Coffee and....For Tuesday, January 24, 2006
Hi There,
I guess it's morning; so I'll post here before I head off to bed.
The election results are mostly in and we will have a change of government, but it will be another minority government. The NDP made great gains, but will still be 1 seat short of having enough to hold a balance of power. And there are a few ridings still undecided or where there will be recounts. For anyone who wants more details, check http://www.cbc.ca/
As predicted, the riding in which I live went Liberal. It's probably the safest Liberal riding in the country. Too bad because I don't think much of the incumbent. He rented the house next door to me for a year a couple of years before he ran for office. But the FC which is only 3 km away is in a different riding (one which we were part of until the boundaries were redrawn a few years ago). And that riding changed hands from Liberal to Conservative although there were only 1000 votes difference between the two. Implications for the FC is that the MP gets to approve (or not) our request for summer student funding from the Federal government. It will be important for my successor to lobby him soon to ensure that we have his support.
Anyway, the country has slapped the Liberals on the wrist without giving too strong a mandate to the Conservatives and I think that is probably good. We can only hope that with 4 parties, they will learn to work together so that we aren't back to the polls again in less than two years.
Good night all who are looking here.
Good morning to those who have just awakened.
Ann
Well, I am second today. I have checked the other forums, and found that I did not miss much today. There is no place like coffee.....and. No place like home.
Well I really am off to bed, although I don't feel the least bit sleepy, so I may just sign back on, watch for me.
Morning - windy here today!!
My friend who is 'dating' the prison guy has an interesting background. She and her husband (the one who left) did prison ministry for years . In fact he was the chaplin in the prison for at least 15 yrs that I know of. So they have been around prisoners for years. I just worry that she is so lonely, that any 'body' seems welcome to her. She did tell me that she put a block on her phone for 6 mon so that he cannot call her. I did tell her to be careful (I wanted to tell her to run!!!) Her son is local judge, so hopefully he has given her some guidance. It is so hard for me to express my true feelings as I am certain I don't know the whole story! I'll certainly keep her in my prayers tho.
Oh crappppppp (excuse me) I just got an email from my brother asking me to house sit (which means keep tab of his two wild girls) for 10 days in April and 3 days in Feb. Now I would do anything for my brother because we are like twins, but I just hate staying at his house. It is a huge huge (but beautiful) house and I only have to sleep there- but I still hate it. The girls always pull something on me and I spend a ton of $$ on gas going from their house to ours. If I don't do it, but are really up a creek...and remember I have a terrible time saying NO to him. Oh glory, what am I to do.....
IO1- congrads on the tomato babies...don't ya just love seed starting!! I spend hours just staring at me seeds!!
9Kity - take it easy. I am another that cannot take any kind of pain meds without getting terribly sick to my stomach (I'd rather be in pain than nauseated!) After my surgeries, I ended up going off everything and just taking plain old tylenol.
Received a weird email from my mom in Fla. She wrote down instructions on where her impt papers were and was I was to do. Now she has told me this info before, but she said she wanted it down on paper too, so my bro/sis could see it too. She then told me to go to her condo and take some dishes that she had stashed for me. Later in the evening her sister called and said she had talked to her that day and something was major wrong. Seems her husband (our step) is losing it...Oh gosh, one more thing. Doesn't it seem that things run smoothly and then everything goes to He**!!!!! I'm calling my sis this morning and talking about what we should do....
I feel just overwhelmed right now......time for a morning yogurt...
Here's a link to photos and information on the hyacinth bean vine. Beans are poisonous if ingested!
http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/890/index.html
Good morning! Oweeee, that shoulder is giving me grief this morning, probably from being in that uncomfortable position for the MRI. I see the Dr. at 11: and then DIL and I are going to lunch afterwards. We'll see what he has to say. I have the films in my car, and I looked at them. LOL Fat lot of good that did....they are incomprehensible to me.
So sorry to about the upset stomachs and the queasies, I absolutely hate throwing up! I got pretty good at it when I was pregnant, but somehow have lost the technique over the years. Awful. Ugh! Hope it all passes quickly and this is over soon!
