Carat- you lucky dog getting your insurance to pay for most of it. I would never be so lucky!! I may try one...when I get the credit card bill paid for! LOL It's bad this year.... Oh, you must get a machine to do tomato juice- I will have to dig mine out to see the name. It is soooo slick - drop tomato in, turn the crank and out comes the juice. Put in a jar and process. It is the best thing I own in the canning department! DH drinks gallons of the stuff. Do you own a canning pressure cooker? That is all I use and have for over 30 yrs.

M5 - I could never have a bed heater- the minute I hit the pillow I start to sweat. It's disgusting....I quite often get up and walk around to cool off. I am one 'hot' chick! LOL I often sit in my lazy boy chair with a heating pad on- go figure.

DH is cleaning out the frig - just in time to fill it back up again! I can't believe all the goodies I baked today. Have sampled them all and they are keepers. Still need to do the sugar cookies- not sure if I want to tackle those tonight. Maybe tomorrow would be better.

I have a dental appt at 9am tomorrow- ugh - think of me. I absolutely HATE going to the dentist = I always take a xanax to get me thru. It sure would be a nice Christmas present NOT to have to have any work done. I had several 'watch' areas last time I went, so those probably have grown into something that needs attention. Ooops- I forgot to brush my teeth today LOL - better get that done....

Just got a minute to check in to see what everyone has been up to.
Sarv, we are a lot alike. The DH and I got one of those memory foam pads ... but it made me sweat like a pig! LOL I'm very cold natured, but still suffer from those hot flashes. Will wake up to find I've stripped in the night and never even knew it. LOL
The DH got a good report on his left eye ... but the pressure was up a bit on his right. Doc thinks this was maybe just stress or something as he's never had this problem, but will keep an eye on it as Glaucoma runs in his family.
Kelly, that hair you did yesterday sure sounds like something, now. LOL
Mary, sure hope all goes well with your new baby. Sounds soooo sweet ... even if you did adopt a few problems along.
Karat, glad you're able to get on DG while at work. LOL
Julie, are you hooked up yet? :)
Suzie, so sorry to hear about your coworkers husband. We have a good friend that is in her late 40's and just been diagnosed with that back before Thanksgiving. They are both so young to be going through such hard times. Will keep that family in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for all your prayers and concrens for Gina and John (Gina is coworker) They are a really sweet couple. It has been unusually quet and glum here in the office today. I don't think any of us have gotten alot done as our thoughts are elsewere. We are only a small office of 6 and are all very close.

I have seen two different people post that they are getting kitties. I'm jelouse. DH won't let me have another. I already have 3 and the youngest is a real terror. There are only 2 times when she is sweet and loving. One is at 2-3 a.m., the other is when i'm in potty, LOL I thought when the kids grew up I could go to the bathroom alone. Now if I don't close the door tightly, I have 2 or 3 critters to keep me company.

Elaine - Glad your DH's eye exam was good.

We have one of those foam pads on the bed. I like it better than the egg crate, but I don't see a big difference. Maybe we need a thicker one. My parents got one of those sleep number beds and love it.

Sarv - Good luck at the dentist tomorrow. I don't like them either. The guy I go to now is very nice, he uses LOTS of novacane, but I still don't like going!

Hello again. Here's a picture of the kitten, as yet unnamed. The box she is sitting on is a cat carrier my DH made about 20 years ago, it is heavy even without a cat in it. She sleeps in there.

This is for Elaine. The kitten is mostly black on the top, mostly white on the bottom. She has white stockings but on 3 feet she has some black toes. Her foot pads are all black. Right in the middle of her face she has a straight line and the right side of her face is mostly black, the right side mostly white with a patch over her left eye. When I take her to the vet I'll find out why one eye looks like it might be blind, it is bluish and cloudy looking. Her other eye is green. The backs of her ears are frosty gray and so is the underside of her tail. She's a really funny looking little thing.

Mary, sounds like such a sweet kitty. Hope there's nothing wrong with her eye. Maybe she has a cataract? I had a friend who had a blind kitty. That kitty cat knew her way around even in the yard. LOL They had to be careful not to leave chairs out of place or close dorrs, or park the car in strange places, though. Sort of reminded me of my tricks. LOL You really should be a writer, Mary. Your discriptions are just wonderful.

