Here's the daily con't from

Hope everyone has a wonderful day,
Kelly
Coffee and... For, Feb. 2nd, 2006 Ground Hog Day
He sure will. Don't we all know that we are gonna have 6 more weeks of bad weather? But it is so nice to have this "little break" in the smack dab of winter.
Well I cruised the other forums, answered some dmail, and I think that I am ready to go to bed.
Forgot to add while ago, Maria, and 101, so glad that you got to talk today, and get to meet each other. That is always so nice to put voices to people, better with pictures, but hey I am computer illerate, and can't post pictures. Anybody want to come to Ky. for a few days and teach me? Free room and board, plenty of cat antics, and doggie kisses. May even give you a tour of the Bluegrass area, the horse farms and such.
Well, dream with the angels tonight.
Just slipping in to say "HI" to everyone...haven't been on the DG for nearly a week now. Hope all is going well for everyone. I'm fine, but didn't want anyone to send out the troops. LOL
Have a good one!
~julie~
Hi, Julie!!!!
Julie?? Julie, who??
LOL!
Julie, who's Julie- does she need to introducer herself again?? LOL welcome back - get your fanny in here more often! What's been happening??
dmc- my allergies have been the worse they have ever been this year. Dont know what is the matter, but I am miserable. Tried all kinds of meds, but none seems to get rid of them totally. Must be an age thing with me
Molly - count yourself lucky that DS will help you at all!! Mine seem to magically disappear whenever I need a hand. But when they need help, we're expected to be there pronto!! Nature of the beast I think! Darius is going to get in that pan cupboard and empty it for you!! I'm trying to decide how to get rid of ours. If DH sees them in the trash, he will take them out and I will find them somewhere in the barn. One year he built a bird feeder with two pans I threw out - he ground out all the teflon etc. Somewhere around here he has the first penny he earned!! LOL
M5- what is LNT? At first I was thinking Linens and More, but that doesn't make sense. Let me know!! I'm thinking Sam;s Club will be for me.
Back to the huff/puff this morning. Winter returning this weekend- ugh. I'm getting used to no snow on the ground and just throwing on a heavy sweater. Been watching the ground hog thing - winter will be here for 6 more weeks - they don't have to ask a groundhog for that info!!
Time for some grub.....I'm hungry...
M5- great minds think alike.....
Sarv,
I most certainly DO appreciate Jeremy's hard work. He is involved in something now that has never before kept his attention like working this property. He's also 20 years younger than me and I get tired too. That's why I ended up on my backside.
I really wasn't complaining. I was trying to make a funny at his expense.
Molly
:^)))
Good Morning every one
Have been up for an hour, I think the sun id coming up , looks kind of bright out there in the east. Threw balls for samson, my, he is such an athlete the way he catches them on the run not slowing his speed, such fun to watch, now he is all pupped out, lol
Sarv, do you men the LTD meezer is getting that is non-stick hard-anodized cookware?
Hu, Julie, what are you up too, tell us more.
Have a dentist appointment after lunch, he has a lot of work to do on my teeth, two crowns and some other re fillings.
hope to catch up with you later
Good morning everyone. I hope that you all will have a nice day , the sun is bright it is cold and I am afraid that Phil will see his shadow. I am glad that I did few things in the yard , at least if the weather gets nasty I am that much ahead. this morning I have to finish this chair that has been hanging on my head it seems like forever , but my hands dont' seem to want to cooperate and it takes me longer than I like. I tried med before but surgery is the only option . I wait and see I delay surgery as long as possible.
Sarv48 I have allergies also and the only thing that works with me is allegra, the rest give's me some sort of side effect. Allergies are miserable I can relate and I hope that you do feel better.
This morning the cat is not happy , I got up late and he didnt see my husband and gave him his daily greetings , so long as I sleep the cat and the dog sleep. The cat has a morning routine with my husband of rubbing his face against his and purring for about 10 minutes.
Today is the day that I will sit down and go thru all the seeds that I gathered last fall in order to see what I can exchange and what I need to purchase. Those catalogs sure look good make's you feel like getting a little bit of everything.... really...
I dont remember if I ever introduced myself , I guess another senior moment maybe I forgot. if so remind me if I did or not . Thank you in advance.