Sarv, you might want to go back to last year's postings about your adventure in babysitting if you need a reminder of how much fun it was at your brother's house! And, as I recall, there wasn't much in the way of gratitude upon their return. Straighten up that back bone, and give them a firm, "No, I won't be available". No reasons, no apologies, no explanations. The more you try to invent reasons why not, the more you will feel guilty and waiver. If they can afford to take off like that, they can afford to pay someone to provide "staff" for their absence. Since you can do it by email, that takes the face to face part of it out of the picture. They don't even reimburse you for gas, do they?
Your friends relationship with the jail bird is troublesome, too. MaryE is right about the plotting and scheming that prisoners do, most, if not all, are looking for a free ride when they get out, or to get into the bank accounts of whoever befriends them. And they are in jail because they got caught...at least once...who knows how many cons or schemes they didn't get caught at? If her brother is a judge he might be able to access the records of his offense(s) because most assuredly he is lying about his past.
In Wisconsin the municipal court records are available on line and you can do a search by name and pull up anything that is a public record! I pulled up my BIL's record,( the one here in WI ) recently and he has two pages, everything from DWIs, to Domestic Abuse, to unpaid bills where they took him to court, and one judge called him a chronic offender. We haven't seen him or his family in 7 or 8 years, and I hope it stays that way! We did get a wedding invitation for one of his daughters last year. I gave it to DH and I think he tossed it. I'm sure they wanted a *present*, not our presence.
MaryE, I love those braids!! That's a really nice pictureof you. Why is it as soon as a kitty sees the camera, they immediately leave the charming pose and spoil it? Lambing will start soon won't it? Are you going to be helping again this year? That is such a huge job, I'd be worn out after a couple of nights. Glad Amanda Panda is feeling better.
Souky resumed her bathroom supervisor duties this morning, and when Sammi tried to get up on the lid with her, she just bopped him on the head. Without spitting. This is a vast improvement over hissing and running. He managed to cuddle up near Mini for a nap yesterday, twice, so we are making progress. He is like a two year old, the more he needs a nap the nuttier he gets. Last night we were watching tv just before bedtime, and he was running laps over the back of couch, back to the floor, into the kitchen, through the hall, back into the liviing room, desperately trying not to stop because he was ready to fall over! And when we went to bed, he was on the couch with Mini and I think they both fell asleep there. Leaving the entire bed to DH, me and Souky!
VAnn, they do redistricting here too, and there is some conniving going on to try to get lines redrawn in order to get larger voter blocs for whoever's in power, to keep the majority. They are only supposed to be able to do this every ten years, but some questionable practices have occurred recently. I don't want to get into political debates so that's all I'm going to say. None of them have clean hands.
I hope everyone is feeling better today, and on the road to recovery. Who has tomato seedling sprouting, IO1? Oh, I am so envious!! It will be three months before I can even think of seedlings!!! Plus I wouldn't dare do them in the house, can you imagine Sammi dancing over seed trays??? LOL
Getting up, backing away from the computer, see ya later!
Sheila
Hi everybody
Well, today I have to get the 2X4 after the laundry monster since the washer was on the blink yesterday. Actually it was the plumbing ... but the same affect as the thing leaked. But the handy dandy DH came home a bit earlier and got it fixed. So today is the day. LOL Also have more typing. Hurray for that. :)
Ann, I am in agreement with everyone else. I just plain don't like politics anymore. They pull that redistricting stuff here, also. Have had a time in our town. Won't even comment on the national. ;)
Meezers, sounds like the kittys are *really* taking to each other now. Little Sammy is a pistol, isn't he? He reminds me of my DH. Just doesn't want to give up the ghost and go to bed. LOL LOL
Sarv, sure am sorry you get put on the spot like that. Makes it soooo hard when it's family, doesn't it? I'm not good when it comes to family either. I have handled them poorly in the past. There have been some hard feelings because I stood up when I was uncomfortable falling into the mold. Oh well, no good where families are concerned.
