Happy Birthday Horseshoe! Jan. 25th

Lyndonville, NY

Happy Birthday Big Brother!

On this day, 50...somethin....years ago...a beautiful PINK baby boy was born into this world!

I can't tell you all how wonderful it has been to have a brother like him come into my life, not only has he given me many smiles and laughs, but also many new friends here on DG.

OK, enough of the sentimental sap! Shoe, you have a great day. Do some fishing, do some relaxing, some shrimp and good food, have a couple blue sodas and birthday cake....but most of all, enjoy life to the fullest.

I love ya more than you'll ever know!

Thats right, he wasn't playing 52 pickup...hehe...he is playing with a full deck...the deck might be a little...warped....but its all there, all the four suites....but mostly the HEARTS! Oh man, sister sap at its best!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Mercy!
*grinnin bigtime here, Folks. Thanks! Love all the words, sentiment, and the ribbing! (I'm a "rib man" ya know!)

A'hmmm....as for playing with a Full Deck!? Welp, I must admit, I MIGHT have all the cards but in my mind they are all lined up in a row! And with the slightest breeze they start to fall (like dominoes do!) and I have no control whatsoever which direction the go in! (It's a scary sight, in my mind!)

Now, as for this PINK bizness...from a once-upon-a-time-previous post, I submit my reasons!

January 25th, 1954 On this momentous day in History…

…R.H. “Horseshoe” Griffin was catapulted into broad daylight, thus beginning the journey of a thousand smiles. However, the hairy-headed nine-pounder was immediately disgusted to see the new décor. Everything was PINK!

According to the Mother, she had previously given birth to boys, twice. She was sure this third child would be a girl and she planned accordingly. However, upon inspection, it was soon discovered the mother was mistaken!

Baby ‘Shoe was immediately swaddled in a pink blanky! Pink booties were placed upon his feet, a pink baby hat positioned over his pinkish-red hair, and he was then gently placed in a pink bassinet! It was just too much for the poor boy! (All that “pink” was compounded by the fact that all the nurses would walk by and say, “Ohhh…such a cutie pie she is! Cootchie cootchie coooo!” This was always accompanied with fingers pinching his cheeks, thus causing those to match the surrounding!

Needless to say, Horseshoe survived early Life and now resides on MoonDance Farm in the great state of North Carolina. An avid gardener/greenhouse grower, has-been musician, and wanna-be writer, he continues to enjoy all the colors of the rainbow, except PINK!

(Wheww...hope ya'll bear with me!)

Many thanks for the greetings!
Friend Shoe :>)
