Good Morning All,
Here's the daily con't from

Have a Great day.

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Well it is officially tomorrow, LOL. I think that I have finally recouperated!! Hooray. Stayed home from regular church today, fixed lunch, then lounged on the couch again with Mr. B, by my side, what a sweetie. Then at about 5:00, decided that I felt well enough to go to church tonight at the little country church that is trying to reestablish itself. Enjoyed the service, home and changed into gown and robe and watched "a rerun of Desperate Housewives. Sure will be glad when February sweeps give us some new episodes. Reading a real good book, so made some headway with it. I talked to my twin sister late this afternoon, and found out that she has been sick also, so we supposed that she brought it in to me when she was here last Tuesday night and Wednesday. She is currently working, and comes in contact with the public, so I suppose that is where the virus came from. She will not be coming down this week, but we are having Mom's birthday dinner on Sunday and will be here for that. My mom will be turning 87 of Feb 4, and gets her feelings hurt when we don't celebrate her birhday.

Meezer what a cut up that Sammi is, such a cute picture!!. Sammie is a he isn't he?

dmc, glad to see you back, don't stay gone for so long again.

McCool, just get to the work, then you will feel a sense of accomplishment.

VA, have a good trip, if you can't post, just think of the time it will take to catch up when you return. Forget the former employer, and just have fun, relax, shop, read, practice, and come back fully refreshed.

Sarv, sounds like you had an afternoon like mine. I was lying on the couch, supposedly watching the UK ballgame, and the next thing I knew it was halftime. Managed to stay awake during the 2nd half, and was so happy to see them "pull it out". They have such potential, but are playing lousy this year.

Carat, your description of the pool, makes me pause and ask, do I really want one? I think I do, and since DGD spends the summer with me, I can in good conscience justify the price. We may get an above ground, and when her interest wanes, visits decrease, maybe can sell it. What is 1/2 hour more a day of labor. I feel that I can garden, get hot, jump in the pool, cool off, and go back to gardening. Good for me too?

Molly, a bath in your huge tub, minus the plants, sounds like a plan to me. Just love the fact that you are able to get plants in the ground. Thursday, I took a walk around my yard, and inspected all the dormant plant life. I will be glad when my spring bulbs can give me some color. I feel so deprived right now.

Where are Ernie, Bal, 101, I miss you all, please come back and tell us that you have been too busy to post.

Maria, look forward to seeing new pics of Samson. Also look forward to talking to you again.

Sarv, I saw you over in the Daylily forum, are you a newbie like me? I think I have got the DL fever. Have a few, but want many more!! Somebody stop me, please.

Kittymom, you doing okay?

And to all that I may have missed, it wasn't intentional, just like Carat, MEMORY IS THE FIRST THING TO GO.

Well, off to a real bed tonight, hope that I can sleep, after all the naps I had today.

Good night all.

Clinton, IN(Zone 5b)

Sorry I missed everybody on yesterday's thread. And I'm not sure how you do this when the new one comes up. Do we start on it as soon as we see it, or do we stay on the old thread?
Since I've switched over to here, I can't remember who all said what, but I'll sure try to talk anyway. I do remember somebody asked me where the heck Cayuga is. I'm right on the Illinois border about 1 1/2 hours from Indianapolis, but the real answer is in the middle of nowhere, or maybe everywhere. I can drive 45 minutes in any direction and I can get to a good sized city. Terre Haute is 45 minutes south of me, and Champaign, IL is off to the other direction somewhere, but I don't know exactly which way. DH usually does the driving, I just ride along.
Some one also asked about pet pics. I don't have any right now, but I just bought a roll of film, so maybe can get some shortly. Also got a new addition to the family today. Another kitten showed up awhile back and we couldn't catch him. Matthew caught him today and brought him inside, but we haven't seen him since. I think he's hiding under the couch somewhere, but he doesn't want to come out. I'm hoping he will get used to us.
I don't have a name yet, but am open to suggestions. Any cookies that describe a longhair cat that is mostly white with splotches of tabby markings? My other four are all black and white, so he's the oddball.
The quilts are great! Wish I had some more. All I have is a cheapy from Walmart that is starting to come apart and some old ratty ones from an auction that I bought for a buck. I do have all of my great-grandmother's old patterns, though.
Good news!!! The kitten just came out of hiding!! He's been there for almost 8 hours, and just came out and meowed at me, so we might be getting somewhere.