Susan and Janis ... sure hope both of you are better today.
Oh, Meezers, so sorry ... forgot to say I'm wishing you well with your report today.
Kelly, what about you? How's the cellulitis? My goodness we sure have a lot of sick folk here at coffee.
Well, better get up from here. I know I've missed plenty, but to those I've forgotten please don't take offense. I think I've got CRS this morning. :)
Hugs and hello to everyone.
... Elaine
Good morning all. Been up for ages, have read everything, but don't have time to respond right now. Will be back later to comment.
Good Morning!
Sarv - You really do have your plate full right now! I would probably have to say something to the friend about her situation. At least let her know that you are worried about her. Just tell Brother NO. It is so hard to say no to family. Did you get your Parks Seed catalog yet? I got mine yesterday so if you didn't get yours, it should be comming soon.
Eliane -Congrats on the new babies! I am getting the itch to start some seed, but still way too early.
Thanks for all those who gave info on the Hyacinth Bean! I'm looking forwad to trying this one.
M5 - Good luck at the Dr. today.
MaryE - Great picture.
Gotta get back to work. See ya later!
Good morning all,
I've read all the posts from yesterday and today. Will comment on those I remember but won't go back and re-read in detail. If I leave you out it's not intentional.
I hope all those who were not feeling well yesterday are better today.
Sarv, sounds as though you have your hands full with your friend, mother and brother. Good luck as you work your way through it all. Is you Mom permanently in Florida or just there for the winter? It's a long way from MI.
darius, thanks for the info on those beans. With 2 near 4-yr-olds around on occasion, I think I'll stay away from them for awhile.
M5, good luck when you find out about the MRI. Hope the shoulder improves. Glad to hear tht Sammi seems to be more accepted.
Mary, I thought you looked quite photogenic in the photo. Also relieved here that Amanda Panda is doing better.
Elaine, hope you get control over that laundry monster. Glad to hear that your machine was repairable.
Last night while watching the election returns, I got most of the rows of my afghan sewn together. Just have a few which need the odd squares added at either end. It is made of fine yarn, crocheted with a 4 mm hook and has 143 squares - 13 rows of 11. Didn't have enough yarn to add another row to either the width or length. I'll have to decide about an edging when I get it sewn together completely. Since I don't watch much TV, it might take me awhile to finish it off. Don't know whether I'll take it with me to Rochester as I'll be driving both ways rather than riding.
Was in at the FC earlier in the evening. Wanted to finish off all the tax receipts and get them mailed or set out for volunteers to deliver. I was able to do so for all the English ones both 2005 and a handful for 2006. But I couldn't do the French ones. When I left on Saturday, my successor, whose French is better than mine, was making some adjustments to the French text in the thank you letter. This file is password protected because it has my signature block in it. I don't know what password he used when he save it, but it isn't the one we agreed on (or anything close because I tried several variations). I hope he knows. Otherwise we will have to trash it and recreate it.
Also couldn't find either of the two new envelope sealers which we bought last week. Don't know where he stowed them, but certainly not where anyone could find them easily. I left him a stack of unsealed receipts with a note to find the sealer, seal them and get them in the mail.
This guy, I think, spends more time organizing than actually DOING anything. Whereas I had about 10 or so mailboxes in the e-mail program, he has created about 30. I looked at the data and some of the stuff wasn't in the appropriate mailboxes at all. I moved a bunch of stuff around and eliminated about 6 boxes, but I think I'll leave everything else as is. If he asks me to do any further clean-out, I'll tell him that he's moved things around so much that I can't find anything. He'll never know which box he put things in.
He DID spend time working on the client data on Sunday and yesterday. And I spent about an hour with him yesterday morning with a tape recorder running.
This has gotten pretty long. Wonder how many others have posted while I've been disconnected.
Have a good day.
Ann
Back from the work out - and man did I sweat!! Time for a shower!! We had a snow come down heavily and really ice up the roads. It was a slick mess for a while - things were much better coming home.
