Lily Silk Road

I saw Madonna Lily at Brecks, but it was very expensive. I know I didin't pay that much for the ones I have. I also saw seed at The Lily Garden. 50 seeds for 5.00.

Will you guys please stop stop stop. You may think you are kindly enabling. I call it the road to bankruptcy. At least we have the Lily Nook, here in Canada though I CRAVE some of the US suppliers bulbs (at Cdn dollar prices ya know).

I think if I had to rate them, the Lily Nook would be at the top of my list, so you are very lucky indeed, Inanda.

I also thought FogBelt a little pricy, but they did have some beauties I hadn't seen before. Does anyone know if you can specify a delivery date with them?

The Lily Nook has a great selection, especially with their cool Orienpets, but their prices are really high - even factoring in the exchange rate. Add in the inspection cost and shipping and it's a lot of money for what you get :-(

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

I don't have the paperwork anymore, but one late night I figured out the rate of exchange versus shipping and convinced myself that if I spent at least 100.00, it came out about the same as Lily Garden prices. Of couse I could of figured wrong. Math was not my best subject (LOL).

If you deduct 25% from the Canadian price, that is what we pay. I just checked their Orientals; most are $6, making our price $4.50 and that's about the same as we'd find here.

Why don't you guys do a bulk order from the Lily Nook. Just one phyto cost, etc. etc/

I was out there digging in the fall, really weedfree with mulch. Was very impressed.

Hope to see the fields in bloom next summer.

How can we do a bulk order without it being considered a co-op? Wouldn't we need someone to be in charge of the whole thing and does Dave approve of it?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

You do it privately ~ and with just a handful of buddies. Instead of having an open "co-op style" you ask a few friends if they would like to participate.

boys and girls, am i blind or no more CO-OP Forum?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Yes, there is no Co-op forum any longer.

thanks, moby.

Too many co-ops went sour. I'm sorry it stopped. Ii had fun hosting my spider daylily co-op last spring.

Moby is right--all you need is a wholesale catalog and enough people interested to make up a minimum order numbers. You usually have to buy 5-25 bulbs of a kind to qualify. That's when it helps to have a few friends....

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Even without wholesale, a person can always contact a vendor and ask about a group discount. The worst that can happen is that they say 'no'.

I inquired and another DG person and I split a nice order of daylilies! We'll each start with one fan but there will be many different varieties we both agreed upon, much to our "luck", Moby! It was so much work and so much fun.