Linens and Things.....they have a good selection of cookware, although I can find some nice items at TJMaxx at good prices. I think these two pans will take care of my needs, as I have very old but usable Le Creuset, and several other stainless pans. Not that I like to cook all that much any more.
Elaine, do you keep all your pot handles turned in the same direction? That helps when you have long handles. When you have kids in the house, they suggest that you turn them all away from the front of the stove, and I still do that out of habit. But in your case, depending on whether you are right or left handed, you could put them all at, say, three on the clock, or nine, and then you would always know where they are. Just a suggestion.
No sun here, Phil would have a hard time seeing anything! And rain coming this afternoon. What a yucky winter. I'd rather have the snow and cold and some sunshine once in a while. Dcat, Kentucky souncs pretty good, where's my suitcase?
Running some errands this morning, maybe call DIL and see if she wants to do lunch at the pie place. Picked up a pair of pants at TJMaxx yesterday, DH just rolled his eyes when he looked at them, they are white with big pink flowers. I'll look like the Goodyear blimp, but they were marked down from $60 to $5, yes, $5, so, neener neener neener, if he doesn't like them he can close his eyes.
Molly, Jeremy is a champ for helping you so much! My DS has been very good about helping us with various tasks, he's pretty handy, he did a wood floor for me in our old farm house, but I have to ask, he won't just volunteer. Sometimes I get an eye roll at the request, but he always follows through. What kind of work does Jeremy do when he isn't helping you? DS has been at the same job for about 3 years now but before that he freelanced home remodeling and did music venues, handling lighting and sound for concerts ....which was mostly summer work. Now the company he works for installs sophisticated speaker systems for arenas, theatres, playhouses, etc. It involves some travel which my DIL doesn't much like, but that steady paycheck plus benefits is a lot better than freelancing.
I guess my sis is planning to come back this summer for a while, as her son and his family will be up at the lake for a month. She said she won't drive this time, but if she flies in to Milwaukee, I can drive up with her. But only if she gets here before they get up to the lake house. There are five of them and there will be a bed shortage if they are there already. We'll see what happens.
Sarv, take those pans with you next time you go shopping, and toss them in the dump if there is one. I've found things I've discarded that DH has rescued and is using for parts storage etc. Good thing we don't have a barn!
Elaine, looks like it wasn't you messing up the keyboard...did you get a refund? Wonder if they are continuing to sell them knowing they are defective.
OK shower. clothes. chores.....Later!

Sheila,
Jeremy has been a carpet installer in the past along with many other things, but most recently he works for me in my paint business. So when I don't work, he doesn't work. And right now, that's okay because we are quite busy getting things in order here.
Matter of fact, he was the biggest help in making this major move from Ft Lauderdale to here. He did so many things I am not physically capable of doing. Without him, I would have had to hire someone to help do the lifting, moving etc. He was here first keeping the animals, generator and cleaning up debris and chopping trees etc while I was closing things down in Lauderdale.
He's had many problems in the past and this is the first time in his life that he has had some real direction in his life. Although these directions are geared to making my property habitable and a home, he's developing good life habits.
Molly
:^)))
That's great! It took my son buying his first home (with our help), meeting a great girl, getting married and settling down to get his finances in order. Otherwise, he was living hand to mouth, with enough jobs to keep him fed and housed, but not making any headway. Now he has purchased a larger home, and he seems very happy with his life. He had a lot of issues with his father and the verbal abuse he took as a child, but that all seems to be laid to rest now. He's 50 in March. My first born is officially middle aged....how is it that I am getting younger??? LOL
I see how much Jeremy has helped with your relocation and all of the improvements that you've made ...I can't believe how much you've gotten done in such a short period of time. It's going to be stunning in Spring.
How did I get back here again. I am showered and half dressed, but I had to call the bank and find out why I couldn't get signed in to my accounts. Turns out it's a cookie problem and now it's solved. So, balanced two checkbooks, paid a bill and now I really do have to get dressed the rest of the way!!!
Mornin everyone. Looks like today is going to be a good one. Too bad I don't have a window to look outside at the sunshine.
M-5 - LOL at the pants. I bought a pair last year that are bright pink with a fruit pattern. DH just gave me "the look" the first time I wore them. I love them though.
