Good Morning All,
Here's the daily con't from
http://davesgarden.com/place/t/571315/

Hope everyone has a good day,
Kelly

Hi all.
Well, I guess everyone has gone to bed but me. I've gotten so behind today with this aggravating keyboard! Think I'm going to take the sucker back. I think it has a problem. I can't keep powering down every time it decides to stick. Sorry ... y'all don't want to hear me fuss about that.

Defoe, so sorry to hear about your tooth problems. I absolutely hate the dentist. Am sending much sympathy to you and Maria. I have the kindest dentist in the whole wide world ... but for some reason I just get all up tight when I have to go.

Everyone seems to be on a roll with the baby pics. LOL Will have to try to find another of my girl. I have a cute one of her on her new bed she got for Christmas somewhere.

Mary, my Grandparents had a farm and raised hogs and cows. That's the same technique they use for corraling them, also. I especially remember them vaccinating them and also trying to get them on the back of those trucks to take to market. What a sight that was. LOL

Susan, sounds like you're really feeling better, but I'm going to jump in with the gang at the risk of sounding like a broken record and add you sure better be careful!

OZ, might know you'd take that stance. LOL LOL Just like a man. :)

Well, it's late and I'm tired of fighting with this thing. Forgive me ... I'm going to bed.
Hugs all way round. ... Elaine

Good morning everyone : This morning I am real early could not sleep , hubby had the TV on all night any idea how to break him from falling asleep in front of the TV. and not wanting to move . If anyone has a solution let me know I try anything at this point , short of shooting the TV, ooopps I dont have a gun , plus I wouldn 't know how to use one anyway...Very short on sleep today this should make it an interesting day specialy when I have to travel...and have company this evening.....husbands!!!!

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Orchidfancy, the only solution I know is to go to another bed room. Unless, you can stay awake longer, and turn it off after he dozes off. I slept for about 5 hours, then woke up with arm arching again. Have taken some tylenol, but don't think that is going to help enough or fast enough to go back to bed. Besides I have a gazillion things to do, so I will get started on them.

Where are you traveling to, and what kind of company are you having tonight? I am not having company, but DH volunteered my services to make hush puppies at a fish fry tomorrow night, and didn't even find out how many people they are expecting!! So don't know whether to make 3 dozen or 33 dozen.

Well, going to get started on some work, hope your day goes better than it has started.

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Good Morning - just finished a half a tuna sandwich with cranberries- yum. I spent more time awake last night than in slumber. I would just nod off and then have a tremendous hot flash. This happened all night long - and has for the past 4 days. I don't know what is up!! But it sure is making me sleep deprived!! This is crazy - I am fine all day long, in fact chilled sometime. But the minute I hit the pillow the sweats come...

Orchid- leave the DH in front of the TV - a few nights of a crooked neck will make him want to come to bed. I always fall asleep with the tv on - DH turns it off when he goes to bed - I wake up and turn the radio on then!! We've had seperate beds for years - best thing we've ever done!! He whines about it occassionally, and I tell him I'd be glad to visit his bed, but that HE has to leave when the snoring starts - shuts him up pronto!!

Mary - loved the story about the cows - they sure are determined!! Can you imagine lugging all that weight over a high fence!!

Defoe/Maria - I hear ya on the tooth situation. My biggest nightmare is going to the dentist- that's why I got the xanax!! It does take the edge off and I can make it thru the visit, but I still am uncomfortable... Can you imagine being in a job where people hate to come to visit you!

Darius- hooray for the brug flowering!! I was moving one of my brugs that was dormant and a 8 in piece broke off. I stuck it in some soil and bagged it up and low and behold, I have sprouts starting!! Pure luck I think!

We're supposed to have heavy showers tomorrow- there goes all the snow!! Poor ski slopes have really suffered in this area this year. We've had almost 40 days with temps above normal. Kohls even advertised a spring clothes sale this morning!! I still don't have my winter boots!

Well, time to try to rearrange the wild hair, get my workout clothes on and think about huffing and puffing. I hopped on the scale last night and was aghast at the weight...how does this happen? Now I have 25 lbs that I need to lose...

Take care everyone (especially that shoulder Suz)

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Lots of early risers today....or poor sleepers is more like it! Looks to be a sunny day here, I see a rosy horizon over to my left out the front windows. Most of our snow is gone already. We are sure to get hit with a big one before long, this can't last.

