M5 - Sammi is adorable. Enjoy him.

Coffee and....For, Saturday, Jan. 8, 2006
Hey, ya'll. I went away sick, promised 101 I was coming back, and then kept forgetting to tell you that the bug I had was not terminal after all. Don't you just feel rotten with a cold?
I've missed the chatter and the snacks, but have read through it all faithfully just now.
I've been sitting too long now, so will sign off until tomorrow. My sitting time is still limited due to my recent back surgeries.
'Nite.
Oh Meezers ... I wish I could get my hands on Sammy. I could sure use a cuddle. LOL And my girl wouldn't mind. she loves everyone. So glad you finally got him home.
Susan, I definitely wouldn't have to worry about my undies falling back down. If I got them half way up ... I'd have enough to keep them in place so as to pull the other half up. LOL LOL
I've posted some pics on the Christmas thread of my scanner if anyone has a mind to go see them.
1GG, so glad to see you back! Just drop in when you can ... and don't give that back too much of a work out. Got to be ready for planting season come spring.
Hugs to those I've missed.
... Elaine
I've spent almost the whole day in my big lazy boy chair with the heating pad on. I just can't get warm = plus am feeling a little achy...Drat- I sat next to a gal that had a rotten cold last night and I fear I maybe getting it. I have been coughing all day too....
Vi - those ice thingys looked beautiful - bet the colored candles really made them extra pretty. What a lot of work for you tho.... now you can rest for a week or two!!
M5- awwww what a cutie!!! Oh oh, hogging someone elses bed....that may be a major no no! DS two cats groom each other- it is so precious.
Wood- that's one good looking greenhouse. I would love to have one attached to the house. Mine is out in the back forty - quite a hike for me.
IO1 - now I can pin a face on you!! Isn't it funny how you think someone will look one way and it is a surprise when you see them in the flesh! And you can tuck your shirt it - that's my goal!! LOL
9kit- DH will probably enjoy pulling up your britches !!! After I had surgery, DH had to help me everywhere - including the bathroom. I couldn't sit down or stand up from the 'throne' by myself. He would make a wonderful nurse- he was very understanding and kind. I think he missed his calling!!
He's been a sweetheart today (after our spat on Fri) He installed a new door knob and put up some cork behind the phone for me. Someone crunched the back quarter of my car tho- grrrrI I think we can get off the white paint and the crunch isn't awful - we need a new vehicle anyhow! He made a big pot of chili - but it doesn't even sound good. I have a flood of gunk rolling down my throat ( oops sorry if you were eating!! )
Jammies are going on pronto...
Well, let's see... M5, the new kitty is adorable!
Betty (woodspirit1), the GH looks wonderful, and like a great place for coffee in winter!
Ann, sounds like the party was a success!!
Bonnie (defoecat) hope the mothers continue to do well.
Sure I have left many out... sorry.
As for me, I have a sunburn from building today and am now officially a "redneck" LOL. It went from 25º to 75º in about 3 hours, and I was down to a sleeveless top and shorts by then. I should make it clear that Molly and Jeremy are doing all the labor, I'm just the Sawyer and "Boss", LOL. Anyway, we are almost finished with the framing. Maybe another 2 hours remaining.
Molly and Jeremy are off tomorrow to do a painting job in Ft. Lauderdale and will be gone all week, so nothing more will happen until after next weekend. Then, it's finish the framing, install the window and door, and order the metal roofing and the siding. I'd say two weeks to finish after they get back, weather permitting.
Redneck, eh? LOL! Meezer, Sammie is darling! I can't WAIT until we're home and Howie's feeling up to getting a meezer kitten. We're both really looking forward to having a meezer again.
Well, 3am is going to come around early, so I think I'm about ready to toddle off to bed. Howie's wide awake still, watching a movie. He can sleep all day tomorrow, anyway. 'Course, he'll be under general anesthesia, but hey. ;)
Meez, doctor wants me off caffeine to see if it is causing problems with me antirejection med for my metal jaw. I was having problems with vertigo and other equilibrium issues. I go for tests on Wednesday and hopefully they will know something. To be honest I cant see how something I have been ingesting everyday since I was a teen and through my surgeries and procedures could be causing a problem now. But I am doing as they say. Not happy about it but I am following orders.
Sammi is adorable. I want another kitten but now have to wait until after the move. DH being the wonderful person he is found a place that has doggy/kitty doors that open and close with a remote that the animal wears. My cats and dogs are currently trained to go outside in a small sand area outside. Going to have to retrain before I bring another into the mix. So I will have to settle for thousands of daily pictures from you.