Hi Julie!
Sarv - Have a good workout!
Maria - good luck with the dentist.
Orchid - Seed catalogs are so enticing! I want everything too.
Molly - You are so lucky to have your son there to help you. I always look forward to new picturs of your progress. You are doing a fantastic job!
Hope everyone has a good day!
Morning everyone
Well, I promised myself I was going to put on a load of clothes, clean the bathrooms and unload the dish washer before I posted on DG today ... but I didn't do it. :-( Better send the 2X4 over and give me a smack.
M5, I definitely do keep the pot handles all turned the same way or I'd never know wherre they were and would be burning myself silly all the time. LOL I find that the pots they're making now with those crazy handles on both sides make the stove top too crowded and handles are overlapping. You have to be very careful. Well, like I said ... this probably isn't a big deal to most people. :) Guess I just need a bigger stove. LOL LOL
I did get a refund on my keyboard. They were very nice and didn't give me any problem at all.
Hi Julie ... good to see you. Come back and show us some of your crafting. Didn't you get a new sewing machine with the embroidery attachments or something? Sorta foggy on that ... but come share what you've been up to.
Molly, it's very nice that your son is so helpful. I know you are proud of him. If ... by any chance ... you *should* run out of things for him to do (hehehe) just remember I'm not very far away. Could keep him busy. :)
Since I started this post over an hour ago, I've had a wonderful chat with Defoe ... another with a neighbor so um somebody please push me out of this chair! I think my butt's growing to it. LOL LOL
Hi to you, Suzie ... and who else did I see? Oh, CRS is setting in this morning. Well, I *have* to get up from here. Will pop back in a bit.
... Elaine
M5- LOL at the wild pants!!! I have a pair with a big plaid and put them on only to notice when I got home that the plaid was wayyyy off in the hiney area!! Made me appear as if I had two major huge buns....Ok, got it now LNM!! I shop at BBB more often....
orch - I too take allegra D, but I have the 24 hr kind. And I am finding that when I take it, I don't sleep. Let's see, I don't sleep IF I take it and I don't sleep if I don't take it. Problem here....
Just heard that the stroke/one armed cousin that I clean for had another stroke. He's not at home, he's staying with his son. Oh dear....I feel so bad for them all. I am going to go clean his house up next week I think- so that if by chance he comes home, things are clean. I know his mom (my aunt) will try and pay me, but I refuse to take any $$ for it now. He is only one year older than I am.
Maria - good luck at the dentist (I personally hate them...) but you are so sweet, you probably charm them. Have you ever tried a frisbee with Samson?
Speaking of seed catalogs- I still don't have my Parks!! I am so discouraged....why don't they send me one!!!
Gotta question for ya all. Do any of you pay your bills on line using the computer? If so, how? And if I croak before my DH, will be he get a paper bill? (he doesn't touch the computer) And what happens when/if my computer takes a dump? I'd like to do that, but worry about the above things. I do have phone/utilities/email taken right out of my checking acct tho.
Oh, did I tell ya that I made 4 cookies for breakfast?? I was craving something sweet and after I ate something decent, I treated myself to 2 cookies. I know Mary, you are shaking your head at me....but that is my treat for the day....now I feel so guilty....

Good morning. I know what you mean about wanting all those beautiful plants in the catalogs, and they sure know that sending us beautiful catalogs in the middle of winter when we are all wishing for spring will hit us right in our weak spot. My neighbor is coming over this afternoon and we will do some dreaming, decide on a few packets of things we want to share and probably spend too much money anyhow. When we order together we also share the postage which helps a little.
Julie, it's nice to see you again. You must be up to your neck in projects to stay away so long. Maybe you are just reading and not posting like a lot of others do......?
Maria, I know what you mean about the dog being so athletic and catching the ball without even slowing down, they are just amazing. Of course it helps to have 4 legs and a low center of gravity. Is your back feeling better? The dentist appointment doesn't sound like any fun. I have a mouthfull of crowns and go in for cleaning 3x a year, and I have a filling that needs to be replaced this year but have not scheduled it. The only time I think about it is when I eat something sweet and get a zing there from the sugar, or when the hygenist asks if I want to schedule the repair.