GG, Eddie is adorable, and Mooshka is beautiful! I love big dogs, just don't want to have one. I get my puppy fixes at my DD's and that works for me. LOL about the not getting cellulitis in the garden, I was just concerned that it might work like the garden woes and as soon as I learn a new disease, it will come visit me.... Sammi was getting too wild, so I put him in the carrier to give him a chance to calm down. He's like a two year old, gets too wound up to stop. After he cried pitifully for a few minutes I let him out and he promptly took a much needed nap.

He's fine today, he just had upper respiratory symptoms, and my DD demanded I take him in for testing. The breeder I got him from lets her pets outside and there's always a chance of them picking up one of the nasty feline viruses and passing them on. With two other cats in the house I wasn't taking any chances. So, he got some eyedrops and his distemper shot, and I'm out another c-note and my checkbook is gasping for a transfusion.

Darius, that brug is gorgeous. Too bad our zone 5 won't support them, I'd love to have them. Oh well, we have this lovely cold weather instead. Say hi to Pattischell for all of us in coffee, and take some pictures so we can enjoy the warmth vicariously! And enjoy your visit with your aunt. The break from building will be good for you.

Dcat, I hate to think of the money that went down the drain when they took out my upper teeth, gold fillings, bridge work, yikes! I don't much enjoy visits to the dentist either, but have finally gotten to the stage where I dont break out in a cold sweat anymore. I hope you can find a pricier steak than the $20 one, she's getting off cheap at that price! Get a really big one and ask for a doggie bag!

Regarding your cat, if she hasn't been a big water drinker in the past, I'd be inclined to have her blood tested for diabetes. That's one of the symptoms for cats as well as humans. and usually can be managed fairly well. Or it may be that your house is very dry due to winter heating, and she's just thirsty. Keep an eye on her.

Maria, I had looked into the dental implants before I went for the full extraction, and decided I didn't want to be in debt for the rest of my life. Plus, unless your dentist has done many of them, the results aren't always what you would like. A very costly approach, best done for the young and affluent....not us!

Oz, can we have your wife's email addy so the next time you have an ailment we can forward your recommendation about the duct tape? It sounds like a fine remedy for wayward husbands and smart alecs.

9kitty, what are spoon tomatoes? Never have seen them. I usually put in one or two of the miniature plum tomatoes, smaller than the cherry tomatos, and they come in yellow and red, very sweet and you get hundreds on a single plant. When I pick them, an equal number go in my mouth as go in the container. They produce for a long time, too.

Jasmerr, if I saw a bull coming at me I'd be over a 6 foot fence in a hurry! When we were kids , we thought it was great fun to go to a neighbor's pasture and see if we could get the bull to chase us. Lucky he didn't think much of it and we never got him to do more than take a short run before we scrambled for the other side of the fence. Must have been a lazy bull.

I01, I would take that keyboard back. You never know what went wrong in assembling these technical devices, and there's not point in struggling with it. Plus, if it is something you are inadvertantly doing wrong, they will tell you....although I suspect you got a defective board. I had a wireless one once and it screwed up all the time so I chucked it.

Orchid, does your remote have a sleep timer on it? I used to take the remote after DH fell asleep on the couch, and set it for a half hour, and then go to bed. By that time, he was too deep in sleep to say "I'm watching that", and I got to sleep without the tv noise from the living room. I used to wake him up but finally just left him there. Told him if he didn't have sense enough to go to bed, that was his problem.

Sarv, I have the same schedule for heat waves that you do....I'm usually fine all day but when I go to bed, it's covers on and covers off, covers on, covers off....it's really annoying. I saw some pjs advertised specifically for "hot flashers" but you cannot believe how expensive they were! Made of some special fabric that was supposed to breathe and wick the sweat away from your body. Ya, right. And then wash them every day, I can imagine how long they would last.

Have a good day everyone. I'm going to check the movie schedule and see if there's anything worth $3.25. I saw Brokeback Mountain but wasn't impressed all that much.

Sarv, you are soooo funny about DH, I went throught he same thing, he would lie there like king tut with his hands above his head, snorring away lol I just gave him a shove and he stopped, he also had this awful restless leg syndrome all his life waking me up every other thing but I ndver wanted to go to another bed I could not have slept there at all.

Meezer, you are so right about dental implants too expensive but would do it if I were much younger even if I had to pay for the rest of my life. My Sister had it done, she is very happy to have had it,has no problems I think she was then about 65 years old.