Hi Flower
At the end of each day a link to the new day is posted. You can follow it right on over and post anytime you want. :) If you need to go back and review what happened while you were away ... just go up to the top of the thread ... there's a link back where we came from. LOL

I tried to come up with a cookie name, but couldn't. The only thing I thought of was Sandy ... you know for Pecan Sandies. I know that's no good, but hey, it's late. LOL LOL

Well, it's about that time for me, so I'll be saying good night. I'm not *even* going to try to catch up today. will just have to get back in the swing of things tomorrow. *waving to everyone*

FC, I had a cat named Butterscotch as a child and he was a calico but with only three orange spots. So I think scotties or what ever they are called would be great.

Its only 9:50 and I am exhausted and I have to work tomorrow. YUCK. After last weeks shooting on Thursday, stabbing on Friday and a 13 Overdosing I was really reconsidering if I wanted to go back again. I am so shocked at the kids and then even more so at the parents. When a new child comes in to our school we ask what on earth could cause a child to behave this way and then we meet with the parent and most of the time all is explained to us within the first few words out of their mouths.

Nite all

Verona, ON

Remember Flowerchild 95 you can travel to anywhere in the world from Cayuaga. When we first moved to Verona Ontario a verrrry small community, one of the local farmers came to say HEY and reminded me that we could go anywhere in the world from Verona if we wanted. It has stuck in my mind all these years and chuckle every time I hear someone asked just exactly where do you live anyway?
Ann - you aren't too far down the road from me actually - it is 2 hours one way from my drive to the PArking Lot at Lansdown Park. For years I participated in the Ottawa Christmas Craft Festival, Originals and for a few years The Tulip Festival. It's neat when you post and mention certain places because I can finally say "Oh, I know where that is, been,.......
Have a great day all

Good Morning to all, especially to Dianne, an old friend from NightOwls,
so ver nice to see you here, so please stay put ,'-)
I can't stay very long sciatica pain does not want to go away, I have been up since 5 nd had to walk plus taking painkiller

I need a new keaboard as you can see it skips letters and when trying to correct it it will not let me, :-(

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Morning everyone - slept the best I have slept in months - dont know why, but I'm just enjoying the refreshing feeling of a good sleep. Just had a turkey sandwich for breakfast- we did a turkey breast yesterday and it was wonderful. Just the two of us and we had a grand time.

I have a question - Darius do you know?? We have two teflon pans (which are going in the trash today) , but my kids have the analized (I know this is spelled wrong) they are the calaphon kind. Are they ok??? Someone please let me know- this really bothers me...

Molly, I am so jealous/happy that you have your plants in the ground. What a good job done. I did take a garden walk here yesterday and the hellebores are the only thing that looks alive - but what a mess- small tree limbs all over. We;'ve had so much rain and I cannot even get in the beds to pick them up.

defoe- I like daylilies too - there's not many flowers that I don't like. I tried starting seeds this year and was successful with only one sprouting - but alas yesterday I noticed it bit the dust - I think I had them too wet. I did pot up 8 proliferations and they are doing well, only they are orange and I am not especially in love with that color.

I am awaiting my seeds from pinetree - I thought they would have been here by now. I'm trying some wave petunias!!

Mary glad to see that you survived your endurance ride. We have a friend that is bike riding from California to Florida - we get updates from him - reminds me of you!! You both amaze me, but I wouldn't be the person to tackle anything like that!

Maria- hope that pain goes away -my shoulder ache is still there, but not as bad as it once was. I don't wince at every move...

Well, off again today to the huff and puff and then a birthday dinner tonight. Need to clean the house a bit in between. Plus, I need some potting soil, and that will have to come first!! Priorities ya know....

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

FlowerChild95 - you must be close to Danville, IL. When I finished up my masters at UI in Champagne-Urbana I had a teaching job from January to the end of the term in Danville - back in 1968. Thee was a whole carload of us who commuted from Chambana to the same school.

Dianne - have you posted before? If so, I missed it. I'm guilty of skimming from time to time. Which direction is Verona?

Well as Dianne knows, we've got freezing rain, I wasn't planning to hit the road until around 10 and it gets warmer south of here; so I think I'll still head out. 10 should allow me to miss the rush hour and by then the road should be well salted and it might be warming a bit everywhere.

Ann

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Sarv, I know that feeling. Darius' Hellebores are blooming beautifully right now and 3 of the new plants I bought are Camellias and Azalea. I needed that color. When I finished planting yesterday, there was no time to sprinkle them, no need though, it rained all night.