Last night just before bedtime I heard a cat yowling, went outside with the flashlight and couldn't find it. After I came back inside I heard it again and realized it was coming from the basement. While I was cooking dinner I had gone down to the food storage room to get potatoes and the cat had followed me. She likes to play hide and seek and so I knew she wouldn't come out any time soon, and I didn't want the kitten to go down there and so I shut the door and then got busy and forgot her. With the volume up on the tv all the evening I hadn't heard her meow until my hubby turned it off. Believe me, she was glad to be rescued and she will stay out of there now for several weeks.
Yesterday I worked in the greenhouse and it was so bright and sunny that I had to open some vents to let out some of the heat. I just wish I could store more of it because a few hours after the sun went down the furnace was working again. More jugs of water under the benches would help moderate the temps a bit but for the size of the greenhouse I need about 300 gallons. It's a case of more is better and if I cleaned up some of the junk under the benches there would be room for more jugs. My main temperature moderator in there is a 200 gallon water trough which makes it more efficient than last year.
I need to get outside and feed the horses, get the house straightened up a bit and go for a horseback ride if weather conditions are good enough for that. I need to get the horses moving again after the break I gave them (since late October) The first endurance ride of the 2006 season is the last weekend in March and that will be here sooner than I think. I also have to get myself in shape again. Long layoffs are harder on the rider than they are on the horse. The weather forecast for today says 70% chance of rain or snow showers, wind 15-20 mph, so I need to plan my ride carefully to avoid getting wet. Hubby waterproofed my riding shoes last night so at least the feet would be dry.
Have a great day, see you later.
Sarv, I use https://mycheckfree.com/br/wps?sp=10001&rq=bfbl and have never had any problems. I like that they remind me via email when I have a new bill, and their system allows me to select payment dates.
Okay, off to do chores!
Hi All,

Kelly
Hi everyone. I just got an dmail from a non member telling me she was told I give out seeds for a sase.
I was going to just go ahead and give her my info, (she is from OK too), don't know who gave her my name.
Anyway, I decided to tell her that I only did that with subscribers and that it was only $15 a year and she could then access all the forums such as seed trading,
Please give me your opinion if I did the right thing. I am not stingy with my seeds, but I feel that if we paid to do this, they should too. IMHO
Susan
=^..^=
Susan, that's what I would have done in the same circumstance. I do not trade with non-subscribers.
Susan, I agree with Darius. I've never traded with a non member unless I did it and didn't realize. LOL You *did* the right thing. (in my opinion)
It is raining cats and dogs here. The DH just called to see what the plans were for tonight. I said mine were to stay dry. LOL I guess it will
turn off freezing again. :-(
Well, we're having shrimp for supper, so think I'll go get them peeled and ready to cook.
... Elaine
Edited for punctuation. LOL
This message was edited Feb 2, 2006 3:09 PM
Susan, sounds exactly like what I do. If you want to trade, have her send you the SASE first tho.
Sheila, LOVE the sound of those pants. Who cares! I have some similar, hot pink ones that I wear out in the yard working and my son just rolls his eyes when I do, lol.
Mary, am glad that you finally got the sunshine. It was so great yesterday but today back to the gray dark clouds.
SIGH! Withdrawls!
Sarv, I pay my bills either from the bank or from each company to withdraw from my checking co. like GG says. If you do croak, your husband can go pay them in person or just send it the check with the bill. He will figure it out. Like GG says, if your hard drive dies, you can always get online on your sites on any other computer.
I am going to the last wrestling meet tonight. Am planning on going to do some errands in the bigger city for once. Like Best Buy, Circuit City, and the mall. My father offered to buy me a web camera since he has one now. He wants to try to talk with me online since I don't hear very well on the phone anymore. So am excited to see how this will work.
Any of you guys have a web camera???
Need to get back to work after lunch time. So later all,
Carol (DR)
9kit- I would have done the same thing...
Ok another question here. If I do pay from the computer, do they send a paper bill also? Sorry this is all new to me.
Dr - no web cam here-but it sounds like fun!!
IO1 - shrimp yum. I am plain tired of cooking - we seem to have the same oh thing over and over. Almost think meals on wheels sounds like fun!! LOL not really...
DH is snoring - and I have cabin fever.....
