Hello Leslie,

I want to say "Thank you so much" (big hug) for sharing these wonderful seeds with me. They arrived today.
Are there any hints to starting the seeds you could share?
Thank you also for the CUTE card! Where did you ever find such cute cards?
I'm going to do some reaseach on these before I start them to be sure that I can get them to grow for me as this is such a pretty plant!

THANK YOU!

For Kim and everyone,

Vicki from thread #1 on this subject, hyperlink above, found some great info on seed germination, etc. I have not personally grown these seeds as I bought the plant in a larger size. I'm sure this will help you. Thanks again Vicki!

I think I have one that is sprouting! They have been in the greenhouse, on the top shelf, where it gets very warm...they were planted the 9th of March.

I see two sets of leaves there. There's the large single one and the two small ones.

I wanted to share a picture of my "babies" this morning and tell you how VERY Excited I am about this. I have NEVER been able to grow anything from seed! EVER!

I planted 5 of the 10 seeds that Leslie so generously shared with me. As you can see in the picture 4 are looking wonderful.

My poor little 5th baby was "stuck" in the shell and not strong enough to break it open. Being the over burdening mother that I am I tried to "help" it along by taking it's shell off. I think I took it's head off (feeling heavy hearted about that) along with the shell. But I know only the strong will survive and am cherishing it's 4 brothers and sisters.

I have them on a heating pad set on low and baby them every single day. It has brought me such great pleasure to wake up every morning and see if my babies grew at all. I was so proud to see their first true leaves. I cut the embryo leaves off before taking this picture.

I plan to make mine a "bonsai" type so that I can bring it in during the winter here in Maine. I will post more as they grow.

Leslie, again I thank you for sharing this joy with me.

Leslie,
If you still have any left, I'd love a set of your seeds. PLMK- thanks! :)

Chapin, SC(Zone 7b)

Kim,

Great job!!! You won't believe how fast they can grow and the leaves are so pretty and feathery. Make sure they have a lot of light, like a shop light if you have them inside.

Becca, I'd be happy to send you some.

I thank all of YOU for growing these. I have the large bush that was bought that way but don't have a place to put any more, so I'm thrilled to be able to vicariously participate in your seed growing. :)

Leslie

P.S. If you think these are fun, check with me in the fall. I'm doing my first daylily crosses now to have seeds to share in the fall of those most wonderful, easy to grow flowers.
