Dave - Request for Have/Want Lists

Hi Dave,

I was wondering if there was any way to either alphabetize new additions (by Latin name) to our have and want lists or to arrange them the way we want, rather than by latest addition to the list.

Me too! I know we can sort by clicking the column header, but I'd like to be able to keep it that way. I don't suppose it matters, but I like it tidy.

I'll have to third that one. It would be nice if we could choose a default order setting for viewing our list. We can sort it by column - but it goes right back to the dated order after you edit anything - So we have to keep re-ordering it every time we edit something. (does that make sense?)

So, you want it to sort by default on your lists.

Here is the question I have. Do you want to specify in your prefverences the sort order that other people see when looking at your lists, or the sort order just for your own browsing enjoyment?

Let me know which is preferable (I think the latter) and I'll make it happen Monday.

Dave,

I don't want to seem pushy or anything, but I think it would be good if not only I can see my plants listed alphabetically or by my own arrangement, but also if others can see it the way I arrange it. For example, I might have Cyclamen hederifolium to add today, but Cyclamen repandum to add a couple months down the line. I'd like to group them together because they belong to the same genus and the date of addition is not really a factor - it's easier for people to browse the seedlist that way.

Perhaps a massive overhaul of what has been called "the seedlists" is in order. DG started with the seedlists - it was the first feature, and it's getting harder and harder for the seedlists to keep up with the rest of the site. I've got some thinking to do.