Well I am truly missing the DH. This is the first time he has gone someplace for more then one night and I have stayed home in 19 years. I seem to do better when I go alone. I guess because I usually go with an agenda and have so much going on with not alot of time to miss him.
Darius, I love to see the in progress pictures of the pump house. Keep them coming.
Forgot if I told you but we did discover that we have two natural springs on the property and I was curious about that spring house you were talking about. The one closest to house and the most useful to us is in a what I call a trench about 3 feet lower the the surrounding area. The trench is because of the spring water. It is cool water. Warmer then the air right now but DH says its far from being warm water. Its clean and clear, all three of the men took a taste and it taste great to them, and the water test results came back as a natural clean spring. Tell me your ideas on what I can use it for. It is about 800 ft from the house so its not practical for garden or house use because it would have to be pumped uphill and its not that strong of a spring. It is also in the wooded forest area.
Woodspirit, I just wanted you to know that I have secretly been willing your greenhouse complete. I want one when we move and from the first pictures I saw of yours its just what I want when I move. I have made an arrangement with a textile factory in town to retrive a few of there windows and hopefully it will be as wonderful as yours. I may need the address to the place you found your items. I know you said it was habitat for humanity, but with me not being familiar with the area I may need directions. Congratulations on it being finished. It is beautiful and I am jealous.

I love that greenhouse attached to your house like that. I'd love one of those.
I've missed something here in the days I've been off. Why is Howie having surgery? Maybe that's none of my business. But whatever it is, Howie, I hope that it goes well and you recover quickly.
Diane
Oh, Sheila, I just love the pics of your new "Sammi"!!!! He looks so cute and happy in the bed that he shouldn't be sleeping in, hehe. I hope they all get along. Now you make it so I want another cat. I already have 3 but.....
Woods, just love your greenhouse. You guys did a good job on it. It will be so nice to just sit out there and relax now.
Casey, so for sure the house is yours now in SC???
I01, love the pic of you and the puppy. It is good to see a pic of the person we talk with here.
Well, it actually stopped raining for a day today!!! Yeah! I got to go outside and work in the yard a bit!!!
I just puttered around, moved some mulch to plants that the rain had washed it away, pounded in about 20 rebar in my new retaining wall and my arms are telling me now, and got some dirt ready to get some seeds started finally.
I am going to be booking a trip to Hawaii tomorrow or Tues. My parents are paying for a trip for me and my two sons. For me for helping my father with his stroke and for the boys who are graduating from college and high school this year.
So am planning 5 days each on Oahu/Maui. Any of you guys been there and have any good/bad tips for me??? Love to hear from you all about it. Never have been and am so excited to go in May now. Now I have something to look forward to.
Well, need to load some pics on my computer from the wrestling tournament so later all,
Carol (DR)(the even one)
I lived in Hawaii for twelve years, but left there in 1980 and I know much will have changed. There are many tourist trap places to avoid, and some really cool things to do if you want to get out on your own a little bit.
I'll be back tomorrow and give you some ideas.
Diane
Ok great, Diane, would love any any tips please! Yes, I don't want to waste money any junk things. Thanks. Wow, 12 years, cool!
Carol
DR, in all senses the house is ours. The heirs want us to have it, and have bent over backwards to get things done. The lawyers all are in favor of us having it, so they say. The judge says he has no reasons for us not to have the house, although he has made a couple comments of the land and house being part of a heritage and that history and heritage should be protected and preserved within a family. The issue is with Nevada laws conflicting with SC laws, and making sure that the paperwork is all filled out and complete. Our first loan officer was not qualified (read that as a complete stumbling idiot) and really screwed things up, after he was fired we basically had to start all over again with a new officer and this one had to undo what the first did so we could start over. It has been a mess. So its no so much is the house our but when will it be completely ours.
That is wonderful what your parents are doing for you and your sons. My parents really tried to get me things that I had always wanted before they passed to say thank you for all I did. Although what I did for them can never be measured with money or things I am so thankful and every time I use or see one of the items I think of them.
Casey
Edited because I cant spell through tears when talking about my parents.

Casey, I totally understand. I would do anything for my parents because they were and always have been there for me. So yes, money or things don't matter to me, tho it is nice but my mom would have preferred to take me to Hawaii herself but now it is too late but she wants me to go anyways.