The mobile home people finally got over here to fix the things on the punch list. Only problem is, I kept giving the punch list to the different guys that were sent out here so many times and none of them gave the list over to anyone else. I had to re-write it each time and in the end, I forgot about the leak between the front door and the screen. It leaks a big drip, hits the threshhold and leaks into the house on the carpet. My first job after the rain stops and things dry up is to get some caulking around that door.

When we get a new metal roof put on, it will have an overhang so all the water doesn't just run down off the roof unto the sides of the house.

Tomorrow we go with a shovel and rubbermaid bins to get rabbit and horsey poo from another "Freecycler". Can't wait to spread it around my future veggie garden!

Well, I am up and about. Have several things that need to get done today. The virus is history, so hope that nothing else comes to take it's place.

VA have a good trip, and drive safely.

Molly, Darius, gonna play in poo today, wish I had some of it.

GG, I need to wrestle with paper work today too, so just put the blinders on and get going.

Maria, sorry to hear about the pain again, hope it gets better.

Sarv, I have several day lily seeds planted, so waiting to see how they do.

Hi 101, Kidney Guy, FC, I'll be back later, after I feel that I have accomplished some work.

Have a great day.

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning. It's a rainy stormy morning. There is still a few inches of snow on the ground but I'm sure gonna need my rubber boots to keep my feet dry when I go out to feed the horses this morning.

Sarv, I wasn't riding this weekend, just sitting on my behind in a chair at the regional convention we have every year. We get the year end awards from the previous season at our annual banquet, have a bunch of interesting speakers about endurance related topics, business meetings, election of officers. The ride season in the Northwest region doesn't begin until the end of March although other regions in the US are already having rides. We compete nationally and regionally, with points and miles being accumulated through the whole year. In past years I have received national awards but not this time.

AmandaPanda and my hubby entertained each other this weekend, she didn't get into too much trouble. Each morning while I was gone she went right to my bed to find me when my hubby let her out of the bathroom where she spends the nights.

I'd better post this now, I've got a cat on each side of me and they are both in a playful mood.

Flower, nice to see you. You could call the kitty Obie for oddball (ob). I had another suggestion but it is lost somewhere in that great cloudy area known as my mind at the moment, might think of it later. It the kitty male or female, and about how old?

Maria, I'm so sorry you are hurting again. Did you fall or twist something?

Carat, your job sounds like a survival type of thing until you can move. How long now, didn't you say spring of 2007? It's gonna be a different world for sure and one you will enjoy immensely.
Ann, have a good and safe trip and just put the FC out of your mind and enjoy yourself. I hope you can check in now and then on a borrowed computer.

Defoe, glad to hear that you are over the bug. I heard on the radio that cases of flu are down to about half of what they were before Christmas, but of course there are other colds and nastys lurking.

Sammi is cute in the tissue box. They sure do find unusual places to get into.

Oh now it's teflon, I wonder what it will be next week. They tell us this stuff is safe, we use it for 20 years and then they tell us it will kill us. Those plastic bags people cook roasts in scare me so I have never used one, and only have one nonstick pan that gets used maybe once a week.

For those of you with fibro, I was listening to a program on America's Health Network (radio) where a Naturopathic doctor was saying that a diet with lots of fresh and raw fruits and vegetables, and whole grains and avoiding refined products including sugar control it pretty well. Apparently it has something to do with the body's inability to deal with the refined stuff, which sure sounds logical to me. Same thing with diabetes he said it can be controlled with diet and without insulin.

Marysville, WA(Zone 7a)

