Nigerian money scams

Alexandria, IN(Zone 6a)

Has anyone else received e-mail letters offering a share of an inheritance worth millions? The letter is often by a barrister [alledgely] saying they need help getting a large sum out of a bank account.

I got so many of these offers [hundreds of millions] that I blocked the senders and rarely get them now.
One man even "showed me the money".

They want a bank account number and your access code. Don't give that to anybody.Guess what they really do with that information. "Show me the Money" by sending it to my street address. If a check clears, then we can talk.

hey Frankay I did the same thing but you know I never got the money. HAHA

One of the ways they get your email address is browsing online guest books. There are also a lot of folks who intentionally "bait" the scammers to waste their time. I did it a few times and got some pretty Nigerian women to send pictures to me,"Mr. Phelps". Of course it was to a hotmail address not my real one.

Our DD says she gets a lot of them. She has notified all family members to stay away from that city/country because of all the deaths of people with that name in that place. LOL.

Hi folks...

Frankay hinted that he might be tempted if they 'show him the money', so i wanted to bring another type of email / chatroom scam to your attention. I'ts where they REALLY DO send you the money. The scam goes something like the following:

The scammer is looking for someone to deposit checks for him, as he has a problem with his bank... You get to keep some percentage, and send the rest back to him via Western Union. Sounds simple right? Here's the scam --- The checks are stolen and it gets traced to your account!!!

Anyways, I would recommend to You to visit http://www.snopes.com and read through the many types of money scams, so as to be aware of what is out there.

I wanted to share this site (link below) because it is hilarious. These people scam the scammers! Make sure to visit the Trophy Room and the Hall of Shame. You'll be ROFL.

And I just opened an "official notice" from Clearwater, Fl. saying I needed to call about my $2,100,000.00 on this toll free number....something [vague] about a Sweepstakes.

Ladybug, that's where I first learned about "baiting" the scammers and began my transformation to Mr. Phelps. I just wish I was better at Photo Shop for faking passports etc.(I did do a passport with my cat as the owner.) It was a lot of fun playing with the "mugu guy man" though.
Indy, isn't it amazing how lucky we can be with out even trying lol.
