I use Kodak easy share and this is how I do it. Either for the forums or Plantfiles. Just go down toward the bottom of the screen and click on the the "Browse" button. This will allow you to look through your files. Select the file that holds your picture, then select the picture from that file. I usually preview before sending. One caution! If you are posting a picture to a forum, you must put text in the message box, before a picture will be accepted.

Kodak EasyShare software by default saves photos within the My Pictures folder, in a subfolder of its own. That's where you'll need to look. To save on upload time, you'll want to resize your original photo smaller and re-save it. Then you can upload the resized one. If you name your resized ones with something added at end of the filename, -W for web for example, they'll be easier to tell apart from the original files.

If you have Windows XP, check out Microsoft ImageResizer tool: http://davesgarden.com/journal/j/viewentry/66022/

LavinaMae, The browse function is on Daves Garden at the bottom of the reply box on forums and the Add a plant function on Plant files.

Kodak easy share is a very simple program. For the purpose of adding
picture to Dave' s Garden there is a button at the top "Edit Picture". Click on the picture that you wish to edit then click on edit picture. Usually your next next major step is the "crop" function. This allows you to select the best portion of your original and to cut off any undesired portion. I usally use the 4 x 6 or 5 x7 format, but for some occasions use the free crop, Daves software does the resizing so I have never noticed any differnce in loading time. Once you have accepted the image that you want, click on "save as" select the file that you wish to save it to, name the image, save. Thats all there is to it. As you become more comforfortable with editing, you can use the enhancement, magnification, etc features.

If you're on a dial-up connection and send your photos in their original large format, they will take a lot longer to upload than if you resize them smaller. Folks who have trouble with DG timing out have sometimes found that it's because they're uploading very large photo files and their connection is timing out.
