of those stocked fishing ponds. Now I know that's not *reall* fishing but it was still lots of fun. My DH said oh oh oh you have a fish. Pull him in. So I reeled that sucker in. Well, much to my surprise and everyone elses ... I had lasooed (I can't spell) that fish! Yep, instead of the hook going in his mouth ... the line was wrapped around and around him and I brought him in that way. Pretty good for a blind girl, huh? :) hehehe
... Elaine
OZ, he just got a new server................
I do not think period 101 ask my wife. I did not even remember what you said anyway. I poke fun at myself all the time.
I know that is what they said Molly.

back from the huff/puff - not as much fun without my partner, but everyone made big fuss that I showed up!! LOL
Came home to a huge tree cutting truck smack dab in the middle of the driveway - a bunch of men cutting down trees that are in the power lines (they say....) If I could post a pic I would, you just wouldn't believe how they butchered our trees. They are four huge maples- grand and glorious - they completely scalped one side - looks totally stupid... Just wait until DH gets home- he will fly into a rage. Everytime they do this we argue with them and they always do just what they want. I cannot even watch what they do.
Oz - I love fishing....we go several times a year - just for perch, bluegills, or crappy. I could spend hours out in the boat - my little bit of heaven. DH used to go for salmon, but they have been on the decline the past several years. Too bad, because they are wonderful!!
Molly the county put in our culvert - we wanted it twice as long as they wanted to put in, we had to compromise in the end. Ours are huge cement things- we could never have transported them. Sounds like you are breaking the bank with all your plant purchases...how fun!!
Time for some chow....
Sarv- I hate it when the power company does that!! They did that to my maple last year, but wouldn't touch the old half dead pine trees that grow in a straight line directly under the power lines all down the edge of the property. We got them to take care of one because the line had rubbed it so much that a big notch was in the tree, but they just cut it off right below the power line. Of course, the cable line was still below it, so we still can't drop it ourselves without taking out everybody's cable in the neighborhood. I wonder if we did that if the cable company would take out the rest of them for us?? LOL
Hi Everyone! Having a tough morning at work today. Computer problems again! Have been after FedEx for months to fix a problem with their system, no ANOTHER problem has popped up. This is really slowing me down and I hate to get behind. Oh well, that's my rant for today.
I feel for those that didn't get a good nights sleep last night. That can really make you feel crummy the whole day.
Mary - Your pictures were just gorgeous. You are so lucky to have all that open space to ride on.
Sarv - Good for you going to the huff and puff by yourself. I hate when the power company butchers the trees. They look so stupid.
M5 - Great pic of Sammy!
FC - Do you have one of those Epi-pens(sp)? Sounds like you have really really severe allergies. Hope you are feeling better now.
Hope everyone has a good afternoon!
No, I don't use an epi-pen. Normally I keep allergy pills close at hand, though. That holds off anything severe long enough for me to get to ER if necessary, but I take enough precautions that my attacks are far enough apart that the pen would expire before it got used in most cases. Unfortunately, my daughter inherited my skin sensitivities, but hers seems to be only with direct contact. If she eats anything tomato based she has to be very careful to wash her face immediately afterwards or she will get welts where she got it on her skin. (She's still a messy eater, only 5) Eating it doesn't affect her, only what stays on her skin.
Morning everybody.
I have returned to my waterbed and my 6 kitty bed partners. So much better, although when I went to bed the first time, Muffin gave me a withering look since I had tomove her from her comfy snuggle in the bed spot. Poor little Muff. Why would mom want to come back to her own bed.
It had been totally taken over by the six of them. They thought that was a good deal. LOL
Now they are all out on theedges and not looking very pleased. Furrbee thought he should come lay on my right arm, but I wouldn't let him do that either so he wasn't happy. Asia Anne decided that we should have a swat play fest, but I had to use my left arm and she wanted to use the right. But we playeda lot longer than I wanted to anyway.
