Flower Seed RR???? Anyone game??

No Marigolds, veggies or unknown! Only God's pretty flowers! Opps!, marigolds are God's pretty flowers, but they Stink!! Let's see if we can find some pink, yellow, blue and coral colored flowers. I will give 5 days for sign up if you want to play. TODAY is July 10, 2001 (No joke, we're really half way to Christmas!) Everyone is more than welcome to play.

Gwydion, for now, just be thinking of what seeds you have and be letting them dry. You can even be working up some seed packets. That's mostly what everyone except the starter of the RR has to do:) (I think!!!! :)

Ha, this is Cine's first time to start a RR!!!! SO I need all the HELP I can get. I only have MicheleN's addy so everyone else just email your addy. Count me in I am drying and packing my seeds as we speak.

Gwydion, I dry seeds in pop and veggies trays till dry, I then put them in very small manilla envelopes.
I write what's inside and put my email address on back. I like getting seeds this way as well, because if I have any questions I can email the person.
Example:

Marigolds (BIG YELLOW ONES)Just for Cine

Great for cut flowers ( for Cine's house )

I hope this helps, Plastic is okay only if the seeds are 100% dry,I have had too many trades with moldy wet seeds in plastic,which is a bummer.Mainly form other sites than Dave's.
No I am not trying to hurt anyone's feelings but a wet seed is a useless seed. And no I am not an Expert,I have made mistakes myself, imagine that.

Is the order you use relevant to the planting zone? (i.e. will I send to someone in a zone close to mine so the plants will winter well?)

Can you ask the person you're sending to if they have a preference or is it a surprise package? THIS ONE IS A SUPRISE FOR THE FLOWERS OF CERTAIN COLORS!! They are at the top.

are you listing the recipients by order of response? Or are you listing them by location?

It would be great if you would include emails on the list... (its nice to let the next person know its on its way to them)

I could list the emails IF everyone is okay with that. I did have one however that said she was relieved that I would not include the email addresses. I still have not heard from nichole_in_nc unless you've given me a different
email address that doesn't have that in the address. I am waiting on a few more that have said they want in on this.

Doris, you're daughter still has not emailed me, if you want to send her name/addy go ahead.

I plan on just sending the pkg East to West, and up thru Canada, since there are 3 there.

that's what we have going now, we're still at the first few on each list. I didn't put any restrictions except that they be flowers. Everyone so far seems to be happy with the selection. (at least that's what they're saying:)

I don't think I really understand how all this works either but I hope to join the next one. I'm deadheading marigolds like crazy now so I will have plenty of them. French as well as the orange and yellow. Apologies for not using the proper (latin) name. Also, I'll have zillions of cleome seeds in about a month. I had 10 plants last year, saved the seeds, re-seeded them this year and have at least 40 feet of them along my fence row backing up my garden. Looking forward to the next posting for round robin??? vic

Oh, are the little balls on the crepe mertle tree, after the flower is gone, the seeds? And what if a limb gets broken and it's loaded with those little balls, are they still good when the limb is all dried up?

those are the seeds, can't tell you if they're ripe at the point you're talking about. I'll look and see if I can find a picture of them. You need to close the door to this thing when you're ready:), if you leave it open, new people won't know.

Cine... just wanted to let you know... about the crepe myrtle seeds... the pods (the balls you were speaking of) open when the seeds are ready to harvest. So if the pods on the broken limb are beginning to open, they should be good.

I don't have crepe mertle trees. I STOLE this broken branch for the Wal-Mart parking lot. They are white flowers though I know that. The little balls on it are brown like the flower had already been wasted. In fact there were several flowers on it.
