No, I'm not up early, I'm to bed late! I fell asleep on the sofa for a couple of hours; then woke up and got caught up in a movie. Now I can't get to sleep!!!

Good Morning!! I'm back among the living.....spent the whole day (actually 12.5 hrs ) over at DIL house doing scrapbooking. She had one of those 'party things' - similar to a tupperware party. She was hoping to sell $400 dollars worth of goods to get some nice hostess gifts. Her DH told her she couldn't buy a thing...Well, she sold over $700 worth of stuff and got a load of nice free stuff. I was worried that she wouldn't reach the goal she wanted, so I spent $100 (got her a birthday gift tho) It makes me laugh, she didn't spend a penny and ends up with a load of stuff, I spend a wad and ended up with nothing!! Such is MY life!! LOL

I made a wonderful new dip - tons of gals asked for the recipe - it was BLT dip. Any of you had/made it? It was a keeper - I already put it in the recipe box!!

Came home last night with the worse 'sinus' stuff- teeth, mouth, ear, head all ached!!! Took a couple of pills, put the heating pad on my face and went to bed. Thank goodness I wokeup feeling ok. I just feel like I am 'about to get' something!! Couple of little ones were at DIL and they were sick and I held them - bad choice I fear....(why would you bring a sick little one out???) and yet, why would a smart person hold them???

I am off at 10am with DIL to watch one of her little students wrestle - I don't know why I am going....I would rather stay at home in my jammies, but I've subbed for this little guy in DIL hearing impaired class and he is a cutie. Wonder how the wrestle with hearing aids in??? Will be an experience.

I'll have to get back to read all the stuff that went on yesterday - skimmed them real quick..

Woof - so sorry about the kitty.....sob. Certainly has been enough 'pet woes' on this forum lately!!

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning. Adding my sympathies here for the loss of your kitten, Janis. I saw the picture you posted, she looked so sweet. I have a sick one now and not sure what it is. AmandaPanda is not eating and even throws up when she only drank water. This started right after she got her shots but the vet thinks it is coincidental timing and not a reaction. Yesterday I took her to the vet, xray showed nothing, and she did eat some soft food while there, so I brought her home. Meanwhile, she is not eating, I tried a can of fancy feast and also gave her some yogurt which I forced down and she forced back up in a few minutes. She also barfed overnight, greenish watery stuff, so tomorrow she will go back. The vet thought she might have a blockage, and I am wondering if it is the fluffy covering from the tennis ball she plays with, or what else she might have picked up that won't digest. By the time this is all over she could be worth her weight in gold. Poor kitty.

Sarv, you should know by now that that is how those parties work, everybody trying to make sure the hostess gets her loot. I avoid going to stuff like that anymore. What does the BLT dip have in it? I hope you don't get the yukkies from holding those sick kids. They are moblie incubation labs.

Time to get dressed and get my horses fed. They start looking toward the house as soon as it gets light, or maybe before that when I turn on the lights since they can see me when I can't see outside.

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

OH I have missed you all. I seem to get here, read a few posts and then life attacks me and takes me back to the humdrum of reality. I need to find my DH a better paying job so he can make both mortgage payments and I can stay at home and play.

Woof, I am so sorry about your furbaby. Its so hard to loose a pet. Glad your shoulder is feeling better though.

Sarv, I would love to have a hint of whats in the BLT dip or maybe even the whole recipe. Sounds yummy. My whole family loves anything with bacon. Wow a 700.00 party. That is awesome. I love to scrapbook on my own a little. It is so expensive though, and since I am watching every penny I am not going anywhere near one of those parties. It will just be more for me to move.

Well we should, please oh please have the final papers signed on the 27th. My lawyer has double and triple checked our file and everything is in order, he will be reviewing the sellers file on monday just to make sure that they have everything in order. I am starting to get my hopes up again. I posted a picture of the natural spring on the property. The picture is a couple years old. The neighbor gave it to DH while he was there a couple weeks ago. He is going to send us some others that he has of the property over the past 10 years that he has been next door.

Well DH and I are going to go look at some of the models for these new condo's that are springing up everywhere around here. I want to see what is so special about an apartment that someone is willing to pay 500,000.00 and more for one.