I have given thought to my brothers asking and yes M5 I do remember last year with the girls!! I didn't like it then and I know I won't like it now. My thought is that I will plan a trip to visit my sister that week and then I will have to make myself go (I love going there, but hate the ride alone - 5 hrs..) That will take me off the hook for that weekl. I do think I will be forced to do the 4 day jaunt. I have a TERRIBLE time saying no to my brother - I just love him so much...(I'm afraid he knows it too!!) But he would lay down his life for me.
As far as the friend/prison thing goes, I have told her to go SLOW....she has three children to talk to. I feel like I should hang out my shingle sometime....I must have a broad shoulder to cry on or else I am a wusss (that's probably it!!)
Well, I'm hungry - gotta boogie for a bit!
Morning All,
Ann,
I Hate politics,,,one of the first things we learned in Cosmetology,,,,Don't talk about politics or religion,,,,I guess I didn't hear that very well,,,I talk about both,,LOL However, politics I Try to keep away from,,,,unless a customer brings it up and I Have to answer (read,,,give my opinion),,,LOL sometimes it's a Bad thing. Sounds like the new guy is on a power trip,,,how sad. It's good that you'll be done soon. Sounds like a beautiful piece,,,of course we'll want pics when you have it done,,,
sarv,
If they can afford a big beautiful house and vacations, they can afford someone to watch their ummm girls (not the word I was going to use). anyway,,,tell him your not available. Why should you go nuts when they are enjoying themselves? Whoa,,,,Mom sounds kinda like she is thinking somethings wrong. I hope not. Maybe it's just that thing we all go through. I have papers to be signed by my family and non blood relatives as to my wishes. Also will be getting a will made out. Not that I have much, but there is a certain way I want things done when something happens to me. Maybe that's the thing she's doing,,,,hopefully.
M5,
Glad the kids are getting their who's the boss thing worked out. I would have Loved to see the race going on,,,,lol what a funny little stinker.
Elaine,
Glad to hear the machine is fixed,,,,at least now, you can get caught up. Still no fun though,,,,glad to hear everything is coming up so nicely. I just started the Antibiotics yesterday, so will be spending as much time as I can with my legs up. When I was in the hospital, they told me that was good, so I will do it again.
Suzie,
Have a good day at work.
Really windy here today,,,did have flurries earlier but they have moved on. There definitely is a chill in the house though. Well, better get a couple of things done before my customer gets here.
Have a good day all.
Kelly
Sarv, It is windy, sunny and chilly here today. My first reply about watching the girls, was "don't do it" then I read where you may go to your sisters, 4 days is doeable, but remember Christ was crucified, buried and ressurected in three days, so watch out, that's plenty of time for disaster to happen. Did you talk to your sis? What does she think about mom?
Meezer, let us know what you find out from the Dr. Sammi sort of reminds me of my sister's yorkie, he fights sleep, and runs around like that, then just falls over!! It is so funny. Glad to hear that they all have/or about to have found their niche.
Susieq, did you find some hyacinth bean seeds, if not I have plenty.
Vann, retireing and leaving a job you love is almost like giving a child up for adoption, you so want it to be well taken care of, and you know that no one else could do it like you. Been there and done that.
Well I talked to 101 a while ago. It is raining there, and she is doing laundry and some typing. So she has a busy day going on.
I was going to DM's to remove more wallpaper, but I hired my son and his girlfriend, as I have way more at my house to do, and there is just not enough hours in the day. Sometimes, well most times, I am so far behind that I actually think I might be ahead. Heading to the kitchen to do some prep for supper. Sister will be here tonight to eat, so am making the burgundy beef, and it smells soooooo good. Thanks 101 for the recipe.
Well I will be back to check in later.
Have a peaceful, restful afternoon.
VA - I'd love to see a picture of the afghan when y ou get it done. I have several that my mom had made. Nothing better to snuggle up with than a homemade afghan.
Kelly - Work and good day don't go in the same sentence, LOL. We're supposed to get the windy stuff starting tomorrow. No mattter how much i pick up around the yard, there's always stuff blown around.