Good morning one and all. I have been lurking, although not responding much. I'm sure it has something to do with the dreariness of tthe season. Short, dark dismal days which never dry out. There have been a couple brief periods where the hard surfaces would be dry between rains, but not for long or frequent enough. The girls have started really scrapping at mealtime. Don't know who starts it, Immy or Tinker, but they go at it tooth and nail. They will set their own rules in time. Much of my time is spent in the shop carving or vegging out in front of the boob-tube. The time seems to pass so quickly. That seems to be a part of getting too old and wondering how it happened so fast. I did finally get in touch with the 'young' carpenter who has done a lot of work for us. After he heals from knee surgery he said doing the several small jobs wouldn't be a problem. Somehow I don't enjoy working on the roof or at the top of a ladder anymore. Paying wages is cheaper than a trip to the Emergency Room. DW's trip to D.C. for a conference is in March. I've had it in my mind it was either Feb. or May. Her trips are the only times I can get away with remodeling stuff and/or messy jobs. I'd like to rebuild the kitchen this time, but lack the $15,000 or so it would take, not to mention the courage to face her wrath when she got back ! Besides, she would be hurt if I didn't at least discuss it with her, and that would never do. One doesn't distress the love of one's life does one. The garden is springing to life. Little greenie things are popping up and the roses have new growth beginning to form. I hate working in the rain. The years spent on a Survey crew slashing line through stands of wet Vine Maple, brush and trees was enough.
Made a couple loaves of French bread the other day. It was OK, but I need a lesson in loaf forming. Soup sounds good for dinner again tonight. Have to run to the market for fruit and veggies so might as well pick up something to make stock from too, and try another loaf or two of bread. Dug up the kiwi and Kiftsgate rose during a short time when the rain stopped, and delivered them to a friend who has a nice 5 acre yard. Just have to remember that it is closer to berries and cream time in Mackie's Place than it is to Fall and Winter again. I do sincerely hope all who are hurting, physically or emotionally, are soon to be healed and that all the furbabies are in good health. Time to put the raingear on and take the trash out to the curb.

Hi all
I have missed a lot over the past few days and won't even begin to comment on everything. Am glad to know most are well, though.

Maria I'm soooo sorry to hear that you're down with that Sciatica again. Hope it improves soon, and you'll be back to yourself. :)

Mary, I am glad you had a nice week-end and you're back safe. Hope you stayed dry when you went out this morning to feed the horses. How are they doing? I didn't realize you rode in compititions. Is that what you meant when you said you didn't receive any awards?

Defoe, so glad you're feeling back to normal now. Don't like to know my friends are under the weather. :)

Boy, we sure have a lot of kitty furbabies in "coffee". Poor Kota's pic was outnumbered the other night. LOL Maria, when you feel up to it, you need to post another pic of Samson.

M5, I didn't realize Sammy was still so small. Bet you have to be careful not to step on that little fella.

Sarv, thought of you today. I had rotiserary chick, left over squash and steamed asparagus for *breakfast*. LOL LOL While it might not be your choice ... you have to admit it *was* unusual. :)

Well, we went to church Sunday. Learned how to down load books to my Book Port and am reading a couple of books. :) One is a gardening book which I'm enjoying, and another is a Mark Twain. Had to battle the laundry monster, as it's Monday, run the vac and am doing a bit of typing again. Will try to check back later.
Hugs to those I've misssed.

Hello everybody, justread everything yesterday and never get around to posting. Sorry.

Maria I really hate to hear about the sciatica. That hurts so much.

Love that Sammy kitty, nookitty. LOL Wish I had another siamese kitty. Am at my limit right now, but you have to be open to whatever comes up. literally. LOL

I made a big pot of 14 bean soup yesterday and DH made the fried potatoes again.

Haven't decided on food today for dinner at least,

What with everyone talking about their keyboards, mine is now sticking. It doesn't like r, have never had a problem before. So hush everyone and maybe mine will unstick itself.

I have been busy all day trying to get my ebay listing back out. I had pulled everything right before the surgery and it is tedious to put it all back. Hope I can start selling some stuff again, it has been very slow.

Tried to sit outside awhile today as I gave the kitties their kitty milk, but the wind is awful even if it is warm, 59 right now, and came back in when they had finished.

DH is at his chipper. He is so happy to get back to his outside work, he was getting very down not being able to do his stuff while I had to be tended to constantly. He came and said he was going out, and I said have fun, and he said he would. LOL He is so sweet. He is trying to get all the stuff done so he can start our garden. He puts a layer of chipped mulch on it and then tills it all in. Then he puts compost on it and tills it again. Full time job almost, but he does enjoy it.

Better get back to ebay.

IO1 - welcome to my world of goofy breakfasts!! Food is food- doesn't matter to me when I eat what!!

Haven't done much of anything today - went to the locker to get some meat - they are a little place in a small town west of us - you can watch them cutting up the sides of beef. DGS loves it!! Picked up15 lbs of ground beef. I am real picky about that- some of the stuff we've gotten at the local store smells awful when you cook it- then I can't eat it at all!!

I'm going out tonight, so DH is on his own (he loves it, then he can eat as much as he wants without me tsk tsking)

I have my black clothes on from head to toe - I need to find my black glasses yet. Then stop for some black balloons. (50th birthday party - what a spring chicken!)