However, I got a big wakeup call this morning, when one of them knocked the dry food bowl off the dresser and right into the water fountain and all over the floor. I almost sat straight up in bed, but realized I couldn't do that. Sheesh, I don't know why they do that.
I am going to finally get a hair cut today before my physical therapy session. You should see it, it is so long and the bangs are in my eyes. Hope she cuts it the way I want it this time. She usually does what she wants and I either like itor not.
We are taking Mercky to the vet tomorrow. She has some kind of rash on her forehead and it itches apparently and she scratches it until it bleeds. Then I looked in her mouth and her gums are really inflamed around her canines so I want them to check that too. They may just need to do a dental, I hope they don't have to remove anyteeth. She doesn't act sick, but she is drooling like a faucet. ick
The county came out a very years ago and used a vertical brush hog on the trees out on the road, I was sooooooo mad, I went out and complained and even called the county commissioner. They haven't done it since. The power company needs to come out and do a few trees, but I hate how they do it too. I don't understand why they have to just butcher things like that.
Well, almost lunch time. Not hungry, but better figure out something we have to leave in a couple of hours.
Susan
=^..^=
Oh My you've all been chatty today. And I didn't even manage to get the thread watched. Couldn't believe it when nothing showed up.
Sarv, good for you, going to huff and puff (is that the real name?) without your partner. The reward will be an extra piece of Maria's pecan pie. Elaine, wish you were closer, I'd encourage you to join me at aquafit.
Me, I went to aquafit and then went for that torture test known as a mammogram. Stopped by my church which was not far away and set up the handbell tables for this evening. Would have done some grocery shopping but decided I was too hungry. Will go back when I finish writing this and get some food. There's none in my house and I can't blame being too busy with the FC.
M5, we picked out a computer package. cheaper to buy a package with a printer we don't want then the bits separately. It's a HP set-up with A1324n processor: 524 Pentium 4 chip, 1.0GB memory, 300GB hard drive and the extra DVD-ROM. DH will buy it tonight at Best Buy unless he can get Staples to match the price. (We are not 100% sure that the packages at the two stores are identical, but the one at Best Buy is about $100 less). We DID buy a new printer last night - an HP1020 Laser. Will give the printer that comes with the package to DD and SIL. The printer was $100 less at Best Buy than at Staples, but Staples matched the price and I could use my Dividends card which is beneficial to the Food Cupboard.
To whoever it was who lost the post last night, you have my sympathies.
FC, glad you allergies are better. Be careful. Do you carry an epipen?
NO- you answered that later, but would it be helpful?
Sarv - so sorry about your maple trees.
When I visited Fairport (near Rochester) last week, I stayed down the street from where we used to live with a friend. The street had been lined with lovely large old trees at least 50 years old (probably older). Last summer, they replaced the sewers and buried all the services and took down every single tree. It looked so barren I wanted to cry. I know that they've planted new trees, but it will be a LONG time before the street looks remotely the same.
Susan, you should find another hair dresser if she won't cut your hair the way you want. I know, not an easy thing to do.
I've sort of caught up. Apologies to any I missed. Will try to get back later. Now, I think I'd better head out to the grocery store.
Ann
GM! luvvies!
I hope everyone is well and enjoying their day, no matter what they are doing.
I'm heading out shortly to mow the yards and get after a little weeding in my gardens. It's warm here today, 52* right now and supposed to top out at 56*F. Tomorrow the weather lady is calling for 59-60*F. Woohoo!!! So, I'm going to take advantage of the weather and go play a bit.
My sister is taking my Mum in for her Procrit injection this afternoon after she takes her for luncheon. I really am free for a few hours. My sister volunteered to take Mum and I'm not going to refuse the offer.
Speaking of Mum, we had a great supper at her house last evening. Hubby came home from work, changed out of his uniform and dropped me off at Mum's while he went to get his hair cut. He does that every fortnight so he remains within regs. How can he give a sailor a bad time about being scruffy if he doesn't keep himself ship shape?!! LOL Anyway, Mum had a good supper last evening. She ate better than usual and apparently I made the salsa fresca spicy enough for her. She smacked her lips a few times while she was eating the supper and kept spreading the salsa on the food as well as dipping 6 chips in the bowl. My hubby and I just winked at each other while Mum was chowing down. Poor soul, she's almost blind now and she doesn't see facial gestures much any more. It did my heart good to see her enjoy her food.
