Welcome to the NE Gardening forum!
Nice..mine should be coming up around the same time as Andy!
Hi there;
New to DG but not to gardening in the NE. Cannot wait for the "good" weather as I started cleanup and I mean only Just getting started. My Gardening OCD is kicking in and I need to do something more than watching my WS and other seed grow by the hour. I just know I'm gonna love this forum!
Welcome Joy! There are lots of knowledgeable & helpful folks around and more than a few silly people too (like me). Hope you enjoy it here as much as I have.
Dave
Hi everyone! New to this website and first time reply! yay. Here from Rhode Island!!! Another yay! Love to garden.
Michelle
Hello all,
This is our fourth year of gardening here in south central Maine. We moved here from the St. Louis area to stay with our daughter, son-in-law and now with our little 2½ year old grandaughter, who has a little garden of her own. She wants to grow strawberries this year because she loves to eat them.

Michelle, My mom lives off of Rt 44 in Johnston, and I'm up there often to see her and my Gramma.
We'll have to get together sometime and go plant shopping up there! YEAH BABY I said plant shopping! : )

Welcome to our Gang!!!! and we can certainly be a bunch of rascals!!! hahaha
Hello All,
I guess technically I'm not in the NE but your zones are like mine, so...Here I am! (I'm in a very small pocket in MI that is actually Zone 6.)
I look forward to picking your brains for info as I'm fairly new to gardening. Well, I should say , I'm new to actually planting, but I have been planning my gardens for about 10 years. It's just that now I have a place to bring a real garden to life!
Happy Gardening Everyone!!
Ness ;-D
Welcome, Ness.
You must be on the south side of the lake!
Don't be shy to ask questions or give opinions/advice.

Hello Ness & Welcome!
Welcome aboard Ness!!
Ok, I'm seeing everyone on the east coast. Is the very western end of NY allowed? I've been hanging around for a couple of days, so you probably can't get rid of me anyway :-)
Grampapa, You are definitely welcome! We even have folks from OH,MI & WI. Not sure about the name though. You sound a little confused!
Dave
Thank you very much for the warm welcome!
Ness;-)

Another welcome from Long Island Grandpapa!
Thanks for the welcome. I'm the gram half of grampapa. Probably should have used a different screen name. My dh (the papa half) and I have been using this name since my youngest granddaughter, now 12, learned to talk. this is what she always called us. as if we were one person.
Nessiegirl and grampapa - welcome from AYankeeCat in Bridgeport, CT. I'm neither a yankee (Native Californian) nor a cat - so what is more confusing than that? My college roomates daughter called her Father "PaPa" and when someone asked her about her "Daddy" she thought it referred to either of her parents!
Thank you Yankee.
And grampapa- that is about the most endearing thing I have ever heard. How adorable!
Ness;-D
I'm in zone 4b or 5a - right on the border as I get down to about -20 F give or take a degree or 2. I'm north of Concord, NH, in the Merrimack River valley, so we have later frosts both spring and fall than the area around us due to the closeness of the river. I've been gardening in one form or another for about 35 years.
Howdy Nessiegirl, Grampapa, and NHbabs! Welcome.
Hi NHBabs, Welcome.
I'm originally from Manchester.
Andy P
I love grampapa!
NHBabs - all I have to say is Brr-rr-rr-rr-rr-rr. You'll be warm in this group - welcome.
this is a wonderful site; lots of information and a comfortable friendly feel to it. the rose forum is especially helpful for me. amherst, ma is cold and soggy today
Hi Ness and grampapa,
I just have to comment here, grampapa, I know just what you mean. While in college and just after I'd dropped out I lived with a roommate. We were collectively known as "Bettyandelaine" ---- at least the youngest of our neighbors seemed to apply that term to both or either of us.
Hi, McCool. I really love your name. And 'loveslilacs' is a great one, too. How could you not love lilacs! Cold and soggy in western NY today, too, loveslilacs. And after such a hot & sunny Memorial Day weekend. The best I can remember.
AYankeeCat...you said you were not a yankee, nor a cat. If it's not an invasion of your screen privacy, can you give us a clue where the name comes from? Sometimes I wish I had thought of a clever gardening name, but grampapa I am, and grampapa I will remain.
It is actually my eBay and Amazon seller ID. I needed a name - so I looked around and saw my cat Holly, who was born in Connecticut - so she is a yankee cat. I put the three words together without spaces because that is easier on the internet. (I don't sell anything garden oriented on eBay or Amazon - but I buy an awful lot of plants from eBay sellers!) Hm-m-m. I wonder how Dave picked his screen name? :)>
I imagine you mean THE DAVE, not me. I guess neither of us are all that creative.
Dave (NOT DAVE)
There are a few here from Jersey! I've also lived in CT, RI, NY and PA amongst others. Hello all. Andrea
Hi, Andrea. Nice to meet you.
Hey Andrea - I guess you sang alot of .."On the road again..."
Welcome to our group!
Hi everyone.
Ivy, I used to live in Westerly
I worked at Foxwoods for about 5 years as a cocktail waitress. Used to go to Trader Jacks all the time. I had friends in Mystic. I loved that town.
Thankyou for the Welcome!
Hello my gypsyrose!! what fun to have spent 5 years as a cocktail waitress at Foxwoods. I've never been there, but it sounds good. Still wet and soggy here in western mass ( my jack in the pulpits ( jacks in the pulpit ? ) are drowning.
Hey, maybe I know you, mygypsyrose!
I am losing it with this rain I think I have rain rage....