Hey, do any of you use something like 'turbo' tax for your taxes? I've taken ours for years to an accountant, but we have gone short form for years and I'm getting tired of paying over $100 bucks for something I can do myself. I'm always a wreck and make DH go with me and I kinda hate going back to doing everything myself, but thought I would spend the extra on flowers (he wouldn't care...)

Gloomy and cold here today - spitting biting snow too. But nothing on the ground. I'll check in later!!

Clinton, IN(Zone 5b)

Hey all. Sorry I haven't kept up today. I had a substitute teaching job today. Got to teach kindergarten, and they really wore me out!!
Glad to hear that everybody is starting to feel better, but sorry about the sciatica, Maria. I've only experienced it during pregnancy, and I know that was bad, so I can't imagine having it recurring.
Wish I could get plants in the ground here, but it's way too soon for us. It got a little cold today, but the worst is that it's just plain dreary and we had this drizzly misty stuff coming down all day. I'd rather have it be cold and have some sunlight anyday.
The kitten is a male and probably about 12 weeks old. He's still a liitle guy. I think he came from the same litter as Snickers, because they are about the same size and I found her out in my yard the same way. They kept hissing at each other last night, but when I came home today both greeted me at the door looking for an afternoon snack so I think he's going to work out alright.
Maybe we should have a naming contest for him. I did like Oddball (Obie for short) but my DH is a Star Wars fan and would start calling him Obie Wan Kinobie, so I'm not sure how well that would work. Sandy was another suggestion (short for pecan sandies) and that one is cute also. Any other suggestions?

Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Hey everybody! Took me all day to catch up from Friday. I won't even begin to try to catch up on everything, just what little I can remember.

Carat - Congrats on the property! I was wondering when you were leaving Vegas. I might be headed out your way in Sept. A group of us want to go to Vegas for a friends 50th birthday. I'll let you know when we work out a date. Did the shooting happen at your school? Scares the bejeebers out of me what kids are capable of anymore.

ViolaAnn - Hope you have a safe trip. Congrats on retirement.

Had a busy weekend. Spent half the day Sat. shopping with a friends then we met up with DH's and another couple and went out for dinner. Yesterday felt like being a slug, so didn't do much.

Time to leave work, so I'll catch up again later. Sorry to those I've missed.

FlowerChild - Good to see a new face at the table. Hope to see you often. I am also a cat person. I have 3 cats and a dog.

Maria - Sure hope your back feels beter soon.

Sarv, Yes, I use TurboTax. My father has used it for years and finally I got it last year. It is GREAT!!!!
I talked my neighbor into it last year too and he just loved it and always has bought it.
So for only $20, it is worth it.
Go for it. It is easy to do on the computer, believe me.
Carol (DR)(the even one)

Boy did I have a hard time getting in here today! Did a long windy post, and hit Preview and poooof! Gone! So then I was po'd and flopped on the couch and watched crap all day. Had plenty of company, all the furkids needed to be petted, in between being chased by Sammi the Rocket Man. He flies around like a hypeactive two year old until he is exhausted, then falls asleep whereever he lands. Both girls are tentatively playing with him, (and yes, he definitely is a him) but when he gets too excited, they flee for high ground.

Congrats, the Weird Breakfast Club has a new member!! Elaine, yours sounded fairly healthy ....I don't know if I had breakfast or brunch, with leftover rigatoni alfredo and Popeye's Chicken at 10:30 but it certainly qualifies as weird...

Maria, I hope your sciatica is better. That's so miserable. Did the chiro help at all?d

MaryE, AmandaPanda must have missed you! DH didn't quite fill her petting requirements~ ? LOL

GG, finish your taxes! LOL, DH does ours. Sarv, if you are doing a short form, you can call up the IRS website and there is help there. DH used to use Turbotax and said it was more work than doing it in pencil! It makes me crosseyed to even think about it.

9kitty, bean soup sounded tasty! I'm making chicken enchiladas tonight, double batch so I can freeze half. Leftover rotisserie chicken, easy to make, good for a lazy day.
I did vacuum up all Sammi's happy dance cat litter from the laundry room floor. He thinks every time I go in the kitchen it's time to eat so he runs around screaming FOOD FOOD FOOD! until I take his bowl down and give him some. I can't leave it on the floor because Souky will get into it and we are not going down that road again.