I have never been bothered going to the Dentist, I always think some hurt is a mind over matter, especially over dentistry.

Hi to every one else I did not mention,

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

PS meant to mention today is Mozar's 250th birthday, such a genius, all of Austria is celebrating, especially Salzburg that is one of the most beautiful cities in that country, remember 'Sound of Music?'

Are you celebrating with your orchestra, Ann???

Gravois Mills, MO(Zone 6a)

Well ladies have 3 females around here. Wife,Dog and cat. So you see it gives me three choices. Bitten, scratched or cussed at.

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Ozarkian, just hope they don't all gang up on you at once.

Maria, you are right, I don't mind going to the dentist. I want to keep my teeth if possible, and if it takes a little pain to do it, then so be it.

Well, I am tackling my own house today. Have gotten the dusting done and bathrooms cleaned, now ready to vacuum, but first to take a break. I even cleaned off the desk, as it was getting to the point of not being able to find the keyboard!!

Meezer, is feline diabetes age related? Miss Boots is about 8 years old. Could this be why she is shedding so much? I will keep my eye on her and if this continues, will schedule a visit to the vet.

Well, break is over, so back to the dust bunnies.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Okay... I'm showered, truck is packed and now I'm off for the weekend. I'll try to check in from my sister's computer, and I should be back here Tuesday.

Everyone have a great weekend!

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Oz, your cat can cuss??? I'm impressed.

Dcat, I guess it's worth watching. If she's due for shots anytime soon, just ask them to check for possible diabetes too. It is age related, but 8 isn't all that old for a cat.

Gravois Mills, MO(Zone 6a)

Messersfive No she can scratch. Dog can bite. Wife can cuss. It is hard to tell who is doing what though if it happens at the same time. It is funny we never had a cat in our life till about 5 months ago. Gilly is really different has changed a lot of my views about cats. The dog barks to get in. Gilly was here about two days watching that dog do that and she started what the wife said sounded like a cat trying to bark like a dog at the door. She also goes for most walks that lady goes on. I do not mean to imply she trys to act like a dog. Lady knows who is the boss the cat doesn't believe in bosses.

Albany, OR(Zone 8a)

Dcat,
I also agree with what M5 says about your kitty.
Starting to drink more water is a sign for diabetics so I would the next time you are at the vet, have them check for it. It can be age related but it is also has to do with being overweight/eating too much too.
Carol

Hi all
Stopping by to see what's going on today. I see everyone is plenty busy.

Hi and bye Darius. Guess you won't see this until you check in at sis's. Stay safe on the road. :) Please tell Pati hi, and give her a hug for me. She sounds like someone I'd like to hug. :)

Defoe, would you like some extra bunnies? hehehe ;) No? what do you mean. Well, if you won't give them a home ... how bout coming and cleaning for me? LOL

Sarv, I see I'm not the only one that suffers from the night hot flashes. I don't have them during the day, either. In fact, I stay cold most of the time ... but you just let me go to bed and I'm on again off again. LOL LOL

Oz, you just close your ears now. I haven't figured out a way to keep the DH from falling asleep. I have threatened separate rooms, but then that's punishing me as well. Figured I've probably got a few things he'd like to reprogram on my end, so I just stopped complaining. Well ... ... sometimes at least. ;)

I found out today that I have my tomatoes too far away from the light source, so I'm hoping they aren't leggy. I also didn't thin them out, so this might just be a learning experience this year. It's so hard to keep up with everything I've read. :-(

Maria, I *do* remember the Sound of Music. My goodness, but that has been a long time ago since I saw that. LOL

Well, I have procrastinated with posting this, so will preview before I send. Hope all is having a good day.
Hi to Carol and again to you Oz. Sounds like you have your hands full with those 3 women. LOL But then, it also sounds like you need them to keep you in line. ;)

M5,
Thank-You,,,we're kind of partial to her,,,LOL

oz,
I'm sure all 3 can do all 3 things,,,LOL,,how do you know who it's coming from???? LOL

Elaine,
I would take the keyboard back also,,,I have a new wireless and don't have Any problems with it.

Darius,
Beautiful flower. Have a good weekend,,,hope things go well with your sister.

Hello to everyone I didn't mention,,,short on time right now. Hope everyone has a good day.