I called her this morning to make sure she had remembered to take her morning load of medications. She had and she gave me her loo report too! Oy vey, I just about died laughing at her description. She said I did her "a right good turn making that food spicy because I heard the tunders a comin' and I had me a fair blow!" She also said "There's only three things that are really important when you get to be her age. One is a good cuppa tea, a nice leg massage when I put the lotion on her legs and feet and a good blow out the pipes every morning." God love yer heart Mum, you always make me smile.
Remind me one day and I'll post another story about Mum's reaction to a talk show on TV. It's so darned funny I almost wet myself laughing.
Well, I'd best get outdoors and get my chores done. I don't want to waste this fabulous day and time off from care taking duties. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
With care, ~Babs~
ooooo Maria,
All of your dinners sound so scrumptious!!!!!!
sarv,
I will definitely be watching the Olympics,,,love em,,,,Oh, and get yer but to the Huff n Puff even without your partner,,,can' you imagine how sore you will get if you don't go and then start when she comes home?
Well, just wanted to check in quick,,,have a lady in the Salon with color on her hair,,,I'm so terrible,,,leave poor client in the Salon alone,,,lol
Will catch up later,
Kelly
Hi All - Yes you guys are a chatty bunch today.
Sarve- Love the expression 'huff and puff' love it. Or is that the real name.
9Kittymom - I see you cats are poor and abusied also. All six of mine are poor and abused also with all there 100 toys comfy beds and dailey play sessions.
Meezersfive - Your babie looks so adorable in the sun. What a great pic.
LOL huff/puff is really Contours - I just spend my time there huffing and puffing..
Babs - your mom sounds like such a dear!! Love her sayings! When my friends and I get together we talk about hot flashes and memory loss - each age has their favorite topics! Seems like only yesterday we were talking about 'boys' !!
VI - good to hear about your computer buy. Is it a laptop?? That is what I am after. But I have no use at all for another printer - I already have three!!
DH is outraged at the massacre of our trees.... he said they might as well chopped them all down. Now that is not true - when they leaf out they will look somewhat better - I hope! Oh well, life goes on...
Cat has been a pain today - in out, in out , in out.....If she didn't ruin the screens, I'd just leave her out there for awhile. I gave her some cat nip and she is out for now!!
The news just came on and there have been 9 drive by shootings a ways from here. Someone shooting out house windows and vehicle windows, so far no one has been injured. Last night it happened in a very upscale neighborhood. Good grief - the city is coming out here!!
Oh Sarv, my goodness ... such terrible news. So glad no one was hurt. Oh and don't you just *hate* it when they butcher the trees like that? The least they could do is give them a good pruning all way round while they're up there.
Hurray for you Ann. New computer! That's wonderful. I got one 3 years ago. Of course, that makes it a dinosaur now but won't be getting a new one until this one crashes like the old one did. LOL
Susan, so glad to hear you've made it back to your comfy bed. Just tell the kitties to be nice and move over and let Mommy back in ... please.
Kelly, LOL LOL at you leaving your customer. DG is sure addicting ain't it! :)
Babs, I really got tickled at your Mum. Oh she's a sweetie alright. To bad she can't join us in coffee. She could keep us in stitches. LOL
Hi to everyone else. Will just wave for now. Got to get back in the kitchen.
... Elaine
Hi
It's a balmy 12 degrees here, bright moon and crystal clear so it will be cold tonight. It snowed today, too, enough to cover everything.