Dcat, I just finished the Nanny Diaries. It was very well written, a collaboration by two former nannies from New York. If anyone here has ever worked for rich people, you will relate to how they interact with the hired help. I did it one summer....well actually one week. In northern Wisconsin it's almost a rite of passage for a summer job,as many wealthy people have second homes on the lakes and hire locals for help.

Worst job I ever had. Only lasted one week, and quit. They hired me as a mother's helper...so my duties started at dawn, get the little boy (called Ditto so he wouldn't be labeled a junior), dress him, make his breakfast, entertain him while mommy made breakfast for the adults, and their half dozen guests, then clean up the kitchen mess, make all the beds, pick mommy's undies up off the floor, try to snatch a bowl of cereal because the help doesn't eat with the big shots, take the Ditto out to the dock and let him swim or play in the sand until time to help make lunch. For the guests. They ate very well. They evidently thought the help should bring their own food.

Then make lunch for the Ditto. Clean that up. Entertain the Ditto until time for more kitchen duty to help prepare the evening meal. For the guests. Make dinner for the Ditto. Eat a hotdog and beans, while cleaning up their steak platters. Wash the dishes, and clean up the kitchen. Stay out of sight. Put the Ditto to bed. Disappear to the little "maid's room", a 6X8 cell with a 25 watt overhead light to read by, and swat mosquitos until I fell asleep. The Ditto was apparently instructed not to call the help by their name, so I was "girl". I did not answer to "girl".

When they took me home after the first 6 day week (a whole day off, woohoo!) and handed me my pay, for my fourteen hour days, it worked out to about 20 cents an hour. When they said, "We'll pick you up early Monday morning." I said, "No, I have another job. I don't want to work for you". I imagine she had to do it all herself until they found another slave. What awful people. My first outright act of rebellion at the age of 14!! My dad was mad because I quit, but I got a job at the local cafe at minimum wage right away.

Ugh. Now I have to throw out my teflon pans! I have Calphalon Anodized frying pans, so I'm not without tools, and even though the T-fal has held up extremely well, with no scratches or wear, I guess they have to go. Calphalon also has stainless steel available. I haven't heard anything bad about anodized aluminum, but that's probably next.

Glad to hear everyone with the flu bug or other germy ailments are better~ and hope it stays that way. Hello to everyone I haven't addressed individually, I've read all the posts and enjoy hearing about your day(s). It does take a long time to catch up if you miss a day or two!

Later

Hi all,

Just checking in while I wait for the silver I'm working on to finish "pickling" before I go to the next soldering stage. Thanks for the "get to work" order, D'cat. I really don't get a "feeling of accomplishment" from this kind of work, but I DO get a feeling of relief that it's done and out of my way! The bracelet is about 2/3 done and I also re-sized a ring for another customer. I was a bit leary about that job too as I noticed that the ring had previously broken and had been in-expertly soldered back together. I was afraid that it might fall apart at that point as soon as I put the torch on it, but was at least able to point the spot out to the customer before even starting. He accepted the fact that I couldn't guarantee success due to the previous breakage.

Glad to hear that everyone (except Maria) who was ailing seems to be well or at least heading in that direction.

I sympathize with all who are longing for Spring and tired of the drearies, but I'm not ready! Spring means gardening work that I can't even think about at this point --- too much on my plate already. My poor garden never got its Fall tilling and is looking dreadful and the greenhouse is only half there at the moment. We haven't had time to try to put it together again (last time we had a bit of free time it was pouring out there).

Very glad to see you again Robert! I think you are right about the kitchen re-do idea. You really had better not do it without consulting your "other half" if you value your hide! I get the feeling that you are the main cook, but I'm sure she'd still want to be in on any planned changes.

DH has tried his hand at baking today. It's a good thing (maybe) that I was home too because it seemed that every 5 minutes I was getting an SOS from the kitchen, ie, "We don't have a mixing bowl!" My answer --"What? Of course we do. Those big round stainless and ceramic things in the cupboard are mixing bowls." Turns out he meant an electric mixer. I seldom use the thing, but we do have an antique one of my mother's. I dragged that out for him and went back to my workbench only to be summoned again because he couldn't find the on switch, then didn't know how to make the bowl rotate, etc., etc., etc. In the end, he did manage to make a more than passable apple cake. Now he's strutting about being proud of himself.

Please keep the pet pics coming. They're all adorable. FC. glad you took in the new kitty and that he's already starting to fit in.

Got to get back to work and DH wants to check his e-mail. See you later.