Hi There,
Home safely about half an hour ago. Didn't connect with friends in the Syracuse area and came straight back along the Lake. Good weather - even sunny. I have one FILTHY car and think I'll go out and get it washed. Could probably do it on the driveway as it is mild, but I'd have to use a bucket as the hose isn't connected.
Have not yet ready anything above. Will do that later and give a proper response. And yes, my return is a secret from my successor at the FC. He knows that I'll be back for the volunteer party on Saturday, and I'll keep it at that.
More later.
Ann
Sarv, yes, I get paper copies of my bills too. Some places like credit card companies try to get you to not get the paper (called paperless) copies, but I like all documentation that I can get.
Sarv, when I pay my bills on line ... it gives you a place to print them out so you have a copy of your transaction. Then you can also get an Email comformation. I've never had a problem. I have a couple I pay that way. It's very nice for me. I can go on line, look at my statements, pay my bills *and* spend my money all at the same time. LOL LOL I think the DH regrets the day I became so independent. *just teasing*
Hi Ann. So good to see you're home safe. I don't blame you. I'd keep it a secret, too. Hey, it's safe with us. If your car was here ... you wouldn't have to worry about washing it. It's still flooding.
I'm fixing one of those copy cat recipes with the shrimp. It's TGIF sizzling shrimp. If you like spicy, you ought to try it. Yum. I've already chopped up the peppers, onions and garlic. I still have to do those shrimp. ;)
Hey, all, I'm still here. I had to take a day off for work and kids (and American Idol) so took me about 2 hours to catch up on everything I've been watching.
Sounds like everybody has had a pretty good couple of days.
I have to ask about the Teflon coated pans. I must have missed where that started and I'm not having much luck finding it. What is the problem with them because I have several and some are old and really scratched up?
Also, update on new furbaby. We did go with the name Samoa, and he is starting to warm up to everybody. No more hiding, and he even will sit on my lap and let me pet him once I get ahold of him. Still a little skittish when you first walk up to him though.
Poor kitty, getting locked in the basement!! I've done that with some of mine because they follow me into the garage every time I go in. If I forget and shut the door they get trapped. I missed Chip for about 2 days one time and was getting really worried about him. I finally heard meows from the garage and let him out. He was really happy to see me! (and the food bowl!!)
Susan-Did the person ask on your dmail or regular e-mail? I didn't realize someone could send you a dmail if they weren't a subscriber. Looks like I've got alot to learn still. And I agree also, they should subscribe because they're missing out on too much if they don't.
IO1-Shrimp sounds sooo good, but I'm the only one in my house that will eat it, so I never get any. Take a few bites for me!!
Sarv-I don't have several of the seed catalogs I usually get either. I'm worried some of them took me off their lists for not ordering cause I try to keep it down to one or two companies each year so I can keep track.
Meezer-congrats on the pants. I couldn't pass up a deal like that either, no matter what color they are!
Everyone I missed, I'll probably talk to you more later.
what I just wrote went into space, lol was telling you I just came back from dentist had a refilling done on a crown tooth, no novacaine, lol, he said let me know when it hurts I never did! My gums are slowly receeding at my age ;-(
I only traded once with a member would not if he/she were not.
Sarv, yes, I tried a friisby with Samson but he thinks it is a bone and started to chew it up, lol, took it away from him, don't see why he wants to eat plastic.
There was quite a bit if leftovers but DD took itall home with her, lol,she always does, she said to good for Samson and I know you don't eat anything unless we are with you, and she is right, lol
Mary, thank you for asking, yes, back is much better!
Ann, very smart of you not to tell I would do the same thing, glad you are back save and sound.
See you later, going outside with Samson, sun is shining
Sarv, see if your bank has a website and if they offer a bill payment service for free. If they do, banks have very good security, and you can pay many of them through the service. It is not an automatic deduction, you stilll have to do some input for the amount, etc. You will still get a paper bill, I just write paid on it and the verification number the bank provides. Other bills might offer payment through their own website, and you can use that at no cost, our cable co. will let you pay on line, or even on the phone. Stamps are up to .39 so it's worth checking it out. Get a new computer will ya? You are going to piddle around until something happens to the one you are using and then you will buy in a panic and not get what you really want. I
I only write about two checks a month now. I've shown DH where I file bills, given him password access and I guarantee if I drop dead he will forget everything, eventually the lights and heat will be turned off, cable will disappear, the phone will go dead, and he will slowly starve because all the bottles and jars in the first row in the 'frig are empty.
