newbee needs help :)

Hi all yep I'm a newbee and have a problem. I had this flower in a wild flower mix and to make a long story short after the neighbor spayed it I only got a few seed from it. I love it and cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone know what it is? It's very hardy and requires little or no attention. TIA Lauri

Lauri,
Welcome to DG!! I have no idea what your flower is, but if you post your picture on the identification forum you'll get an answer pretty quickly.

Hi Lauri! Welcome to the gang! : )

Your flower looks like some sort of dianthus. Here's a list of dianthus in the Plant Files:

http://davesgarden.com/pf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=dianthus&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=&searcher%5Bcultivar%5D=&searcher%5Bhybridizer%5D=&search_prefs%5Bsort_by%5D=rating&images_prefs=both&Search=Search

Good luck finding it!

Sharon, thanks I will head over there now. Rhonda Thanks for the link but went through there and couldn't find it , someone told me it was a Godetia but can't find it there either. Again thanks...Lauri

Lauri: do you have a close-up of the foliage? That might help narrow down the possibilities.

Also, have you tried to search the Plant Files this way?:

I'm love trying to figure these out, but I'm not so good at it. ; )

It looks very much like a godetia to me.

I went to the identification forum and it is a Godetia, I just couldn't find that particular color, so I'm ordering seed and hopefully will get it that way. Thanks again all....Lauri