Can not sit for lomg my bottom is killing me, has all day. Went to the mrket tryiong to lift my right leg into thr car for a torture. I think I am keeping the vacuum too busy but have to or I would choke in Samason's shhedding hair.

Elaine, I will get back to you on D-mail soon.

Sarv, I don't know much about Calghalon but heard it is good, it is not like
teflon, my pots and pans are All-Clad, they are stainless and very easy to take care off. All-Clad has anodized ware also the LDT, it suppose to be very good..

Robert, I feel for you with all that miserable rain you have up there in the NW. How dreary it must be, we have rain today also, so far the winter in NE has been very mild at least in my part, but have to tell you I rather have snow then rain and ice. Snow makes everything look beautuful and the sun usually comes right up after the storm and stays for quite a few days with crisp, clear air.

DR, I am smiling at this Turbo tax, what ever it is, lol I do not know anything bout taxes, an accountant has to do it for me and most of the time I don't even know what she is trying to tell me, I am such an ignoramunus when it comes to taxes.

FC. I have had this problem with sciatica now for over year, thought it stopped a couple of weeks ago now it is back with a vengance

Susan, your husband reminds me of how mine was, so very sweet and considerate all the time. Miss him.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

McCool, hi, we posted at the same time. Now is this not nice, your husband made a cake, lol, that is something mine never attempted though he was good at all other kind of cooking

Clinton, IN(Zone 5b)

Sorry everybody, but I'm going to try to turn in early for the night. I think the kindergartners really did me in today, so maybe I can get some sleep tonight before I do it all again tomorrow. I'll talk to you all later.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

came in twice, sorry

PS for McCool (and others from that part of the country) have you seen the new thread on NE gardening?

Hi all
Well, I *really* got a chuckle, McCool, at your discription of your DH in the kitchen. LOL LOL Now mine is quite a good cook, but my it just *kills* me when I find the recipe, chop everything up and he stirs it. Then when it's done ... it's always "we really did a good job, didn't we." I always just smile and say "yes, honey" as I'm washing the dishes. LOL I can just see him strutting around.

Maria, I'll be checking. Don't worry. :)

Flower, those kids are sure cute at that age, but they can take the starch out of ya, can't they. ;)

Sarv, I know what you mean about the $$ for the taxes. I really need to talk to the DH about doing ours, also. Hey, am I missing something? Are you 50 today? I really need to keep up with the birthdays better. Happy birthday if I've overlooked it. :)

Well, guess I'll go get a bath and get comfy. Hi to Susan, Kelly, M5, Mary, and Ann if you get to check in. Robert, good to see you for a change. I, too, vote for asking the DW her opinion on the kitchen project. However, if she doesn't want hers done ... just come on way down south ... I'd love to have mine done. LOL LOL Oh, I forgot to say hi to Babs, both Carols and Defoe. I really shouldn't go calling names cause this group has gotten *way* too big. Hi to anyone else I've missed.

This is my 3rd attempt to post, they keep getting lost and I have very slow connection speeds for some strange reason today, so have not had much success with the computer.

Elaine, I did receive several awards at the regional convention, but will not get any at the national one. The rides I go to all year are competative events where I can earn a daily completion award, plus points and mileage that add up over the season for year end awards. When I ride around home it is just to get the horse in condition for the events, and I get no credit for those rides, only for the organized events. On another site I have written all about what I do and an accounting of my adventures for the season, but I don't know how to link you to it.

Robert, it is good to see you back here, don't wait so long to come back. I agree, it would not be a good idea to remodel the kitchen without consulting your wife. If you did that you might not live to post on Coffee and...... again, and we would miss you and all the cyber goodies you put together. How about some progress pictures of your carving project?

I don't remember what else I was going to say, feeling a bit sleep deprived, but I might be a bit sharper tomorrow. Goodnight, sleep well, wake up smiling.

Hi everyone, just making a quick appearance.

Well, tomorrow is the first day of physical therapy. Looking forward to getting started and not. LOL

Supposed to be passive motion therapy at first, which I think means I am so calm and relaxed and the therapist moves things. The key here is calm and relaxed. LOL

I wanted Manwiches for dinner and had the ground turkey and onions almost done and couldn't find the can. sheesh, so we pulled out a hamburger helper taco flavor. It was OK, but I wanted a Manwich. Wah wah

Got lots listed on ebay today and even sold $90 worth. That hasn't happened in ages and probably won't happen again soon either. Where is my positive attitude? hummmmm let's see

See you all tomorrow, my pt is at 4pm so I will probably wait to post after that.