Susan I think you were right not to send seeds, if we did that we'd soon be known as Dave's Free Seed Garden. I don't collect and save my seeds for every Tom Dick or Harry. Let 'em pay up to join, it is so inexpensive . I'm not sure I'd even have the nerve to ask someone for seeds unless they offered them first. I'm happy to share with people I've chatted with but, reallly!!!
I have a naughty kitten on my lap who wants to play with the keys, so I better get away from here before he does something fatal.
This message was edited Feb 2, 2006 3:43 PM
Here is a copy of the email I got.
9kittymom,
I am new to this site... well I'm new to gardening too :)
I just arrived here in the US and I miss my mother's garden back home. Although I never did a lot of gardening myself I would like to surround myself again with flowers and all kinds of plants.
I have read that you send out seeds for SASE. Do you still do this? Can I have some? :)
I don't have any seeds to trade with so it would be just wonderful if you could share some of yours. I would appreciate it if you would tell me what seeds you have available.
Hope to hear from you soon. Bright Blessings!
Daisy
She says she has read that I do that. Where would she have read that if she isn't a member? hummmm
She is from Lawton, OK so I started to do it anyway, since she is an Okie. But didn't. Feel kind of bad about it, but after hearing your comments, I guess I did the right thing.
I use the bill pay service through my credit union for pay the everyday bills. I have to enter what I want to pay and they send them out. I still get the paper bill to enter from. I pay my credit card bills online at the various credit card sites. I am paperless, but you don't have to be.
Had my first real therapy session this afternoon. Had to do my exercises first, then the therapist did all kinds of passive movements of my arm. I couldn't believe how high she could get it. wow, maybe I will get it back someday. LOL I am NOT supposed to do any of those as active movements, that is a no no. It has to be passive and she/he will move it for me.
Well, I better go do a few other things before dinner.
Susan
=^..^=
Flower anyone that has access to DG can send you a dmail. Lot of people don't know that. But they can.
I love shrimp. My DS is the only other one and since DH isn't crazy about it, I don't fix it anymore. I could just sit down and eat boiled shrimp and cocktail sauce and nothing else.LOL
Susan I bet even though she is new to the country that she has head about Johnny Apple Seed and figures your his sister.
Well susan if she is a member and sent you a D-Mail you can trace it but if she sent a E-mail to your regular addy then toooooo many people know what your addy is. You can trace her addy back and I am assuming you done that with your firewall. I would not think this was dangerous in any way. Those type people begin with veiled threat 99% most of the time. She could not scare you asking for seeds. If it was a stalker playing a game she would have said something like "can I have some seeds. I know where you live I will come by your house and get them".
M5, I have wanted to this banking as yousaid but was worried about not just the compter not working but also the Electricity. Now the ltter will be no probel with the ne geberator. Just have to get started, how does one make a deposit? I am totally ignotrant about the whole thing,
Talk about banking, meant to tell you some one or two held up my little bank her in town, imagine this happened in this very rural town. I go there quite often and just wanted to get in when I saw tons of police cruisers surrounding the place , the bank is not much bigger then my 5 room house, fortuately no one was hurt but did get away with money.
Susan - I think you did the right thing. You don't know this person. It would be interesting to know how she got her informtion.
I pay most of my bills through my bank online. It's very easy once you set up all the payee information. It so much easier to keep track of my account online. I can always check when I forget to write in an ATM transaction.
ViolaAnn - glad you are home safe and sound.
Gotta get moving. Probably won't be back tonight, so have a good night everyone.
Well, I guess chat cleared everyone out for awhile.
101, come on up and help me with the pics. Enjoyed our chat today. Lunch was good. You always have such good sounding recipes. For someone who didn't cook until after married, you have come up with some good food. Lots of friends eh?
Julie- Hi, waving frantically, I have missed you, drop in more often.