I have read all the posts, just on Sundays brain and cant remember who wrote what.

May no one be in pain or sad today
I hope for a beautiful day for you all

Aw, Mary, hope your kitty will be okay. Too many kitties here are either leaving us here on the earth or are sick. Let them all get well and be happy. So far my kitties are healthy but....
I did spend the nite with my old college roommate on Fri. nite and she is a vet. So we chatted up about animals a lot that nite.
She says that there is becoming a lot to be said for cats to have only wet/canned food. No dry food.
Because they are now saying that dry food causes diabetics way too much for cats. That they eat too much of the dry food. That the wet stuff is more of what they would be living on in the wild, more protein. The cats also don't gain so much weight with wet food so they aren't prone to being obese then.
My last cat died of diabetics and I don't ever want to go thru that again. It was horrible.
So I may be switching my cats to more and more wet/canned food. They like it better anyways but it is so much more expensive so....
So all this was interesting.

Sarv, spent time on those bleachers, huh??? Fun. As for him wrestling with the hearing aids, I bet he took them out when he went out to the mats and the ref. just would touch him when they are to stop.
Just came back from doing that on Fri. and Sat. Son ended up not wrestling on Fri. afternoon since he was seeded so high up on the bracket. So I had wasted my time driving 1 1/2 hrs to see him wrestle plus taking off from work, so.....grrrrrrrrrrr....
I was kind of pissed.
So went to my old college roommates house and had dinner and chatted the nite away. So that part was ok.
Went back to the gym for the long day on the bleacher yesterday. Son ended up getting 3rd place. The ref. had the score wrong apparently but won't fix it. My son never gets upset but boy he sure was then. He was also sick with a bad cold and couldn't breathe but he did very well considering.

Sheila, love the kitty pic always!

So today it looks like it will be a rain-free day so..... Maybe outside.... Can't wait.... Need to finish my retaining wall.....
So hope all have a good day today.
Later, Carol (DR)(the even one)

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Back for a bit...didn't go to the wrestling event- DIL never called, so I didn't call her to ask about it - I was glad as I was totally pooped from Saturday.

Mary, I know how those parties run!. DIL is such a treasure that I didn't mind spending so she could reach her goal. Years ago I made a promise to myself to NEVER have a home party or a garage sale and I have held to it. But I cannot tell you how many I HAVE attended...I always feel obliged to buy at least one thing- no wonder I get invited to so many LOL - guess I have sucker written on my forehead!

Interesting about the dry cat food. We always fill a huge bowl up and let our cat graze at will!! Yikes, have we been doing it wrong!!! She goes outside and runs around and is practically an outside cat in the summer. She also mouses when the weather is warmer! We lost out first cat to diabetes (not at all pleasant I agree), but he was 18 yrs old - pretty old for an outside/inside cat I think. The cat we have now sure seems to drink a lot- prediabetes?? Shoot, now I have something new to fret about!

DR - rats about son not wrestling, but hooray for 3rd place. What was wrong with that ref?? Wouldn't DS coach do anything about it? Doesn't seem fair.

Carat - here's the recipe for ya;
BLT dip
1 1/2 c sour cream
1 1/2 c mayonnaise
1 # bacon - fried and crumbled (I cut mine up before cooking - much easier)
2 med tomatoes - chopped (I'd add more)

I did use low fat mayo and sour cream - served with crackers. Man, it really does taste like a blt too!! yum...

Hmm, more sick kitties - what is going on??? Crazy isn't it!

DH just woke you and croaked - 'man, it is roasting in here' - I have on two sweaters and loaded the stove full of wood- it is 75 deg inside and I am still chilled. Maybe I am coming down with the crud...yuck...gonna go lay down and snooze some...

Greetings,

Now reading at DD's house. Boy does high speed make a difference in the time it takes to get through all the posts. We've brought the grandtwins home after church. I'll make a couple of brief comments, but can't stay on the computer all the time that I'm here. I got off easy because I left earlier this morning - the handbells played and I had to be at church more than an hour earlier than DH and the grandtwins.