Kelly

Yeah, Kelly. I'm *definitely* taking it back. I had worn my old keyboard out and this one wasn't that much more so thought ... hmmm, I don't have to see the screen ... that would be nice. I find it not to be that much of an advantage, though. Got to be able to hear it. LOL Anyway, it might just be a comflict with the speech and all the extra stuff loaded.

Went to the WM last night. Didn't print out a list. Nope. Told the DH what I needed as we went through the store. Ran into an old friend there and while we were talking she wanted to exchange Email info. Just changed the Book Port over to record and took hers down. It will be real nice to be able to carry my address and phone book with me. :)

Okay, back to my typing.

Mine is a Microsoft Comfort Wireless Keyboard 1.0A it came with a wireless mouse also. It has been great for me.

So many great things the Book Port can do. It sure seems like a wonderful *necessity*

jasmerr,
That is a true statement too. Forgot about that too, for the kitties. But with that, you also get them peeing elsewhere and have blood in their pee too.
I just know that I should have paid attention when my cat was drinking so much water before and maybe could have caught the diabetics earlier. He ended up dying only 3 months later due to not eating anything. Was so sad to go thru and hate for others to have to suffer like I did.

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

I have a diabetic cat, Cali. She must not be very bad because we only have to give her 1 unit of insulin once a day. She still drinks a lot, but seems healthy and is not losing weight now. She was diagnosed two years ago.

At the time she was drinking ALL the time and peeing all the time also. And losing weight, which was why I took her in to begin with. When any of my kitties start losing weight and they are still eating, I get them to the vet asap.

I think diagnosing early, which it would be in your case is much better, because they can get it under control so much easier. You use a teeny tiny needle and give the shot just under the skin on the back of the neck. Cali doesn't even notice it, she thinks it is petting time cause we give her lots of petting before and after we give the shot. So she comes running when we go out to give it to her. LOL

Back from a day shopping! Bought 5 tops for summer!!! Went to Kohl's and I cannot believe how much stuff they have left over - much more than in previous years I think!

Also went to eat at Zoups - anybody been there? They have a zillion kinds of soup and let you sample as many as you'd like. By the time you are done sampling, you're not hungry anymore! I had lobster bisque- very rich and creamy - along with a hard roll - yum.

M5 - you can grow brugs in your zone. How do I know? I have over 30 in an upstairs bedroom. You do have to bring them in from the cold yearly. I have a love/hate relationship with them. They demand a ton of water/fertilizer, but the blooms are outstanding. You should try one...

I just found out that my one armed/stroke cousin is selling the welldrilling business he has - no business. I'm not surprised - he doesn't answer the phone~~sometimes it will ring 20 times while I am cleaning....Hope he still has some cashola, as I refuse to clean without being paid..That sounds cruel, but I have to drive 76 miles and furnish all the cleaning stuff, tote the laundry to his mom etc. And I will not do it for nothing. You know my 'guilt' problem - any bets that I do it for nothing? LOL (at myself)

Aw oz, you have my sympathies- three females to put up with!! Suck it up... I lived with three males... LOL

Maria, I have given DH so many and such hard kicks, that his legs were black and blue- just wasn't worth it anymore. I am much happier in my own digs. While we are on vacation (camping) I am forced to sleep with him - he is in hog heaven and I am a swearing fool by the end of the week.

Happy BD to Mozart!!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Just lol, Sarv

Yes, I'm at my sister's in Kissimee. She's not home from work yet. I was hungry, and only found frozen junk food and an unopened container of cottage cheese dated June 2005 in the refrigerator, plus several other very questionable items. HOW do people live like this?

So, a quick trip to the grocery store for salad stuff and some fruit. At least I'm set for food!

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Hi everyone.

I'm retired! Am I done at the FC? No. I will go in tomorrow for an hour to help out with a small problem that I didn't have time to attend to today. Some of the volunters took me out for lunch and then it was time to get my hair cut; so I didn't get back there.

Haircut - good one, but they used a heavily scented shampoo and I'm going to have to wash it out. I don't usually give them a chance to do that as I generally show up fresh from the shower and freshly shampood after doing Aquafit.

Have opened two windows today as I respond to others' posts. Hopefully I won't lose a nearly finished message like yesterday as I can work back and forth.

Maria, OSO is a part-time orchestra. We DO have a concert in late February but no Mozart. In fact, since we are a BIG orchestra, we rarely do Mozart. The OCO does from time to time though but neither has anything scheduled yet just to celebrate the birthday.