Defoe - we posted at the same time. Susan is going to send me some seed. Thanks for the offer though. I know the feeling of being behind. Sometimes I feel life is in fast forward and i'm in reverse.
I'll post a pic of the afghan when I get it done. But remember, this one is a humble granny-square. Realllll easy. The last ones I did were for the grandtwins and they gave me tennis elbow because there wer so many little pieces which all started with a circle.
Check out http://www.magma.ca/~fredrkng/Twins/twins4.html to see pics of those. They were a LOT of work, but I loved the way they turned out.
Ann
suzie,
LOL,,,I know,,,,oxymoron,,,,I know the fast forward and reverse thing also,,,,feel the same way at times.
Ann,
I looked at the link. Very cute afghans,,,love all the little animals and so colorful,,,I bet the kids love them.
Kelly
Ann - I love the twins afghans. They are adorable, but I think the twins are more adorable!
It's so windy here today I may blow away when I go out!
Jody
Holy Cow Vi - those afghans are a piece of art!!! Did you have a pattern for those?? What a labor of love!! My mom/step go to Fla for 5 months - much too long to be away!! I like it that they can be so active in the warm weather, but I know she misses us back in the cold!!
Defoe - have been on the phone with my sister several times. She is going to give her (mom) a call sometime this week and see what's up. My mom seldom tells me when there is trouble - she keeps it all to herself. Glad to hear you hired someone else to do the wallpaper removal - hate doing it myself!! Makes me even want to NOT wallpaper again!
GG - I am so close to my brother and we both would do anything for each other. I know they want me because I have done it many times in the past and things were always fine. The one time they had someone else, one daughter threw a huge party and completely trashed their house. My DH says 'let them stay home like we did!' (we never once left ours until they were in college and even then THEY thru a party!!)
Weather continues to be very windy and the house seems drafty. I put on a turtle neck/fleece and have the heating pad on my legs (but then I am always cold during the day)
Stew is in the crock pot (didn't have a bay leaf tho!), and I am going to make some muffins to go with it...
I need to make a trip to the library - may do it now...
sarv,
I hear ya,,,,way hard to say no. LOL @ your kids throwing a party. My Mom and I went to Vegas one year,,,my brother stayed home,,,that is until the day before we got home. We walked into the house and my Mom looked around and said, he moved out. I said he better have cause I'm gonna kick his butt if he walks through that door!!!! He threw one heck of a party and left everything just where it was when the party ended. I think he partied from the time we drove out of the driveway until our Dad came to pick him up. He went to live with our Dad. He was turning 21 in a few days.
What a mess. It took us hours to clean up that mess. Booze bottles stuck to the table,,,ashtrays overflowing,,,I don't even remember how many times we had to wash the floor it was so sticky,,k,I think they must have poored drinks onto the floor,,,it was that bad.
You have to decide what you can handle. We can all say this or that,,,but in the end you have to do what you feel is right.
Kelly
Just need to pass this on from IO1... it's part of the goodies we raised money for...
Guess what I'm doing today?
'M READING WITH MY BOOK PORT! Okay, sorry I was screaming ... but couldn't help myself. LOL Oooooh, Darius, it's soooo grand. It has all the functionality of my computer.
Actually, I haven't started reading yet as I'm still going through the instructions. When you turn on the unit, it has all the instructional manuals right there at your fingertips. You can go forward/backward a character, word, sentence ... etc.
You have files and folders just like on your computer. You can record notes and file them. You can down load and store info from your PC so it's portable. I just can't even begin to tell you everything it will do, but then I know you've already read it.
I wish I could make a video so I could play it on DG. There's no way I can properly thank everyone. You just can't express it in words.
Hugs to you ... Susan Elaine (IO1)
Back home again. what a quack. Looked at the Xray and said he couldn't see anything major, except the tendon looks a little enlarged . Suggested I take Motrin for 3 or 4 weeks and then see him again. Well for crying out loud, I could have done that without the MRI and the office visit expense, and if he thinks i'm coming in for another no answer $$$ visit, he's got another think coming. Should have gone to my cousin, but I hate parking where his office is located. Bah!!