Elaine, in regard to the afghan, it's not new. Just before the twins were born (nearly 4 years ago) I knitted them sweaters. I had left-over yarn which I started chrocheting into an afghan. Bought more yarn when I ran out of left-over yarn. But when it got big, it got too warm to work on. After it sat for three years, last summer I ripped out the whole thing and started it over again - this time with granny squares. I figured that since they were portable I might eventually finish it. (I started this while attending the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival at which I spent quite a bit of time sitting in line for concerts if I wasn't volunteering). I'm now at the point where all the squares are done and I'm just sewing them together. But since I don't watch a lot of TV, it's taking awhile to do so.

gotta get off this computer. More later.

Yes, Sarv, my cat who had died from diabetics was 17 years old but.... the best cat I have ever had so far....
As for the wrestling, the coach did come up and talk to me about it all. My son was keeping score in his head which isn't his job, the stat girl is to do that but they didn't have one for his match plus no coach at that time. So he was upset about all this. The coach apoligized to me about it all but.... he would have gotten at least 1st or 2nd if he hadn't lost this one match due to bad scoring. He would like to go to some college for wrestling so is all important to him and I would love to have some scholarship money coming....
That recipe for the dip sounds good. My kids love bacon so will have to try it.
I just pulled out a blueberry coffee cake out of the oven.
Have a piece all. Is good and I love to make it on a Sunday morn.

Millbury, MA(Zone 5a)

Hi folks,

I had a really crummy day yesterday --- you know, the one's where everything you touch turns to crud. I tried to post, bumped something or other and the whole long thing went out into cyberspace. I decided to give up and go to bed before I hurt myself! Before that I managed to lose some important papers that had been hanging around in my store for a week or more with no problem. Of course I thought to myself, hmmm, I'd best put those in a safe place before they get all mangled. Now I know very well that the words "safe place" should always be accompanied by alarm bells, sirens, etc. because, as usual, I tore the place half apart last night and could not find the darn things. I had also tried to give an impatiens plant that I'd rescued from certain death a good watering. It appears that the hanging pot had no drip tray built in because I ended up watering a dollhouse kit and making a puddle on my carpet. We had re-heated left-overs for dinner and as I went to stick a fork in a bit of food to see if it was heated enough, I sent my whole dinner for a swim in the sink. That's the kind of day I mean. Grumble, grumble.

On the other hand, I'd rather have a solid week of those days than to go through what happened to Janis. I'm so sorry about your kitten. She looked like such a sweet little thing too.

Mary, I hope your kitten will be alright. If she can't even keep water down she definitely needs attetion right away. Seems she's had more than her share of illness for one so young.

I really shouldn't be "playing" now as I've way too much to do today, but I have a favor to ask. Would everyone please send as much positive energy as they can this way? DH has another interview tomorrow. The poor guy has made it to quite a few interviews but has yet to be offered a job. We figure it has a lot to do with his age, but all that rejection is pretty hard to take. He's been particularly upset when they tell him he came in second --- says he'd rather not even have been in the running. Anyhow, the job he's being interviewed for tomorrow sounds almost perfect. Besides the fact that it's a "real" job with benefits and everything (instead of the usual temporary contracts), it's an easy commute, and, best of all, it's for a conservation agency (a cause close to my heart)!

I'll try to come back later--- but if I don't make it, hope everyone has a wonderful day and a peaceful night.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

McCool, sure hope that the interview tomorrow goes more than well. No more second place finishes, I hope.

My cat was also diabetic the last couple of years. I though she was 17 too, but a quick count would indicate she was just a week or so short of 16 when we lost her. She also got dry food at least part of the time.

I tend to avoid those parties - kitchen stuff or whatever. You always feel you have to buy even if you don't want to.

DR - are there seconds of that blueberry coffee cake? Yum!

Casey - hope all goes well with your property acquisition.

Mary, keeping my fingers crossed for AmandaPanda..

Not too much else going on here. Twins are home. Sheets in the laundry for the folding bed. Just made up the other guest bed as they will, most likely, be our next overnight guests.

Think I'll start going over my old, old (486) computer removing files that I don't want (probably most of them). I'll give it to my successor at the FC for back-up copies of clients file data. Then I'll get myself a new computer. ;-)

Our Federal election is tomorrow. Thank goodness. Canadians have embraced this winter election with am amazing lack ot enthusiasm. As they said on Air Farce (comedy program) on Friday, the "39th Federal election is bearing down on us with all the momentum of a train wreck". I guess I can't say much or I'll be in violation of DG rules (no current affairs). But it looks as though we'll have a change of government. I'm not unhappy about that, but I don't much like the policies of the party which will win; so I'm hoping for another minority government. We'll see. At least we won't have to put up with all the attack ads on radio and TV.