The OSO will, most likely, have programming next season to celebrate the centenery of Shostakovich and in fact has Shostakovich #1 on our next program in February.

I LOVE Salzburg - have been there a couple of times (the first time just before "Sound of Music". Would give it a miss this year. It will be very expensive because of all the hype.

I'm another who doesn't mind going to the dentist. But I started out well with a naturally good bite and the kind of teeth that dentists rave about. When I developed my first fractured molar, I went into a funk and actually sought a second opinion. That was over 20 years ago now and the crowns are up to 6 with 4 root canals. Don't much like those LONG appointments though.

defoe, my cleaning lady will come one more time - next Monday and then I'm on my own. No more regular paycheck though I've been told I should apply for Canada Pension even though I'm not 65. I CAN get it over 60. I haven't paid into it much as a self-employed music teacher most of the time; so I won't get much. In regard to your cat, is it peeing more too? That was the big tip-off that my cat was diabetic - soaked litter boxes and missed litter boxes. I think they got so wet that litter would stick to her paws. I watched her and found that she would put her front paws in and let loose. had to get a deep Rubbermaid tub as a litter box. She had no alternative to jumping in. But we didn't notice her drinking more because she would drink out of the toilet bowl.

Susan, I echo your comments on giving the insulin injection. For the almost two years that we did it - twice a day in our case, the cat always came when we called her. She never winced as long as we didn't get too deep and she much enjoyed the extra attention. The hardest part was for us to arrange to be there twice each day. There were a few people I could, on occasion, get to do it, but giving the cat an injection isn't quite like just feeding it.

Don't believe it, but I seem to have come to the bottom of the list. The shopping sounds good. I look forward to doing some in Rochester next week and the Canadian $ is nice and high at the moment.

More later, probably. wonder how many more have posted while I've been disconnected.

Ann

My night was bad, I can't really figure out why, but when I got up I was so tired and achy. ugh

I had my breakfast and sat down and had ER on tv from 9 to 11am, but went to sleep and incorporated all the ER people into my dream. Was truly bazaar! LOL

Started working on the computer to do the SPCA bookkeeping and worked on that ALL afternoon until 3:30, doing payroll, payroll taxes for January, etc. I still have a bunch of entries to do for all the paperwork the exec dir gave me on Wednesday that she has done and I need to enter. Gotthe payroll done, so I can quit worrying about that. Took so long with my left handed method of operation.

Went way past my tylenol time, so was really hurting by the time I quit. Got the tylenol taken at 4pm so next stop is bedtime which I am dreading again. Night before last was actually decent and so last night I looked forward to going to bed and then it was awful so now I am dreading it again.

Well, I better go figure out what to instruct DH with for dinner. That is also something I dread, but maybe I cam come up with something.

I pigged out on KFC last night and potato salad, it was so good. Had some leftover chicken for lunch. very nice!! LOL

Hi all, dont have much time, but just wanted to pop in and let you know that the house and property are all ours now. Everything went smoothly and we are the new legal owners.

Yahooooo.....

I will be back tonight if I can if not tomorrow to check in on all of you, didn't even have time to check the post from the past couple of days. Hope all is well.

Casey

Yea Casey!!! Soooo happy for you. Now we can all breathe a sigh of relief with you. *sigh* When does the move actually take place?

Susan, I hope that DH fixes you something yummy for supper tonight. I've baked some potatoes for baked potato soup tomorrow. Should I Dmail you a bowl? LOL

Ann, well, you're almost there. I know you'll still be volunteering but it will be different, I'm sure. ;)

Hi Darius, glad to know you made it safe. Don't exactly know how you handle it down there. Y'all sure sound different. LOL

Well, I'll check back in a bit to see what everyone else has been up to.

Congratulations Casey. That is really good news!

Elaine, I AM there, though I am still helping out with a variety of things.

Just cut up a bunch of oranges. I used 3 blood oranges and 4 Seville oranges and 1 lemon. They are soaking in water now. Late tomorrow, I'll add cranberries and sugar and make cranberry-orange marmalade.

Hope you all have a good night.

Good Night All,

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Hi all,

I'm back from another week of working out of town, the last until late March or so. I do hate being away from home.

This trip, I took that trailer back down, picking up some tractor tires in Lakeland on the way for the customer. I traveled on Tuesday and didn't figure on it being a work day so took my time. This was a week of working myself into a plant buying frenzy.