That is a cute little kitty. Glad she was found for you, even with her critters. I can't wait to get mine. I don't think DH cares how many we have, he's a pushover.

OK, I did the deed. And I am knackered. (Okus will get that right away.) What a job. Didn't put bows on anything yet, because certain residents of this household will have them off in a jiffy. Did tag them.

To all who are terrorized, pooped, stressed out, get a good night's sleep and I'll see you tomorrow. I think I am heading for the couch, where I will sag for the remainder of the evening.

What a little sweetie,,,,aw,,,she's not funny looking,,,she's beautiful. Her name should be Daisy,,,,I would name every pet I had Daisy if I could. I wanted to name Mooshka, Daisy,,,Bill said he "Wasn't havin' no dog named Daisy",,,so, lost out on that one,,,,,,,brought home the cutest little cat,,,he is not a cat person. Named her Daisy,,,he took her back to the farm I got her from the next morning,,,Mooshka was having a fit. Or Emma,,,that's a cute name for her.

Sarv, I have 4 pressure cookers. My moms which is an 8 qt. My first a 10 qt, and two larger ones that I am not sure of the size but I think they are 16 qt. I don't have the rack or any of the other items I will need for canning yet. I am going to get that once we move. I have enough to pack and move as it is. I need to get the processor to replace my little one that just passed out on the counter last week. Figure if I am having to buy one better get one that I can use for all things.

Meezer, is that my box on that stool. I know that box. LOL

Knackered - exhausted.
A knacker is, or was, a dealer in horse flesh, a knackers yard is where old worn out horses were slaughtered. Hence one is " ready for the knackers yard" when worn out, shattered or pooped. This is shortened to just knackered.
Lesson in UK slang over!!
Just popped in between shopping and eating to say high to you all. Got to run DH is hungry and I think its Fridays he has in mind - might be Chilis though.

GardenGeek, you had never heard Billy's got his beer goggles on? It made the stations for the past 3-4 months. I don't usually pay much attention to the words of a song, just if I like the music, and DGD was riding with me one day singing along with this song, and I asked her what Billy had on, and she said Beer Goggles, i just about drove off the road.

Okay, who is knackered, and do I want to be? Please explain.

Family came for supper, and kitchen is clean and everything back in it's place and I am in gown and robe. 1 down, and how many more to go?

Something funny just popped in my head. I am sure that all of you are aware of different jargon in different regions, in the eastern part of Kentucky, I have a friend, who one day was describing sliding off the road because of snow, and she said she fell off the road. Well I just cracked up. She didn't know what was funny. Here you slide off the road, ran off the road, or went into the ditch, but not fall of the road!! One time in Las Vegas, I was returning a rental car, and the attendant asked me how my trip was, and I replied "fine", he started laughing hysterically, and I asked him why, and he said I have never heard such a southern accent. I could't say it then, but I now could say, But you haven't talked to Elaine!!

Well I am going to lay on the couch and read awhile. Back is good while I am standing, but can't sit. Have to go back again tomorrow, so maybe more improvement then.

Just finished up tonights round of cookie baking. Made something like those tea cakes, my recipe is called sandies. Biscoti didn't turn out so great.

Got good news from my friend/coworker. The CAT scan showed that the cancer did not spread to the liver, which they were concernd about.

Can't hold my peepers open any longer. See ya tomorrow. Sweet dreams everyone!

Just checking in. I can't pretend to have read everything above carefully. Got home about 5:30 and the orchestra which had concerts on the weekend had a pot-luck dinner at the conductor's house. so haven't been home long or accomplished much of anything.

Again, very busy at FC today - 265 for food and more for just Christmas. Oh yes, and by successor used part of yesterday to move things around in the office. Half of them were restored to their original location before the end of today's session - and NOT by me. LOL!
I know he's got to learn all that goes on, but if he rifles through my In box again, I'm not so sure I'll take it calmly.

We'll see what tomorrow brings. A moving van load of food to sort, for sure.

Nope, have never heard it. I used to listen to Country Music all the time in the Salon,,,,but the station here plays the new popular songs like every ten minutes, so I switched to a different station. Funny song though,,,I LOL all the way through it.