TTYL.

Ann

Vi - I too am on the quest of a new computer. I would like a lap top. Do you know what you want? Several of my friends have recommended that I get a Dell refurbished over the internet. I am at a loss at what to get or what even I need. I just know that the memory/speed of the one I have is the pits, but it is very old. Let me pick your brain!! Tell me what you are getting and why, please...

Just put a load of dishes for a soak - will wash them in a bit. I could lug them upstairs to the kitchen that has a dishwasher, but I am too lazy - I just have to lug them back down to use them... I would love a dishwasher downstairs, but DH put in the cupboards and he made them an inch too short (can you imagine...) and I don't like those portable ones (been there done that etc) - so that leaves me the sink!! I don't usually mind doing them but would like a break once in a while (which means DH does them LOL)

Mc C - good luck to DH on the job interview stuff. We've been down that road and I understand how you feel. My DH was laid off (permanently) in 2001 and still hasn't found another job that pays/benefits the way his former one did. He actually has quit looking - so depressing - especially in Mich where the economy is down the tubes. He is now 57 and no one wants an old man like that!! He works for his brother which is not a good situation, but at least it is $$ coming in (albiet not much!!) This loss of job has happened to more people than I can count in the age bracket of my DH>many of which had pensions, so they were fine. DH had no pension. Enough about this- is makes me unhappy....Anyhow, best wishes to your DH!

I've grazed all day and not eaten a decent meal. Peanut butter sandwich for breakfast ( I love pb!!) Lunch was a yogurt and half a tuna sandwich and two small (and I mean small) bowls of sherbert. Don't have a clue what will be for dinner. What ever happened to the huge Sun dinner? With the kids all gone, we seldom make a big one anymore.

I've been standing gazing at my plant stand/growlights - watching some wave petunias. I took 9 cuttings and none of them look great, and have lost all but 3. One will definately make it - the other 2 are still pretty sad looking. They were from a sickly looking pot I was trying to overwinter. I'm making a note to myself to take cuttings in the early fall....

Well, time to get busy on those dishes!!

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

Afternoon Gobs and 'Ettes!

I've just finished taking the Christmas Tree down, yeah yeah...I know it is January 22! I like my tree, so I always leave it up a bit too long, lol. All I have to do is get the Crib set my mom made packed up and I am done. I set it up in the 120 gal aquarium again this year, safe from the kids, the cats and Rosie's tail, LMAO. Don't know what I will do with the aquarium once it is empty yet, we don't want to set it up until we paint and that won't be until spring. We wanted to paint last summer, but life got in the way again, grrr. I don't want that aquarium to become a catch-all like it did before Christmas, that looked so junky. I'm actually thinking about starting seeds in it......

Dh is cleaning up the kitchen and watching the Steelers game. I can't tell if he is yells louder when they score or screw up! But at least he is cleaning up the mess he made last night. He got hungry for some of the fish we caught last summer and I froze the extras. He fried the fish up and I made hushpuppy batter for him to fry too, pretty tasty! But what a mess he made! Oh well, at least he cooks sometimes, lol.

Jenna's cat Yum Yum isn't going to like it when I get the living room put back to normal. To make room for the Christmas tree, I had to put the recliner in Jenna's room. Yummers thinks it is her throne now. When it was in the living room, my older dog Annie claimed it. Not that I ever got to sit in it or anything, lol.

We didn't go to the Ice Show. I balanced the checkbook last night and just couldn't squeeze enough extra out of it. I'm glad I didn't tell Jenna I was trying to make it so we could go, she would have been *very* disappointed. I'll find something else to treat us with. She is thrilled just to bake cookies or something which makes it a little easier. Now that I think about it, she has been hinting around about having another "Family Fun Night" where we play games and eat snacky junk food for dinner and then have build-your-own Sundaes for dessert. That is certainly do-able!!

Okay, I have got to get off here and get the rest of the decorations down and put away or I won't get them done until March!