Sammi was pitiful when I came home, no food for four hours!! now he's fed and bouncing around, with the girls trying to escape his attentions.
GG hope you are feeling better by now. And Mg, you know people will drag their kids anywhere with their runny noses etc. and not mind at all that they are spreading germs by the millions! I try to stay away from small children....walking petri dishes.
Thanks for the quote Darius, it's so heartwarming to know Elaine is using her new tools and enjoying so many new experiences. Nice progress on the pump house, you all deserve a day off at the fair....but like Scooterbug said, don't eat before you go.
Windy here today too. We've had the gamut, sunshine, rain, sleet, snow, fog....right now it's just overcast and windy. I couldn't believe the draft I could feel around the sliding doors to the deck. I picked up some of that strippable clear caulk so DH can put it around the doors, I don't feel up to heating the neighborhood. He won't like not being able to step out on the deck to fill the feeders, but he can do that from the basement door, and just go up the steps to the deck. (Did I mention last month's gas/electric bill was $325. ? )
Lovely afgans, VAnn, I can't do that anymore, my fingers cramp up and I can't get them unsprung! My sis makes afgans for every occasion, does them while she watches tv. They usually fall apart in a short time.
Back to spot cleaning the carpet. Hello to all, and hoping you are having a good day.
Sheila
Edited to say HI Elailne!!

Thanks to those who said nice things about the twins' afghans. I have the book somewhere. I'll find it and let you know what it is. Can't remember whether they had one with ALL the animals in it or not. I know they offered ones with EACH animal. I though they should all be combined.
M5, consider yourself lucky that you were able to get the MRI. It's really the only way to make a good diagnosis on a torn rotator cuff. I never did have one after my bad shoulder injury, but it is probable that there is a tear. To get an MRI up here, my medicare will cover it, but I'd probably have to wait 18 months unless it's something life threatening.
I've been fortunate that I've been able to work my way back to using it most of the time, but it will never be the same. Sometimes really burns when I do aquafit. I used to swim a full km (40 lengths) regularly twice a week. Can't do it anymore.
Ann
Hi everyone. It's a beautiful sunny afternoon. I made my weekly shopping trip this morning, went to the laundromat and smuggled a saddle pad into one of their big machines. I go to the one on the cheaper side of town because there is no attendant there and it is much easier to wash my animal stuff, also a bit cheaper per machine load. Checked my unlucky number at the discount store, just missed it by one number this week but that's as good as a mile. Last time I won something there it was a roll of plasticwrap that sticks to itself way too good and not worth a darn to anything else. Today I also had Chinese lunch with my hubby, who for some reason was not having a hectic day, and then I bought some groceries and came home.
I might be taking my truck and trailer to the Portland area this weekend so I can haul horses that need to be shuffled between my place and a friends. My mare is there, for sale but not sold yet and she is kicking the barn walls, so needs to come back home. I think she has the horse equivalent of cabin fever. She is used to the wide open spaces and lots of sun and it has been dark, gloomy, raining a lot, mud, nothing like home, and she hates it. I would too, I've lived over there and that is one reason I live on the sunny side of the state now. I've been keeping one of this friend's horses while mine has been at her place and that one needs to go back, and then she has a different one she wants me to bring here for a few days until somebody from Idaho can come to get him. Anyhow, I was on my way home from town today, looked at the odometer, looked at the sticker on the windshield, oops, overdue for service and if I take the trailer this weekend that will add about 600 miles. So I called the dealership and can get it serviced at 1pm tomorrow. That's good because I will be working for my neighbor all day Thursday and leaving Friday morning but I hadn't planned on another trip to town quite so soon.
Meezer, your poor starving and neglected kitty, 4 whole hours! Mine was glad for a lap when I got home, she had been in the bathroom where her litter box, sleeping box, food, water and a couple of toys are, but she is in there at night and doesn't mind at all. In fact, she goes in there to play sometimes when she has the run of the house. I guess having been a lone survivor living under a porch, she got used to being alone whereas yours came right from mother and siblings.