I just wondered about the house in SC. You had talked about the judge problems awhile ago and haven't heard if it was finalized yet tho. So hope it will go thru and you get the title in your safe deposit box finally real real soon.
Thanks, I01, I am very lucky and I know it.
Carol
Hi there,
Just in from an Ottawa Symphony rehearsal. - first one for the next concert which is Jan. 16. Concert date was changed to be a week earlier because of the federal election we are now having on Jan. 23.
Program is Kodály, Dances of Galánta; François Dompierre, Les Diableries for violin and orchestra with David Stewart, violin; and Sibelius, Symphony No. 1. Tonight we worked through the Sibelius and some of the Dompierre Dances. Don't know them but they are jazzy and rhythmic and not easy to count the irregular rhythms. May enter one of them into computer notation program for playback purposes.
Another rehearsal tomorrow evening. Then Saturday afternoon. Two next Sunday - one in the afternoon and one in the evening. Monday noon and play the concert Monday evening. Will be a busy week.
We finally have enough snow to snowshoe. I usualy go out on Monday afternoons with two friends, but this week; I think we will go on Wednesday afternoon. I'll play hookey again from the FC and return later after we tramp around the bush for awhile.
Feel a slightly scratchy throat. Think I'll head to bed to try to ward that off. Still want to sit down and read through the threads from yesterday and today. I sense that I've missed several things in my fast reading of them.
Hope you all have a good night.
Ann

This kid is wearing me out. Have some more kitty proofing to do tomorrow, and have to decide where to store him for the night. In with us? Or alone in the bathroom, will the girls be jealous if we shut them out of the bedroom, time will tell. He plays like a maniac, and then falls over in a dead sleep for an hour ...
Hope everything goes well with Howie's surgery tomorrow, we are all sending our very best to him, and to you, GW.
Here's a good head shot of the little dickens, who is now unconscious on the couch.....
Greenhouse? Hawaii? Waaaaaaaaahhhhhh.
Tomorrow's Daily is up in the Parking Lot.
Here's the link if you need it. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/566796/
Kelly
I know. I know. You want to go too, Sheila??? LOL
That is the cutest close-up picture I have ever seen. Wow, have fun with him. I would just leave the door open so nobody feels bad.
GG, keep stomping.... hehe

M5,
Aw,,,what a precious pic. You sure can see he's a stinker through his eyes though,,,LOL
Kelly
DR,
LOL,,,I prolly will
Sheila, I love that picture. It is perfect. I vote for all the kitties sleeping with you in your room. LOL Since DH has been out of town I have had both dogs, both cats and youngest son in bed with me every night. Boy are they all in for a surprise come tomorrow night when things go back to normal.
They just reported on the news that another hotel and casino is set for emplosion in a couple months. That leaves only four hotels that are from the original Las Vegas strip. Why cant this town figure out how to preserve the past instead of destoying it and then just putting up a sign for remembering?? Sad....
Casey
Well, it has been a long busy day. Got up at 7:30, had store bought doughnuts for breakfast,(boo) DGD loved them. Went to church, left DH in bed this morning, as he didn't get home from the hospital until about 1:45. He was completely exhausted. Came home fixed lunch, did a load of laundry, rested, took DGD home at 4:15. Home, DH had gone to church, as I didn't get back in time, to go with him. Watched Desperate Housewives, and then have been reading trying to catch up.
DMIL had a chest tube put in this morning, and other than the pain from the site, has fluid draining and is easier for her to breathe. I hope that this allows her to start healing and she is able to come home soon.
My mother is feeling better, from the headaches that the blood pressure was causing, but has discovered that she has a sore sit down from the fall. She thinks maybe she fractured her tailbone in the fall, but what can be done for that?
Gardenwife, welcome, I sure hope Howie's surgery goes well tomorrow. Stop in any time, and tell us what is going on.
Meezer, Sammi is so CUTE!!. He/she? have you found out which, looks like that he is vying for king/queen of the hill! And going to somebody's else's sleeping place is definately a no no, so who is going to tell him/her? Mini will probably take care of that communication!! Hope the fur doesn't fly.
Viann, that party sounds wonderful, and the ice lanterns are just absolutely gorgeous. And the chair coverings are just great. You are so talented.
101, I can't believe that my weather was better than your weather today. 40 here is not bad, but you got the extra 10 degrees, and put you up there. The wind blew here all day. Did not do any good to comb the hair before going out, as it was upside down in a minute. I told DGD, that I should just be called "spike" today.!!