{{{hugs}}}

Just checking in to say hi. Turns out this wasn't DH's weekend for the tow trucks. they hired another person to do weekend rotations so that changed the schedule. He really doesn't need the second job, but does it because the owner is his best friend, and he likes it.

We ended up going to a sport show yesterday. Hunting, fishing, camping etc. It was ok, but would have rather been home with a book. I had to make up for lost time today and have been cleaning. Went to the grocery first thing this morning. Ouch!! Spent way too much.

Janis - So so sorry about your kitty.

Mary E - Hope Amanda Panda is OK.

I guess spring can't be to far away. I was walking around the yard and found a few dandilions! It's only January! I added a picture for proof. When nothing else will grow, those suckers still survive.

We had some really nice weather this weekend. Yesterday it was about 60. Today it was only 43, but the sun felt really warm.

Gotta go finsh folding some laundry. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Ann when you say removing I am assuming you have the program and know how to peel the hard disk. I have never given a computer to anyone unless I had someone who would distroy the hard disc. Everything you put on there is in layers and with the right program you can still recover anything and everything you want.

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

hi all. much better today. i quit the oxycontin and am now alternating hydrocodone with tylenol arthritis. haven't thrown up since. but i did have a really big crying jag this morning because i am so tired of sitting in the CHAIR.

i had some vegetable soup and crackers for lunch and then snacked on popcorn and a chocolate chip cookie. that sounds like a good diet, doestn't it?

i have decided that i am going to start walking around outside. so i put on a coat and went up and down our driveway a couple of times accompanied with strypurr and snowcone. they always arewith me when i am outside. LOL

well. i have been back here for awhile and need to move around.

good luck to dh on the job interview tomorrow.

i so hope amanda panda gets better. we need all healthy furbabies.

love to all,
susan

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Hi everyone.

Susan, I'm sorry to hear that you have had such a time, but it does sound like you are getting the upper hand at last, changing the meds and going for a walk. For now the diet probably doesn't make a lot of difference as long as it is temporary. I have a question for you or for any other kitty mom out there. AmandaPanda might have a hairball or more probably a hair and synthetic fuzz ball. So, I am wondering if a bit of oil for lubrication might make it move. Since I have no mineral oil would vegetable oil work? And if she threw it up would it be more likely that the watery stuff that has been coming up to cause a problem of any kind like if she inhaled at the wrong time? She ate a bit of water packed tuna this morning but most of it came up, and now she is not interested in any more tuna. When I cleaned the litter box I found some possibly fresh material, put it in a bit of water and stirred around with a stick, and I found a couple of those tennis ball fuzzies. Held my breath while I looked and then poured it into the flower bed. Cat poop sure is stinky even if the cat is little and cute.

Susieq, even a dandylion looks like a beautiful flower when there are no others. They really are kind of pretty, just growing in the wrong places and too many of them. They're ok in the pasture but won't stay on their own side of the fence.

Hubby is watching playoff game #2. I need to get my afternoon horse feeding chores done and work on dinner to be eaten durning halftime.

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

Mary,

You could use Butter instead, that's what I do. I just let them lick it off my fingers, but if she won't just smear some on her leg and she will lick it off just to get rid of it. You could probably use Olive Oil too I think.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. You are taking her back to the vet tomorrow? I can't remember now.

mg

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

MaryE, she is going to dehydrate quickly if she isn't drinking any water. It only took a day and a half for souky to get dehydrated. I don't think the fuzz on the tennis ball would cause a hair ball but it could have irritated her stomach. Souky's stomach and/or pancreas ( vet wasn't sure which came first) got inflamed because she swiped some of Sammi's too rich, fatty, kitten food, which made her vomit, then she wouldn't eat or drink anything. . I would be reluctant to recommend cooking oil or olive oil, if she throws it up and aspirates it, she could get pneumonia. If I suspect a hair ball problem, I give them a dose of Cat-lax or Laxastat, but once they stop eating and drinking that's no use. She needs to get hydrated soon, before it gets worse. The worst thing is once a cat stops eating, it's hard to get them started again. I hope you can see your vet tomorrow.

