nice (or Fancy as you say!) did you save the seeds from that one or did you get pups? How did you propagate it?
yummm...I had mushrooms with my steak tonight!!
Laurie;
I bought a corm for a nasty $6 or so from a local greenhouse (I did not know better then, years ago) and grew it in a pot. (that is it in the old picture.) I have divided it, or rather it has divided itself, many times. This is the first time I have started them from seed. I had a huge collection of Calla varieties last summer, but suffered an extreme attack of soft-rot that ruined most of the collection. Would you like to try Zantedeschia?
Kenton
Thanks Kenton, I have quite a few already. The pink, yellow, rose and big white varieties.
Jill those muchrooms are incredible ! How long can you keep growing new ones ?
The kit says it should be good for 6 or 7 "flushes," and after that I may be able to break the block into pieces to use as plug spawn if I want to innocculate a few logs.
We ate the last of this harvest for lunch -- Howie made omelets before the tea party! Check out this thread http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/575444/ and its predecessor for details on the fun I've been having with Kim & Howie here!
That's wonderful !
beautiful - I love orchids. I think I am going to put some wire shelves on my tree and have them hang there all summer. I feel I got better flowering from them when they were outside,
I love the way hoyas smell...my friend has one that smells like chocolate
Keyring,your plants are beautiful.
Anita, please share pictures of your wire shelves in your tree-I have never seem this before-sounds like a great idea.
Key you are definitely a green thumbed gal! So beautiful!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
I certainly will - once I set them up. Of course, I may never get there again as we are expecting upto 24" of the white stuff today!
Anita,I hope all is well your way-stay warm.
Keep in touch to let us know how you are.
Oh, Key. I think I had some Phals with 'Brother Lawrence" and "taida" blood. I've moved my gardening outdoors, though. Maybe when I have my nice little rural house, I will build a greenhouse and keep orchids again. Until then, I'll enjoy your excellent pictures.
Kenton
Keyring you have the most awesome plants !