DR, great for DS in the wrestling match. And greater still is the trip to Hawaii. Take plenty of pics, so that we can be there in cyber time.
Casey, everytime I have to have a procedure, which prohibits anything to eat or drink, I get those horrible Caffeine withdrawal headaches. Don't see how you have been able to stick to that. And BTW, good luck on the procedures.
Darius, a "redneck", what do you expect when you live in the south? I have been following your progress, and think that it is going extremely well. Good for Molly and Jeremy on the job back in Lauderdale.
Mary, how is Amanda Panda? I laughed about the Jack Russell. My Mr B is so full of energy, but he gets to go out and run all by himself. So that takes care of the mischief that could be done in the house.
Kittymom, when is your surgery, I have CRS and don't want to go way back and look it up? Well, it sounds like your DH is the helpful kind, and don't worry about him having to haul your drawers up, I'm sure that you have done many things for him. One of the hardest things I had to do was when I had my right thumb operated on was to do buttons, so everytime I went to the bathroom, could get the jeans up, but couldn't fasten the. DH would roll his eyes, but would fasten them for me. One day he said, "don't you have anything with elastic in the waist to wear?" I took that to mean, that he was tired of fastening my jeans for me, but he volunteered every time.
Well, it has been a busy day, I am tired and ready to go to bed. DH just signed off about 10 minutes ago, and came to collect his hug and kiss before turning in. What a sweetie he has become. House cleaning is on my agenda tomorrow, so everyone please get out your dust rags, mops, brooms, vacuums, and window cleaner and come on over. I will reward all with all the breakfast food you can eat. Coffee/tea for everyone but Carat, and there is a variety of fruit juices available to you.
Good night all, and sweet dreams too.
Okay I think I confused everyone. I am not having any more procedures or surgeries, or at least not that I know about. I had my upper and lower jaw replaced with a titanium one in May because of an infection, and I have been on the antirejection meds since. Tonight was actually the first time that I made it through dinner with out craving a Pepsi. I waited until after I was done eating for the cravings to hit. Gosh, I would think after almost a week I wouldn't be having these thoughts as often. I think I have final met my match and its a caffeine addiction.... How pitiful is that....
I am going back to the picture of Sammi to make me smile before bed. Night all.
Casey
M5 bathroom bad,
this is the time for him to bond with you.
What better place than curled around your pillow while you sleep . ( Just dont make any quick little funny moves .... lolololol )
That is the way all my new fur babies spend the first couple nights here.
Can I come over and and do smoochies on Sammi ? What a little doll.
My Sammie says HI! She loves kitties.
scooter,
Good to see you again,,,,,did you get out of your funk?
Kelly
Scooter, what a beatiful animal and such a great phpto
Scooter, Sammi can play with Sammie anytime! He's not having much success with the resident cats! Souky has retreated to the den, and is permanently perched on the back of a chair, Mini just comes up, suddenly realizes HE"S STILL HERE, and hisses, although she has turned the volume down. He did spend the night or most of it in our bed and settled in nicely after giving me several bites on the ear.
He's getting bolder about exploring, but if I'm out of sight, he cries until I answer him, and then comes charging back to familiar ground. He had two tummy upsets, which I attribute to stress, haven't changed his diet. Going to try some canned Science Diet kitten glop and see if that agrees with him. He eats well, but makes all kinds of growly yippy noises in between bites.
hmmm, sounds like he might be eating too fast causing the upchucking. his noises while eating indicate to this behaviour.
Not unusual for a cat in a new home with resident cats around.
Or it could be the habit of eating too fast while competing for chow with litter-mates ?
Believe it or not Walmart carries the best dry cat food I have ever found called Maximum (nutrition ? )
The Kitten Formula and the indoor cat/hairball formulas are the best containing the most meat.
and NOT those awful totally nutrition void by-products
imo all the other pseudo high class cat foods are junk and most are made by the same company .
BUT, don't get me wrong here .... I am not referring to Walmart's Old Roy brand I wouldn't feed to a dead animal !
PS most wet foods are the same as the dry with water added.
IMO IMO IMO
Kelly ,
Yup , feeling better Thank You ..... I found a soap box to stand on and spew forth ..... hahahahaha
*thud - crash * oopsie , I fell off
This message was edited Jan 9, 2006 11:22 AM
scooter,,,,
hope your fall didn't hurt too badly,,hey, we don't mind soap boxes,,,,LOL BTW,,,Sammi is beautiful!
M5,
Sounds like he's so fun to watch.
Kelly