MG your checkbook is looking like mine--sucked dry. I try to keep my balance in mind, but I had such horrendous vet bills in December and this month, I need a transfusion or we'll be eating popcorn for lunch, and swelling up for dinner. It didn't take me long to get my Christmas stuff put away, I hardly put any up. It always seems like a bigger job to unassemble it than to get it up.

I hate those house parties!! I only go when it's someone in the family that is nuts like the rest of us....and we can have a good time. Otherwise, I just tell people send me a catalog and if I see something, I'll order it that way. No wasting 3 or 4 hours sitting in a circle and listening to someone drone on about how to peel potatos, etc. I am becoming a curmudgeon in my old age.

VAnn, high speed is fabulous, once you get used to it, dial up makes you insane. We have ours through the cable co. and I love it. Oz is right about your hard drive, it's got everything in it that you ever accessed, all your email, all your financial records from the food pantry, and personal ones if you used it for home bookkeeping. I would take the hard drive and run over it in the driveway a few times, then smack it with a hammer, until it's in little pieces. Just my take on it. LOL

Susan, glad you felt well enough to get some fresh air. Sometimes the cures are worse than the ailment.

Sarv, were you listening about the Dell? I wouldn't buy one locally let alone over the internet. Especially a refurbished one.....are you looking for trouble? Small computer companies can build one for you to suit your needs, if you tell them what you want to use it for. Do not pinch pennies, it will cost you more in the long run. Get enough storage in the hard drive that you will never need to upgrade. Most of the bargain packages you see advertised by the big box stores, give you a small monitor, and not nearly enough speed. It will aggravate you to no end, and you'll wonder why you bothered to get a new one. Aren't there any computer geek kids where you used to teach who could give you some advice?

If you have one made for you, it will cost you about the same, but you can pick the size of your screen on the monitor, pick the size and speed for the CPU (the tower) select your own keyboard, etc. You don't want to have to spend money on an upgrade after you have it for a year or two. Laptops are hard to type on, the keys are crammed together. Not that I wouldn't like one, just for tv watching, but I like a standard keyboard and a big screen. If you know someone who has one, ask if you can try it out, personally, I find DH's difficult to use.

McCool, you really did have a rotten day! Today had to have been better. I once watered a hanging plant that decided that was the appropriate time for the ceililng hook to come out, causing the plant to come crashing down . I just stood there and laughed, and DH said "That's not funny", and I said, "Well, yeah, it is...couldn't it have fallen before I dumped a pint of water in it?!!"

Carat and Jassmerr, and DR and everybody I hope all your pets are well, and skies are sunny tomorrow. I have to go finish up the kitchen grunt work and tomorrow I get the MRI so I'll be out of here early. Hi to everyone, sorry I can't post something for each of you, but you know I'm hello-ing you and reading all your messages.

Here's the last shot of Mini and the rotten kid....I'm sure she doesn't know he snuggled up right next to her. She'll be gone like a shot when she wakes up.

Oh my, that looks like a close encounter about to happen! Cute picture.

My kitty is drinking water but sometimes even that doesn't stay down. Hmmm, gonna try the butter. She is still playing a little, and at the moment sitting on the screen top of the mouse cage watching MTV which in our house is also known as Mousievision! Thanks.

Well, have read everyones posts,,,but am not going to comment on each. Just know that my thoughts and prayers are with all.

Kelly

Hi all
Ooooh, before I forget ... *mousievision*! Mary, you crack me up!!! LOL LOL

McCool, sure hope all goes well for the DH and his interview. You'll both be on my mind tomorrow.

Susan, so glad to see you posting. Hmm, you are braver than I am, though. Going for a walk in the 40's. :) So glad to know you're up to being around.

Janis, still have you in my prayers. How's the sinus infection? Hope you and the family are feeling better today.

Ann, isn't it wonderful to have high speed internet ... even if it is just for a couple hours. I'm so lucky as the DH has to have it for his work and our computers are networked. ;)

Carol, sure hope there's a sliver of that coffee cake left. It does sound soooo good. :)

Well, I don't know a thing about kitty cats, so I'm just going to say hi to the rest of y'all. I do hope all the aling furbabies and everyone who feels lousy will be *much* better come tomorrow.

Hi There,

Back from a rehearsal.

I join the others in urging prompt medical treatment for AmandaPanda. Sure hope she's OK.

