Coffee and.....For Wednesday, January 11, 2006

Hi all
Just popped in to say I may be missing for a few days - we are digging French Drains and redoing the watering system before it gets back to Texas heat, or starts to rain!! So pretty busy.
I can keep up with reading - just !!! LOL but typing takes too long. Catch y'all in a daty or so.

Here's the Banana Bread. Certainly not my best baking effort, LOL, but it will be tasty. New stove, new recipe, AND new altitude all make a difference.

They look delicious,I have not made any for a long time. We have so many goodies left from the holidays that it is going to take months to finish them all. Have you ever made banana bread with semi sweet chocolate morsels in it ? It is delicious.....Just add a cup of morsels to the batter....

Hey where is everybody, I come in at 11:15, and find that the last post was at 8:04, what's up with that? I got back from lunch around 2:00, I read the local paper and hit the couch. We had fun at lunch, but plans changed at the last minute, and went to a "tea room" for lunch. Had never been there, and I ordered chicken salad, and it was almost overpowering with onion. Now I like onion, but in lesser amounts. The service wasn't great either. Don't know whether I will go there again. But is was nice to have lunch with neighbors/friends. So after a rest, started prepping for supper. After lunch, I wasn't very hungry, but DH had laid out fish, so it was hush puppies and slaw. Good, but really not in the mood for it. When I am home for lunch, it is a very light lunch, maybe a 1/2 sandwich, and a drink (non alcoholic) LOL.

Well, DH arrived home about the time I was leaving for lunch. They are moving his mother tomorrow to a rehab facility. I don't know that she will be able to do much rehab, but, if it doesn't work out, there is always home, and home health nurses. After going to get her settled in the morning, he is leaving for Florida, helping his brother drive. He will be flying home on Saturday, so I have a 2 days and a half vacation. No cooking if I don't want to, maybe plan a shopping trip!! Yahoo!!

Well, Mary, get out those clippers pronto, nothing more painful that kitty scratches. After she crashes, going to take dog for a walk. I laughed out loud. My sister has a new Yorkie, and she says that at about 9:00 he crashes, after an all out assault all day!! The last 2 dogs she has had have been very good dogs, and this one is a holy terror. I told her she was due one of those!! I have 2 holy terrors, now have a very good one.

Elaine, did I hurt your feelings? Didn't mean to, I have been thinking of you all afternoon, and may get a chance to call you tomorrow.

Gardengeek, you complain, never. You know the rules here, anything goes, so just vent and get it all out.

OF, I loved your pic. Do they get along all the time?

Sarv, what in the world are you doing? Nobody needs to work as hard as you did today. Don't tell me that you have started "spring cleaning. I was looking at my curtains the other day, and they are really pitiful. Need to take them down and get them washed, and soon.

Darius, those loaves of banana bread look great. Please leave one or two on the counter for tomorrow. They go really good with a cuppa. Sorry about losing the flour. That stinks.

Well, for those I didn't address, I am not ignoring you, just limited time, as I spent so much time purchasing a ticket for DH on the internet tonight, and the night is quickly waning. Have to be up early tomorrow, have a dental appointment to begin a ROOT CANAL! This will be my 4th, so am an old hand at this. Somebody please have some soup ready for me for tomorrow's lunch.

Darius that Banana bread look delicious. I would also steal the first slice and slather butter on it when I was a child. Haven't eaten it with butter in quite some time.

Okay, I thought I asked this before but maybe that post disappeared, but anyone know where Julie is?????

I came home from work exhausted at 3:30, DH stopped at the store on the way home and I managed to get here first. I sat down on the couch, gave the mail a quick go through and sat back to just rest a minute until DH came home. At 6:00 DH was quietly telling me dinner was ready, and he brought it out to me on a TV tray. I now know why all the men where so pissed at the feminist movement. They had it made.

Welcome home Mary. I bet Amanda Panda was so happy to see you. My dogs act as though they were mistreated and I was saving them from death when I pick them up from the vet.