Okay, here's my big DUH of the day. Besides getting a second pair of glasses, I always mean to hide a key outside on the porch. Just now I went out to get some firewood in my pjs, figuring I'll get all cozy and get on the puter...the door swung shut and locked!! Dh and kids are all out, and like I just said - It's 12 DEGREES!! I tried the porch door, and the sliding glass doors, but I had locked them when I was planning to take a shower ( hardly ever lock anything)...well the upshot is I broke in again. thank God we don't have very secure door locks. My poor doors are all chipped and gouged from me prying them open (a dandelion digger is the best spare key!!!)
I went up to the farm and got very cold but did get the ceilings out in a couple rooms (yuck, I hate ceilings).
molly~sounds like your place is growing by leaps and bounds. What fun!
sarv~ I always wonder what kind of maladjusted sociopaths trim trees for the power co. They cut down five antique apple trees that still bore fruit, and left two dead maples and a very sick ash that were leaning over the lines!! For me to worry about!! It is heartbreaking to see, and often very unnecessary!
Babs~lovethe Mum stories! wish we could watch the video!!LOL
MaryE~I can just imagine that ride. What beautiful open space!! There's no place like that on the east coast to ride. Love the shot with the horse's ears!
Ann~still on the run are you?! what energy. It is nice of you to do so much to help your FC replacement transition, too.
9kitty~hope mercky checks out okay, and that Pt went well and not too painful...I'm going to sneeze just thinking about all those kitties in the bed!
Fc~ what a worry that your child has those allergies too! Glad yours are under control. it sounds kind of scary.
suzieq~ hope your day improved after the frustrations of this morning
oz~oh my gosh i would HATE to catch a fish that big. He'd win for sure and i'd be the trophy in his living room!!
m5~That Sammi is INNOCENT I tell you!!
Casey~How was court?Sounds like stress to me!
Hi to Kelly Nancy ElaineJasmerr and whomever i'm missing...I plead CRS too!!

Dorothy... HIDE ANOTHER KEY!
LOL.
We got our replacement garden cart yesterday.
We loaded it up this morning with seeds, water (drinking), jackets, alfalfa etc. Took it up to the veggie garden and went to work.
I love this thing. It has a wire tray that sits on the edge of the sides. We can put things in it we don't want getting mixed up in the dirt and stuff. The axles are straight this time and the wheels all turn. When we finished work for the day, we loaded everything back in and pulled it down to the tool shed.
dmc, I did that last week when Darius was down in Miami. Jeremy and I were taking off for something. I walked out, locked the door and stood on the porch thinking #$%^&^**((() I left my keys in the house. Luckily it was warm that day, the windows were open. Jeremy pulled a screen out and climbed in to get the keys.
Hey! I have a spare key to the car hidden. Guess I should do one for the house too. 12 degrees, yikes!!!
Molly
:^)))
Just came back from having tea with Nancy. She really likes DG.
Sarv - That news about the shootings is scary. We are about 15-18 miles from Trenton. There is lots of gang activity in the city and more and more you hear of stuff happening farther away fromt he city.
Babs - Can't wait to hear the story about your Mum and the TV show
Kelly - LOL leaving your customer! I guess when you need a DG fix, ya just gotta have it. LOL
DMC - Hope it didn't take you too long to get back in. I bet the fire felt good when you finally got it going.
We're supposed to get snow this weekend. Depending on which forcast you listen to, could be as much as 10 inches. We've been pretty lucky so far this year.
Time to go put the jammies on. See ya in the morning!
suzieq~ you're right about the gang activity moving out of the city....my friend in bucks Co. Pa. had guy in a wheelchair dumped in the park behind her house, also crossed mob-dumped body in a park....lots of scary stuff spills over.
Molly,
If you want to know where your shade will be this summer watch the moon. The moon is always in the same place the sun will be in 6 months. Monday is a full moon, good time to watch the shadows progress over your yard all night, lol. Maybe you three can take turns getting up and making notes?
It's snowing like crazy here...so much for flurries with little accumulation!

Oh Maria, gosh I miss my moms cooking. I am going to have to make schnitzel this weekend. Have you ever heard of polichinkins (sp?). They are similar to crepes. If so do you have a recipe for the batter?? Mom use to put sugar and cinnamon inside and serve with homemade chicken soup. Yummm....