Hey everybody, didn't get back, but did accomplish a lot today. Went to DM's and put her kitchen back together, hanging all the stuff on the walls, fixed her medicine for another week, and then went to the post office, library, and stopped by grocery to pick up a few items. Home, to tackle the paper monsters that had collected on my desk. Took me about 2 hours, but waded through my bills, DM's bills, and DMIL's bills, plus balanced several check books. Took a break about 3:00, and then to the kitchen to prep for supper. Tonight, fixed DH rabbit, with chicken for me. Tomorrow is the closing day for rabbit season, so he has a big hunt planned. Don't know what he will get into after tomorrow, wish it was some handyman stuff, but will have to wait and see. After supper, I started about 20 day lily seeds that had been soaking in peroxide and water for about 2 weeks. Some had sprouts, others, had none. Some were not soaked, so just doing a little experiment with them. Read an entire book tonight, was a small one, but so good.

Mary, glad that you had a good weekend, sounds like Amanda Panda did not get the "quality" of love that you usually give. I'm sure they are glad you are home. Glad to know that they did miss you in your absence.

Bal, IT IS SO GREAT TO SEE YOU AGAIN. Come on out of that weather funk, and visit us again. Kitchen re-do, yep, calls for a consult with DW before that happens. Sorry about the fur kids tussels, they will soon sort it out, break it up only when you see blood.

101 Good to hear that you have mastered the reading. Don't worry about me feeling slighted when not mentioned, I pay no heed to that.

Kittymom, you just keep that DH working, think of all the nice preparations he is making for the garden. Gosh, the bean soup sounds wonderful.

Sarv, you have just received the title Queen of Weird Breakfasts. It doesn't sound non nutritious, just not my thing early in the morning. Who's 50th is it? I still have to have an accountant, because of the rental property.

FC, I am not creative with names, hope somebody can come up with an appropriate name for your newby.

DR, Hi,

Meezer, Your first job sounds like they snatched you off the slave boat. Jeez, I would rather dig trenches than do something like that. The diner sounds way too much better. Those enchelidas sound good, care to share the recipe?

McCool, now that I got you in gear, take the 2x4 to me and get me going for tomorrow. My DH cooking is more work for me, as I hear "I can't find" and "could you look at this" way more times than I need to.

Maria, so sorry that you are again in pain, have you called the Chiropractor? Maybe another ajustment is in order. Have you tried those pain patch things? DH swears by them. Just put a "Icy Hot" patch on his back for him.

Morningayle, Hi to you, know how it is to try to "catch up". Just hang in there.

Well, I am off to check more forums before bed, I think Dave is just trying to kill us with exhaustion by adding all the other forums. Maybe his goal is to reduce the membership? Naw.

Well hope all have a good night. May check in later, don't know.

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Defoe, just so you are aware that the half hour a day is in the winter also if you have an in ground pool. Being outside in 40 degree weather playing with colder water is a pain is the arse. With an above ground you can empty and winterize it.

GG, everytime a situation occurs that I get myself stressed out I just remember that I am doing this to pay for the mortgage on my dream in SC and it makes it worth while. I just have a hard time understanding how parents can raise kids the way some of these kids have been raised.

Mary the big move is planned for January of 2007. I will be taking a trip back to drive a load during late June of this year. I own so much stuff that I need to clear some of it out to make this house look more spacious for it to go on the market.

Suzie, yes the shooting, stabbing and the Over dose were all at my school. I work at a behavioral school for students in 6th-12th grade. All of these students are sent to the school through the court system for violations while on school property at their home school. Most of them are drug/behavior related but we do have a few that are gang related. Most of the time the courts are pretty good about separating the kids that are involved in any gang related issues. The shooting was over a girl. The stabbing was over a boy. The worst was the over dose girl was only 13 years old. She is due to be released from the hospital tomorrow and will be placed in a mental facility for an additional 72 for watch purposes, then back home and school.
I will still be here in September so be sure to let me know when you and the friends are coming in. Great time of year to visit, the heat has died down alot but it is still nice in the evenings for walking the strip.

Bal, so good to hear from you. If my DH tried to redo my kitchen without my knowledge I would in turn redo his garage without his knowledge. I do need more room for my sewing stuff and there is a nice corner I could use to store some other things. I think you might be on to something there.....HMMMMMM.....

Well I better get my butt off this computer and into bed, lord knows I need both the beauty sleep and the rest to help deal with the devils offspring tomorrow.

Casey