Maria, I laughed at Samson's antics with the ball, then frowned when I heard about the dentist appt. Glad it went okay though. And a bank robber in your area? Several years ago, my bank was robbed, but by someone who had perfected a method of "fishing out deposits" to overnight drop box with a fishing pole, and some contraption he made. When caught, the police had him show them how he did it!! LOL, crook teaching the cops.
Orchidfancy, you did introduce yourself, but welcome again. I take Allegra also, and it mostly keeps my allergies in check. I take it first thing in the morning, could take it again at night, but it tends to keep me awake. When I look at seed catalogues, I want some of everything. They sure have a good marketing director.
Meezer, come on down, it is pretty nice here in Kentucky. You have to promise to bring Sami with you though, so I can have some kittie kisses. My DH is the same way, bills wouldn't get paid, he would have no idea what we had in the bank, and the 1st row in the fridge would get used, but hey that would expose the 2nd row. Maybe when he worked himself through the layers, he would decide, not to go to the store, but to call some relatives!!
Molly, yeah for Jeremy and his strong back. Isn't it great to see the "light dawing" on these middle aged sons. The message finally gets through.
Mary, the cat is sort of funny, bet she thought that you were punishing her. Probably will be many days before she/he follows you again. Please explain how you "waterproof shoes". Never heard of it. DH uses bear grease to condition his work shoes, is it something like that?
GG, maybe your 11:00 had a panic attack, got deathly afraid of the hair spay can. Who knows, hope she calls and tells you what the problem was. A couple of years ago during a very stressful time, I showed up on Tuesday for a Wednesday appointment. The girl took me, fixed me right up, and it wasn't until later realized what I had done. I called and apologized, as she was usually closed on Tuesday. She had her salon in her home also. Was I ever embarrased!!
Kittymom, I think I had the same encounter with the same person. I told her that I normally didn't do trades with non subscribers. Then I got another request for tomato seeds. I know that he is a subscriber, but had never traded with him before, but to read his d-mail, you would have thought I was the "ultimate authority" on tomatoes. Duh, I just grow them and eat them.
DR, pay no attention to rolling eyes of sons. They tend to go through those stages, and you could be dressed in the finest, but it would still be wrong. Sons tend to be ashamed of mom's for an extended period of time when growing up!! Mine, who is 40, rolls his eyes at my cut off jeans shorts and tank tops in the summer. I tell him, I own this property, and if he finds something offensive here, he can call ahead for an appointment.
VA, welcome back. Your secret is safe with me. Sorry you didn't make the connection in Syracuse, but glad that you enjoyed the trip.
FC, glad that Samoa is getting used to his/her surroundings. When she feels secure enough, you will begin to see the personality.Nothing makes our hearts melt faster than to see an unwanted cat/dog. My neighbor has been designated the "rescue person" for this area. She has taken in 4 dogs in 3 years. Those dogs don't know how lucky they are!!
Well, to fill you in on my day, packaged 2 things for trade, picked up the house some, did 1 load of laundry, made a casserole to take to a church dinner, talked to 101, dressed and off for the lunch. Was very enjoyable. Home, rested, and fixed supper. Had most of it done, by cooking this morning. Read some this evening, watched a little tv, wrote some letters, packaged two more trades to go out tomorrow, and my behind has been in this chair trying to catch up.
DH took DMIL back to surgeon today. He has to take her back to the hospital tomorrow, to have fluid drawn off her lungs. The surgeon seemed pleased with her progress. 2 of her daughters are coming in this weekend and doing some wallpapering at her house, and doing some cleaning, anticipating her return home in a week or so. Since DH and I and 1 other daughter are closest, we will probably get most of the duties of making sure that things are going well. I will cook extra for her and take it to her. The surgeon wants her to consume as many calories as she can, so can anybody say FAT!!
Well, DGD comes tomorrow after school for the weekend. Plus I am having all my family Sunday for lunch, as DM's birthday is Saturday. So tomorrow will be devoted to straightening and cleaning the house, and mentally making preparations for the meal. When my twin DS comes from 2 hours away on Sunday, one of her friends is giving us a refrigerator for the garage, so they will bring that with them. I am so glad, as at holiday time, it will come in handy, plus keeping cold beverages handy when working outside this summer.
Well, I am going to check some other forums, and may be back later. But if I don't make it, Everyone have a good restful, peaceful night.