Well geeze, I haven't REALLY bought any for 4 months, what with the move and all. I found a nice little nursery just south of Lakeland. I had to drive around the blocks until I could get back to it and pull the van and trailer in straight away. (I do not back up trailers)

When I got to LaBelle I wasn't done, I went looking for a nursery there and found an ACE hardware with a garden dept. Then Wednesday morning I had to go to town for supplies and found that place with the cat. I went back there this morning and found the owner and the cat and a few plants. Well, on the way home I found 2 more nurserys. A 3 1/2 hour trip took me 6 hours today.

Night/hot flashes: I am happy to say I am at the tail end of that trip. IO1, I wish mine had been as simple as yours. The worst is over tho and now only suffer from occasional warm moments.

Orchid, during my last relationship, he refused to have a TV in the bedroom. I put one in the adjoining sitting room and he refused to hook the satellite up to it and whenever we got a new TV he would throw away the rabbit ears so I wouldn't snatch them for my TV. And when he fell asleep in the family room watching TV, I left him there. Sarv, separate bedrooms is a great idea, his is in Ft Lauderdale and mine is here. (heeheehee)

Okay, I'll go bother someone else now........

Molly
:^)))))

Here's the plants, the property is so barren right now, I really needed to get some color. Oh yes, I also brought home an oak veneered vanity with a solid slab sink top and fixtures and a small chest freezer.

Hi all,

I've been reading all the posts, but couldn't quite get it together enough to post myself.

D'cat, another reason for cats drinking a lot (and swamping the litter box) is kidney disease, but that one usually IS age related and your cat isn't all that old. It's usually one of the first things the vets around here ask about at the yearly check-ups, along with "any coughing or sneezing?". My mother's cat had kidney disease and one of ours has developed it as well, but she's about 16 years old.

Casey, so glad that the gods of house-buying have smiled upon you this time around! Congratulations.

Darius, hope things go well at your sister's this time (despite the abyssmal food supplies).

101, you might try to help those tomato plants out by putting them closer to the light source, but in general even when we have a bad year for tomatoes, I usually end up with more than I know what to do with. (I know, I know, I should be canning them, but at best some get made into sauce or just peeled and frozen).

My sympathy and empathy for all those experiencing sleepless or near sleepness nights and the night sweats. I often have trouble with the first and thought that I was all through with the second. I often have to throw all the blankets off in the middle of the night but am not sure if it's me or if my mother (who is nearly 80 and on blood thinners) is just leaving the thermostat set higher than I like at night. She sleeps downstairs and we sleep upstairs so we may be getting an extra share of the heat as it rises.

Congratulations on your retirement, Ann! I hope you'll now be able to schedule in some of the things that you've always wished you had time to do.

I think I'd best ask for the 2 x 4 for myself. It may be the only way that I can force myself to finish the jewelry repairs on my workbench. This is the sheer drudgery part of making jewelry! I've been avoiding it too long though and just have to get it out of the way. Hopefully there will also be time (and somewhat cooperative weather) this weekend to put my pitiful greenhouse back together again.

Enjoyed everyone's pet pics. I should ask DH to try taking a few of the cats. My camera usually resides at my store so it's not available for such purposes.

Guess I'd best get going. We didn't get out of the store until nearly 9 PM tonight and I still have to get some tax documents filled out and ready to mail tomorrow morning. Goodnight!

From looking at this thread I'm assuming that you all are night owls?? If so, I'll probably be spending alot of time talking with you. I'm brand new, just subscribed today and very happy to meet everyone!

Welcome Flowerchild,

Suprisingly, you may find some of the nite owls are also the early birds here.

Some will stay up late just to beat Sarv getting here first.

Actually, I get up earlier than Sarv, but you don't want to hear me talk before I've had that first cuppa.

I'm baaaaack! And no I haven't been cleaning all this time. I had several but first moments today, so it sort of demolished my schedule. 101, I didn't say no to cleaning for you, I'm just taking my time thinking about it!!
Got my whole house cleaned, 3 loads of laundry done, changed our bed, all this accomplished before1:00. DSIL called and asked me to call DMIL's Dr, and ask about medication. Well I called at 10:00, and they were supposed to call back, so waited by the phone all afternoon, and they still didn't call. I am going to be on the phone first thing in the morning, and I probably won't be too nice. DH went rabbit hunting with a friend today. Brought home 2 bunnies. The season closes on Tuesday, so I don't know what he will do after that.