Sarv, Allegra gave me the hebeejebee's when I took them also. Gave it a week and then threw them all in the toilet.
Molly what is Monkey grass? I heard this a couple times before but never when its around. I always plant with the thought that it could be moved if the plant is not happy. I think that is what started my love of containers. Easier to move around for a bit of a change if need be.
Meezer, the district is changing the program that tracks all student records to a new one that supposedly is faster and can handle more files. This city is growing so fast that when a brand new school is built and opened it usually has 4 to 5 portables already in place and being used within the first month. I am being trained on the new program so when the turnover happens I can train the others in the office and hopefully we will have a smooth transition. In other words we are in for a LONG STRESSFUL summer of OH NO's.
Flowerchild, glad to see you are feeling better and I hope they figure out what the trigger was so you can avoid that in the future. Thanks for the CC cookie. I was craving those a few days back. Going to have to make a batch this weekend.
I agree with the butcher job on the trees that the power company does. They did the ones that run down one side of our property. The only good thing was that it was the week before the big ice freeze they had and many people had a lot of dead trees come down because of the weight of the ice.
Molly, we were told that if we wanted to move our drive and covert that it had to be done by the county and we would have to pay the county the same rate a new development would pay to have it done. They figured it would range between 500 and 1000 depending on the soil condition. We haven't decided 100% if we are going to leave the entrance alone and just curve the drive or move the drive completely. This is a decision we are waiting to make until we have driven down the lane enough time to know what we want.
9KM, my cats look at me as though I have attempted to kill them if I move them after they have snuggled in for their morning nap. Best of thoughts to Mercky at the vet tomorrow.
Babs, your mum sound like a true Scot to me. Bless her soul.
DMC a few years back I had this marvelous brain storm that I would sneak outside and start up my vehicle before I got dressed and it would be nice and toasty for my ride into work. Of course it was on one of the coldest days on record here with a balmy 18 degrees. After starting the car I decided to lock the car door and figured I would use my spare key to unlock it when I was ready to leave. I almost dropped to the ground when I realized I locked myself out of the house at the same time. It took me almost 15 minutes of pounding on the doors to wake up my oldest son. I called in sick of life from work that day and just crawled back in bed where it was safer.
Court today went very well. In Sept of 2003 a gentleman was in a tizzy at the Radio Shack around the corner. I had needed some coax cable and ended within 20 minutes being the victim of a battery. During the questioning by police he decide that he deserved respect by stating that from that point on the officer would address him as DR. I fell off the chair literally. So today he was finally found guilty of two counts of battery and three counts of disturbing the peace. He did not feel that someone in his position should have to explain his action to a lowly judge. Yes, his wording exactly. It has been quite the entertainment over the past 30 month with his comments. At the end of March we are going back to court but on the Civil matter. I am suing him in Civil court for a written apology, he is ordered to take 6 months of anger management classes and for reimbursement of my legal fees. Its a sealed envelope request for penace. So only my attorney, the judge and myself know I am not asking for personal money. When the jury makes their decision on guilt is when he is told of the request of penace. I cant wait to see his face. This man has called me every name he can think of from conartist to a money hungry lifeform.
I received a wonderful suprise package today from a friend. She sent me some ponytail palms, a couple EE's and two huge spider lily bulbs. Made the all the stress from court just melt away. I need to go read up on when to plant the EE's.
I better go feed PITA he is growling at the fish again.
Hope all have a wonderul night and tomorrow is a perfect day.
Casey
SARV that is the way fishing should be done quitely and restfully. I have went from that way to bass tournaments guiding and all the high pressure stuff. Now I am back to where I stared and could not be happier. Like I say My days of charging aound on the water with hi power bass boats and all the other stuff that goes with that ARE OVER.
I have a nice crappie bed built all around my dock. Makes it very convient since the dock is at the end of the yard. I can garden until I get tired then go down nad fish a bit if I feel like it.