Re the computer, the old one hasn't had anything of value on it for about 7 years and being so old, I can write over just about everything on the hard drive just by copying a few huge images onto it. Yeah with the right tools, one might still recover info, but not much of value, I don't think. The idea is to give it to my successor to use only for FC back-up because of the old DOS program we use. He's interested.

As to what I want in a new computer, I don't really know. won't be playing a lot of fast games that require sophisticated imagery. Will be doing things to my photography and will still be doing some web sites. Whatever I get, it will be faster that this one - a 4 yr old Celeron equivalent of a Pentium 3 running Windows 98. I lean towards a local company so that I've got back-up service should I end up with a lemon.
I'll start looking and asking around soon. The place where I bought my last two computers is no longer in business.

M5, looks like it might not me long before they get to snuggling.

Hope you all have a good night. It's about time to get to bed. I tried real hard last night to eliminate the previous night's sleep deficit, but DH pried me out of bed about 55 minutes after the clock radio went on and less than an hour before I needed to be at church this morning.

Well, I am just checking in for the first time today. It has been a whirlwind. Up an hour early to take DM to church, then to the rehab hospital to see DMIL, home to take DGD home. WHEW,, I just made myself tired all over again.

Will not even attempt to address everyone, but

SUSIEQ, a dreaded dandelion get out of here!!. Those things annoy me to no end. But as Mary said, even a dandelion looks good when nothing else is blooming. Maybe I need to learn how to make dandelion wine or something, or eat the greens, then I would probably look forward to them, and maybe even try to start more!!

Meezer, that pic of Sammi and the fern is precious. Wish they could stay little, playful, but learn some manners along the way. Not gonna happen in this life time.

Mary, Oh so sorry that Amanda Panda is not feeling well. I would rather be sick myself than to have an ill fur kid.

kittymom, glad that you are feeling better. I always feel better, when I can get out and get some fresh air.

Mccool, sometimes staying in bed is not a bad thing. Sounds like you needed to do that, with the covers pulled up over your head. Good luck to DH on his interview. Hope he gets #1 this time.

Sarv, what are we gonna do about your diet? Okay, fell off the wagon, climb back on tomorrow and go from there. And the home parties. I had a Premier Jewelry party to help out a cousin by marriage who was getting started in the business last fall, had about 15 guests, and sold over $900.00 worth, got about $300.00 in free stuff. DGD had a good Christmas with my free stuff.

101, that recipe sounds so good, but creamed potatoes, instead of rice. Living dangerously aren't we? I love baked potatoes, and when I have them, that is all I eat. Love to load them with everything in the fridge. Give me the butter, sour cream, cheese, broccoli, bacon bits, just call it a "well rounded meal". Don't do that often, but it is soooooo good.

morningayle, sorry that you and Jenna didn't have a girl's day-night out. I understand the checkbook dilimma. But the family fun night sounds just that fun. Doesn't take much to make little ones happy.

DR, sorry about son's 3rd place finish. Why in the world didn't the ref show some back bone and admit that there was a scoring mistake. Glad though that you had a pleasant evening with friend.

VA, don't you just feel that you have been hit by a truck when the grandkids go home. Love them, but the good part of the visit, is going home. Hope the election is over quickly, hate those campaigns and the mud slinging. Just watched a program that said Canadian's have a very low opinion of our current leader, and I reply, surprise. Not talking politics here, just personalities. I agree with Ozarkian, please destroy that hard drive. It continually amazes me that information you thought you deleted, just can materialize from who knows where?

Jasmeer, hope you had a nap today.

Carat, I have missed you!!. Glad to hear that the final papers may be signed this week. Let us know, and we will throw a "closing party" for you. We could use Sarv's BLT dip recipe, sounds so good.

Well, I am wondering now, where is Maria, Garden Geek, Bal, Ernie, Woofens, and others that did not make it here today.

I hope all have a pain free, sad free day tomorrow.

Going to go with DH in the morning for visit to Chiro, he is feeling better, and I will use this trip to go to the post office, and to return something to Walmart and to purchase more supplies to work at DM's house, this week.

Well off to visit other forums and to see what has gone on in my absence today.

Good night to all, and to all a good night.
