Well, I guess I'm gonna have to get some 2¢ stamps cuz I didn't get my cards out today.....darn!

Jack it up to $.50 and promise not to change for at least 5 years. Is thier theory, "If they have to watch the Post Office they'll watch the government less"? How many letters will they return for 2 cents? I would gladly pay $1.00 to write on a piece of paper and have that exact same paper delivered to someone accross the country in less than a week. Junk mailers ought to pay more. Sorry, Curmudgeon attack. Frank

My DH and I just went to the PO and while we were standing in the VERY long line, one of the tellers kept shouting out, "We are out of 2¢ stamps. If you are here for 2¢ stamps, please just tell us how many 1¢ stamps you would like. Thank you!" Sheeeesh, why didn't they print more? LOL

I think you could jsut buy a new book of stamps at the new amount and just get 2 cents later on down the line when they stock them again.
Our post office never carried the two cent stamps until now. I had to always get the one cent to make the 49 cent bubble envelope,
But I got mine about two weeks ago when I was there for another reason and saw the rates were going up. Had to get 18 of them to match my left over stamps in the book.

Whoops! Sorry Junglebob! I forget where I have been and sometimes where I am going. :) Lynchburg is in the Southwest bottom most corner of Ohio. I'm about 43 miles from Cincinnati. I actually just moved here FROM Cincinnati.

ah bad...well cincinnatti is very cold in february....lol..i remember the winds...but haven't been back that way since 1970..

Rates will go up again January 2007.