Kelly, I think if I had been your mom I would have hunted down that brother of yours and made him clean up his disgusting mess.
I've got to check the thread about Darius' and Molly's progress on the pumphouse. Oh, and I also need to make a couple of phone calls so gotta get off the computer. See ya.
Good Evening Gobs and 'Ettes!
I made a deal with myself this morning, no DG until I got at least 4 loads of laundry done and put away, and the livingroom cleaned all the way top to bottom. Whew! I did it, and now I can catch up on some threads and head to chat, lol. Can't miss chat, ya know!
I'll come back later and read what all has happened today, you all were pretty gabby!
mg
Hi There again
I promised you some pics from our snowshoe outing.
We went to a bog on the outside of Ottawa - probably only a 10-15 minute drive from home - Mer Bleu. Used as a nature preserve in the summer and many ski and activity trails in the winter. Of course, in the winter, you don't have to stick to trails, especially if you are on snowshoes, and it didn't take us long to leave the trail and set off into the bush.
It was a mild day - just below the freezing point. We didn't start out with our hoods up, but if we knocked the snow off a tree branch and down the back of our necks, it was really cold.
At first we were following other snowshoe tracks. But eventually they just turned around. We did too, for awhile. Then we decided to head off into the underbrush to see if we could find a shorter way back to the trail.
That's when the hoods went up for real because we were knocking snow off all the branches. But eventually, we decided that we had to retrace our steps. It went a lot faster coming out. And I also pulled off my hood, and my hat, and my gloves. We were getting so warm that snow down the back of the neck actually felt good. I think my hair was wetter after finishing that outing than after Aquafit in the morning.
A good workout and there are muscles in the back of my lower legs that I don't use for aquafit, but sure did on the snowshoes (as I hobble down the stairs).
Ann
Oh, VA, those pictures are just beautiful. We don't usually get that much snow to be able to do that. If I go out in the snow it is with boots, no snowshoes here.
Mg, I have had to try that too. Stay off the computer until I have accomplised something, then reward myself, and sign on for just a few minutes. Work is going better now.
Sarv, GG, I think that we have all encounterd trashed houses from parties while adults were gone. It only happened once at my house. My DS was 16 and thought he was too old to go with us on vacation. Let him stay home, (dm right down the road) and told him under no circumstance was he to have anybody in the house. Well, we came home, he had it pretty well cleaned up, but there were still traces of the partying. So after that, we cut all driving priviledges, and several other things, and when we got through with the punishment, there were no more parties. Maybe at somebody else's house, not mine though.
Well, our weather has changed since dark. It was mildly windy today, but we are having gusts that you just wouldn't believe. Supposed to turn colder during the night, with a high of 22 tomorrow and days following. Rained a little also. So it has run the gamut.
I am going to bed shortlly, sis and I have a very hard day tomorrow. We will be papering my mom's kitchen, and it is a bear.
So it will probably be late tomorrow before I check in. Have a good night and a better day tomorrow.
Where is Carat, Maria, the guys? I miss everyone when they are not here. Oh, and Babs, been awhile since she posted.
Talk to you tomorrow.
Hi all
Ann, that does sound like such fun. Oh and that snow falling down your shirt ... makes me squirm. I bet you were sore after all that exercise out there. I can just imagine you'd get carried away out there in all that pretty country. I don't think I'd ever want to come in. :)
Defoe, don't work too hard tomorrow ... but hope you have fun with your DS. Sisters can be so much fun. Miss mine. LOL You sure are brave to be tackling that job. The DH and I did our bathroom and hall 3 years ago. *Never Again* I have decided I *hate* wall paper. ;)
Mary, hope you have a nice trip to Portland this week-end if you decide to go. I bet your horse will be glad to get back home.
Well, for those who might be interested ... I've posted several times about the book port Darius mentioned in her post earlier if you'd like to see it.