Thanks all for the info about kitty diabetes and kidney disease. I haven't noticed her going to the bathroom any more. She isn't loosing weight, but is not eating as well as she once was. She is an inside/outside type. She just went out, and may stay out all night. I will be keeping a closer watch on her, and will be in touch with the vet, if anything else seems amiss.

VA how great, retired now. Now just take this first week to decide what it is you want to do. I know you have a trip planned, but after that what.

Casey, how GREAT!! Owner of a farm in Carolina, N or S? Forgot, anyway, how good that must make you feel. Now you can sit back and plan all sorts of improvements, and plantings that you will be doing.

Kittymom, sorry that you didn't do as well last night. Just try it again tonight, it may be that you have been away from the bed for so long that you are going to have to train yourself all over again to be comfortable there. And doing computer work, I think that you are on the mend. However, don't give up the help in the kitchen too soon. Wink, Wink!!

Darius, how horrible a find in that refrigerator. Don't know how some folks survive, frozen junk, and no fruits or veggies. Hope you have a good visit. Molly and Jeremy will surely miss you.

Meezer, did you find a movie that you wanted to spend the $$ on? I haven't seen a movie in ages.

Sarv, that soup restaurant sounds really good to me. I probably could eat there every day.

101 was it you who is making the baked potato soup. Okay, I have to have that recipe now. Sounds really good.

McCool, I find that putting things off, is more trouble than it is worth. I go ahead and tackle those "hated jobs" first now, instead of dreading them for days. Same way we tackled DM's kitchen, start at the hardest place in the room, and then we enjoyed the easier parts.

Molly, looks like you got a good haul of plants. Was the cat friendlier this time around? Post a pic of that piece of furniture, sounds really pretty. And a chest freezer, planning on a big veggie garden harvest? I do it every year.

And to all who are having the thermostat problems, I thought that issue was all settled, until just the last couple of weeks. I sit here and type at night in gown and robe, and usually have to shed the robe for a period of time to cool down, and no the robe isn't too heavy. Seems like I have that problem at night too. Don't notice it much during the day. When D sis and I were working at DM's the other day, went in started working, and immediately turned the thermostat down. Brought DM a sweater and said "deal with it" we can't work in a house this warm. By day's end, she was glad that we were leaving so she could have heat again. She is on blood thinnner too, so I know that those of you who have elderly parents in your home, one or the other is bound to be uncomfortable.

I am hosting a birthday dinner for DM, not this Sunday but the following, and will caution DM to bring a sweater with her. Yes, it seems that I am the designated hostess for any and all family celebrations. I view that as a statement that I am a good cook/hostess, or the others are just lazier than I.

Well to those I didn't address, not anything personal, just can't remember everything. I am off to check some other threads, and then off to bed. Hope that sleep/rest will be better than the past 2 nights. Arms, shoulders are hurting, along with my mouth. So hope everyone has a good night.

Welcome Flowerchild. Just check in, someone always has a sleepless night, and posts are made periodically during the night. We have people recouping from surgery who are not sleeping well, and various others, who has that occiasional sleepless night. Me for the last 2 nights. So just stay tuned.

My husband just started working nights at the beginning of the year and I'm having a hard time sleeping without him here. I'm usually up til about 3 am and it's good to have some company.

Hi Flowerchild. so glad to have someone new at the table. Just come on in and find a chair. we usually have some excellent cyber goodies on the counter. I'm not much of a baker myself, but try to keep a fresh pot of coffee on. :) The goodies are calorie free, so when they're offered ... just help yourself.
It's just me and the DH, and on week-ends I keep crazy hours. I usually stay up until around 1 or so. :)

Welcome, Flowerchild, sometimes I am up and down all night and wish I could chat with someone on DG. most of the times I have to take Ambien to get some sleep as I did last night but only slept about 5 hours.. I think i am this way since i lost my husband, it is hard to get used to being alone when I have shared a bed with him for 58 years.

Susan, hope you are feeling better when you wake up this AM, but once again I want to remnd you not to overdue!

You made it, Casey, finally all your cares about getting the house have ended now all you must do, and that is perhaps a big job, is moving!

MollyMac. now that must have been loads of fun finding that nursery and bringing home spring time.

...and a good morning to every one
